The uplift resistance of the soil overlying shield tunnels significantly impacts their anti-floating stability. However, research on uplift resistance concerning special-shaped shield tunnels is limited. This study combines numerical simulation with machine learning techniques to explore this issue. It presents a summary of special-shaped tunnel geometries and introduces a shape coefficient.Through the finite element software,Plaxis3D,the study simulates six key parameters—shape coefficient, burial depth ratio, tunnel’s longest horizontal length, internal friction angle, cohesion, and soil submerged bulk density—that impact uplift resistance across different conditions.Employing XGBoost and ANN methods, the feature importance of each parameter was analyzed based on the numerical simulation results. The findings demonstrate that a tunnel shape more closely resembling a circle leads to reduced uplift resistance in the overlying soil, whereas other parameters exhibit the contrary effects.Furthermore, the study reveals a diminishing trend in the feature importance of buried depth ratio, internal friction angle, tunnel longest horizontal length, cohesion, soil submerged bulk density, and shape coefficient in influencing uplift resistance. 展开更多

The development of materials with excellent microwave absorption(MWA)and electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding performances has currently received attention.Herein, mesophase pitch-based carbon foam(MPCF)with 3D interconnected pore structure was prepared through the high pressure pyrolysis of mesophase coal tar pitch. It is found that the 3D interconnected cellular pores of MPCF facilitate multiple reflections of electromagnetic waves, which results in the minimum reflection loss(RLmin)value of MPCF reaches-37.84 dB with the effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 5.44 GHz at a thickness of 2.70 mm,and the total average electromagnetic shielding effectiveness(SE_(T))under 3.00 mm thickness achieves 26.52 dB in X-band.Subsequently,MPCF is activated by KOH to obtain activated carbon foam(A-MPCF).The average SE_(T)of A-MPCF achieves 103.00 dB for abundant nanopores on the pore cell walls, which leads to a transition from the multiple reflections of electromagnetic waves on the walls to diffuse reflection.Unfortunately, the reflection coefficient(R)of A-MPCF increases from 0.78 to 0.90.To reduce the R value,Fe_(3)O_(4)/A-MPCF was fabricated via the in situ growth of nano Fe_(3)O_(4)on A-MPCF.Consequently,the R value of Fe_(3)O_(4)/A-MPCF was reduced from 0.90 to 0.74,whereas the MWA performance was only slightly decreased. This work proposes a simple strategy for simultaneously adjusting MWA and EMI shielding performances of materials. 展开更多

The advancement of next-generation high-frequency communication systems and stealth detection technologies necessitate the development of efficient,multi-spectrum compatible shielding materials. However, the achievement of simultaneous high efficiency and low reflectivity across microwave, terahertz, and infrared spectra remains a formidable challenge.Herein,a carbonized MXene/polyimide(C-MXene/PI)aerogel material integrating a spatially coupled hierarchically anisotropic structure with stepwise conductivity gradients was constructed.Electromagnetic waves propagate through the top-down vertical disordered horizontal architecture and progressive conductivity gradient of C-MXene/PI aerogel, undergoing stepwise absorption-dissipation-re-dissipation processes. The C-MXene/PI aerogel exhibits an average electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding effectiveness of91.0 dB in X-band and a reflection coefficient of 0.40.In the terahertz frequency band, the average EMI shielding performance reaches66.2 dB with a reflection coefficient of 0.33.Furthermore,the heterolayered porous architecture of C-MXene/PI aerogels exhibits low thermal conductivity and reduced infrared emissivity, enabling exceptional infrared stealth capability across the 2-16μm wavelength spectrum. This study provides an feasible strategy for constructing low-reflectivity multi-spectrum compatible shielding materials. 展开更多

