A Review of the Hydrodynamic Damping Characteristics of Blade-like Structures:Focus on the Quantitative Identification Methods and Key Influencing Parameters 被引量:1

Ocean energy has progressively gained considerable interest due to its sufficient potential to meet the world’s energy demand,and the blade is the core component in electricity generation from the ocean current.However,the widened hydraulic excitation frequency may satisfy the blade resonance due to the time variation in the velocity and angle of attack of the ocean current,even resulting in blade fatigue and destructively interfering with grid stability.A key parameter that determines the resonance amplitude of the blade is the hydrodynamic damping ratio(HDR).However,HDR is difficult to obtain due to the complex fluid-structure interaction(FSI).Therefore,a literature review was conducted on the hydrodynamic damping characteristics of blade-like structures.The experimental and simulation methods used to identify and obtain the HDR quantitatively were described,placing emphasis on the experimental processes and simulation setups.Moreover,the accuracy and efficiency of different simulation methods were compared,and the modal work approach was recommended.The effects of key typical parameters,including flow velocity,angle of attack,gap,rotational speed,and cavitation,on the HDR were then summarized,and the suggestions on operating conditions were presented from the perspective of increasing the HDR.Subsequently,considering multiple flow parameters,several theoretical derivations and semi-empirical prediction formulas for HDR were introduced,and the accuracy and application were discussed.Based on the shortcomings of the existing research,the direction of future research was finally determined.The current work offers a clear understanding of the HDR of blade-like structures,which could improve the evaluation accuracy of flow-induced vibration in the design stage. 展开更多

A Boundary-Type Meshless Method for Traction Identification in Two-Dimensional Anisotropic Elasticity and Investigating the Effective Parameters

The identification of the traction acting on a portion of the surface of an anisotropic solid is very important in structural health monitoring and optimal design of structures. The traction can be determined using inverse methods in which displacement or strain measurements are taken at several points on the body. This paper presents an inverse method based on the method of fundamental solutions for the traction identification problem in two-dimensional anisotropic elasticity. The method of fundamental solutions is an efficient boundary-type meshless method widely used for analyzing various problems. Since the problem is linear, the sensitivity analysis is simply performed by solving the corresponding direct problem several times with different loads. The effects of important parameters such as the number of measurement data, the position of the measurement points, the amount of measurement error, and the type of measurement, i.e., displacement or strain, on the results are also investigated. The results obtained show that the presented inverse method is suitable for the problem of traction identification. It can be concluded from the results that the use of strain measurements in the inverse analysis leads to more accurate results than the use of displacement measurements. It is also found that measurement points closer to the boundary with unknown traction provide more reliable solutions. Additionally, it is found that increasing the number of measurement points increases the accuracy of the inverse solution. However, in cases with a large number of measurement points, further increasing the number of measurement data has little effect on the results. 展开更多

Seismic attributes encapsulate substantial reservoir characterization information and can effectively support reservoir prediction.Given the high-dimensional nonlinear between sandbodies and seismic attributes,this study employs the RFECV method for seismic attribute selection,inputting the optimized attributes into a LightGBM model to enhance spatial delineation of sandbody identification.By constructing training datasets based on optimized seismic attributes and well logs,followed by class imbalance correction as input variables for machine learning models,with sandbody probability as the output variable,and employing grid search to optimize model parameters,a high-precision sandbody prediction model was established.Taking the 3D seismic data of Block F3 in the North Sea of Holland as an example,this method successfully depicted the three-dimensional spatial distribution of target formation sandstones.The results indicate that even under strong noise conditions,the multi-attribute sandbody identification method based on LightGBM effectively characterizes the distribution features of sandbodies.Compared to unselected attributes,the prediction results using selected attributes have higher vertical resolution and inter-well conformity,with the prediction accuracy for single wells reaching 80.77%,significantly improving the accuracy of sandbody boundary delineation. 展开更多

