Ill addition, an auto-modeling program CARS is developed, with which nunaerical simulations can be conducted conveniently. For the problem of simulating mechanical behaviors of talus deposit, spatial anangement or sphere shapes should be considered. In the new modeling method, four sphere anangement models are developed for the particle flow simulation of talus deposit. Numerical results show that the talus deposit has the mechanical characteristics of typical stress-strain curves, as other rock-like materials. The cohesion of talus deposit decreases with increasing rock content, while the internal friction angle increases with increasing rock contents. Finally, numerical simulation is verified with the results of field test.展开更多

In the present study, low alloy C-Si-Mn TRIP steel was successfully fabricated by hot rolling process with a 4450 hot roiling mill. To maximize the volume fraction and stability of retained austenite of the steel, two different cooling methods (aircooling and ultra-fast cooling "AC-UFC" and ultrmfast cooling, air cooling and ultra-fast cooling "UFC-AC-UFC") were conducted. The effects of the cooling method on the microstructure of hot-rolled TRIP steel were investigated via optical microscope, transmission electron microscope and conversion electron Mossbauer spectroscope. The mechanical properties of the steel were also evaluated by conventional tensile test. The results indicated that ferrite and bainite in the microstructure were refined with the cooling method of UFC-AC-UFC. The morphology of retained austenite was also changed from small islands distributing in bainite district (obtained with AC-UFC) to granular shape locating at the triple junction of the ferrite grain boundaries (obtained with UFC-AC-UFC). As a result, the TRIP steel with a content of retained austenite of 11. 52%, total elongation of 32% and product of tensile strength and total elongation of 27 552 MPa·% was obtained.展开更多

Accordin...The state of roof collapse in tunnels is actually three-dimensional, so constructing a three-dimensional failure collapse mechanism is crucial so as to reflect the realistic collapsing scopes more reasonably. According to Hoek-Brown failure criterion and the upper bound theorem of limit analysis, the solution for describing the shape of roof collapse in circular or rectangular tunnels subjected to seepage forces is derived by virtue of variational calculation. The seepage forces calculated from the gradient of excess pore pressure distribution are taken as external loading in the limit analysis, and it is of great convenience to compute the pore pressure with pore pressure coefficient. Consequently, the effect of seepage forces is taken as a work rate of external force and incorporated into the upper bound limit analysis. The numerical results of collapse dimensions with different rock parameters show great validity and agreement by comparing with the results of that with two-dimensional failure mechanism.展开更多

The results indicate that the gradient nanostructure can not only improve the mechanical properties of 5182 Al alloy, but also has a certain effect on the Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC) effect. The yield and ultimate tensile strength of 5182 Al alloy with SMAT are significantly improved combining with the decrease of fracture elongation compared with the as-received one. The PLC effect of 5182 Al alloy could be effectively postponed by the formation of gradient nanostructure after SMAT. It leads to the increase of critical strain of the PLC effect, more concentrated distribution of serrated strain, and increase of average stress amplitude in special strain range. The influence of grain size and gradient nanostructure on the PLC effect of 5182 Al alloy was also discussed in detail. Grain refinement could sharply increase the density of dislocations and hinder the movement of dislocations, which results in the decrease of moving speed of dislocations and the more concentrated distribution of solute atoms. The solute atoms would aggregate to form nano precipitates and further impede movement of dislocation. The stronger interaction between the dislocations and the nano precipitates is the main mechanism of postponed PLC effect.展开更多

The laser pulses with pulse width of 10ns and pulse energy of about 320mJ at 1.06μm wavelength is focused on the aluminium target mounted on a ballistic pendulum, and the air pressure in the chamber changes from 2.8 × 10^ 3 to 1.01 × 10^5pa. The experimental results show that the impulse coupling coefficient changes as the air pressure and the distance of the target from focus change. The mechanical effects of the plasma shock wave on the target are analysed at different distances from focus and the air pressure.展开更多

