Furthermore, multi...In this work, a new method to deal with the unconnected pixels in motion compensated temporal filtering (MCTF) is presented, which is designed to improve the performance of 3D lifted wavelet coding. Furthermore, multiple description scalable coding (MDSC) is investigated, and novel MDSC schemes based on 3D wavelet coding are proposed, using the lifting imple- mentation of temporal filtering. The proposed MDSC schemes can avoid the mismatch problem in multiple description video coding, and have high scalability and robustness of video transmission. Experimental results showed that the proposed schemes are feasible and adequately effective.展开更多

In this paper, we discuss the background, technical features, and applications of AVS 3DV coding technology. We introduce two core techniques used in AVS 3DV coding: inter-view prediction and enhanced stereo packing coding. We elaborate on these techniques, which are used in the AVS real-time 3DV encoder. An application of the AVS 3DV coding system is presented to show the great practical value of this system. Simulation results show that the advanced techniques used in AVS 3DV coding provide remarkable coding gain compared with techniques used in a simulcast scheme.展开更多

Different from other audio coding approaches, the distance side information is also quantified, and the non-uniform perceptual quantization is proposed based on the spatial perception features of the human auditory system, which is named as concentric spheres spatial quantization(CSSQ) method. Comparison results were presented, which showed that a better distance perceptual quality of 3D audio can be enhanced by 5.7%~8.8% through extracting and coding the distance side information comparing with the directional audio coding, and the bit rate of our coding method is decreased of 8.07% comparing with the spatial squeeze surround audio coding.展开更多

Af...This paper presents an algorithm for coding video signal based on 3-D wavelet transformation. When the frame order t of a video signal is replaced by order 2, the video signal can be looked as a block in 3-D space. After splitting the block into smaller sub-blocks, imitate the method of 2-D wavelet transformation for images, we can transform the sub-blocks with 3-D wavelet. Most of video signal energy is in the decomposed low-frequency sub-bands. These sub-bands affect the visual quality of the video signal most. Quantizing different sub-bands with different precision and then entropy encoding each sub-band, we can eliminate inter- and intra-frame redundancy of the video signal and compress data. Our simulation experiments show that this algorithm can achieve very good result.展开更多

The algorithm adopts the 3D integer wavelet packet transform proposed by Xiong et al. to decorrelate, the set-based partitioning zeroblock coding to process bitplane coding and the con-text-based adaptive arithmetic coding for further entropy coding. The theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate that 3D SPEZBC not only provides the same excellent compression performances as 3D EZBC, but also reduces the memory requirement compared with 3D EZBC. For achieving good coding performance, the diverse wave-let filters and unitary scaling factors are compared and evaluated, and the best choices were given. In comparison with several state-of-the-art wavelet coding algorithms, the proposed algorithm provides better compression performance and unsupervised classification accuracy.展开更多
It is important to calibrate micro-parameters for applying partied flow code(PFC)to study mechanical characteristics and failure mechanism of rock materials.Uniform design method is firstly adopted to determine the mi...It is important to calibrate micro-parameters for applying partied flow code(PFC)to study mechanical characteristics and failure mechanism of rock materials.Uniform design method is firstly adopted to determine the microscopic parameters of parallel-bonded particle model for three-dimensional discrete element particle flow code(PFC3D).Variation ranges of microscopic of the microscopic parameters are created by analyzing the effects of microscopic parameters on macroscopic parameters(elastic modulus E,Poisson ratio v,uniaxial compressive strengthσc,and ratio of crack initial stress to uniaxial compressive strengthσci/σc)in order to obtain the actual uniform design talbe.The calculation equations of the microscopic and macroscopic parameters of rock materials can be established by the actual uniform design table and the regression analysis and thus the PFC3D microscopic parameters can be quantitatively determined.The PFC3D simulated results of the intact and pre-cracked rock specimens under uniaxial and triaxial compressions(including the macroscopic mechanical parameters,stress−strain curves and failure process)are in good agreement with experimental results,which can prove the validity of the calculation equations of microscopic and macroscopic parameters.展开更多

After the extension of depth modeling mode 4(DMM-4)in 3D high efficiency video coding(3D-HEVC),the computational complexity increases sharply,which causes the real-time performance of video coding to be impacted.To re...After the extension of depth modeling mode 4(DMM-4)in 3D high efficiency video coding(3D-HEVC),the computational complexity increases sharply,which causes the real-time performance of video coding to be impacted.To reduce the computational complexity of DMM-4,a simplified hardware-friendly contour prediction algorithm is proposed in this paper.Based on the similarity between texture and depth map,the proposed algorithm directly codes depth blocks to calculate edge regions to reduce the number of reference blocks.Through the verification of the test sequence on HTM16.1,the proposed algorithm coding time is reduced by 9.42%compared with the original algorithm.To avoid the time consuming of serial coding on HTM,a parallelization design of the proposed algorithm based on reconfigurable array processor(DPR-CODEC)is proposed.The parallelization design reduces the storage access time,configuration time and saves the storage cost.Verified with the Xilinx Virtex 6 FPGA,experimental results show that parallelization design is capable of processing HD 1080p at a speed above 30 frames per second.Compared with the related work,the scheme reduces the LUTs by 42.3%,the REG by 85.5%and the hardware resources by 66.7%.The data loading speedup ratio of parallel scheme can reach 3.4539.On average,the different sized templates serial/parallel speedup ratio of encoding time can reach 2.446.展开更多

Further the architecture is optimized by applying block enabling technique, scaling, and rounding of the filter coefficients. The proposed architecture uses biorthogonal (9/7) wavelet filter. The architecture is modeled using Verilog HDL, simulated using ModelSim, synthesized using Xilinx ISE and finally implemented on Virtex-5 FPGA.