The types and structures of inorganic pores are key factors in evaluations of the reservoir space and distribution characteristics of shale oil and gas.However,quantitative identification methods for pores of different inorganic components have not yet been fully developed.For this reason,a quantitative characterization method of inorganic pores using pixel information was proposed in this study.A machine learning algorithm was used to assist the field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)image processing of shale to realize the accurate identification and quantitative characterization of inorganic pores on the surface of high-precision images of shale with a small view.Moreover,large-view image splicing technology,combined with quantitative evaluation of minerals by scanning electron microscopy(QEMSCAN)image joint characterization technology,was used to accurately analyze the distribution characteristics of inorganic pores under different mineral components.The quantitative methods of pore characteristics of different inorganic components under the pixel information of shale were studied.The results showed that(1)the Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis(WEKA)machine learning model can effectively identify and extract shale mineral components and inorganic pore distribution,and the large-view FE-SEM images are representative of samples at the 200μm×200μm view scale,meeting statistical requirements and eliminating the influence of heterogeneity;(2)the pores developed by different mineral components of shale had obvious differences,indicating that the development of inorganic pores is highly correlated with the properties of shale minerals themselves;and(3)the pore-forming ability of different mineral components is calculated by the quantitative method of single component pore-forming coefficient.Chlorite showed the highest pore-forming ability,followed by(in descending order)illite,pyrite,calcite,dolomite,albite,orthoclase,quartz,and apatite.This study contributes to advancing our understanding of inorganic pore characteristics in shale. 展开更多

In order to save manpower and time costs,and to achieve simultaneous detection of multiple animal-derived components in meat and meat products,this study used multiple nucleotide polymorphism(MNP)marker technology based on the principle of high-throughput sequencing,and established a multi-locus 10 animalderived components identification method of cattle,goat,sheep,donkey,horse,chicken,duck,goose,pigeon,quail in meat and meat products.The specific loci of each species could be detected and the species could be accurately identified,including 5 loci for cattle and duck,3 loci for sheep,9 loci for chicken and horse,10 loci for goose and pigeon,6 loci for quail and 1 locus for donkey and goat,and an adulteration model was established to simulate commercially available samples.The results showed that the method established in this study had high throughput,good repeatability and accuracy,and was able to identify 10 animalderived components simultaneously with 100%repeatability accuracy.The detection limit was 0.1%(m/m)in simulated samples of chicken,duck and horse.Using the method established in this study to test commercially available samples,4 samples from 14 commercially available samples were detected to be inconsistent with the labels,of which 2 did not contain the target ingredient and 2 were adulterated with small amounts of other ingredients. 展开更多

The Vortex Particle Method(VPM)is a meshless Lagrangian vortex method.Its low numerical dissipation is exceptionally suitable for wake simulation.Nevertheless,the inadequate numerical stability of VPM prevents its widespread application in high Reynolds number flow and shear turbulence.To better simulate these flows,this paper proposes the stability-enhanced VPM based on a Reformulated VPM(RVPM)constrained by conservation of angular momentum,integrating a relaxation scheme to suppress the divergence of the vorticity field,and further coupling the Sub-Grid Scale(SGS)model to account for the turbulence dissipation caused by vortex advection and vortex stretching.The validity of the RVPM is confirmed by simulating an isolated vortex ring's evolution.The results also demonstrate that the relaxation scheme of vorticity enhances the numerical stability of the VPM by mitigating the divergence of the vorticity field.The leapfrogging vortex rings simulation demonstrates that the RVPM with the present SGS model can more precisely feature the leapfrog and fusion of vortex rings and has improved numerical stability in high Reynolds number flows.The round turbulent jet simulation confirms that the stability-enhanced VPM can stably simulate shear turbulence and accurately resolve fluctuating components and Reynolds stresses in the turbulence. 展开更多

An Objective Synoptic Analysis Technique for the Identification of Tropical Cyclone Remote Precipitation in China and Its Application

At present,the identification of tropical cyclone remote precipitation(TRP)requires subjective participation,leading to inconsistent results among different researchers despite adopting the same identification standard.Thus,establishing an objective identification method is greatly important.In this study,an objective synoptic analysis technique for TRP(OSAT_TRP)is proposed to identify TRP using daily precipitation datasets,historical tropical cyclone(TC)track data,and the ERA5 reanalysis data.This method includes three steps:first,independent rain belts are separated,and those that might relate to TCs'remote effects are distinguished according to their distance from the TCs.Second,the strong water vapor transport belt from the TC is identified using integrated horizontal water vapor transport(IVT).Third,TRP is distinguished by connecting the first two steps.The TRP obtained through this method can satisfy three criteria,as follows:1)the precipitation occurs outside the circulation of TCs,2)the precipitation is affected by TCs,and 3)a gap exists between the TRP and TC rain belt.Case diagnosis analysis,compared with subjective TRP results and backward trajectory analyses using HYSPLIT,indicates that OSAT_TRP can distinguish TRP even when multiple TCs in the Northwest Pacific are involved.Then,we applied the OSAT_TRP to select typical TRPs and obtained the synoptic-scale environments of the TRP through composite analysis. 展开更多

