Bi-directional static loading test adopting load cells is widely used around the world at present,with increase in diameter and length of deep foundations.In this paper,a new simple conversion method to predict the equivalent pile head load-settlement curve considering elastic shortening of deep foundation was put forward according to the load transfer mechanism.The proposed conversion method was applied to root caisson foundation in a bridge and to large diameter pipe piles in a sea wind power plant.Some new load cells,test procedure,and construction technology were adopted based on the applications to different deep foundations,which could enlarge the application scopes of bi-directional loading test.A new type of bi-directional loading test for pipe pile was conducted,in which the load cell was installed and loaded after the pipe pile with special connector has been set up.Unlike the conventional bi-directional loading test,the load cell can be reused and shows an evident economic benefit. 展开更多

This character leads to the soil losing load bearing capacity largely and may lead to foundation failure. Pile is a popular foundation used in collapsible loess. The squeezed branch and plate pile is a new type of pile developed in recent years and has not be used in a project before. In this paper three squeezed branch and plate piles are tested in collapsible loess after immersion processing. The results may be used for reference in similar construction project, and to provide theoretical references for de- signing of the squeezed branch and plate piles in engineering practice. 展开更多

Transverse load-deflection curves were obtained t... The effects of microstructure on quasi-static transverse loading behavior of 3D circular braided composite tubes were studied. Transverse loading tests were conducted. Transverse load-deflection curves were obtained to analyze the effects of braiding parameters including the braiding angle, the wall thickness, and the diameter on the transverse loading of 3D circular braided composite tubes. Breaking loads, moduli and strengths had also been used to describe the transverse loading behaviors. The failure morphologies were shown to reveal damage mechanisms. From the results, the increase in braiding angle, wall thickness and diameter increases the ability of anti-deformation and breaking load of braided tubes. The breaking load of specimen with a braiding angle of 45° is about 1.68 times that of specimen with a braiding angle of 15°. The breaking load of specimen with 4 layers of yarns is about 2.15 times that of specimen with 2 layers of yarns. The breaking load of the tube with a diameter of 25.5 mm is about 2.39 times that of the tube with a diameter of 20.5 mm. 展开更多

It is not uncommon that backfill material used in underground mining being exposed to repetitive dynamic stresses induced by blasting operations or rockburst events. Understanding the strength and fracture evolution of backfilled stopes is critical to maintain the long-term stope stability and ensure safe mining activities. This paper aims to study the damage evolution of the backfill material and its host rock behaviour under three-dimensional(3D) dynamic loading. Using a true-triaxial testing machine, multiple samples of backfill material enclosed by country rock were fabricated and tested under various dynamic loadings with different true-triaxial confining stress conditions. In addition, the nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) measurement was conducted on the samples before and after exerting static and dynamic loading to obtain their porosity distribution changes. The experiment results suggested that with the increase of the dynamic loading, the porosity of the backfill sample goes through a two-stage process,which shows a slightly linear decrease and then followed by an exponential increase. The research findings can help understand the damage mechanism and fracture development of backfilled stopes and its host rock in deep underground mines, which are constantly subject to the combination of 3D static confining stress and dynamic loading. 展开更多

Fatigue damage of materials includes static damage and cyclic damage.Static damage is a ratio of the plastic energy in first static loading to the statictoughness, while cyclic damage is the ratio of the cyclic plastic hysteresis energy to thefatigue toughness. In the calculation, cyclic hardening (or softening) of a material istaken into account, which results in the increase (or decrease) of the yield stress. Forsimplification, it is assumed that stress and strain in cyclic loading vary in accordancewith the hysteresis loop. Fatigue toughness of a material can be detennined bysymmetric cyclic stress controlled fatigue test. A method, rational and convenient forengineering, is proposed to estimate the fatigue life under random loading based onplastic hysteresis energy theorem. Rock drilling machine,INSTRON testing system,and SHPB device are updated to investigate the characteristics of rocks at great depth,with high loads from overburden,tectonic stresses and dynamic impacts due to blasting and boring.It is verified that these testing systems can be used to study the mechanical properties of rock material under coupled static and dynamic loading condition and give useful guidance for the deep mining and underground cavern excavation.Various tests to determine the rock strength,fragmentation behavior,and energy absorption were conducted using the updated testing systems.It is shown that under coupled static-dynamic loads,if the axial prestress is lower than its elastic limit,the rock strength is higher than the individual static or dynamic strength.At the same axial prestress,rock strength under coupled loads rises with the increasing strain rates.Under coupled static and dynamic loads,rock is observed to fail with tensile mode.While shear failure may exist if axial prestress is high enough.In addition,it is shown that the percentage of small particles increases with the increasing axial prestress and impact load based on the analysis of the particle-size distribution of fragments.It is also suggested that the energy absorption ratio of a specimen varies with coupled loads,and the maximum energy absorption ratio for a rock can be obtained with an appropriate combination of static and dynamic loads. 展开更多