In this study,an architecture featuring a gradient conductive network structure and three-dimensional dual-continuous network structure is constructed in a carbon nanotubes/cellulose-boron nitride/poly(vinyl alcohol)(CNT/cellulose-BN/PVA)composite.Using cellulose aerogel as a template,CNT were incorporated into the cellulose template by vertically impregnating the CNT suspension.Following the impregnation of BN/PVA and high-pressure compression,three-dimensional dual-continuous network structure was successfully constructed in the CNT/cellulose-BN/PVA composite. The comprehensive performance of the composite, including electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding and Joule heating performance, was investigated. The results indicate that the total EMI shielding effectiveness(SE)for the CNT/cellulose-BN/PVA composite reveals similar values for electromagnetic waves incident from different directions, but totally different shielding mechanisms. For the CNT/cellulose-BN/PVA composite with three impregnation cycles of CNT,the EMI SE values exceeded 39 dB for electromagnetic waves incident from both the high-and low-CNT-content sides.93%of the microwaves were reflected when electromagnetic waves were incident from the high-CNT-content side, while the reflection coefficient decreased to 0.44 for the transverse direction. In addition, the construction of the dual-continuous network structure enabled the composite to exhibit both excellent electrical conductivity and good thermal conductivity simultaneously, endowing the material with good Joule heating performance.CNT/cellulose-BN/PVA composite films have significant potential for application as EMI shielding materials in extremely cold weather. 展开更多

With the rapid development of intelligent electronic and military equipment, multifunctional flexible materials that integrat electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding, temperature sensing, and information encryption are urgently required. This study presents a bio-inspired hierarchical composite foam fabricated using supercritical nitrogen foaming technology. This material exhibits a honeycomb structure, with pore cell sizes controllable within a range of 30–92μm by regulating the filler. The carbon fiber felt(CFf)provides efficient reflection of electromagnetic waves, while the chloroprene rubber/carbon fiber/carbon black foam facilitates both wave absorption and temperature monitoring through its optimized conductive network. This synergistic mechanism results in an EMI shielding effectiveness(SE)of 60.06 d B with excellent temperature sensing performance(The temperature coefficient of resistance(TCR)is-2.642%/℃)in the 24–70℃ range.Notably, the material has a thermal conductivity of up to 0.159 W/(m·K),and the bio-inspired layered design enables information encryption, demonstrating the material's potential for secure communication applications. The foam also has tensile properties of up to 5.13 MPa and a tear strength of 33.02 N/mm.This biomimetic design overcomes the traditional limitations of flexible materials and provides a transformative solution for next-generation applications such as flexible electronics, aerospace systems and military equipment, which urgently need integrated electromagnetic protection, thermal management and information security. 展开更多

To shield electronics from complicated electromagnetic environments caused by wireless electromagnetic waves, achieving elaborately structural manufacturing while not sacrificing electromagnetic interference shielding performances remains crucial challenges.Herein,we propose a hierarchical manufacturing method that combines the use of 3D printing shear flow field and layer-by-layer assembly for fabricating the structurally customizable and multifunctional polylactic acid@graphene nanoparticle(PLA@GNs)materials.The dynamic behavior of polymer fluids is firstly explored via computational fluid dynamic simulation, and a Weissenberg number is employed to quantitatively analyze the disordered-to-ordered structural evolution of molecular chains and nanoparticles, allowing to tailor the micro-scale ordered structures.Subsequently, the macro-scale 3D architectures of PLA@GNs modules are fabricated by layer-by-layer assembly.Owing to the aligned GNs,the shielding performance reaches 41.2 d B,simultaneously accompanied by a directional thermal conductivity of 3.2 W m^(-1)K^(-1).Moreover,the potential application of 3D-printed shielding modules in specific civilian frequency bands such as 4G(1800–2100 MHz),Bluetooth(2402–2480 MHz),and 5G(3300–3800 MHz)is fully demonstrated.Overall, this work not only establishes a universal methodology about 3D printing shear flow field-driven orientation of two-dimensional nanoparticles within polymer fluids, but also gives a scientific method for advanced manufacturing of the next-generation electromagnetic functional modules for smart electronics. 展开更多

