A study of wireless technologies for IoT applications in terms of power consumption has been presented in this paper. The study focuses on the importance of using low power wireless techniques and modules in IoT applications by introducing a comparative between different low power wireless communication techniques such as ZigBee, Low Power Wi-Fi, 6LowPAN, LPWA and their modules to conserve power and longing the life for the IoT network sensors. The approach of the study is in term of protocol used and the particular module that achieve that protocol. The candidate protocols are classified according to the range of connectivity between sensor nodes. For short ranges connectivity the candidate protocols are ZigBee, 6LoWPAN and low power Wi-Fi. For long connectivity the candidate is LoRaWAN protocol. The results of the study demonstrate that the choice of module for each protocol plays a vital role in battery life due to the difference of power consumption for each module/protocol. So, the evaluation of protocols with each other depends on the module used. 展开更多

This paper designs a high-frequency stable wireless amplitude modulation(AM)system based on a Pierce circuit.The system utilizes an oscillator and comparator to generate a 20 kHz square wave with an adjustable duty cycle,combined with a 41 MHz carrier wave produced by a passive crystal oscillator Pierce circuit.A 100% modulation index amplitude modulation is achieved through the AD835 multiplier.The modulated signal is amplified by a power amplifier circuit and transmitted wirelessly via the transmitter antenna.Upon reception,the signal undergoes two-stage highfrequency amplification before passing through a Schottky diode envelope detector.The NE5532 shaping circuit then restores the square wave.Experimental results demonstrate reliable 11-meter transmission with carrier frequency deviation<0.75% and demodulation error<1%. 展开更多

In order to diagnose the working status of each module on sensor node and make sure the wireless sensor networks (WSN) work properly, the components of sensor node and their working characteristics are studied. An on-line fault self-diagnosis method for sensor node is proposed. First, a flexible fault sensing circuit is designed as a state detection module on sensor node. Second, a self- diagnosis algorithm is proposed based on the hardware design and the failure analysis on sensor node. Finally, in order to ensure the WSN reliability, the voltage changes of each module working statuses can be observed using the state detection module and the faulty module will be found out timely. The experimental results show that this self-diagnosis method is suitable to sensor nodes in WSN. 展开更多

Most of recent researches works have only focused on the individual layer issues and ignore the importance of inter working between different layers in a sensor network. In this paper, we use a cross-layer approach to propose an energy-efficient and extending the life time of the sensor network. This protocol which uses routing in the network layer, and the data scheduling in MAC layer. The main ob-jective of this paper is to provide a possible and flexible approach to solve the conflicts between the require-ments of large scale, long life-time, and multi-purpose wireless sensor networks. This paper studies wireless vehicular communication(VehCom)in intelligent transportation systems using an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with index modulation(OFDM-IM).In the concept of IM,data is transmitted not only through the modulated symbols but also via the indices of the active subcarriers.In contrast to the original OFDM,OFDM-IM activates only non-zero subcarriers,increasing energy efficiency.However,the pilotassisted channel estimation(CE)method is a significant challenge in OFDM-IM,where the desired pilot subcarrier interval is related to the OFDM-IM subblock length.This paper proposes a walsh-scattered pilot-assisted CE for OFDM-IM VehCom.The optimum walsh-scattered pilot assignment is proposed to improve the transmission efficiency.Furthermore,a space-time block code with a high transmit diversity gain is employed for OFDM-IM VehCom to enhance VehCom's signal quality.The results show that the proposed method performs higher CE accuracy and better bit-error rate with significant spectral and energy efficiencies than conventional methods. 展开更多

In the intensity modulation and direct detection (IM/DD) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) optical wireless communication systems, a direct-current-biased adaptive modulation scheme is proposed to guarantee the nonnegative property of transmitted signals, and the MIMO channel is converted to a parallel channel by using a singular value decomposition. Besides, a QR decomposition and successive interference cancellation based adaptive modulation scheme is proposed, and the MIMO channel can be simplified to a parallel channel under the bit error ratio (BER) target constraint. The power is optimally allocated to each sub-channel to maximize the data rate. Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive modulation schemes can effectively improve the transmission rate of the systems under the BER target and constant optical power constraints. The proposed adaptive modulation schemes make use of the multiplexing gain of the MIMO techniques, and can further improve the spectrum efficiency of optical wireless systems. 展开更多

