We first discretize the differential equation of the secondary potential field with mixed boundary conditions by using a seven-point finite-difference method to obtain a large sparse system of linear equations. Then, we introduce the theory behind the pairwise aggregation algorithms for AGMG and use the conjugate-gradient method with the V-cycle AGMG preconditioner (AGMG-CG) to solve the linear equations. We use typical geoelectrical models to test the proposed AGMG-CG method and compare the results with analytical solutions and the 3DDCXH algorithm for 3D DC modeling (3DDCXH). In addition, we apply the AGMG-CG method to different grid sizes and geoelectrical models and compare it to different iterative methods, such as ILU-BICGSTAB, ILU-GCR, and SSOR-CG. The AGMG-CG method yields nearly linearly decreasing errors, whereas the number of iterations increases slowly with increasing grid size. The AGMG-CG method is precise and converges fast, and thus can improve the computational efficiency in forward modeling of three-dimensional DC resistivity.展开更多

Solutions to the three dimensional N-S equations were obtained by the finite volume method. The focus of this numerical simulation was to research the characteristics of pressure distribution (drag and litt forces) and vortex tubes at high Reynolds numbers. The results of the calculations showed that the forces at every section in the spanwise direction of the cylinder were symmetrical about the middle section and smaller than the forces calculated in two dimensional cases. Moreover, the flow around the cylinder obviously presents three dimensional characteristics.展开更多

To include both vertical structure and the horizontal patterns of the atmospheric temperature and moisture, an EOF technique is used to decompose the temperature and moisture field in a 3-D space. A number of numerical simulations are conducted and they demonstrate that the 3-D method is less sensitive to the observation errors compared to the 1-D method. When the observation error is more than 2.0 K, to get the best results, the truncation number for the EOF's expansion have to be restricted to 2 in the 1-D method, while it can be set as large as 40 in a 3-D method. This results in the truncation error being reduced and the retrieval accuracy being improved in the 3-D method. Compared to the 1-D method, the rms errors of the 3-D method are reduced by 48% and 36% for the temperature and moisture retrievals, respectively. Using the real satellite measured brightness temperatures at 0557 UTC 31 July 2002, the temperature and moisture profiles are retrieved over a region (20°-45°N, 100°- 125°E) and compared with 37 collocated radiosonde observations. The results show that the retrieval accuracy with a 3-D method is significantly higher than those with the 1-D method.展开更多

Considering the disadvantages and limitation of exist- ing estimation methods, a new approach based on the shadow area percentage (SAP) that can be used to quantify surface roughness is proposed in this article. Firstly, by the help of laser scanning technique, the three-dimensional model of the surface of rock discontinuity was established. Secondly, a light source was simulated, and there would be some shadows produced on the model surface. Thirdly, to obtain the value of SAP of each specimen, the shadow detection technique was introduced for use. Fourthly, compared with the result from direct shear testing and based on statistics, an empirical for- mula was found among SAP, normal stress, and shear strength. Data of Yujian (~ River were used as an example, and the following conclusions have been made. (1) In the case of equal normal stress, the peak shear stress is positively proportional to the SAP. (2) The formula for estimating was derived, and the predictions of peak-shear strength made with this equation well agreed with the experimental re- suits obtained in laboratory tests.展开更多

By combining the finite difference time domain method and the panicle tracing method, such an algorithm is self-consistent and accurate since the interaction between electromagnetic fields and particles is properly modeled. In the time domain aspect, the generation of multipactor can be easily visualized, which makes it possible to gain a deeper insight into the physical mechanism of this effect. In addition to the classic secondary electron emission model, the measured practical secondary electron yield is used, which increases the accuracy of the algorithm. In order to validate the method, the impedance transformer and ridge waveguide filter are studied. By analyzing the evolution of the secondaries obtained by our method, multipactor thresholds of these components are estimated, which show good agreement with the experimental results. Furthermore, the most sensitive positions where multipactor occurs are determined from the phase focusing phenomenon, which is very meaningful for multipactor analysis and design.展开更多