In a rapid cycling synchrotron(RCS),the magnetic field is synchronized with the beam energy, creating a highly dynamic magnetic environment.A ceramic chamber with a shielding layer(RF shield),composed of a series of copper strips connected to a capacitor at either end,is typically employed as a vacuum chamber to mitigate eddy current effects and beam coupling impedance.Consequently, the ceramic chamber exhibits a thin-walled multilayered complex structure.Previous theoretical studies have suggested that the impedance of such a structure has a negligible impact on the beam. However, recent impedance measurements of the ceramic chamber in the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)RCS revealed a resonance in the low-frequency range, which was confirmed by further theoretical analysis as a source of beam instability in the RCS.Currently, the magnitude of this impedance cannot be accurately assessed using theoretical calculations. In this study,we used the CST Microwave Studio to confirm the impedance of the ceramic chamber.Further simulations covering six different types of ceramic chambers were conducted to develop an impedance model in the RCS.Additionally, this study investigates the resonant characteristics of the ceramic chamber impedance, finding that the resonant frequency is closely related to the capacitance of the capacitors. This finding provides clear directions for further impedance optimization and is crucial for achieving a beam power of 500 kW for the CSNS Phase-Ⅱ project(CSNS-Ⅱ).However,careful attention must be paid to the voltage across the capacitors. 展开更多

Developing advanced cathode modification strategies to address the inherent high charge density of Al^(3+) is essential for achieving high-energy-density and long-cycle-life rechargeable aluminum batteries(RABs).Herein,we engineer tetraethylammonium(TEA)cation intercalation as a dual-function strategy that concurrently enables interlayer distance enlargement and electrostatic shielding effects, resolving Al^(3+) polarization-induced sluggish kinetics and cathode degradation in RABs.TEA intercalation triggers exceptional V2O5 interlayer expansion from 4.37 to 13.10Å,while the modulated charge distribution generates an electrostatic shielding effect that significantly weakens the Coulombic interactions between Al^(3+) and V2O5 frameworks. This dual mechanism collectively enhances ion diffusion kinetics and suppresses lattice stress accumulation.Ex situ X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy analyses confirm that the“molecular pillar effect”of TEA enables minimal and highly reversible structural deformation of the cathode(<2.0%volume change after 200 cycles),demonstrating zero-strain aluminum-storage behavior. The optimized cathode delivers a high reversible capacity of 258 mAh g^(−1) at 0.5 A g^(−1),maintains 99%capacity retention at 5.0 A g^(−1),and exhibits an ultralow capacity decay rate of 0.01%per cycle over 6000 cycles. This work opens new pathways for designing stable high-performance RAB cathodes through synergistic modulation of electronic and lattice structures. 展开更多

Although machine learning models have achieved high enough accuracy in predicting shield position deviations, their“black box”nature makes the prediction mechanisms and decision-making processes opaque, leading to weaker explanations and practicability. This study introduces a novel explainable deep learning framework comprising the Informer model with enhanced attention mechanisms(EAMInfor)and deep learning important features(DeepLIFT),aimed at improving the prediction accuracy of shield position deviations and providing interpretability for predictive results. The EAMInfor model attempts to integrate channel attention, spatial attention, and simple attention modules to improve the Informer model's performance. The framework is tested with the four different geological conditions datasets generated from the Xiamen metro line 3,China.Results show that the EAMInfor model outperforms the traditional Informer and comparison models. The analysis with the DeepLIFT method indicates that the push thrust of push cylinder and the earth chamber pressure are the most significant features, while the stroke length of the push cylinder demonstrated lower importance.Furthermore, the variation trends in the significance of data points within input sequences exhibit substantial differences between single and composite strata. This framework not only improves predictive accuracy but also strengthens the credibility and reliability of the results. 展开更多

Shield tunneling in saturated ground poses challenges due to the potential risk of ground collapse resulting from seepage force and inadequate support pressure. This study employed a laboratory model test and a theoretical validation to elucidate the mechanisms of face failure and subsequent ground collapse in saturated ground during slurry pressure-balanced shield(SPBS)tunneling operations.A slurry circulation system was developed to ensure steady shield tunneling and to replicate the phenomena of ground collapse.Investigations into shield tunneling parameters and ground responses, including soil pressure, pore water pressure, and surface subsidence, were conducted to understand the mechanisms of face failure and subsequent ground collapse. The theoretical solution for the critical collapse pressure of the tunnel face, based on the rotational failure mechanism, was validated through the comparison with the experimentally determined critical collapse pressure. The results indicate that:(1)appropriate adjustments of tunneling parameters are crucial for promoting filtercake formation, maintaining chamber pressure, and minimizing ground subsidence;(2)chamber pressure, soil pressure, pore water pressure, and ground subsidence are closely correlated with shield tunneling parameters and the formation of filter cake;(3)ground collapse follows a continuous failure mode due to the destruction of filtercake and the decrease in chamber pressure;(4)the soil pressure at the cutterhead is more sensitive to disturbances from shield tunneling than chamber pressure;and(5)experimentally determined critical collapse pressures is consistent with the theoretical solution of limit analysis. 展开更多

