With the increasing complexity of substation inspection tasks,achieving efficient and safe path planning for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in densely populated and structurally complex three-dimensional(3D)environments rem...With the increasing complexity of substation inspection tasks,achieving efficient and safe path planning for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in densely populated and structurally complex three-dimensional(3D)environments remains a critical challenge.To address this problem,this paper proposes an improved path planning algorithm—Random Geometric Graph(RGG)-guided Rapidly-exploring Random Tree(R-RRT)—based on the classical Rapidly-exploring Random Tree(RRT)framework.First,a refined 3D occupancy grid map is constructed from Light Detection and Ranging point cloud data through ground filtering,noise removal,coordinate transformation,and obstacle inflation using spherical structuring elements.During the planning stage,a dynamic goal-biasing strategy is introduced to adaptively adjust the sampling direction,the sampling distribution is optimized using a pre-generated RGG,and collision detection is accelerated via a K-Dimensional Tree structure.After initial trajectory generation,redundant nodes are eliminated via greedy pruning,and a curvature-minimizing gradient-based optimizationmethod is applied to smooth the trajectory.Experimental results conducted in a simulated substation environment demonstrate that,compared with mainstream path planning algorithms,the proposed R-RRT achieves superior performance in terms of path length,planning time,and trajectory smoothness.Comprehensive analysis shows that the proposed method significantly enhances trajectory quality,planning efficiency,and operational safety,validating its applicability and advantages for high-precision 3D path planning in complex substation inspection scenarios.展开更多
AIM:To present the outcome of modified grid laser photocoagulation(GLP)in diffuse diabetic macular edema(DDME)in eyes without extrafoveal and/or vitreofoveal traction.METHODS:Inclusion criteria for the retrospective s...AIM:To present the outcome of modified grid laser photocoagulation(GLP)in diffuse diabetic macular edema(DDME)in eyes without extrafoveal and/or vitreofoveal traction.METHODS:Inclusion criteria for the retrospective study were DDME eyes of patients with typeⅡdiabetes mellitus that had≥4 months of follow-up following GLP.Only one eye per patient was analyzed.Using 3-D spectral-domain optical coherence tomography(3-D SDOCT),eyes that had either extrafoveal or vitreofoveal traction,or had been previously treated by an intravitreal medication(s)were excluded.Treated DDME eyes were divided into 4 groups:A)"Classic"DDME that involved the central macula;B)edema did not involve the macular center;C)eyes associated with central epiretinal membrane(ERM);D)DDME that was associated with macular capillary dropout≥2 disc-diameter(DD).RESULTS:GLP outcome in 35 DDME eyes after 4-24(mean,13.1±6.9)months was as follows:Group A)18eyes with"classic"DDME.Following one or 2(mean,1.2)GLP treatments,best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)improved by 1-2 Snellen lines in 44.4%(8/18)of eyes,and worsened by 1 line in 11.1%(2/18).Central macular thickness(CMT)improved by 7%-49%(mean,26.6%)in77.8%(14/18)of eyes.Causes of CMT worsening(n=4)were commonly explainable,predominantly(n=3)associated with emergence of extrafoveal traction,5-9months post-GLP.Group B)GLP(s)in DDME that did not involve the macular center(n=6)resulted in improved BCVA by 1-2 lines in 2 eyes.However,the central macula became involved in the edema process after the GLP in 3(50%)eyes,associated with an emergence of extrafoveal traction in one of these eyes 4months following the GLP.Group C)GLP failed in all 5eyes associated with central ERM.Group D)GLP was of partial benefit in 2 of 6 treated eyes with macular capillary dropout≥2DD.CONCLUSION:Eyes with DDME that involved the macular center were found to achieve favourable outcomes after GLP(s)during mid-term follow-up,unless complicated pre-GLP or post-GLP by vltreoretinal interface abnormalities,often extrafoveal traction or ERM,or by capillary dropout≥2DD.Prospective studies with larger cohorts are required.展开更多

Optimized sampling design can reduce the substantial costs an...Digital soil mapping (DSM) aims to produce detailed maps of soil properties or soil classes to improve agricultural management and soil quality assessment. Optimized sampling design can reduce the substantial costs and efforts associated with sampling, profile description, and laboratory analysis. The purpose of this study was to compare common sampling designs for DSM, including grid sampling (GS), grid random sampling (GRS), stratified random sampling (StRS), and conditioned Latin hypercube sampling (cLHS). In an agricultural field (11 ha) in Quebec, Canada, a total of unique 118 locations were selected using each of the four sampling designs (45 locations each), and additional 30 sample locations were selected as an independent testing dataset (evaluation dataset). Soil visible near-infrared (Vis-NIR) spectra were collected in situ at the 148 locations (1 m depth), and soil cores were collected from a subset of 32 locations and subdivided at 10-cm depth intervals, totaling 251 samples. The Cubist model was used to elucidate the relationship between Vis-NIR spectra and soil properties (soil organic matter (SOM) and clay), which was then used to predict the soil properties at all 148 sample locations. Digital maps of soil properties at multiple depths for the entire field (148 sample locations) were prepared using a quantile random forest model to obtain complete model maps (CM-maps). Soil properties were also mapped using the samples from each of the 45 locations for each sampling design to obtain sampling design maps (SD-maps). The SD-maps were evaluated using the independent testing dataset (30 sample locations), and the spatial distribution and model uncertainty of each SD-map were compared with those of the corresponding CM-map. The spatial and feature space coverage were compared across the four sampling designs. The results showed that GS resulted in the most even spatial coverage, cLHS resulted in the best coverage of the feature space, and GS and cLHS resulted in similar prediction accuracies and spatial distributions of soil properties. The SOM content was underestimated using GRS, with large errors at 0–50 cm depth, due to some values not being captured by this sampling design, whereas larger errors for the deeper soil layers were produced using StRS. Predictions of SOM and clay contents had higher accuracy for topsoil (0–30 cm) than for deep subsoil (60–100 cm). It was concluded that the soil sampling designs with either good spatial coverage or feature space coverage can provide good accuracy in 3D DSM, but their performances may be different for different soil properties.展开更多