The time derivatives of three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations are preconditioned by Choi-Merkle preconditioning matrix that is originally designed for two-dimensional low Mach number viscous flows. An extension to three-dimensional viscous flow is implemented, and a method improving the convergence for transonic flow is proposed. The space discretizaition is performed by employing a finite-volume cell-centered scheme and using a central difference. The time marching is based on an explicit Rtmge-Kutta scheme proposed by Jameson. An efficient FAS multigrid method is used to accelerate the convergence to steady-state solutions. Viscous flows over ONERA M6 wing and M100 wing are numerically simulated with Mach numbers ranging from 0.010 to 0.839. The inviscid flow over the DLR-F4 wing-body configuration is also calculated to preliminarily examine the performance of the presented method for complex configuration. The computed results are compared with the experimental data and good agreement is achieved. It is shown that the presented method is efficient and robust for both compressible and incompressible flows and is very attractive for aerodynamic optimization designs of wing and complex configuration.展开更多

文摘The highly efficient electrochemical treatment technology for dye-polluted wastewater is one of hot research topics in industrial wastewater treatment. This study reported a three-dimensional electrochemical treatment process integrating graphite intercalation compound(GIC)adsorption, direct anodic oxidation, and·OH oxidation for decolourising Reactive Black 5(RB5)from aqueous solutions. The electrochemical process was optimised using the novel progressive central composite design-response surface methodology(CCD-NPRSM),hybrid artificial neural network-extreme gradient boosting(hybrid ANN-XGBoost),and classification and regression trees(CART).CCD-NPRSM and hybrid ANN-XGBoost were employed to minimise errors in evaluating the electrochemical process involving three manipulated operational parameters:current density, electrolysis(treatment)time, and initial dye concentration. The optimised decolourisation efficiencies were 99.30%,96.63%,and 99.14%for CCD-NPRSM,hybrid ANN-XGBoost,and CART,respectively, compared to the 98.46%RB5 removal rate observed experimentally under optimum conditions:approximately 20 mA/cm^(2) of current density,20 min of electrolysis time, and 65 mg/L of RB5.The optimised mineralisation efficiencies ranged between 89%and 92%for different models based on total organic carbon(TOC).Experimental studies confirmed that the predictive efficiency of optimised models ranked in the descending order of hybrid ANN-XGBoost,CCD-NPRSM,and CART.Model validation using analysis of variance(ANOVA)revealed that hybrid ANN-XGBoost had a mean squared error(MSE)and a coefficient of determination(R^(2))of approximately 0.014 and 0.998,respectively,for the RB5 removal efficiency, outperforming CCD-NPRSM with MSE and R^(2) of 0.518 and 0.998,respectively.Overall,the hybrid ANN-XGBoost approach is the most feasible technique for assessing the electrochemical treatment efficiency in RB5 dye wastewater decolourisation.

文摘The objective of this work is to model the microstructure of asphalt mixture and build virtual test for asphalt mixture by using Particle Flow Code in three dimensions(PFC^(3D))based on three-dimensional discrete element method.A randomly generating algorithm was proposed to capture the three-dimensional irregular shape of coarse aggregate. And then, modeling algorithm and method for graded aggregates were built.Based on the combination of modeling of coarse aggregates, asphalt mastic and air voids,three-dimensional virtual sample of asphalt mixture was modeled by using PFC^(3D).Virtual tests for penetration test of aggregate and uniaxial creep test of asphalt mixture were built and conducted by using PFC^(3D).By comparison of the testing results between virtual tests and actual laboratory tests, the validity of the microstructure modeling and virtual test built in this study was verified.Additionally, compared with laboratory test, the virtual test is easier to conduct and has less variability. It is proved that microstructure modeling and virtual test based on three-dimensional discrete element method is a promising way to conduct research of asphalt mixture.

文摘To speed up three-dimensional (3D) DC resistivity modeling, we present a new multigrid method, the aggregation-based algebraic multigrid method (AGMG). The AGMG-CG method is precise and converges fast, and thus can improve the computational efficiency in forward modeling of three-dimensional DC resistivity.
文摘The hydrodynamic characteristics of a rigid, single, circular cylinder in a three dimensional, incompressible, uniform cross flow were calculated using the large-eddy simulation method of CFX5. Moreover, the flow around the cylinder obviously presents three dimensional characteristics.

Details of applying this method to flight trajectory generation are presented including calculation of velocity and controls histories. And capabilities of flight and propulsion systems are considered also. Combined with digital terrain map technique, the direct method is applied to the three dimensional trajectory optimization for low altitude penetration, and simplex algorithm is used to solve the parameters in optimization. For the small number of parameters, the trajectory can be optimized in real time on board.