Experiments about working mechanism and mechanical characteristics of the DX model pile foundation under lateral dynamic and static loading were conducted by using a model system of the dynamic frozen soil-pile interaction. The horizontal displacement-force relationship of the pile head and bending moment distribution along the body in frozen soils of different temperatures were discussed. According to test results, both the horizontal disp!acement-force relationship of the DX pile head and bending moment distribution of the DX pile body are smaller than that of equal-diameter piles under same lateral loads. The piles with different plate positions show different displacements and bending moments. This phenomenon is mainly related to the soil temperature and bearing plates locations. Thus, dynamic response analysis of the pile foundation should be taken into account. 展开更多

Seismicity resulting from the near-or in-field fault activation significantly affects the stability of large-scale underground caverns that are operating under high-stress conditions.A comprehensive scientific assessment of the operational safety of such caverns requires an in-depth understanding of the response characteristics of the rock mass subjected to dynamic disturbances.To address this issue,we conducted true triaxial modeling tests and dynamic numerical simulations on large underground caverns to investigate the impact of static stress levels,dynamic load parameters,and input directions on the response characteristics of the surrounding rock mass.The findings reveal that:(1)When subjected to identical incident stress waves and static loads,the surrounding rock mass exhibits the greatest stress response during horizontal incidence.When the incident direction is fixed,the mechanical response is more pronounced at the cavern wall parallel to the direction of dynamic loading.(2)A high initial static stress level specifically enhances the impact of dynamic loading.(3)The response of the surrounding rock mass is directly linked to the amplitude of the incident stress wave.High amplitude results in tensile damage in regions experiencing tensile stress concentration under static loading and shear damage in regions experiencing compressive stress concentration.These results have significant implications for the evaluation and prevention of dynamic disasters in the surrounding rock of underground caverns experiencing dynamic disturbances. 展开更多

A series of well-designed full-scale destructive load tests were conducted on six bored piles to investigate the influence of loose debris at the pile tip on end resistance. The results show that soft debris below the pile tip will weaken the mobilization of end resistance. The ultimate tip resistance of post-grouted pile is 2.05 times that of the pile without post-grouting and the ultimate tip resistance in the second load cycle is 2.31 times that of pile in the first load cycle. The relationship between unit end resistance and displacement follows a linear model and a bilinear mode in the first load cycle and the second load cycle, respectively, whereas the unit end resistance-displacement response of post-grouted bored pile can be simulated using a bilinear mode. The critical end resistance ranges between 2 000 kN and 3 000 kN and the critical displacement ranges between 2.5 mm and 4.5 mm in the bilinear mode. As for piles rested on moderately-weathered peliticsiltstone, the socketed length has no effect on the end resistance because of the existence of loose debris. 展开更多

Bridge deformation monitoring usually adopts contact sensors,and the implementation process is often limited by the environment and observation conditions,resulting in unsatisfactory monitoring accuracy and effect.Ground-Based Synthetic Aperture Radar(GBSAR)combined with corner reflectors was used to perform static load-loaded deformation destruction experiments on solid model bridges in a non-contact manner.The semi parametric spline filtering and its optimization method were used to obtain the monitoring results of the GBSAR radar’s line of sight deformation,and the relative position of the corner reflector and the millimeter level deformation signals under different loading conditions were successfully extracted.The deformation transformation model from the radar line of sight direction to the vertical vibration direction was deduced.The transformation results of deformation monitoring and the measurement data such as the dial indicator were compared and analyzed.The occurrence and development process of bridge deformation and failure were successfully monitored,and the deformation characteristics of the bridge from continuous loading to eccentric loading until bridge failure were obtained.The experimental results show that GBSAR combined with corner reflector can be used for deformation feature acquisition,damage identification and health monitoring of bridges and other structures,and can provide a useful reference for design,construction and safety evaluation. 展开更多