The advection and horizontal diffusion terms in the momentum equation are discretized by an integral interpolation method on the orthogonal unstructured staggered mesh and, while it has the attractive property of being conservative. The pressure-correction algorithm is employed for the non-hydrostatic pressure in order to achieve second-order temporal accuracy. A conservative scalar transport algorithm is also applied to discretize k - c equations in this model. The eddy viscosity is calculated from the k-c turbulent model. The resulting model is mass and momentum conservative. The model is verified by two examples to simulate unsteady small amplitude free surface flows where non-hydrostatic pressures have a considerable effect on the velocity field, and then applied to simulate the tidal flow in the Bohai Sea.展开更多

End-to-end simulation has been carried out using the TRACK multiparticle simulation code to check the match between each acceleration section and the performance of the injector as a whole. Moreover, multiparticle simulations with all kinds of errors and misalignments have been performed to define the requirements of each device. A three-dimensional integrated model is developed for simulating transport and final fate of oil spills in seas.The model contains two main modules,flow and transport-fate modules.The flow module uses an unstructured ...A three-dimensional integrated model is developed for simulating transport and final fate of oil spills in seas.The model contains two main modules,flow and transport-fate modules.The flow module uses an unstructured finite-volume wave-ocean coupling model.Using unstructured meshes provides great flexibility for modeling the flow in complex geometries of tidal creeks,barriers and islands.In the transport-fate module the oil dispersion is solved using a particle-tracking method.Horizontal diffusion is simulated using random walk techniques in a Monte Carlo framework,whereas the vertical diffusion process is solved on the basis of the Langeven equation.The model simulates the most significant processes that affect the motion of oil particles,such as advection,surface spreading,evaporation,dissolution,emulsification and turbulent diffusion as well as the interaction of the oil particles with the shoreline,sedimentation and the temporal variations of oil viscosity,density and surface tension.The model simulates either continuous or instantaneous oil spills,and also other toxic matter.This model has been applied to simulate the oil spill accident in the Bohai Sea.In comparison with the observations,the numerical results indicate that the model is reasonably accurate.展开更多
Surfaces of stored grain bulk are often reconstructed from organized point sets with noise by 3-D laser scanner in an online measuring system.As a result,denoising is an essential procedure in processing point cloud d...Surfaces of stored grain bulk are often reconstructed from organized point sets with noise by 3-D laser scanner in an online measuring system.As a result,denoising is an essential procedure in processing point cloud data for more accurate surface reconstruction and grain volume calculation.A classified denoising method was presented in this research for noise removal from point cloud data of the grain bulk surface.Based on the distribution characteristics of cloud point data,the noisy points were divided into three types:The first and second types of the noisy points were either sparse points or small point cloud data deviating and suspending from the main point cloud data,which could be deleted directly by a grid method;the third type of the noisy points was mixed with the main body of point cloud data,which were most difficult to distinguish.The point cloud data with those noisy points were projected into a horizontal plane.An image denoising method,discrete wavelet threshold(DWT)method,was applied to delete the third type of the noisy points.Three kinds of denoising methods including average filtering method,median filtering method and DWT method were applied respectively and compared for denoising the point cloud data.Experimental results show that the proposed method remains the most of the details and obtains the lowest average value of RMSE(Root Mean Square Error,0.219)as well as the lowest relative error of grain volume(0.086%)compared with the other two methods.Furthermore,the proposed denoising method could not only achieve the aim of removing noisy points,but also improve self-adaptive ability according to the characteristics of point cloud data of grain bulk surface.The results from this research also indicate that the proposed method is effective for denoising noisy points and provides more accurate data for calculating grain volume.展开更多
With the unstructured grid, the Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model(FVCOM) is converted from its original FORTRAN code to a Compute Unified Device Architecture(CUDA) C code, and optimized on the Graphic Processor U...With the unstructured grid, the Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model(FVCOM) is converted from its original FORTRAN code to a Compute Unified Device Architecture(CUDA) C code, and optimized on the Graphic Processor Unit(GPU). The proposed GPU-FVCOM is tested against analytical solutions for two standard cases in a rectangular basin, a tide induced flow and a wind induced circulation. It is then applied to the Ningbo's coastal water area to simulate the tidal motion and analyze the flow field and the vertical tide velocity structure. The simulation results agree with the measured data quite well. The accelerated performance of the proposed 3-D model reaches 30 times of that of a single thread program, and the GPU-FVCOM implemented on a Tesla k20 device is faster than on a workstation with 20 CPU cores, which shows that the GPU-FVCOM is efficient for solving large scale sea area and high resolution engineering problems.展开更多

文摘With the unstructured grid, the Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Model(FVCOM) is converted from its original FORTRAN code to a Compute Unified Device Architecture(CUDA) C code, and optimized on the Graphic Processor Unit(GPU). The proposed GPU-FVCOM is tested against analytical solutions for two standard cases in a rectangular basin, a tide induced flow and a wind induced circulation. It is then applied to the Ningbo's coastal water area to simulate the tidal motion and analyze the flow field and the vertical tide velocity structure. The simulation results agree with the measured data quite well. The accelerated performance of the proposed 3-D model reaches 30 times of that of a single thread program, and the GPU-FVCOM implemented on a Tesla k20 device is faster than on a workstation with 20 CPU cores, which shows that the GPU-FVCOM is efficient for solving large scale sea area and high resolution engineering problems.
