We demonstrate a high-speed rotating slit beam shaping method for femtosecond(fs)laser three-dimensional(3D)isotropic inscription in glass materials.By integrating fs laser direct writing with a real-time rotating slit mechanism,a 3D symmetric spherical focal field distribution is created in the laser-irradiated regions of transparent substrates.The corresponding focal field distribution is theoretically calculated and validated by examining the features of laser-inscribed lines in glass samples.Moreover,we investigate the influences of laser writing speed and slit rotational speed on the fabrication resolution in glass,and discuss the formation mechanism of the generated periodic microstructures.To showcase its powerful capability for3D isotropic fabrication,the high-speed rotating slit beam shaping method is applied to create straight optical waveguides,bending optical waveguides,and hollow microchannels in the glass.The proposed method holds great potential for the facile manufacture of diverse 3D isotropic microstructures and devices within transparent materials across various applications,including advanced photonics,microoptics,micro-electromechanical systems,and microfluidics. 展开更多

With respect to oceanic fluid dynamics,certain models have appeared,e.g.,an extended time-dependent(3+1)-dimensional shallow water wave equation in an ocean or a river,which we investigate in this paper.Using symbolic computation,we find out,on one hand,a set of bilinear auto-Backlund transformations,which could connect certain solutions of that equation with other solutions of that equation itself,and on the other hand,a set of similarity reductions,which could go from that equation to a known ordinary differential equation.The results in this paper depend on all the oceanic variable coefficients in that equation. 展开更多

This paper proposes a novel cargo loading algorithm applicable to automated conveyor-type loading systems.The algorithm offers improvements in computational efficiency and robustness by utilizing the concept of discrete derivatives and introducing logistics-related constraints.Optional consideration of the rotation of the cargoes was made to further enhance the optimality of the solutions,if possible to be physically implemented.Evaluation metrics were developed for accurate evaluation and enhancement of the algorithm’s ability to efficiently utilize the loading space and provide a high level of dynamic stability.Experimental results demonstrate the extensive robustness of the proposed algorithm to the diversity of cargoes present in Business-to-Consumer environments.This study contributes practical advancements in both cargo loading optimization and automation of the logistics industry,with potential applications in last-mile delivery services,warehousing,and supply chain management. 展开更多

Bone Regeneration Efficacy and Applicability of Defect-Fitting 4D Scaffolds Based on Shape Conformity in Three-dimensional Curved Bone Defects

Recent advances in bone regeneration have introduced the concept of four-dimensional(4D)scaffolds that can undergo morphological and functional changes in response to external stimuli.While several studies have proposed patient-specific designs for defect sites,they often fail to adequately distinguish the advantages of 4D scaffolds over conventional 3D counterparts.This study aimed to investigate the potential benefits of 4D scaffolds in clinically challenging scenarios involving curved defects,where fixation is difficult.We proposed the use of Shape-Memory Polymers(SMPs)as a solution to address critical issues in personalized scaffold fabrication,including dimensional accuracy,measurement error,and manufacturing imprecision.Experimental results demonstrated that the Curved-Layer Fused Deposition Modeling(CLFDM)scaffold,which offers superior conformability to curved defects,achieved significantly higher interfacial contact with the defect area compared to traditional Fused Deposition Modeling(FDM)scaffolds.Specifically,the CLFDM scaffold facilitated bone regeneration of 25.59±4.72 mm^(3),which is more than twice the 9.37±1.36 mm^(3)observed with the 3D FDM scaffold.Furthermore,the 4D CLFDM scaffold achieved 75.38±11.65 mm^(3)of new bone formation after four weeks,approximately three times greater than that of the 3D CLFDM scaffold,regardless of surface micro-roughness.These results underscore that improved geometrical conformity between the scaffold and the defect site enhances cellular infiltration and contributes to more effective bone regeneration.The findings also highlight the promise of 4D scaffolds as a compelling strategy to overcome geometric and dimensional mismatches in the design of patient-specific scaffolds. 展开更多