文摘A three-dimensional variational method is proposed to simultaneously retrieve the 3-D atmospheric temperature and moisture profiles from satellite radiance measurements. The results show that the retrieval accuracy with a 3-D method is significantly higher than those with the 1-D method.

文摘The estimation of shear strength of rock mass discontinuity is always a focal, but difficult, problem in the field of geotechnical engineering. (2) The formula for estimating was derived, and the predictions of peak-shear strength made with this equation well agreed with the experimental re- suits obtained in laboratory tests.

文摘Microseismic/acoustic emission(MS/AE)source localization method is crucial for predicting and controlling of potentially dangerous sources of complex structures. However, the locating errors induced by both the irregular structure and pre-measured velocity are poorly understood in existing methods. To meet the high-accuracy locating requirements in complex three-dimensional hole-containing structures,a velocity-free MS/AE source location method is developed in this paper. It avoids manual repetitive training by using equidistant grid points to search the path, which introduces A*search algorithm and uses grid points to accommodate complex structures with irregular holes. It also takes advantage of the velocity-free source location method. To verify the validity of the proposed method,lead-breaking tests were performed on a cubic concrete test specimen with a size of 10 cm10 cm10 cm.It was cut out into a cylindrical empty space with a size of/6cm10 cm.Based on the arrivals, the classical Geiger method and the proposed method are used to locate lead-breaking sources. Results show that the locating error of the proposed method is 1.20 cm,which is less than 2.02 cm of the Geiger method.Hence, the proposed method can effectively locate sources in the complex three-dimensional structure with holes and achieve higher precision requirements.

文摘Based on the particle-in-cell technology and the secondary electron emission theory, a three-dimensional simulation method for multipactor is presented in this paper. Furthermore, the most sensitive positions where multipactor occurs are determined from the phase focusing phenomenon, which is very meaningful for multipactor analysis and design.
文摘To develop an efficient and robust aerodynamic analysis method for numerical optimization designs of wing and complex configuration, a combination of matrix preconditioning and multigrid method is presented and investigated. It is shown that the presented method is efficient and robust for both compressible and incompressible flows and is very attractive for aerodynamic optimization designs of wing and complex configuration.

文摘A new method, the stream surface strip element method, for simulating the three-dimensional deformation of plate and strip rolling process was proposed. The rolling deformation zone was divided into a number of stream surface(curved surface)strip elements along metal flow traces, and the stream surface strip elements were mapped into the corresponding plane strip elements for analysis and computation. The longitudinal distributions of the lateral displacement and the altitudinal displacement of metal were respectively constructed to be a quartic curve and a quadratic curve,of which the lateral distributions were expressed as the third-power spline function, and the altitudinal distributions were fitted in the quadratic curve. From the flow theory of plastic mechanics, the mathematical models of the three-dimensional deformations and stresses of the deformation zone were constructed.Compared with the streamline strip element method proposed by the first author of this paper, the stream surface strip element method takes into account the uneven distributions of stresses and deformations along altitudinal direction, and realizes the precise three-dimensional analysis and computation. The simulation example of continuous hot rolled strip indicates that the method and the model accord with facts and provide a new reliable engineering-computation method for the three-dimensional mechanics simulation of plate and strip rolling process.

文摘There are relatively few studies on large rotation or deformation by means of the three-dimensional(3D)numerical manifold method(NMM).A new modified symmetric and antisymmetric decomposition(MSAD)theory is developed and implemented into the 3D NMM,eliminating the false-volume expansion and false-rotation strain/stress problems. The Jaumann rate is used to measure the material rotation, and the geometric stiffness built on the Jaumann rate is deduced. The incremental formulas of the MSAD-based 3D NMM and a practical guide on the implementation of the MSAD theory are given in detail and exemplified. The new theory and formulas can be applied to analyze both large rotation and large deformation problems.Based on the hypoelasto-plasticity theory and the unified strength theory, the unified yield criterion with associated flow rule is implemented into the MSAD-based 3D NMM.Several typical examples are studied, showing the advantage and potential of the new MSAD theory and the MSAD-based 3D NMM.