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)are facing challenges of severe parasitic side reactions and uncontrolled Zn dendrite growth in promoting commercial applications. Here, rare earth metal neodymium ions(Nd^(3+))have been introduced into the conventional Zn SO_4 electrolyte as an electrolyte additive to improve the stability and reversibility of AZIBs.Combining experimental characterization and theoretical calculations,Nd^(3+)ions are adsorbed at the active sites of zinc crystal growth, forming a positively charged shielding layer on the Zn anode surface that effectively prevents lateral reactions and induces uniform Zn deposition.Meanwhile,Nd^(3+)ions preferentially adsorb on(100)and(101)planes of Zn,thus facilitating preferential deposition on the(002)plane and achieving a dendrite-free Zn anode.Consequently,a Zn//Zn symmetric cell with the Nd^(3+)-modified electrolyte exhibits an ultralong lifespan of 3000 h at0.5 m A cm^(-2),and a Zn//Cu asymmetric cell realizes an impressive Coulombic efficiency of 99.47%for Zn stripping and plating over 550 cycles at 1.0 mA cm^(-2).Impressively,Zn//CNT@MnO_(2) full cell reaches a considerably stable long cycle performance over 2500 cycles at 1.0 A g^(-1).This work offers an effective solution to the challenges faced by Zn anode and expands the application scope of metallic ions in metalbased energy storage devices. 展开更多

Estimating the properties of foam-conditioned clay soils is important for both conditioning and recycling goals in earth pressure balance(EPB)shield tunneling. In this study, the vacuum dewatering behaviors of foam-conditioned clay soils were investigated, with their potential use as an alternative means to assess foam optimization being examined.A series of laboratory and fieldtests was conducted, including vacuum dewatering tests that considered the effects of filtrationtime and pressure, vane shear tests, and improved cone pullout tests under different gravimetric water content(w)and foam injection ratio(FIR)conditions. It was found that the filtrate loss(FL),which characterizes dewaterability, was increased by extended vacuum filtrationtime and elevated pressure. While increases in w and FIR enhanced FL,reductions were observed in the undrained shear strength(cu),tangential adhesion stress(Fs),and normal adhesion stress(Fn).Furthermore,a linear decrease in FL with increasing mechanical indices(cu,Fs,and Fn)was demonstrated by both laboratory and fielddata fittingresults, regardless of w,FIR,and dewatering conditions. This study provides novel insights into the understanding of vacuum dewatering mechanisms in foam-conditioned clay soils, while a simple approach is proposed for evaluating foam conditioning effectiveness in EPB shield tunneling applications. 展开更多

Bio-based 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid polyesters offer significant promise for reducing energy and environmental crises. However, their intrinsic flammability remains a critical limitation, and conventional flame-retardant strategies often compromise their mechanical properties, hindering their practical applications.Herein,a 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide(DOPO)-based comonomer(DDP)was used to synthesize flame-retardant poly(ethylene furandicarboxylate-co-phosphaphenanthrene)(PEFDn).The covalent integration of DDP confers intrinsic flame retardancy, avoiding the plasticization and migration issues associated with additive-type systems.Upon thermal decomposition, the DOPO-derived moieties release phosphoric acid and radical scavengers, promoting char formation and suppressing flame propagation.Furthermore, density functional theory(DFT)calculations combined with non-covalent interaction(NCI)analysis revealed that DOPO dimer molecules adopt a stable parallel-displaced π-π stacking configu ration, potentially facilitating microphase separation and enhancing the energy dissipation capability.PEFD_(10)achieves a UL-94 V-0 rating while simultaneously increasing impact toughness from 1.5 kJ/m^(2) to 14.7 kJ/m^(2).Im portantly,PEFDn maintained acceptable oxygen-barrier properties.PEFD10 also exhibited high transparency and UV-shielding performance. The combination of intrinsic flame safety,im pact-toughness resistance,UV shielding, and an oxygen barrier ensures reliable protection of electrical components and long-term operational stability. The integration of multiple critical properties within a single bio-based material represents a novel approach fo r enabling sustainable polymer solutions for high-pe rformance electrical applications. 展开更多

