General Improvement of Image Interpolation-Based Data Hiding Methods Using Multiple-Based Number Conversion

Data hiding methods involve embedding secret messages into cover objects to enable covert communication in a way that is difficult to detect.In data hiding methods based on image interpolation,the image size is reduced and then enlarged through interpolation,followed by the embedding of secret data into the newly generated pixels.A general improving approach for embedding secret messages is proposed.The approach may be regarded a general model for enhancing the data embedding capacity of various existing image interpolation-based data hiding methods.This enhancement is achieved by expanding the range of pixel values available for embedding secret messages,removing the limitations of many existing methods,where the range is restricted to powers of two to facilitate the direct embedding of bit-based messages.This improvement is accomplished through the application of multiple-based number conversion to the secret message data.The method converts the message bits into a multiple-based number and uses an algorithm to embed each digit of this number into an individual pixel,thereby enhancing the message embedding efficiency,as proved by a theorem derived in this study.The proposed improvement method has been tested through experiments on three well-known image interpolation-based data hiding methods.The results show that the proposed method can enhance the three data embedding rates by approximately 14%,13%,and 10%,respectively,create stego-images with good quality,and resist RS steganalysis attacks.These experimental results indicate that the use of the multiple-based number conversion technique to improve the three interpolation-based methods for embedding secret messages increases the number of message bits embedded in the images.For many image interpolation-based data hiding methods,which use power-of-two pixel-value ranges for message embedding,other than the three tested ones,the proposed improvement method is also expected to be effective for enhancing their data embedding capabilities. 展开更多

Three-dimensional(3D)graphene monoliths are a new carbon material,that has tremendous potential in the fields of energy conversion and storage.They can solve the limitations of two-dimensional(2D)graphene sheets,including interlayer restacking,high contact resistance,and insufficient pore accessibility.By constructing interconnected porous networks,3D graphenes not only retain the intrinsic advantages of 2D graphene sheets,such as high specific surface area,excellent electrical and thermal conductivities,good mechanical properties,and outstanding chemical stability,but also enable efficient mass transport of external fluid species.We summarize the fabrication methods for 3D graphenes,with a particular focus on their applications in energy-related systems.Techniques including chemical reduction assembly,chemical vapor deposition,3D printing,chemical blowing,and zinc-tiered pyrolysis have been developed to change their pore structure and elemental composition,and ways in which they can be integrated with functional components.In terms of energy conversion and storage,they have found broad use in buffering mechanical impacts,suppressing noise,photothermal conversion,electromagnetic shielding and absorption.They have also been used in electrochemical energy systems such as supercapacitors,secondary batteries,and electrocatalysis.By reviewing recent progress in structural design and new applications,we also discuss the problems these materials face,including scalable fabrication and precise pore structure control,and possible new applications. 展开更多

The centroid coordinate serves as a critical control parameter in motion systems,including aircraft,missiles,rockets,and drones,directly influencing their motion dynamics and control performance.Traditional methods for centroid measurement often necessitate custom equipment and specialized positioning devices,leading to high costs and limited accuracy.Here,we present a centroid measurement method that integrates 3D scanning technology,enabling accurate measurement of centroid across various types of objects without the need for specialized positioning fixtures.A theoretical framework for centroid measurement was established,which combined the principle of the multi-point weighing method with 3D scanning technology.The measurement accuracy was evaluated using a designed standard component.Experimental results demonstrate that the discrepancies between the theoretical and the measured centroid of a standard component with various materials and complex shapes in the X,Y,and Z directions are 0.003 mm,0.009 mm,and 0.105 mm,respectively,yielding a spatial deviation of 0.106 mm.Qualitative verification was conducted through experimental validation of three distinct types.They confirmed the reliability of the proposed method,which allowed for accurate centroid measurements of various products without requiring positioning fixtures.This advancement significantly broadened the applicability and scope of centroid measurement devices,offering new theoretical insights and methodologies for the measurement of complex parts and systems. 展开更多