Three-dimensional computed tomography angiography (3D-CTA) can make up deficiencies of DSA; therefore, it is used in clinical therapy wider and wider. OBJECTIVE : To evaluate the clinical effect of 3D-CTA on disruption and hemorrhage of intracranial aneurysm pre- and post-operation and compare with the effect of DSA. DESIGN : Auto-control contrast observation SETTING : Department of Neurosurgery, Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University PARTICIPANTS : A number of 106 patients with disruption and hemorrhage of intracranial aneurysm were selected from the Department of Neurosurgery, Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from January 2003 to April 2006. All patients were diagnosed with cranial operation and consent. There were 47 males and 59 females aged from 3-76 years with the mean age of (47±13) years. Among them, 82 patients had extensive subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), 7 had hemorrhage at longitudinal fissure, and 17 had hemorrhage at ambiens cistema and lateral fissure. Moreover, intraventricular hematocele was accompanied on 13 patients and hematom on 9 patients. METHODS: (1) 3D-CTA examination: Siemens SOMATOM Sensation 64 CT was used in this study. The thickness was 1 mm and interval of reconstruction was 0.8 mm. Localizing section was plainly scanned as the standard of canthus line. Scan ranged from 30 mm below sella to 50 mm above sella. Non-ion contrast medium of Omnipaque 350 (concentration of iodine was 350 g/L) was inserted into anterior vein of elbow with 18G trochar retained with high-pressured injectoc pum. The speed was 4.5 mL/s and the total volume was 80-100 mL with the means of 90 mL. Scan started at 10-20 s after injection of contrast medium. Original image was dealt with Leonardo workstation and retreated with Syngo software. Volume rendering and maximum intensity projection were used to reconstructed images, (2) All 106 patients suffered from occlusion of aneurysm clamp. Before operation, 3D-CTA was undertaken and DSA was followed. After operation, patients were rechecked with 3D-CTA. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Comparisons between 3D-CTA and DSA. RESULTS : All 106 patients were involved in the final analysis. (1) Examination of 3D-CTA and DSA: Among 118 patients with aneurysm, 110 were checked with 3D-CTA and the detected rate was 93.2% (110/118). Among other 8 cases, 3 were negative and checked again with DSA; 1 had pericallosal aneurysm, 1 ophthalmic aneurysm, and 1 anterior choroidal artery of aneurysm. 3D-CTA results of other 5 cases were suspicious, and then, they were regarded as having aneurysm with DSA. Before operation, correlation among site, body, neck of aneurysm and peripheral anatomic structure were shown sufficiently. After operation, 82 patients were rechecked with 3D-CTA, which was complete occlusion, precise, unobvious constriction, emphraxis or remains as compared with 3D-CTA those pre-operation. (2) Characteristics of 3D-CTA: With multiple vessels and angles, 3D-CTA observed the relationship between aneurysm neck and carried artery and showed thrombosis in cavity of aneurysm, calcification of aneurysm wall and peripheral structure of vessel at the same time. However, DSA could not detect the reactions mentioned above. It could delete image of cranium, simulate image of operative route, eliminate artifact induced by metal, but not distinguish blood stream direction. Meanwhile, posterior communicating artery was always poor during circle of Willis artery showing. CONCLUSION: (1) 3D-CTA is characterized by simple operation and non-invasive showing vascular stereo structure and correlation. Therefore, it is significant for diagnosis and designing plan of operative approach and focal location pre-operation and evaluating effect post-operation. (2) 3D-CTA does not completely replace DSA on the diagnosis of intracranial aneurysm.展开更多

