Non-Camellia tea is a part of the colorful Chinese tea culture, and is also widely used as beverage and medicine in folk for disease prevention and treatment. In this study,37 samples were collected, including 33 kinds of non-Camellia teas and 4 kinds of teas(Camellia).Traditional functions of non-Camellia teas were investigated.Furthermore,non-Camellia teas of original plants were characterized and identified by molecular methods.Four candidate regions(rbcL,matK,ITS2,psbA-trnH)were amplified by polymerase chain reaction. In addition,DNA barcodes were used for the first time to discriminate the commercial non-Camellia tea and their adulterants, and to evaluate their safety. This study showed that BLASTN and the relevant phylogenetic tree are efficient tools for identification of the commercial non-Camellia tea and their adulterants. However, some sequences from original plants have not been found and there is a limitation of sequence number of original plants in GenBank.Submitting more original plant sequences to the GenBank will be helpful for evaluating the safety of non-Camellia teas. 展开更多

This research aims to know the function of Traditional House of Toraja and Typology,as a unique traditional architectural tourist attraction in Ke'te'Kesu'.The research is qualitative research.Data collection is done by observation, interview, and documentation. The research variables consist of:Function of Traditional House(Tongkonan),and it’s Typology. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis, which is analyzing each variable descriptive, with the following steps:1)selecting,reducing or simplifying data,2)data display or data presentation which is the stage of qualitative data analysis techniques,3)draw conclusions and data verification which is the last stage in qualitative data analysis techniques. The results show that:In general, the main function of traditional Toraja house(Tongkonan)and its built environment is as a container of human activities supporting Toraja culture, consisting of Rambu Solo’that is the customary ceremony associated with death, and Rambu Tuka’or all things good lifestyle as well ceremonies related to daily life. Then typology can be viewed from aspects of Layout,Spatial,Shape,Structure and Construction, and Ornaments. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of a combined Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) therapy versus conventional treatment on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.METHODS:One hundred twenty outpatients with mild and moderate adolescent idiopathic scoliosis were randomly divided into a TCM group(TCMG)and a brace group(CG).TCMG patients underwent Daoyin,Tuina, and acupotomology therapies.CG patients were treated with a Milwaukee brace. Each patient's Cobb angle was measured after 12 and 24 months of treatment, and pulmonary function was determined after 12 months of treatment.Average electromyogram(AEMG) ratio of the surface electromyogram was measured after 6 and 12 months of treatment and followed-up after 18 and 24 months.RESULTS:The Cobb angle significantly decreased in both groups after 12 months of treatment compared with before treatment(P< 0.05).The percentages of original Cobb angle in TCMG and CG were51.4%and 47.8%(P > 0.05) after 12 months and62.5%and 34.7%(P < 0.05) after 24 months, respectively.Pulmonary function significantly improved after 12 months in TCMG(P < 0.05) but significantly decreased in CG(P < 0.05).The AEMG ratio was significantly lower(P < 0.01) and tended to remain at1 after stopping treatment in TCMG,but increased in CG(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:TCM combined therapy can prevent the progression of scoliosis. The AEMG ratio is a promising index that could replace radiography in the evaluation of treatment effect and progression in scoliosis. 展开更多

Objective Patients and doctors often have questions about the equivalence of traditional and machinery decoctions. In this article, using Da-cheng-qi Decoction(DCQD) as a model of formula, traditional decoction(TD), machinery decoction under high pressure(MDHP), and machinery decoction under normal pressure(MDNP) were compared. Methods For chemical components, HPLC fingerprints were established and evaluated using AHP combined with CRITIC weighing method; For animals' effects, the experiments of small intestinal propulsion were conducted; For clinical effects, a randomized clinical trial(RCT) was designed and performed. Results Although there were some differences between TD and MDNP in chemical ingredients, there was no significant difference in animal experiments and clinical trials(P 〉 0.05). Conclusion The traditional and machinery decoctions of DCQD could be used bioequivalently. 展开更多