Numerical simulation of vortex-induced vibration of deepwater drilling riser based on discrete vortex method

Deepwater drilling riser is the key equipment connecting the subsea wellhead and floating drilling platform.Due to complex marine environment,vortex-induced vibration(ViV)will be generated on riser,which will induce fatigue failure and even cause unpredictable drilling accidents.Therefore,it is important to study the ViV characteristics of deepwater drilling riser and reveal the main controlling factors for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of deepwater drilling engineering.In this paper,the ViV of deepwater drilling riser is numerically simulated in time domain based on the discrete vortex method(DvM).A hydrodynamic analysis model and governing equation of VIV is proposed with considering the effect of riser motion using DVM and slice method,where the governing equation is solved by Runge-Kutta method.Model validation is performed,which verified the correctness and accuracy of the mechanical model and the solution method.On this basis,the influence of the number of control points,current velocity,riser outer diameter,shear flow and top tension on the ViV characteristics of deepwater drilling risers are discussed in detail.The results show that with the increase of current velocity,the vibration amplitude of deepwater drilling riser decreases obviously,while the vibration frequency increases gradually.However,if the outer diameter of riser increases,the vibration amplitude increases,while the vibration frequency decreases gradually.The top tension also has great influence on the VIV of riser.When the top tension is 1.25 G,the VIV is suppressed to a certain extent.This study has guiding significance for optimal design and engineering control of deepwater drilling riser. 展开更多

Mechanical response identification of local interconnections in board- level packaging structures under projectile penetration using Bayesian regularization

Modern warfare demands weapons capable of penetrating substantial structures,which presents sig-nificant challenges to the reliability of the electronic devices that are crucial to the weapon's perfor-mance.Due to miniaturization of electronic components,it is challenging to directly measure or numerically predict the mechanical response of small-sized critical interconnections in board-level packaging structures to ensure the mechanical reliability of electronic devices in projectiles under harsh working conditions.To address this issue,an indirect measurement method using the Bayesian regularization-based load identification was proposed in this study based on finite element(FE)pre-dictions to estimate the load applied on critical interconnections of board-level packaging structures during the process of projectile penetration.For predicting the high-strain-rate penetration process,an FE model was established with elasto-plastic constitutive models of the representative packaging ma-terials(that is,solder material and epoxy molding compound)in which material constitutive parameters were calibrated against the experimental results by using the split-Hopkinson pressure bar.As the impact-induced dynamic bending of the printed circuit board resulted in an alternating tensile-compressive loading on the solder joints during penetration,the corner solder joints in the edge re-gions experience the highest S11 and strain,making them more prone to failure.Based on FE predictions at different structural scales,an improved Bayesian method based on augmented Tikhonov regulariza-tion was theoretically proposed to address the issues of ill-posed matrix inversion and noise sensitivity in the load identification at the critical solder joints.By incorporating a wavelet thresholding technique,the method resolves the problem of poor load identification accuracy at high noise levels.The proposed method achieves satisfactorily small relative errors and high correlation coefficients in identifying the mechanical response of local interconnections in board-level packaging structures,while significantly balancing the smoothness of response curves with the accuracy of peak identification.At medium and low noise levels,the relative error is less than 6%,while it is less than 10%at high noise levels.The proposed method provides an effective indirect approach for the boundary conditions of localized solder joints during the projectile penetration process,and its philosophy can be readily extended to other scenarios of multiscale analysis for highly nonlinear materials and structures under extreme loading conditions. 展开更多

