He proposes two alternatives in a painter’s development or achievement of artistic creativity: imitation (imitazione) and invention (invenzione).Imitation is the copying of art as a method of learning, whereas invention is independent of imitation and constitutes the means for conceiving artistic ideas. Imitation serves to guide and teach the artist in composing and creating perfection. Vasari maintains that artists must study antiquity and the masters, so that they may learn how others acquired the experience of imitating nature. For Vasari, imitation draws upon three different sources: the first two are copying from nature (copia dal vero) and the third one is selecting from one’s work (imitare se stessi). 文摘Giorgio Vasari’s conception of artistic creativity is related to his theory of painting. He proposes two alternatives in a painter’s development or achievement of artistic creativity: imitation (imitazione) and invention (invenzione).Imitation is the copying of art as a method of learning, whereas invention is independent of imitation and constitutes the means for conceiving artistic ideas. Imitation serves to guide and teach the artist in composing and creating perfection. Vasari maintains that artists must study antiquity and the masters, so that they may learn how others acquired the experience of imitating nature. For Vasari, imitation draws upon three different sources: the first two are copying from nature (copia dal vero) and the third one is selecting from one’s work (imitare se stessi). He emphasizes that copying from nature is important for the artist so that he may learn to create forms that are alive as visualized in the Fine Arts.
文摘In 1996,the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences began work on the Complete Collection of Traditional Ounese Arts and Crafts(Zhongguo chuantong ongyi quanji中国传统工艺全集).In 2016,Elephant Press published this twenty-volume magnum opus under the chief editorship of Lu Yongxiang路甬祥.This rich and informative book series systematically details traditional arts and crafts in over ten main categories that demonstrate Chinese scholars'mastery of fields such as lacquerware,ceramics,metal crafts,machinery,spinning and weaving,dyeing,brewing,processing of traditional Chinese materia medica,papermaking and printing,sculpting,and armor restoration.The authors are well versed in traditional Chinese arts and crafts and have the pertinent academic credentials,elevating research on the subject to a new level and breadth.However,the Complete Collection has not yet covered all significant arts and crafts,and the cultural implications have still to be explored.

文摘This paper explores the pathways through which artificial intelligence(AI)enhances new quality productivity in new liberal arts education.By analyzing the role of AI in personalized learning,interdisciplinary integration,and the application of virtual reality/augmented reality technologies,it reveals how AI technology promotes the development of students’innovative capabilities and productivity in the context of new liberal arts education.The study shows that AI is not only a technical tool but also a driving force for transforming educational models and fostering knowledge innovation.Further exploration of the deep integration of AI and new liberal arts education is necessary to promote comprehensive social progress.
文摘It is hard for China to cultivate creative thinkers the present Chinese society needs,so the educational system has to reform.The paper analyses the dilemma in Chinese education,Dewey’s pedagogical ideas,and how Chinese educators can learn from Dewey’s ideas.Chinese higher education system and the examination system for admission to colleges and universities especially liberal arts colleges need to apply Dewey’s pedagogical ideas and reform themselves in order to conform to the whole society.
