An iterative procedure based on Taylor's series expansion is used to generate a family of nondimensionalized postbuckling solutions of the above problem by von Karman's nonlinear plate theory. Attention is focused, herein, on the effects of the bridge force of through-thickness fibers on the buckling and postbuckling behavior of the delamination. It is found that fiber bridge not only increases the ability of resisting delamination buckling and postbuckling, but also brings on the jump of the delamination deflection mode during the postbuckling phase. Consequently the behavior of the composite structure with delamination is greatly improved, such as increasing the residual strength and prolonging the service life.展开更多

The model considers the effects of off axial tension/compression and bending/shearing couplings as well as the mutual reactions of fiber yarns. The method determining microstructure by using woven parameters is described for a typical 3D woven composite material. An analytical cell, constructed by a minimum periodic section of yarn and interlayer matrix, is adopted. Micro stresses in the cell under in-plane tensile loading are obtained by using the proposed beam model and macro modulus is then obtained by the averaging method. Material tests and a 2D micro FEM analysis are made to evaluate this model. Analyses reveal that micro stress caused by tensile/bending coupling effect is not negligible in the stress analysis.展开更多

With the limited basic properties of carbon fibers and carbon matrix, CTE of 3D braided C/C composites is obtained at 85 ~C. Transverse loading tests were conducted. Transverse load-deflection curves were obtained to analyze the effects of braiding parameters including the braiding angle, the wall thickness, and the diameter on the transverse loading of 3D circular braided composite tubes. Transverse load-deflection curves were obtained to analyze the effects of braiding parameters including the braiding angle, the wall thickness, and the diameter on the transverse loading of 3D circular braided composite tubes. Breaking loads, moduli and strengths had also been used to describe the transverse loading behaviors. The failure morphologies were shown to reveal damage mechanisms. From the results, the increase in braiding angle, wall thickness and diameter increases the ability of anti-deformation and breaking load of braided tubes. The breaking load of specimen with a braiding angle of 45° is about 1.68 times that of specimen with a braiding angle of 15°. The breaking load of specimen with 4 layers of yarns is about 2.15 times that of specimen with 2 layers of yarns. The breaking load of the tube with a diameter of 25.5 mm is about 2.39 times that of the tube with a diameter of 20.5 mm.

文摘The graded AlGaN:Si back barrier can form the majority of three-dimensional electron gases(3DEGs)at the GaN/graded AlGaN:Si heterostructure and create a composite two-dimensional(2D)-three-dimensional(3D)channel in AlGaN/GaN/graded-AlGaN:Si/GaN:C heterostructure(DH:Si/C).Frequency-dependent capacitances and conductance are measured to investigate the characteristics of the multi-temperature trap states of in DH:Si/C and AlGaN/GaN/GaN:C heterostructure(SH:C).There are fast,medium,and slow trap states in DH:Si/C,while only medium trap states exist in SH:C.The time constant/trap density for medium trap state in SH:C heterostructure are(11μs-17.7μs)/(1.1×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1-3.9×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1)and(8.7μs-14.1μs)/(0.7×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1-1.9×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1)at 300 K and 500 K respectively.The time constant/trap density for fast,medium,and slow trap states in DH:Si/C heterostructure are(4.2μs-7.7μs)/(1.5×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1-3.2×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1),(6.8μs-11.8μs)/(0.8×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1-2.8×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1),(30.1μs-151μs)/(7.5×10^12 cm^-2·eV^-1-7.8×10^12 cm^-2·eV^-1)at 300 K and(3.5μs-6.5μs)/(0.9×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1-1.8×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1),(4.9μs-9.4μs)/(0.6×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1-1.7×10^13 cm^-2·eV^-1),(20.6μs-61.9μs)/(3.2×10^12 cm^-2·eV^-1-3.5×10^12 cm^-2·eV^-1)at 500 K,respectively.The DH:Si/C structure can effectively reduce the density of medium trap states compared with SH:C structure.

文摘Currently, there are a limited number of dynamic models available for braided composite plates with large overall motions, despite the incorporation of three-dimensional(3D)braided composites into rotating blade components. In this paper,a dynamic model of 3D 4-directional braided composite thin plates considering braiding directions is established.Based on Kirchhoff's plate assumptions, the displacement variables of the plate are expressed.By incorporating the braiding directions into the constitutive equation of the braided composites, the dynamic model of the plate considering braiding directions is obtained. The effects of the speeds, braiding directions, and braided angles on the responses of the plate with fixed-axis rotation and translational motion, respectively, are investigated. This paper presents a dynamic theory for calculating the deformation of 3D braided composite structures undergoing both translational and rotational motions. It also provides a simulation method for investigating the dynamic behavior of non-isotropic material plates in various applications.

