We propose Mixed-Precision Multibranch Network(M+MNet)to compensate for the neglect of background information in image aesthetics assessment(IAA)while providing strategies for overcoming the dilemma between training c...We propose Mixed-Precision Multibranch Network(M+MNet)to compensate for the neglect of background information in image aesthetics assessment(IAA)while providing strategies for overcoming the dilemma between training costs and performance.First,two exponentially weighted pooling methods are used to selectively boost the extraction of background and salient information during downsampling.Second,we propose Corner Grid,an unsupervised data augmentation method that leverages the diffusive characteristics of convolution to force the network to seek more relevant background information.Third,we perform mixed-precision training by switching the precision format,thus significantly reducing the time and memory consumption of data representation and transmission.Most of our methods specifically designed for IAA tasks have demonstrated generalizability to other IAA works.For performance verification,we develop a large-scale benchmark(the most comprehensive thus far)by comparing 17 methods with M+MNet on two representative datasets:the Aesthetic Visual Analysis(AVA)dataset and FLICKR-Aesthetic Evaluation Subset(FLICKR-AES).M+MNet achieves state-of-the-art performance on all tasks.展开更多
Within the horizon of the history of ideas,the relationship between aesthetics and civilizing education has always been a core issue in the evolution of human civilization.Traditional aesthetics regards the aesthetic...Within the horizon of the history of ideas,the relationship between aesthetics and civilizing education has always been a core issue in the evolution of human civilization.Traditional aesthetics regards the aesthetic as“pure sensory pleasure”or“the manifestation of abstract ideas”,while simplifying civilizing education to“the transmission of knowledge”or“moral discipline”,splitting them into a dual opposition between“sensory experience”and“rational cultivation”.Based on practical phenomenology as a methodological foundation,this paper attempts to reveal the ontological connection between aesthetics and civilizing education through etymological research and classical text analysis.It argues that properly understood and defined,the aesthetic is essentially the authentic psychosomatic integration of a real subject endowed with free will with the world in free and conscious objective activities.The core of civilizing education,on the other hand,is the historical generation of a holistic way of human life.The two are unified in the process of“the manifestation of meaning in bodily practice”.The core and purpose of the interpretive logic of practical phenomenology is to emphasize the principle of“returning to practice itself”,and in the three dimensions of“the corporeality of aesthetic experience”,“the situationality of the educational process”,and“the practicality of civilizational evolution”,to reactivate the authentic value of the aesthetic for civilizing education.Aesthetics is not the“ornament”of civilizing education,but its“ontological foundation”.The ultimate goal of civilizing education is“the realization of the free and comprehensive development of human beings through aesthetic practice”.展开更多

Starting from this observation, our main question was: Can we talk about a new fashion net-aesthetics for these new fashion tales? Beginning with preliminary background information, e.g. the source book and write...Drawing upon the theory of reception aesthetics, this dissertation aims to discuss the translator's translation of You Can YouWill. Beginning with preliminary background information, e.g. the source book and writer, the translator further introduces theories andprevious related research, including Christian work. There are two representatives of reception theory; the translator stresses Jauss' per-spective of reception aesthetics, detailing his two key notions: the reader's decisive role and horizon of expectation. These notions shiftthe focus from the writer and text to the reader, which is a proven method to make the translation more acceptable to readers. Based onthe translation brief, target readers are Christians. During the translation process, the translator keeps key notions of reception aestheticstop-of-mind and strives to produce a version suitable for Christian readers. Some strategies, e.g. domestication and footnoting, are em-ployed to discuss the translation of biblical terms, Christian expressions, verses or stories from the Bible, metaphors and cultural items.In addition to these strategies, all translation is in accordance with CUV when encountering Bible-related text, due to CUV's authorityamong all versions of the Bible. Fundamentally, ecology is the opposite of civilization. Ecology is beautiful only when it benefits humans and civilizations. The concept of ecological beauty is groundless and what exists can only be the beauty of eco-civilization. Second is the symbiosis of ecology and civilization, which is the very essence of eco-civilization beauty. Third is simplicity, which is the defining beauty of eco-civilization aesthetics and originates from agricultural civilizations. Such an aesthetic view was negated by industrial civilizations and later realized self-renewal through "negation of negation. " Today, simplicity has become the defining beauty in the era of eco-civilizations. Frugality is the core of simplicity and it carries different connotations in different eras. In the era of agricultural civilizations, frugality was for wealth accumulation, while in the era of eco-civilizations frugality is for resource conservation. Some strategies, e.g. domestication and footnoting, are em-ployed to discuss the translation of biblical terms, Christian expressions, verses or stories from the Bible, metaphors and cultural items.In addition to these strategies, all translation is in accordance with CUV when encountering Bible-related text, due to CUV's authorityamong all versions of the Bible. Lastly, the translator provides conclusive remarks based on analysis as well as suggestions for further re-search. Limitations of this study are also mentioned.

文摘This paper explores four issues concerning aesthetics. First is the groundless concept of eco-aesthetics. In nature, aesthetics is the outcome of civilization and aesthetic appreciation is a process of human's self-affirmation. Fundamentally, ecology is the opposite of civilization. Ecology is beautiful only when it benefits humans and civilizations. The concept of ecological beauty is groundless and what exists can only be the beauty of eco-civilization. Second is the symbiosis of ecology and civilization, which is the very essence of eco-civilization beauty. Third is simplicity, which is the defining beauty of eco-civilization aesthetics and originates from agricultural civilizations. Such an aesthetic view was negated by industrial civilizations and later realized self-renewal through "negation of negation. " Today, simplicity has become the defining beauty in the era of eco-civilizations. Frugality is the core of simplicity and it carries different connotations in different eras. In the era of agricultural civilizations, frugality was for wealth accumulation, while in the era of eco-civilizations frugality is for resource conservation. Fourth is the construction of eco-civilization aesthetics of which there are three noteworthy aspects; re-establishing the divinity of nature & advocating nature worship, re-humanizing and re-building trust in technology, and improving the quality of the "habitat for humanity. " The community of eco-civilization is the biggest ever shared homeland featuring harmonious co-existence between humans and nature. The aesthetics of eco-civilization are the aesthetics of the human homeland. "Happy living and dwelling" is an eternal theme of human aesthetics. When it comes to the era of eco-civilizations, however, this theme should be added with a prefix, i.e. "eco-" to form a new concept ─ "happy eco-living and dwelling."

In addition, the paper poses two questions about aesthetic nature industrial design: first, what is the object of industrial design aesthetics? Second, what are the characteristics of design aesthetics of industrial products?