In this article,a Generalized Calogero-Bogoyavlenskii-Schiff(CBS)equation is studied,serving as an extended shallow water wave model in higher dimensions.Firstly,utilizing the Bell polynomial method,the bilinear form of the equation,bilinear Bäcklund transformation,Lax pair and infinite conservation laws are derived,confirming the equation’s complete integrability in the context of the Lax pair.Subsequently,the nonlinear superposition formula of the equation is constructed based on the derived bilinear Bäcklund transformation and an array of infinite superposition soliton solutions of the equation are formulated using this nonlinear superposition formula.Lastly,leveraging the obtained bilinear equation,infinite superposition solutions of various functional types are constructed.Their dynamic characteristics are analyzed through illustrated solution images.It is noteworthy that this paper not only uncovers a multitude of properties through the Bell polynomial method but also derives both infinite linear and nonlinear superposition solutions,enriching the diversity of solutions,these aspects have not been previously explored in existing literature. 展开更多

The(3+1)-dimensional Zakharov–Kuznetsov(ZK) and the new extended quantum ZK equations are functional to decipher the dense quantum plasma, ion-acoustic waves, electron thermal energy,ion plasma, quantum acoustic waves, and quantum Langmuir waves. The enhanced modified simple equation(EMSE) method is a substantial approach to determine competent solutions and in this article, we have constructed standard, illustrative, rich structured and further comprehensive soliton solutions via this method. The solutions are ascertained as the integration of exponential, hyperbolic,trigonometric and rational functions and formulate the bright solitons, periodic, compacton, bellshape, parabolic shape, singular periodic, plane shape and some new type of solitons. It is worth noting that the wave profile varies as the physical and subsidiary parameters change. The standard and advanced soliton solutions may be useful to assist in describing the physical phenomena previously mentioned. To open out the inward structure of the tangible incidents, we have portrayed the three-dimensional, contour plot, and two-dimensional graphs for different parametric values. The attained results demonstrate the EMSE technique for extracting soliton solutions to nonlinear evolution equations is efficient, compatible and reliable in nonlinear science and engineering. 展开更多

This complex feature made cloverleaf junction quite different from buildings and terrain, therefore, it is difficult to express this kind of spatial objects in the same way as for buildings and terrain. In this paper,authors analyze spatial characteristics of cloverleaf junction, propose an all-constraint points TIN algorithm to partition cloverleaf junction road surface, and develop a method to visualize cloverleaf junction road surface using TIN. In order to manage cloverleaf junction data efficiently, the authors also analyzed the mechanism of 3DCM data management, extended BLOB type in relational database, and combined R-tree index to manage 3D spatial data. This study examined the dynamic characteristics of upper airway collapse at soft palate level in patients with obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) by using dynamic 3-Dimensional(3-D) CT imaging.A total of 41 male patients who presented with 2 of the following symptoms,i.e.,daytime sleepiness and fatigue,frequent snoring,and apnea with witness,were diagnosed as having OSAHS.They underwent full-night polysomnography and then dynamic 3-D CT imaging of the upper airway during quiet breathing and in Muller's maneuver.The soft palate length(SPL),the minimal cross-sectional area of the retropalatal region(mXSA-RP),and the vertical distance from the hard palate to the upper posterior part of the hyoid(hhL) were compared between the two breathing states.These parameters,together with hard palate length(HPL),were also compared between mild/moderate and severe OSAHS groups.Association of these parameters with the severity of OSAHS [as reflected by apnea hypopnea index(AHI) and the lowest saturation of blood oxygen(LSaO2)] was examined.The results showed that 31 patients had severe OSAHS,and 10 mild/moderate OSAHS.All the patients had airway obstruction at soft palate level.mXSA-RP was significantly decreased and SPL remarkably increased during Muller's maneuver as compared with the quiet breathing state.There were no significant differences in these airway parameters(except the position of the hyoid bone) between severe and mild/moderate OSAHS groups.And no significant correlation between these airway parameters and the severity of OSAHS was found.The position of hyoid was lower in the severe OSAHS group than in the mild/moderate OSAHS group.The patients in group with body mass index(BMI)≥26 had higher collapse ratio of mXSA-RP,greater neck circumference and smaller mXSA-RP in the Muller's maneuver than those in group with BMI26(P0.05 for all).It was concluded that dynamic 3-D CT imaging could dynamically show the upper airway changes at soft palate level in OSAHS patients.All the OSAHS patients had airway obstruction of various degrees at soft palate level.But no correlation was observed between the airway change at soft palate level and the severity of OSAHS.The patients in group with BMI≥26 were more likely to develop airway obstruction at soft palate level than those with BMI26. 展开更多