Although generative conversational artificial intelligence(AI)can answer questions well and hold conversations as a person,the semantic ambiguity inherent in text-based communication poses challenges to effective use.Effective use reflects the users’utilization of generative conversational AI to achieve their goals,which has not been previously studied.Drawing on the media naturalness theory,we examined how generative conversational AI’s content and style naturalness affect effective use.A two-wave survey was conducted to collect data from 565 users of generative conversational AI.Two techniques were used in this study.Initially,partial least squares structural equation modeling(PLS-SEM)was applied to determine the variables that significantly affected the mechanisms(i.e.,cognitive effort and communication ambiguity)and effective use.Secondly,an artificial neural network model was used to evaluate the relative importance of the significant predictors of mechanisms and effective use identified from the PLS-SEM analysis.The results revealed that the naturalness of content and style differed in their effects on cognitive effort and communication ambiguity.Additionally,cognitive effort and communication ambiguity negatively affected effective use.This study advances the literature on effective use by uncovering the psychological mechanisms underlying effective use and their antecedents.In addition,this study offers insights into the design of generative conversational AI. 展开更多

In order to improve the quality of 3D printed raspberry preserves after post-processing,microwave ovens combining infrared and microwave methods were utilized.The effects of infrared heating temperature,infrared heating time,microwave power,microwave heating time on the center temperature,moisture content,the chroma(C*),the total color difference(ΔE*),shape fidelity,hardness,and the total anthocyanin content of 3D printed raspberry preserves were analyzed by response surface method(RSM).The results showed that under combining with the two methods,infrared heating improved the fidelity and quality degradation of printed products,while microwave heating enhanced the efficiency of infrared heating.Infrared-microwave combination cooking could maintain relatively stable color appearance and shape of 3D printed raspberry preserves.The AHP–CRITIC hybrid weighting method combined with the response surface test to determine the comprehensive weights of the evaluation indicators optimized the process parameters,and the optimal process parameters were obtained:infrared heating temperature of 190℃,infrared heating time of 10 min and 30 s,microwave power of 300 W,and microwave heating time of 2 min and 6 s.The 3D printed raspberry cooking methods obtained under the optimal conditions seldom had color variation,porous structure,uniform texture,and high shape fidelity,which retained the characteristics of personalized manufacturing by 3D printing.This study could provide a reference for the postprocessing and quality control of 3D cooking methods. 展开更多

The modeling of crack growth in three-dimensional(3D)space poses significant challenges in rock mechanics due to the complex numerical computation involved in simulating crack propagation and interaction in rock materials.In this study,we present a novel approach that introduces a 3D numerical manifold method(3D-NMM)with a geometric kernel to enhance computational efficiency.Specifically,the maximum tensile stress criterion is adopted as a crack growth criterion to achieve strong discontinuous crack growth,and a local crack tracking algorithm and an angle correction technique are incorporated to address minor limitations of the algorithm in a 3D model.The implementation of the program is carried out in Python,using object-oriented programming in two independent modules:a calculation module and a crack module.Furthermore,we propose feasible improvements to enhance the performance of the algorithm.Finally,we demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the enhanced algorithm in the 3D-NMM using four numerical examples.This study establishes the potential of the 3DNMM,combined with the local tracking algorithm,for accurately modeling 3D crack propagation in brittle rock materials. 展开更多

This article presents a micro-structure tensor enhanced elasto-plastic finite element(FE)method to address strength anisotropy in three-dimensional(3D)soil slope stability analysis.The gravity increase method(GIM)is employed to analyze the stability of 3D anisotropic soil slopes.The accuracy of the proposed method is first verified against the data in the literature.We then simulate the 3D soil slope with a straight slope surface and the convex and concave slope surfaces with a 90turning corner to study the 3D effect on slope stability and the failure mechanism under anisotropy conditions.Based on our numerical results,the end effect significantly impacts the failure mechanism and safety factor.Anisotropy degree notably affects the safety factor,with higher degrees leading to deeper landslides.For concave slopes,they can be approximated by straight slopes with suitable boundary conditions to assess their stability.Furthermore,a case study of the Saint-Alban test embankment A in Quebec,Canada,is provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed FE model. 展开更多

