Supramolecular hydrogels based on polymer inclusion complexes (ICs) between PmPEG and α-cyclodextriri (α-CD) were prepared in aqueous solution. The rheological measurements indicated their gelation properties were affected by several factors including the mPEG length, graft density and the sample concentration. These hydrogels displayed thermo-sensitive gel-sol transition under appropriate conditions due to the reversible mPEG and α-CD inclusion complexation. These hydrogels also showed pH-sensitive behavior due to the deprotonate of carboxylic acid side groups. The ICs formation of a channel-type crystalline structure induced gelation mechanism was verified by various techniques. In vitro cytotoxicity assays demonstrated that the supramolecular hydrogels are nontoxic and cytocompatible.展开更多

The mechanism responsible for the moder‐ate activity and enantioselectivity of the β‐cyclodextrin derivatives was explored using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, namely 2D 1H rotating‐frame overhauser effect spectroscopy (ROESY), ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy, and quantum chemical calculations, which provide a useful technique for investigating the formation of inclusion complexes. The effects of the pH of the reaction medium, theβ‐cyclodextrin derivative dosage, the structure of the modifying amino group, and various substrates on the yield and enantioselectivity were investigated. The results indicated that these factors had an important effect on the enantiomeric excess (ee) in the reaction system. Experiments using a competitor for inclusion complex formation showed that a hydrophobic cavity is necessary for enantioselective Michael addition. A comparison of the reactions using 4‐nitro‐β‐nitrostyrene and 2‐nitro‐β‐nitrostyrene showed that steric hindrance improved the enan‐tioselectivity. This was verified by the optimized geometries obtained from quantum chemical cal‐culations. An ee of 71%was obtained in the asymmetric Michael addition of cyclohexanone and 2‐nitro‐β‐nitrostyrene, using (S)‐2‐aminomethylpyrrolidine‐modified β‐CD as the catalyst, in an aqueous buffer solution, i.e., CH3COONa‐HCl (pH 7.5).展开更多

The influence of different concentrations of 2-hydroxypropyl-β- eyclodextrin on the stability of dihydroartemisinin at 50, 60, 70 and 80 ℃ was also studied. Inclusion complex of dihydroartemisinin with 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin was prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry. The 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin effectively inhibited the hydrolysis of dihydroartemisinin and greatly increased its solubility. Furthermore, we showed that the higher concentrations of 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin, the better stability and solubility of dihydroartemisinin. Inclusion complex formation between α-cyclodextrin (α-CD), ofloxacin (OFL) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) was prepared via two methods to produce nanocontainers with desirable stability. The effect of PEG as compatible solubilizing agent and mixing condition (in ultrasonic bath) were investigated in formation of an inclusion complex between α-CD/OFL. Obtained complexes were examined by FTIR, H-NMR, SEM, EDX and UV which indicated the formation of an inclusion complex between α-CD/OFL, in turn, is a mixture of the cage and channel structures. Differences between 1H-NMR, FTIR and XRD spectra of OFL, CDs and inclusion complex indicated the formation of α-CD/OFL and supramolecular containers in solid phase. These inclusion complexes loaded in PVA-based nanofibers for smart nanofibers with controlled release manner and higher stability of OFL. These findings urged us to investigate whether different formation conditions of the molecule-ion system between Li2CO3 and β-CD in solid state were involved in different spectral performances. To answer the question, we prepared three adducts of Li2CO3 to β-CD, i.e., samples 1, 2, and 3, by magnetic stirring, solvothermal and grinding conditions, respectively. Powder X-ray diffraction and Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy provided the information of formation of the three molecule-ion adducts. Besides, scanning electron microscope images provided different surface information of the three adducts. Further, significant spectral differences in thermal behavior of these adducts were found by thermogravimetry and derivative thermogravimetry.展开更多

The effect of α-CD inclusion to the self-assembly behavior of methoxy polyethylene glycol(mPEG) grafted chitosan(CS) was studied. The results showed that the mPEG grafted chitosan(mPEG-g-CS) forms self-assembled nanoparticles with either micelle or hollow sphere morphology depending on the ratio of α-CD to mPEG, as characterized by atomic force microscopy(AFM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and X-ray diffraction(XRD). Their sizes and zeta potential increased from 257.6 nmto 768.2 nm and from +4.5 mV to +11.6 mV, respectively, with the increasing amount of α-CD. The correlation between zeta potential and particle size of α-CD/mPEG-g-CS nanoparticles indicated varied PEG density on surface of nanoparticles. Based on the above experimental observations, a likely mechanism for the morphological transition of the rod-coil graft copolymer mPEG-g-CS was proposed.展开更多

To address the associated environmental problems, this study was initiated to investigate the feasibility of using carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrin(CMCD) and carboxymethyl chitosan(CMC) solution to enhance ex situ soil washing for extracting mixed contaminants. Further,Tenax extraction method was combined with a first-three-compartment model to evaluate the environmental risk of residual PAHs in washed soil. In addition, the redistribution of heavy metals/F after decontamination was also estimated using a sequential extraction procedure. Three successive washing cycles using50 g/L CMCD and 5 g/L CMC solution were effective to remove 94.3% of total PAHs,93.2% of Pb,85.8% of Cd,93.4% of Cr,83.2% of Ni and 97.3% of F simultaneously. After the 3rd washing, the residual PAHs mainly existed as very slowly desorbing fractions, which were in the form of well-aged,well-sequestered compounds; while the remaining Pb,Cd,Cr,Ni and F mainly existed as Fe–Mn oxide and residual fractions, which were always present in stable mineral forms or bound to non-labile soil fractions. Therefore, this combined cleanup strategy proved to be effective and environmentally friendly.展开更多

Obtained nanofiber showed that nanofibers containing CDs/OFL under sonic energy containing higher degree of OFL.