为有效解决传统加固钢吊车梁施工工艺复杂、难度高、周期长、成本高等问题,提出体外预应力钢绞线加固钢吊车梁法。共设计制作3根试验梁,加固组钢绞线施加预应力130 kN,通过静力加载试验,对加固梁和未加固梁的破坏形态、荷载-挠度曲线、... 为有效解决传统加固钢吊车梁施工工艺复杂、难度高、周期长、成本高等问题,提出体外预应力钢绞线加固钢吊车梁法。共设计制作3根试验梁,加固组钢绞线施加预应力130 kN,通过静力加载试验,对加固梁和未加固梁的破坏形态、荷载-挠度曲线、梁跨变形规律及上翼缘、腹板、下翼缘的应变分布规律进行分析。结果表明:试件梁的破坏形态均为典型弯曲破坏,直线布线加固梁破坏时钢绞线跨中与梁下翼缘接触,加载点处屈曲;折线布线加固梁钢绞线在跨中断裂破坏,加载点处屈曲,钢梁发生回弹;当许用挠度达到6.75 mm时,未加固梁荷载为63 kN,直线布线加固梁荷载为71 kN,折线布线加固梁荷载为115 kN;直线布线加固钢梁极限承载力提高了29.36%,屈服荷载提高了17.07%,折线布线加固钢梁极限承载力提高了85.32%,屈服荷载提高了107%。研究认为折线布线加固钢梁效果最佳,能够有效提高钢梁承载力,对现有服役期工作的钢吊车梁加固设计有一定参考价值。 展开更多

预应力混凝土钢管桁架叠合板改进了传统钢筋桁架叠合板刚度小、预制板较厚、临时支撑密集等不足。为研究预应力混凝土钢管桁架叠合板的力学性能,设计并制作了9个预应力混凝土钢管桁架叠合板试件,包括6个采用搭接钢筋连接方式的试件、3... 预应力混凝土钢管桁架叠合板改进了传统钢筋桁架叠合板刚度小、预制板较厚、临时支撑密集等不足。为研究预应力混凝土钢管桁架叠合板的力学性能,设计并制作了9个预应力混凝土钢管桁架叠合板试件,包括6个采用搭接钢筋连接方式的试件、3个留有外伸钢筋(胡子筋)的对照试件,进行静力加载试验,研究支座锚固形式、搭接钢筋配筋率和叠合层厚度对叠合板力学性能的影响。试验结果表明:当叠合层厚度较小时,端部锚固形式和搭接钢筋配筋率对叠合板的力学性能影响显著;当叠合层厚度达到85mm时,采用搭接锚固的叠合板与采用胡子筋锚固的叠合板力学性能基本一致。建议当锚固方式采用搭接钢筋连接时,叠合层厚度不宜小于85mm。 展开更多

为了解采用预应力高强混凝土管桩的桩板式桥梁管桩框架(简称PHC管桩框架)抗震性能及其影响因素,以某桩板式桥梁为背景,通过拟静力试验和数值模拟相结合的方式,研究背景桥梁连续墩处PHC管桩框架的破坏模式和滞回特性,在验证数值模型的有... 为了解采用预应力高强混凝土管桩的桩板式桥梁管桩框架(简称PHC管桩框架)抗震性能及其影响因素,以某桩板式桥梁为背景,通过拟静力试验和数值模拟相结合的方式,研究背景桥梁连续墩处PHC管桩框架的破坏模式和滞回特性,在验证数值模型的有效性后,分析管桩初始预应力轴压比和普通钢筋配筋率对PHC管桩框架抗震性能的影响规律并给出设计建议。结果表明:在拟静力加载下,PHC管桩框架因管桩底部预应力筋拉断而破坏,PHC管桩框架的滞回圈面积较小、耗能能力差;利用纤维截面单元及粘结-滑移单元建立的数值分析模型可以合理反映PHC管桩框架的破坏模式、滞回特性和位移能力;管桩初始预应力轴压比和普通钢筋配筋率对PHC管桩框架的抗震性能影响较大;在抗震设计时,可适当降低管桩的初始预应力轴压比或提高管桩的普通钢筋配筋率以增加PHC管桩框架的位移能力,进而提高结构的抗震性能。 展开更多

预应力混凝土预制桩作为最常见基桩类型之一,不仅承载能力优异,而且现场施工方便有效可靠。通过混凝土预制桩实测单桩竖向抗压静载试验数据,建立多种基桩抗压极限承载能力的模型,进而得到优化后的预测模型。华北沿海某燃料油码头陆域共1... 预应力混凝土预制桩作为最常见基桩类型之一,不仅承载能力优异,而且现场施工方便有效可靠。通过混凝土预制桩实测单桩竖向抗压静载试验数据,建立多种基桩抗压极限承载能力的模型,进而得到优化后的预测模型。华北沿海某燃料油码头陆域共14个建筑单体,基桩类型均采用预应力混凝土预制竹节桩,但各单体上部荷载差异较大,而桩型、桩长大致相同;因此依托该预测模型对该项目中竹节桩基桩极限承载力进行预测,从而对各单体基桩桩长设计进行针对性优化,并考虑一定安全系数,以达到节省工程量,降低工程造价,优化设计方案的目的。 展开更多
