Research on evacuation simulation and modeling is an important and urgent issue for emergency management.This paper presents an evacuation model based on cellular automata and social force to simulate the evacuation d...Research on evacuation simulation and modeling is an important and urgent issue for emergency management.This paper presents an evacuation model based on cellular automata and social force to simulate the evacuation dynamics.Attractive force of target position,repulsive forces of individuals and obstacles,as well as congestion are considered in order to simulate the interaction among evacuees and the changing environment.A visual-guidance-based artificial bee colony algorithm is proposed to optimize the evacuation process.Each evacuee moves toward exits with the guidance of leading bee in his/her visual field.And leading bee is selected according to comprehensive factors including distance from the current individual,the number of obstacles and congestion,which avoids the randomness of roulette mechanism used by basic artificial bee colony algorithm.The experimental results indicate that the proposed model and algorithm can achieve effective performances for indoor evacuation problems with a large number of evacuees and obstacles,which accords with the actual evacuation situation.展开更多

This study reviews and extends intelligent road marking systems(IRMS)by integrating advanced marking materials,sensing and detection,wireless transmission,and road-side energy provisioning to support real-time,interac...This study reviews and extends intelligent road marking systems(IRMS)by integrating advanced marking materials,sensing and detection,wireless transmission,and road-side energy provisioning to support real-time,interactive traffic information for vehicles and pedestrians.In response to emerging intelligent transportation system(ITS)requirements,we synthesize progress in passive and active road-marking materials,emphasizing that environmentally resilient active markings are critical for maintaining visibility and guidance at night and under adverse weather.We discuss how visual guidance and embedded/roadside sensors can enhance traffic-state acquisition and enable intelligent feedback.For communications,we compare candidate protocols and show that configurable rate,distance,and access sequencing can be tailored to different latency and capacity demands;hybrid communication schemes can further improve efficiency while reducing system cost.For energy supply,we evaluate pavement-based energy harvesting and other self-power options,identifying durability and economic viability as prerequisites for long-term deployment across diverse road conditions.Building on these elements,we propose an adaptable IRMS architecture and introduce a conceptual framework for a real-time dynamic variable-lane system.We highlight implications for traffic safety,efficiency,and sustainability,and outline research priorities on resilient active materials,protocol optimization for seamless V2X integration,and lifecycle assessments of energy harvesters.Remaining challenges include standardization,interoperability,cybersecurity,and lifecycle sustainability.Overall,strategic advances in materials,communication,and energy technologies can accelerate multifunctional IRMS and promote safer,more efficient,and sustainable ITS development.展开更多
The aim of human-object interaction(HOI)detection is to identify the triplets consisting of a human,a verb,and an object.Although existing methods leverage vision-language models(e.g.,CLIP)to transfer textual informat...The aim of human-object interaction(HOI)detection is to identify the triplets consisting of a human,a verb,and an object.Although existing methods leverage vision-language models(e.g.,CLIP)to transfer textual information for unseen compositions,they often fail to capture the fine-grained visual cues that are essential for complex interactions,such as spatial configurations and object affordances.In this paper,we introduce visual guidance as an alternative approach to achieving the desired outcome.We define a new visual-guided HOI detection task for the first time,aiming at detecting unseen HOI categories using a small number of guidance examples.To support this new task,we have constructed a new benchmark dataset,which contains one base set and four novel sets,taking into account the peculiarities of HOI.Then,we propose a VG-HOI model with progressive guidance,query reconstruction,and a conditional uncoupling decoder to supplement common HOI knowledge and task-specific cues to improve the generalization capability of our model.Besides,we explore a new guidance sampling strategy—disentangled guidance—for real-world scenarios.Our in-depth analysis of the experimental results shows that the proposed model can improve the ability to generalize when detecting visual-guided HOI.展开更多