In this paper,we apply adaptive coded modulation (ACM) schemes to a wireless networked control system (WNCS) to improve the energy efficiency and increase the data rate over a fading channel.To capture the characteristics of varying rate, interference,and routing in wireless transmission channels,the concepts of equivalent delay (ED) and networked condition index (NCI) are introduced.Also,the analytic lower and upper bounds of EDs are obtained.Furthermore,we model the WNCS as a multicontroller switched system (MSS) under consideration of EDs and loss index in the wireless transmission.Sufficient stability condition of the closed-loop WNCS and corresponding dynamic state feedback controllers are derived in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI). As the competition for marine resources is increasingly fierce,the security of underwater acoustic communication has attracted a great deal of attention.The information and location of the communicating platform can be leaked during the traditional underwater acoustic communication technology.According to the unique advantages of chaos communication,we put forward a novel communication scheme using complex parameter modulation and the complex Lorenz system.Firstly,we design a feedback controller and parameter update laws in a complex-variable form with rigorous mathematical proofs(while many previous references on the real-variable form were only special cases in which the imaginary part was zero),which can be realized in practical engineering;then we design a new communication scheme employing parameter modulation.The main parameter spaces of the complex Lorenz system are discussed,then they are adopted in our communication scheme.We also find that there exist parametric attractors in the complex Lorenz system.We make numerical simulations in two channels for digital signals and the simulations verify our conclusions. 展开更多

This study explores the application of single photon detection(SPD)technology in underwater wireless optical communication(UWOC)and analyzes the influence of different modulation modes and error correction coding types on communication performance.The study investigates the impact of on-off keying(OOK)and 2-pulse-position modulation(2-PPM)on the bit error rate(BER)in single-channel intensity and polarization multiplexing.Furthermore,it compares the error correction performance of low-density parity check(LDPC)and Reed-Solomon(RS)codes across different error correction coding types.The effects of unscattered photon ratio and depolarization ratio on BER are also verified.Finally,a UWOC system based on SPD is constructed,achieving 14.58 Mbps with polarization OOK multiplexing modulation and 4.37 Mbps with polarization 2-PPM multiplexing modulation using LDPC code error correction. 展开更多

Subcarrier intensity modulation with direet detection is a modulatiou/detection technique tbr optical wireless communication systems, where a pre-modulated and properly biased radio frequency signal is modulated on the intensity of the optical carrier. The most important benefits of subcarrier intensity modulation are as follows: 1) it does not provide irreducible error floor like the conventional on-off keying intensity modulation with a fixed detection threshold; 2) it provides improved spectral efficiency and supports higher order modulation schemes; and 3) it has much less implementation complexity compared to coherent optical wireless communications with heterodyne or homodyne detection. In this paper, we present an up-to-date review of subcarrier intensity modulated optical wireless communication systems. We survey the error rate and outage performance of subcarrier intensity modulations in the atmospheric turbulence channels considering different modulation and coding schemes. We also explore different contemporary atmospheric turbulence fading mitigation solutions that can be employed for subcarrier intensity modulation. These solutions include diversity combining, adaptive transmission, relay assisted transmission, multiple-subcarrier intensity modulations, and optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. Moreover, we review the performance of subcarrier intensity modulations due to the pointing error and synchronization error. 展开更多

Activating Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) in Radio-Frequency (RF) to provide on-demand energy supply to widely deployed Internet of Everything devices is a key to the next-generation energy self-sustainable 6G network. However, Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer (SWIPT) in the same RF bands is challenging. The majority of previous studies compared SWIPT performance to Gaussian signaling with an infinite alphabet, which is impossible to implement in any realistic communication system. In contrast, we study the SWIPT system in a well-known Nakagami-m wireless fading channel using practical modulation techniques with finite alphabet. The attainable rate-energy-reliability tradeoff and the corresponding rationale are revealed for fixed modulation schemes. Furthermore, an adaptive modulation-based transceiver is provided for further expanding the attainable rate-energy-reliability region based on various SWIPT performances of different modulation schemes. The modulation switching thresholds and transmit power allocation at the SWIPT transmitter and the power splitting ratios at the SWIPT receiver are jointly optimized to maximize the attainable spectrum efficiency of wireless information transfer while satisfying the WPT requirement and the instantaneous and average BER constraints. Numerical results demonstrate the SWIPT performance of various fixed modulation schemes in different fading conditions. The advantage of the adaptive modulation-based SWIPT transceiver is validated. 展开更多

