Such interference can be largely eliminated if panicles are phenotyped at the 3 D level.Research on 3 D panicle phenotyping has been limited. Given that existing 3 D modeling techniques do not focus on specified parts of a target object, an efficient method for panicle modeling of large numbers of rice plants is lacking. This paper presents an automatic and nondestructive method for 3 D panicle modeling. The proposed method integrates shoot rice reconstruction with shape from silhouette, 2 D panicle segmentation with a deep convolutional neural network, and 3 D panicle segmentation with ray tracing and supervoxel clustering. A multiview imaging system was built to acquire image sequences of rice canopies with an efficiency of approximately 4 min per rice plant. The execution time of panicle modeling per rice plant using 90 images was approximately 26 min. The outputs of the algorithm for a single rice plant are a shoot rice model, surface shoot rice model, panicle model, and surface panicle model, all represented by a list of spatial coordinates. The efficiency and performance were evaluated and compared with the classical structure-from-motion algorithm. The results demonstrated that the proposed method is well qualified to recover the 3 D shapes of rice panicles from multiview images and is readily adaptable to rice plants of diverse accessions and growth stages. The proposed algorithm is superior to the structure-from-motion method in terms of texture preservation and computational efficiency. The sample images and implementation of the algorithm are available online. This automatic, cost-efficient, and nondestructive method of 3 D panicle modeling may be applied to high-throughput 3 D phenotyping of large rice populations.展开更多

Most building polygons’ edges meet at right angles (orthogonal polygon). The integrated system partitions orthogonal building polygons into a set of rectangles and places rectangular roofs and box-shaped building bodies on these rectangles. In order to partition an orthogonal polygon, we proposed a useful polygon expression in deciding from which vertex a dividing line is drawn. Among them, the novel look-up table (N-LUT) method is analyzed to dramatically reduce the number of pre-calculated fringe patterns required for computation of digital holograms of a 3D object by employing a new concept of principal fringe patterns, so that problems of computational complexity and huge memory size of the conventional ray-tracing and look-up table methods have been considerably alleviated. Meanwhile, as the 3D video images have a lot of temporally or spatially redundant data in their inter- and intra-frames, computation time of the 3D video holograms could be also reduced just by removing these redundant data. Thus, a couple of computational methods for generation of 3D video holograms by combined use of the N-LUT method and data compression algorithms are also presented and discussed. Some experimental results finally reveal that by using this approach a great reduction of computation time of 3D video holograms could be achieved.展开更多

文摘The energy devices for generation, conversion, and storage of electricity are widely used across diverse aspects of human life and various industry.Three-dimensional(3D)printing has emerged as a promising technology for the fabrication of energy devices due to its unique capability of manufacturing complex shapes across different length scales.3D-printed energy devices can have intricate 3D structures for significant performance enhancement, which are otherwise impossible to achieve through conventional manufacturing methods.Furthermore, recent progress has witnessed that 3D-printed energy devices with micro-lattice structures surpass their bulk counterparts in terms of mechanical properties as well as electrical performances. While existing literature focuses mostly on specific aspects of individual printed energy devices,a brief overview collectively covering the wide landscape of energy applications is lacking. This review provides a concise summary of recent advancements of 3D-printed energy devices. We classify these devices into three functional categories;generation, conversion, and storage of energy, offering insight on the recent progress within each category.Furthermore, current challenges and future prospects associated with 3Dprinted energy devices are discussed, emphasizing their potential to advance sustainable energy solutions.
文摘Based on building footprints (building polygons) on digital maps, we are proposing the GIS and CG integrated system that automatically generates 3D building models with multiple roofs. In this paper, we propose a new scheme for partitioning building polygons and show the process of creating 3D roof models.

文摘Several approaches for fast generation of digital holograms of a three-dimensional (3D) object have been discussed. Some experimental results finally reveal that by using this approach a great reduction of computation time of 3D video holograms could be achieved.