文摘The polymer-ceramic composite electrolyte is considered as one of promising electrolytes for solid-state battery. However,in previous research, ceramic particles are usually dispersed in polymer matrix and could not form continuous Li+conductive channels. The agglomeration of ceramic particles could also lead to low ionic conductivity and poor interfacial electrode/electrolyte contact. In this paper,self-supported porous Li_(6.4)La_(3) Zr_(1.4)Ta_(0.6)O_(12)(LLZTO) electrolyte is synthesized by gelcasting process, which possesses three-dimensional(3D) interconnected pore channels and relatively high strength. The 1,3-dioxolane(DOL) could penetrate into the porous LLZTO framework for its excellent fluidity. The subsequent in situ polymerization process by thermal treatment could completely fill the internal pores and improve the interfacial contact with electrode. The resulting 3D composite electrolyte with dual continuous Li+transport channels in ceramic and polymer components exhibits high ionic conductivity of 2.8 × 10^(-4) S·cm^(-1) at room temperature and low Li/electrolyte interfacial resistance of 94 Ω·cm^(2) at 40 ℃.The corresponding Li/Li symmetric cell delivers stable voltage profiles for over 600 h under 0.1 and 0.2 mA·cm^(-2).The solid-state Li/LiFePO_(4) battery shows superior rate and cycling performance under 0.1 C and 0.2 C.This work guides the preparation of composite electrolyte with dual continuous Li+conductive paths as well as high ceramic ratio and interface modification strategy for solid-state Li metal battery.

文摘The longitude tensile properties of 3-Dimension-4-directional(3D-4d) braided C/Si C composites(CMCs) were investigated with the help of a double scale model. This model involves micro-scale and unit-cell scale. In micro-scale, the tensile properties of fiber tows which involves matrix cracking, interfacial debonding, and fiber failure are studied. The unit-cell scale model can reflect the braided structure and simulate the tensile properties of 3D-4d CMCs by introducing the tensile properties of fiber tows into it. Quasi-static tensile tests of 3D-4d braided CMCs were performed on a PWS-100 test system. The predicted tensile stressstrain curve by the double scale model is in good agreement with that of the experimental results.
文摘The fatigue behavior and damage mechanisms of 2 D and 3 D carbon/epoxy composites with approximately the same 51% fiber volume fraction were investigated. A test program was conducted on fatigue residual strength and fatigue life under constant amplitude tensile fatigue loading. Equations of predicting the fatigue life for both 2 D and 3 D composites were provided. Comparison of the 2 D and 3 D composites indicated that due to the through thickness reinforcement, the 3 D composite has considerably better fatigue performance. Comparison of experimental data with calculation results shows good agreement, thus confirming the usefulness of the predictions.
文摘Honeycomb sandwich structures are widely used in lightweight applications.Usually, these structures are subjected to extreme loading conditions, leading to potential failures due to delamination and debonding between the face sheet and the honeycomb core. Therefore, the present study is focused on the mechanical characterisation of honeycomb sandwich structures fabricated using advanced 3D printing technology. The continuous carbon fibres and ONYX-FR matrix materials have been used as raw materials for 3D printing of the specimens needed for various mechanical characterization testing;ONYX-FR is a commercial trade name for flame retardant short carbon fibre filled nylon filaments, used as a reinforcing material in Morkforged 3D printer.Edgewise and flatwise compression tests have been conducted for different configurations of honeycomb sandwich structures, fabricated by varying the face sheet thickness and core cell size, while keeping the core cell thickness and core height constant.Based on these tests, the proposed structure with face sheet thickness of 3.2 mm and a core cell size of 12.7 mm exhibited the highest energy absorption and prevented delamination and debonding failures.Therefore,3D printing technology can also be considered as an alternative method for sandwich structure fabrication. However, detailed parametric studies still need to be conducted to meet various other structural integrity criteria related to the lightweight applications.

文摘Three-dimensional(3D)braided composites with better properties have been used in some particular industries. Some have had obvious signs of crack when they are braided.Others have had catastrophic failures occuring without warning.A new methodology for the analysis of failure modes in composite materials by means of acoustic emission techniques has been developed. The occurrence of fiber-breakage during tensile loading tests has been observed by the acoustic emission technology.Using acoustic emission technology is investigated as a means of monitoring 3D braided composites structures, detecting damage, and predicting impending damage. Some of the findings of the research project were presented.