The resistivity difference between oil and gas layers and the water layers in low contrast tight sandstone reservoirs is subtle. Fluid identification and saturation calculation based on conventional logging methods are facing challenges in such reservoirs. In this paper, a new method is proposed for fluid identification and saturation calculation in low contrast tight sandstone reservoirs. First, a model for calculating apparent formation water resistivity is constructed, which takes into account the influence of shale on the resistivity calculation and avoids apparent formation water resistivity abnormal values.Based on the distribution of the apparent formation water resistivity obtained by the new model, the water spectrum is determined for fluid identification in low contrast tight sandstone reservoirs.Following this, according to the average, standard deviation, and endpoints of the water spectrum, a new four-parameter model for calculating reservoir oil and gas saturation is built. The methods proposed in this paper are applied to the low contrast tight sandstone reservoirs in the Q4 formation of the X53 block and X70 block in the south of Songliao Basin, China. The results show that the water spectrum method can effectively distinguish oil-water layers and water layers in the study area. The standard deviation of the water spectrum in the oil-water layer is generally greater than that in the water layer. The new four-parameter model yields more accurate oil and gas saturation. These findings verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods. 展开更多

Taking the Lower Permian Fengcheng Formation shale in Mahu Sag of Junggar Basin,NW China,as an example,core observation,test analysis,geological analysis and numerical simulation were applied to identify the shale oil micro-migration phenomenon.The hydrocarbon micro-migration in shale oil was quantitatively evaluated and verified by a self-created hydrocarbon expulsion potential method,and the petroleum geological significance of shale oil micro-migration evaluation was determined.Results show that significant micro-migration can be recognized between the organic-rich lamina and organic-poor lamina.The organic-rich lamina has strong hydrocarbon generation ability.The heavy components of hydrocarbon preferentially retained by kerogen swelling or adsorption,while the light components of hydrocarbon were migrated and accumulated to the interbedded felsic or carbonate organic-poor laminae as free oil.About 69% of the Fengcheng Formation shale samples in Well MY1 exhibit hydrocarbon charging phenomenon,while 31% of those exhibit hydrocarbon expulsion phenomenon.The reliability of the micro-migration evaluation results was verified by combining the group components based on the geochromatography effect,two-dimension nuclear magnetic resonance analysis,and the geochemical behavior of inorganic manganese elements in the process of hydrocarbon migration.Micro-migration is a bridge connecting the hydrocarbon accumulation elements in shale formations,which reflects the whole process of shale oil generation,expulsion and accumulation,and controls the content and composition of shale oil.The identification and evaluation of shale oil micro-migration will provide new perspectives for dynamically differential enrichment mechanism of shale oil and establishing a“multi-peak model in oil generation”of shale. 展开更多

The on-orbit parameter identification of a space structure can be used for the modification of a system dynamics model and controller coefficients. This study focuses on the estimation of a system state-space model for a two-link space manipulator in the procedure of capturing an unknown object, and a recursive tracking approach based on the recursive predictor-based subspace identification(RPBSID) algorithm is proposed to identify the manipulator payload mass parameter. Structural rigid motion and elastic vibration are separated, and the dynamics model of the space manipulator is linearized at an arbitrary working point(i.e., a certain manipulator configuration).The state-space model is determined by using the RPBSID algorithm and matrix transformation. In addition, utilizing the identified system state-space model, the manipulator payload mass parameter is estimated by extracting the corresponding block matrix. In numerical simulations, the presented parameter identification method is implemented and compared with the classical algebraic algorithm and the recursive least squares method for different payload masses and manipulator configurations. Numerical results illustrate that the system state-space model and payload mass parameter of the two-link flexible space manipulator are effectively identified by the recursive subspace tracking method. 展开更多