文摘Interfacial solar steam generation is an efficient water evaporation technology which has promising applications in desalination, sterilization, water purification and treatment.A common component of evaporator design is a thermal-insulation support placed between the photothermal evaporation surface and bulk water. This configuration, common in 2-dimensional(2 D)evaporation systems, minimizes heat loss from evaporation surface to bulk water, thus localizing the heat on the evaporation surface for efficient evaporation. This design is subsequently directly adopted for 3-dimensional(3 D)evaporators without any consideration if it is appropriate. However, unlike 2 D solar evaporators, the 3 D evaporators can also harvest additional energy(other than solar light)from the air and bulk water to enhance evaporation rate.In this scenario, the use of thermal insulator support is not proper since it will hinder energy extraction from water. Here, the traditional 3 D evaporator configuration was completely redesigned by using a highly thermally conductive material, instead of a thermal insulator,to connect evaporation surfaces and the bulk water.Much higher evaporation rates were achieved by this strategy, owing to the rapid heat transfer from the bulk water to the evaporation surfaces.Indoor and outdoor tests both confirmed that evaporation performance could be significantly improved by substituting a thermal insulator with thermally conductive support. These findings will redirect the future design of 3 D photothermal evaporators.

文摘The hydrokinetic energy of river current,as one of the essential and widespread renewable energies,is difficult to be harvested in low flow velocity and shallow water areas. In this work,a three-dimensional(3D)fully-enclosed triboelectric nanogenerator(FETENG)with bionic fish-like structure for harvesting hydrokinetic energy is reported, which is comprised of the triboelectric powergeneration unit, bionic fish-like structure and connection unit.Through the bionic structure, the FE-TENG realizes zero head power generation in shallow water with low flow velocity. What’s more, the effect of external excitations and bionic structures on the electrical performance are systematically studied in this work. The FE-TENG can generate peak power density of 7 and 0.36 W/m^(3)respectively under the simulated swing state with frequency of 1.25 Hz and simulated river current with flow velocity of 0.81 m/s.In practical applications, due to the 3D fully-enclosed design, the FE-TENG immersed in water for 35 days demonstrates excellent immersion durability with undiminished electrical performance. Therefore, the work proposes an efficient method realizing zero head power generation, and provides a good candidate for long-term service in the river current.

文摘The accuracy and efficiency of three-dimensional(3D)surface forming, which directly affects the cycle and quality of production,is important in manufacturing. In practice, given the uncertainty of metal plate springback,an error exists between the actual plate and the target surface, which creates a nonlinear mapping from computer aided design models to bending surfaces.Technicians need to reconfigure parameters and process a surface multiple times to delicately control springback, which greatly wastes human and material resources. This study aims to address the springback control problem to improve the efficiency and accuracy of sheet metal forming.A basic computation approach is proposed based on the DeepFit model to calculate the springback value in 3D surface bending. To address the sample data shortage problem,we put forward an advanced approach by combining a deep learning model with case-based reasoning(CBR).Next,a multi-model fused bending parameter generation framework is devised to implement the advanced springback computation approach through surface data preprocessing,CBR-based model matching, convolution neural network-based machining surface generation, and bending parameter generation with a series of model transformations. Moreover, the proposed approaches and the framework are verified by considering saddle surface processing as an example.Overall, this study provides a new idea to improve the accuracy and efficiency of surface processing.

文摘Full-parallax light-field is captured by a small-scale 3D image scanning system and applied to holographic display. A vertical camera array is scanned horizontally to capture full-parallax imagery, and the vertical views between cameras are interpolated by depth image-based rendering technique. An improved technique for depth estimation reduces the estimation error and high-density light-field is obtained. The captured data is employed for the calculation of computer hologram using ray-sampling plane. This technique enables high-resolution display even in deep 3D scene although a hologram is calculated from ray information, and thus it makes use of the important advantage of holographic 3D display.
文摘Generating and inserting new objects into 3D content is a compelling approach for achieving versatile scene recreation.Existing methods, which rely on SDS optimization or single-view inpainting, often struggle to produce high-quality results. To address this,we propose a novel method for object inser-tion in 3D content represented by Gaussian Splatting. Our approach introduces a multi-view diffusion model, dubbed MVInpainter, which is built upon a pre-trained stable video diffusion model to facilitate view-consistent object inpainting.Within MVInpainter,we incorporate a ControlNet-based conditional injection module to enable controlled and more predictable multi-view generation. After generating the multi-view inpainted results,we further propose a mask-aware 3D reconstruction technique to refine Gaussian Splatting reconstruction from these sparse inpainted views.By leveraging these fabricate techniques, our approach yields diverse results, ensures view-consistent and harmonious insertions, and produces better object quality.Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach outperforms existing methods.