As an essential field of multimedia and computer vision,3D shape recognition has attracted much research attention in recent years.Multiview-based approaches have demonstrated their superiority in generating effective 3D shape representations.Typical methods usually extract the multiview global features and aggregate them together to generate 3D shape descriptors.However,there exist two disadvantages:First,the mainstream methods ignore the comprehensive exploration of local information in each view.Second,many approaches roughly aggregate multiview features by adding or concatenating them together.The information loss for some discriminative characteristics limits the representation effectiveness.To address these problems,a novel architecture named region-based joint attention network(RJAN)was proposed.Specifically,the authors first design a hierarchical local information exploration module for view descriptor extraction.The region-to-region and channel-to-channel relationships from different granularities can be comprehensively explored and utilised to provide more discriminative characteristics for view feature learning.Subsequently,a novel relation-aware view aggregation module is designed to aggregate the multiview features for shape descriptor generation,considering the view-to-view relationships.Extensive experiments were conducted on three public databases:ModelNet40,ModelNet10,and ShapeNetCore55.RJAN achieves state-of-the-art performance in the tasks of 3D shape classification and 3D shape retrieval,which demonstrates the effectiveness of RJAN.The code has been released on https://github.com/slurrpp/RJAN. 展开更多

The layout feature of the parallelmanipulator is described. Its force/motion transmission capability, evaluation criteria arepresented. At the orthogonal configuration, the criteria and the relationships between the criteriaand the link lengths are analyzed, which is important since it can provide designer a piece ofvaluable information about how to choose the linear actuators. From the analysis of the results itis shown that the force/motion transmission capabilities of the parallel manipulator arecharacterized by isotropy at the orthogonal configuration. The problem with the former is the poor sensitivity to various defocusing amounts, and the problem with the latter is that it cannot enhance phase quality directly nor efficiently. In this paper, we present a multi-objective optimization framework for three-dimensional(3D) measurement by utilizing binary defocusing technique. Moreover, a binary patch optimization technique is used to solve the time-consuming issue of genetic algorithm. It is demonstrated that the presented technique consistently obtains significant phase performance improvement under various defocusing amounts. 展开更多

We obtain exact spatiotemporal similaritons to a (3+ l)-dimensional inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrodinger equation, which describes the propagation of optical pulses in a cubic-quintic nonlinearity medium with distributed dispersion and gain. A one-to-one correspondence between such self-similar waves and solutions of the elliptic equation is found when a certain compatibility condition is satisfied. Based on exact solutions, we discuss evolutional behaviors of self-similar cnoidal waves and chirped similaritons in two kind of typicai soliton control systems. Moreover, the comparison between chirped similaritons and chirp-free solitons is given. 展开更多

In a sample quenched during equiaxed solidification of an Al-5 wt.% Cu alloy, the multi-scales 3-dimensional morphology of equiaxed dendrite was observed. The slim primary stem and secondary branches constitute the frame of dendrite, and rows of dense tertiary branches further divide the 3-dimensional space. In the divided space, the quartic branches grow further. The dendritic branches,which are perpendicular to each other, can change their growth directions and coalesce into a whole. In the tertiary branches and quartic branches, the formation of double branch structures is induced by competitive growth. The branch that wins in the competitive growth will produce a cabbage-like structure by wrapping the failed branches. In addition, the side branch can also wrap the original parent branch to produce cabbage-like structures. Depending on the historical growth direction, the dendritic arms can form vein-like and spicate structures, and the shapes of single dendritic arm may be the cylinder, plate and trapezoid platform. According to the compositions and etching morphology, the single dendritic arm in the final solidification structures should coalesce from a fine porous structure. The porous structures at different length-scales are principally induced by the preferential growth. Based on 3-dimensional morphology of equiaxed dendrite, a new research object for the investigation of microsegregation was suggested. 展开更多

The auto-BT obtained by using our method only involves one quadratic homogeneity equation written as a bilinear equation.