自动调制识别(AMR)在无线通信与电磁频谱管理中具有重要应用价值。针对传统深度学习模型局部特征提取单一、局部特征与全局信息融合不充分等问题,提出一种基于改进MaxViT和多层特征融合的调制信号识别算法。该算法通过将多尺度提取模块... 自动调制识别(AMR)在无线通信与电磁频谱管理中具有重要应用价值。针对传统深度学习模型局部特征提取单一、局部特征与全局信息融合不充分等问题,提出一种基于改进MaxViT和多层特征融合的调制信号识别算法。该算法通过将多尺度提取模块、局部-全局建模模块和多层特征融合模块整合到统一框架中,提升了特征学习能力。首先,MaxViT中的原始单尺度Stem模块被重新设计为多尺度Stem模块,通过多尺度卷积核实现并行特征提取,从而减少因特征多样性不足导致的局部信息丢失。同时,引入CBAM模块以增强模型对信号中重要通道和关键区域的关注能力。其次,改进的MaxViT网络结合基于卷积的局部感知与基于Transformer的全局建模,从局部和全局两个维度提取深度特征,并采用近线性注意力机制确保计算效率。最后,采用多层特征融合策略进一步提升模型对复杂模式的识别准确性和鲁棒性。在公开数据集RML2016.10a和RML2018.01a上的实验结果表明,所提算法的平均识别准确率分别达到65.70%和65.20%,最大识别准确率分别达到95.81%和98.67%,均优于现有主流方法。因此,所提方法能有效提升调制信号识别的准确性与稳健性,为复杂电磁环境下的通信信号识别提供了一种可行方案。 展开更多

单一微功率太阳能发电装置受光照变化的影响输出功率波动极其明显,且因灰尘覆盖等原因长期呈较快的衰减趋势;装置中增加风能俘获结构后不仅可以在夜晚和连续阴雨天气为自供电设备补能,还能够通过风致振动现象清除微功率光伏板表面灰尘... 单一微功率太阳能发电装置受光照变化的影响输出功率波动极其明显,且因灰尘覆盖等原因长期呈较快的衰减趋势;装置中增加风能俘获结构后不仅可以在夜晚和连续阴雨天气为自供电设备补能,还能够通过风致振动现象清除微功率光伏板表面灰尘。针对上述俘能结构的发电特征,设计了一种以太阳能取电为主、风能取电为辅的电源管理单元,分别选择了CN3795和LTC3588-1两款电源管理芯片,结合输入电压和功率对电路元器件参数进行了协调优化,既提高了风能取电功率,又补充了夜晚等环境下光能取电的不足。实验测试结果表明,优化后的电源管理模块可以在无光照时以至少2 mW的功率俘获风能,维持设备供电,解决了光能供电波动大以及风能取电的阻抗失配问题。该混合取电的电源管理模块有效提高了设备供电的稳定性。 展开更多

在物联网场景中,为满足用户发射功率与前传容量的约束条件,需对用户上行传输功率与射频拉远头的前传容量进行联合优化。然而,该优化过程依赖电池供电以维持相关设备的持续运行,但电池电量有限,难以持续、稳定地提供充足的能量支持,使得... 在物联网场景中,为满足用户发射功率与前传容量的约束条件,需对用户上行传输功率与射频拉远头的前传容量进行联合优化。然而,该优化过程依赖电池供电以维持相关设备的持续运行,但电池电量有限,难以持续、稳定地提供充足的能量支持,使得联合资源分配困难。为解决该问题,提出一种基于无线能量传输的物联网联合资源分配算法。基于无线能量传输技术构建物联网通信模型,利用能量捕获模块从能量广播站捕获能量,为物联网终端提供电量。针对所构建的物联网通信模型,综合考虑物联网的总资源量、总能效及总时延,以物联网的平均能效最大化为目标函数,同时设置任务处理消耗电量约束、物联网资源约束及基站发射功率约束,构建物联网联合资源分配优化模型。利用灰狼优化算法求解所构建的联合资源分配优化模型,输出最优的资源分配方案。实验结果表明,采用所提方法分配物联网联合资源,能量效率高于15 Mb/J,能够有效提升网络通信效率。 展开更多