In this study,we design and numerically investigate a novel all optical D flip-flop(AODFF)based on linear photonic crystal(LPhC)structure that is composed of optical waveguides using the finite difference time domain(FDTD)method.The proposed structure has the hexagonal close packed of 16×20 circular rods that are suspended in the air substrate with a lattice constant of 606 nm.The plane wave expansion(PWE)method is used to obtain the band diagram for AODFF at an operating wavelength of 1550 nm.The proposed optical flip-flop achieves a low delay time of 0.2 ps and a high contrast ratio(CR)of 10.33 dB.The main advantage of this design is that the input power as low as 1 mW/μm^(2) is sufficient for its operation,since no nonlinear rods are included.In addition,the footprint of the proposed AODFF is 100μm^(2),which is smaller compared to the structures reported in the literature,and it has a fast switching frequency of 5 Tbit/s. 展开更多

Since the discovery of two-dimensional(2D)materials,they have garnered significant attention from researchers owing to the exceptional and modifiable physical and chemical properties.The weak interlayer interactions in 2D materials enable precise control over Van der Waals gaps,thereby enhancing their performance and introducing novel characteristics.By regulating the Van der Waals gap,2D materials exhibit a diverse range of applications in the field of energy storage and conversion.This article provides a comprehensive review of various methods for manipulating Van der Waals gaps in 2D materials,including interlayer intercalation,vip atom doping within the lattice,formation of Van der Waals heterojunctions,and adjustment of stacking modes.Moreover,the impacts of these manipulations on energy storage and conversion applications are also summarized.Finally,potential future research directions are proposed to shed light on advancements in Van der Waals gap engineering. 展开更多

Based on the characteristics of pile-soil interaction and the Mohr-Coulomb strength theory,a new method of determining the side friction at a pile-soil interaction is proposed.Combined with the actual engineering cases,the effectiveness of the analogue test method is verified by comparing it with the traditional anchor pile method and self-balanced method.Taking the self-balanced test of the bridge pile foundation in the Songhua River as an example,the conversion factor of sandy soil and weathered mudstone are confirmed by the analogue test method.The results show that the conversion factor of sandy soil and weathered mudstone in the Songhua River area should consider the geological conditions and the construction technology,etc.The standard values are relatively conservative.It is suggested that the engineering application should be properly revised.The recommended range of the conversion factor of sandy soil in this area is 0.65 to 0.85,and that of weathered mudstone is 1.0. 展开更多

A convenient method for methane(CH_(4))direct conversion to methanol(CH_(3)OH)is of great significance to use methane-rich resources,especially clathrates and stranded shale gas resources located in remote regions.Theoretically,the activation of CH_(4) and the selectivity to the CH_(3)OH product are challenging due to the extreme stability of CH_(4) and relatively high reactivity of CH_(3)OH.The state-of-the-art‘methane reforming-methanol synthesis’process adopts a two-step strategy to avoid the further reaction of CH_(3)OH under the harsh conditions required for CH_(4) activation.In the electrochemical field,researchers are trying to develop conversion pathways under mild conditions.They have found suitable catalysts to activate the C–H bonds in methane with the help of external charge and have designed the electrode reactions to continuously generate certain active oxygen species.These active oxygen species attack the activated methane and convert it to CH_(3)OH,with the benefit of avoiding over-oxidation of CH_(3)OH,and thus obtain a high conversion efficiency of CH_(4) to CH_(3)OH.This mini-review focuses on the advantages and challenges of electrochemical conversion of CH4 to CH_(3)OH,especially the strategies for supplying electro-generated active oxygen species in-situ to react with the activated methane. 展开更多