With the rapid increase of the number and influence of floating population in China,it is urgently needed to understand the regional types of China's floating population and their spatial characteristics. After reviewing the current methods for identifying regional types of floating population,this paper puts forward a new composite-index identification method and its modification version which is consisted of two indexes of the net migration rate and gross migration rate. Then,the traditional single-index and the new composite-index identification methods are empirically tested to explore their spatial patterns and characteristics by using China's 2000 census data at county level. The results show:(1) The composite-index identification method is much better than traditional single-index method because it can measure the migration direction and scale of floating simultaneously,and in particular it can identify the unique regional types of floating population with large scale of immigration and emigration. (2) The modified composite-index identification method,by using the share of a region's certain type of floating population to the total in China as weights,can effectively correct the over-or under-estimated errors due to the rather large or small total population of a region. (3) The spatial patterns of different regional types of China's floating population are closely related to the regional differentiation of their natural environment,population density and socio-economic development level. The identification of key nodes plays an important role in improving the robustness of the transportation network.For different types of transportation networks,the effect of the same identification method may be different.It is of practical significance to study the key nodes identification methods corresponding to various types of transportation networks.Based on the knowledge of complex networks,the metro networks and the bus networks are selected as the objects,and the key nodes are identified by the node degree identification method,the neighbor node degree identification method,the weighted k-shell degree neighborhood identification method(KSD),the degree k-shell identification method(DKS),and the degree k-shell neighborhood identification method(DKSN).Take the network efficiency and the largest connected subgraph as the effective indicators.The results show that the KSD identification method that comprehensively considers the elements has the best recognition effect and has certain practical significance. 展开更多

Identification of modal parameters of a linear structure with output-only measurements has received much attention over the past decades. In the paper, the Natural Excitation Technique (NExT) is used for acquisition of the impulse signals from the structural responses. Then Eigensystem Realization Algorithm (ERA) is utilized for modal identification. For disregarding the fictitious ‘computational modes', a procedure, Statistically Averaging Modal Frequency Method (SAMFM), is developed to distinguish the true modes from noise modes, and to improve the precision of the identified modal frequencies of the structure. An offshore platform is modeled with the finite element method. The theoretical modal parameters are obtained for a comparison with the identified values. The dynamic responses of the platform under random wave loading are computed for providing the output signals used for identification with ERA. Results of simulation demonstrate that the proposed method can determine the system modal frequency with high precision. 展开更多

The accurate material physical properties, initial and boundary conditions are indispensable to the numerical simulation in the casting process, and they are related to the simulation accuracy directly. The inverse heat conduction method can be used to identify the mentioned above parameters based on the temperature measurement data. This paper presented a new inverse method according to Tikhonov regularization theory. A regularization functional was established and the regularization parameter was deduced, the Newton-Raphson iteration method was used to solve the equations. One detailed case was solved to identify the thermal conductivity and specific heat of sand mold and interfacial heat transfer coefficient (IHTC) at the meantime. This indicates that the regularization method is very efficient in decreasing the sensitivity to the temperature measurement data, overcoming the ill-posedness of the inverse heat conduction problem (IHCP) and improving the stability and accuracy of the results. As a general inverse method, it can be used to identify not only the material physical properties but also the initial and boundary conditions' parameters. 展开更多

To improve the accuracy and effectiveness of continuous-time (CT) system identification, this paper introduces a novel method that incorporates the nuclear norm minimization (NNM) with the generalized Poisson moment functional (GPMF) based subspace method. The GPMF algorithm provides a simple linear mapping for subspace identification without the timederivatives of the input and output measurements to avoid amplification of measurement noise, and the NNM is a heuristic convex relaxation of the rank minimization. The Hankel matrix with minimized nuclear norm is used to determine the model order and to avoid the over-parameterization in subspace identification method (SIM). Furthermore, the algorithm to solve the NNM problem in CT case is also deduced with alternating direction methods of multipliers (ADMM). Lastly, two numerical examples are presented to evaluate the performance of the proposed method and to show the advantages of the proposed method over the existing methods. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation. 展开更多

Constructing a metro station by enlarging shield tunnels combined with a mining/cut-and-cover method provides a new method to solve the contradictions of construction time limits of shield tunnels and stations. As a new-style construction method, there are several specific risks involved in the construction process. Based on the test section of Sanyuanqiao station on Beijing metro line 10, and combined with the existing methods of risk identification at present, including a review of world-wide operational experience of similar projects, the study of generic guidance on hazards associated with the type of work being undertaken, and discussions with qualified and experienced staff from the project team, etc., the specific risks during the construction process of the metro station constructed by enlarging shield tunnels combined with the cut-and-cover method are identified. The results show that the specific risks mainly come from three construction processes which include constructing upper enclosure structures, excavating the soil between shield tunnels and demolishing shield segments. Then relevant risk mitigation measures are put forward. The results can provide references for scheme improvement and a comprehensive risk assessment of the new-style construction method. 展开更多