文摘A small shielding effect on the hydrogen atoms of chiral carbons of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) was detected by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance, but a large environmental change of the chiral carbon atoms at high concentration ratios of lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) to β-CD was observed by polarimetry in aqueous solution. Further, significant spectral differences in thermal behavior of these adducts were found by thermogravimetry and derivative thermogravimetry.

文摘This paper presented an interesting nanoparticle-based drug delivery system with morphology transition behavior depending on the content of exposed PEG chain on the particle surface, which is adjustable by addition of different amount of cyclodextrin(α-CD). Based on the above experimental observations, a likely mechanism for the morphological transition of the rod-coil graft copolymer mPEG-g-CS was proposed.

文摘A facile, efficient and substrate-selective oxidation of aldehydes to carboxylic acids with NaClO catalyzed by β-cyclodextrin in water has been developed. A series of aldehydes which could form inclusion complex with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) were oxidized selectively with excellent yields.
文摘The goal of this study was to improve the solubility and oral bioavailability of tamibarotene by complexing it with hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin(HP-β-CD).The inclusion complex of tamibarotene with hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin(Am80-HP-β-CD)was prepared through a freeze-drying method at the mole ratio of 1:1(Am80:HP-β-CD).Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)indicated the formation of Am80-HP-β-CD.In vitro dissolution studies showed that the solubility and dissolution percentage of Am80-HP-β-CD was improved substantially compared to Am80.An improved dissolution with approximately 97%drug release in 3 min was observed,in comparison with Am80 with approximately 60% release in 45 min.In vivo studies indicated that the AUC0-∞ has increased 2.79 times and the Cmax 4.37 times after the formation of inclusion complex. The decrease of tmaxindicated the Am80-HP-β-CD inclusion complex can be absorbed into blood faster. In short, the solubility and bio-availability of Am80 has notably increased with the complexation of HP-β-CD.Therefore,using the inclusion technique is a promising method to improve the solubility of insoluble drugs.

文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)/heavy metals/fluorine(F) mixed-contaminated sites caused by abandoned metallurgic plants are receiving wide attention. Therefore, this combined cleanup strategy proved to be effective and environmentally friendly.
文摘In this work,in order to obtain deep clean gas oil,a novel organic–inorganic hybrid(n-C4H9)4N)7H5Si2W18Cd4O68@β-cyclodextrin(abbreviated as TBA-Si WCd@β-CD)composite was synthesized by supporting quaternary ammonium salt of sandwich-type polysilicotungstate onβ-cyclodextrin(TBA-SiWCd@β-CD)as an efficient catalyst for oxidative desulfurization(ODS)of gas oil.The successful composition of the materials explained by the formation of host–vip inclusion complex, which confirmed through FTIR,UV–vis,XRD,SEM,and EDX characterization analyses.Experimental results revealed that the levels of sulfur content and mercaptan compounds of gas oil lowered with 97%removal efficiency.Compared with the ODS treatment of gas oil,the TBA-Si WCd@β-CD composite showed an outstanding catalytic performance for the oxidation of dibenzothiophene(DBT)in the prepared model fuel. The main factors that influence the desulfurization efficiency and the kinetic study of the ODS process were investigated. The prepared heterogeneous catalyst was found to give remarkable reusability for five runs without a discernible decrease in its activity. This study suggested the potential application of the TBA-Si WCd@β-CD catalyst for removal of hazardous sulfur compounds from gas oil fuel.
文摘The inclusion-complex of CD-MCP (β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) including 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP)) was prepared and characterized. Basing on programmed-heating procedure and weight-temperature analysis, as well as the application of Satava-Sestak's, Ozawa's and Kissinger's methods, the mechanism and kinetics of thermal dissociation of this inclusion complex were studied. An additional mass loss is found at 170-180℃. The mechanism of thermal dissociation of CD-MCP is dominated by a one-dimensional random nucleation and subsequent growth process (A2/3). The activation energy Es and the pre-exponential factor AS for the process are 102.14 kJ/mol and 3.63×10^10s^-1, respectively. This ES value shows that there is no strong chemical intere, ctions between β-CD and 1-MC;P,

文摘Chiral covalent organic frameworks(CCOFs) featuring chirality, stability, and good porosity have attracted a considerable amount of attention due to their important applications, such as asymmetric catalysis, chiral separation, and chiral recognition. In this study, a β-cyclodextrin(β-CD) covalent organic framework(β-CD-COF) diluted with polysiloxane OV-1701 was explored as a novel chiral stationary phase(CSP) for gas chromatography(GC) separation of racemates. The β-CD-COF coated capillary column had excellent selectivity, not only for the separation of linear alkanes, linear alcohols, fatty acid methyl esters mixture, the Grob mixture and positional isomers, but also for the resolution of chiral compounds, including chiral alcohols, aldehydes, ethers, and amino acid derivatives. In addition, the β-CD-COF-coated capillary column presented good repeatability and reproducibility. This work indicated the great potential of the CCOFs coated capillary column for the chromatographic separation of enantiomers.