Cross-band camouflage technology is a critical necessity, enabling personnel and equipment to evade detection across evolving surveillance systems, thereby enhancing survivability and mission success.Herein, this work develops a layer-structured composite system based on carbon nanotube(CNT)film comprising ionic liquid(IL)interlayer for infrared(IR)modulation and surface-engineered Cu_(2)O nanoparticles for visible camouflage. The CNT/IL/CNT architecture enables reversible IR emissivity switching(Δε≈0.55)through electrically driven ion intercalation/deintercalation within 2 s,while spray-coated Cu_(2)O nanoparticles(100~400 nm diameter)on the top CNT film layer generate rich structure colors with 90%IR transmittance. This spectral-decoupling design overcomes the traditional trade-off between color visibility and IR transmittance observed in pigment-based systems.Remarkably, due to physical interface coupling, the Cu_(2)O-coated layer-structured system maintains exceptional electrical conductivity, enabling simultaneous electromagnetic interference shielding and electrothermal energy conversion. The integrated system demonstrates long-term operational stability.By unifying visible-IR camouflage, electromagnetic protection, and energy management in a lightweight platform, this work provides an important paradigm for cross-band camouflage technologies. 展开更多

The performances of magnesium alloys remain insufficient to further enhance the application potential of ultralight magnesium alloys. In this work,a Mg-8Li-3Y-2Zn alloy was prepared through vacuum melting and subsequent heat treatment at 300,450,and 500°C.The material properties of the resulting samples were assessed through microstructural observation, tensile testing, electrical conductivity measurements, and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness(EMI-SE)testing.The influence of the Mg-8Li-3Y-2Zn alloy microstructure on its mechanical and electromagnetic shielding properties in different states was investigated. It was found that the as-cast alloy containsα-Mg,β-Li,Mg_(3)Zn_(3)Y_(2),and Mg_(12)ZnY phases.Following heat treatment at 500℃(HT500),the blockα-Mg phase transformedfine needle-shapes,its tensile strength increased to 263.7 MPa,and its elongation reached 45.3%.The mechanical properties of the alloy were significantly improved by the synergistic effects imparted by the needle-shapedα-Mg phase, solid solution strengthening, and precipitation strengthening. The addition of Y and Zn improved the EMI-SE of Mg-8Li-1Zn alloy, wherein the HT500 sample exhibits the highest SE,maintaining a value of 106.7–76.9 dB in the frequency range of 30–4500 MHz;this performance has rarely been reported for electromagnetically shielded alloys. This effect was mainly attributed to the multiple reflections of electromagnetic waves caused by the severe impedance mismatch of the abundant phase boundaries, which were in turn provided by the dual-phase(α/β)and secondary phases.Furthermore, the presence of nano-precipitation was also believed to enhance the absorption of electromagnetic waves. 展开更多

The recent upsurge in metro construction emphasizes the necessity of understanding the mechanical performance of metro shield tunnel subjected to the influence of ground fissures. In this study,a largescale experiment,in combination with numerical simulation, was conducted to investigate the influence of ground fissures on a metro shield tunnel. The results indicate that the lining contact pressure at the vault increases in the hanging wall while decreases in the footwall, resulting in a two-dimensional stress state of vertical shear and axial tension-compression,and simultaneous vertical dislocation and axial tilt for the segments around the ground fissure. In addition, the damage to curved bolts includes tensile yield, flexural yield, and shear twist, leading to obvious concrete lining damage, particularly at the vault, arch bottom, and hance, indicating that the joints in these positions are weak areas. The shield tunnel orthogonal to the ground fissure ultimately experiences shear failure, suggesting that the maximum actual dislocation of ground fissure that the structure can withstand is approximately 20 cm,and five segment rings in the hanging wall and six segment rings in the footwall also need to be reinforced. This study could provide a reference for metro design in ground fissure sites. 展开更多