The distance between objects is determined by the distances between objects and light source position which is estimated by the analysis of the image. The estimated lighting value is used to normalize the image. A threshold value is determined by some weighted operation between the original image and the normalized image. By applying the threshold value to the original image, background area is removed. Depth information of interested area is calculated from the lighting changes. The final 3D images converted with the proposed method are used to verify its effectiveness. 展开更多

Using polyethylene glycol (PEG) as the surfactant, Bi3.84W0.1606.24 up-conversion luminescence nano-crystal co-doped with Yb^3+ and Ho^3+ ions was synthesized by the hydrothermal method. The structure and properties of luminescence powder were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was of cubic system when the sample was synthesized at a low temperature and the particle size was about 30 nm. The results showed that adding surfactants was useful to improve the powder agglomeration and the grain crystal was spherical. The green emission peak at 546 nm and red emission peak at 655 nm, corresponding to the (^5F4, ^5S2)→^5I8 and the ^5F5→^5I8 transitions of Ho^3+, respectively, were simultaneously observed at room temperature under excitation of 980 nm semiconductor laser. The up-conversion luminescence intensity was the strongest when the concentration ratio of yb^3+/Ho^3+ was 6:1 and the concentration of Ho3+ ion was 1.5 tool.%. The results show that there are comparatively abundant spectra of up-conversion emissions centered at 378, 408, 527 and 543, and 663 nm, corresponding to 4C9/2→ 6H13/2, 4C9/2→ 6Hll/2, 4115/2 → 6H13/2, and 4F9/2 →6Hll/2 transitions of Dy3+, respectively. Two-photon and three-photon processes are involved in ultraviolet, violet, green, and red up-conversion emissions. The energy transition between Yb3+ and Dy3+ is discussed. 展开更多

目的验证摩腹法干预腹泻型肠易激综合征(irritable bowel syndrome with predominant diarrhea,IBS-D)模型大鼠效果,阐明腹部推拿对IBS-D模型大鼠肠黏膜紧密连接的影响。方法采用母婴分离法+慢性应激法制备IBS-D大鼠模型。将30只SD雄性... 目的验证摩腹法干预腹泻型肠易激综合征(irritable bowel syndrome with predominant diarrhea,IBS-D)模型大鼠效果,阐明腹部推拿对IBS-D模型大鼠肠黏膜紧密连接的影响。方法采用母婴分离法+慢性应激法制备IBS-D大鼠模型。将30只SD雄性大鼠,随机分为正常组、模型组、摩腹组,每组10只。采用粪便含水量测试、粪便性状评分评价干预效果。利用透射电镜观察结肠黏膜组织状态。应用Western-blot法检测大鼠结肠组织中ZO-1蛋白表达。结果(1)与模型组比较,摩腹组粪便含水率、粪便性状评分明显下降(P<0.05),接近正常组(P>0.05)。(2)透射电镜下观察,模型组肠上皮细胞胞浆内有空泡,线粒体大量减少,分布不均,少见完整细胞核,细胞形态大小不一,细胞间间隙变大,紧密连接结构遭到破坏,肠上皮微绒毛缺如;摩腹干预后,肠上皮细胞质空泡减少得到恢复,线粒体增多,结构清晰,细胞核结构可见,细胞间间隙变窄,紧密连接结构部分恢复,肠上皮微绒毛分布不均部分短缺。(3)与正常组相比,模型组ZO-1蛋白表达明显下调(P<0.05),当予以摩腹干预后,ZO-1蛋白表达明显上调(P<0.05)。结论摩腹法能够通过上调ZO-1蛋白表达对大鼠肠上皮紧密连接产生影响,进而对肠上皮紧密连接和肠上皮通透性产生影响,进而改善IBS-D大鼠肠道症状。 展开更多