文摘Understanding how thermal damage accumulates in granites under cyclic thermal loading is crucial for geoengineering design and stability assessment. Two types of granite with different grain sizes were subjected to multiple heating and cooling cycles at identical or increasing target temperatures using a new apparatus.Acoustic emission(AE)and thermal deformation were monitored simultaneously.Ultrasonic velocity, porosity, and permeability measurements, compression tests, and thin-section petrography were conducted to assess the thermal damage and physical and mechanical properties of the treated specimens. The results indicate that the thermal damage progression exhibits cycle-dependent decay at 300℃,and the thermal deformation tends to be elastic. However, the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)increases after thermal treatment, though the increment decreases with progressive cycles(from 21%to 4%for coarse-grained granite).Progressive temperature cycling induces cumulative damage amplification, manifested by tremendous thermal cracking(the total number of AE hits reaches-170 and 180 times that of the first cycle)and crack density escalation(the crack density reaches-1.6 and 2 times that of the first cycle).AE results reveal that there is a temperature-memory effect in both rock types, and show that thermal stresses are insufficient to generate new thermal damage until the prior exposed temperature is exceeded.Additionally, thermal damage is related to the microstructure of rock:coarse-grained granite with more pre-existing cracks exhibits heating-dominated damage(e.g.94%of the AE energy was generated during heating at 300℃),while fine-grained granite with less inherent damage is more sensitive to cooling(e.g.71%of the AE energy was generated during cooling).Quantitative relationship among P-wave velocity,Young's modulus, and linear crack density provide a good estimation of thermal damage, and can guide assessments of the durability of underground engineering.

文摘The synergistic effect of low Gd+Mn additions on the evolution of microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg−xGd−0.8Mn alloy was investigated.Gd addition shows a strong grain refinement effect on the extruded Mg−xGd−0.8Mn alloy, and leads to a continuous decrease in the area fraction of basal texture grains and the corresponding maximum density of texture components. However, the maximum density of the basal texture components grows abruptly as Gd content increases to 6 wt.%.When the Gd content is below 6 wt.%,the asymmetry of the tensile and compressive yield of the alloy is negatively correlated to the Gd content due to grain refinement and texture weakening effects.Besides, the contribution of grain refinement to higher alloy yield strength is more significant than that of grain orientation.Compared with the extruded Mg−xGd alloy, the extruded Mg−xGd−0.8Mn alloy shows a lower limit composition point that corresponds to solid solution strengthening and plasticizing effect(2 wt.%and 4 wt.%).Finally,the trend of basal slip and prismatic slip resistance variations of the extruded Mg−xGd−0.8Mn alloys was predicted.

文摘Based on three-dimensional cellular automata (CA), a new stochastic simulation model to simulate the microstructures and particle flow of talus deposit is proposed. Finally, numerical simulation is verified with the results of field test.

文摘The controlled cooling technology following hot rolling process is a vital factor that affects the final micro- structure and mechanical properties of the hot-rolled transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steels. As a result, the TRIP steel with a content of retained austenite of 11. 52%, total elongation of 32% and product of tensile strength and total elongation of 27 552 MPa·% was obtained.

文摘Coupled effects of mechanical and electronic behavior in single walled carbon nanotubes are investigated by using quantum mechanics and quantum molecular dynamics. It is found that external applied electric fields can cause charge polarization and significant geometric deformation in metallic and semi-metallic carbon nanotubes. The electric induced axial tension ratio can be up to 10% in the armchair tube and 8.5% in the zigzag tube.Pure external applied load has little effect on charge distribution, but indeed influences the energy gap.Tensile load leads to a narrower energy gap and compressive load increases the gap. When the CNT is tensioned under an external electric field, the effect of mechanical load on the electronic structures of the CNT becomes significant, and the applied electric field may reduce the critical mechanical tension load remarkably.Size effects are also discussed.

文摘A three-step cooling pattern on the runout table(ROT)was conducted for the hot rolled TRIP steel.Microstructural evolution during thermomechanical controlled processing(TMCP)was investigated.Processing condition of controlled cooling on a ROT in the laboratory rolling mill was discussed. The results indicated that the microstructure containing polygonal ferrite, granular bainite and a significant amount of the stable retained austenite can be obtained through three-step cooling on the ROT after hot rolling.TMCP led to ferrite grain refinement.Controlled cooling after hot rolling resulted in the stability of the remaining austenite and a satisfactory TRIP effect.Excellent mechanical properties were obtained through TMCP for the hot rolled TRIP steel.

文摘The state of roof collapse in tunnels is actually three-dimensional, so constructing a three-dimensional failure collapse mechanism is crucial so as to reflect the realistic collapsing scopes more reasonably. The numerical results of collapse dimensions with different rock parameters show great validity and agreement by comparing with the results of that with two-dimensional failure mechanism.
文摘Six kinds of micro bridge-beam specimens with different sizes are fabricated using photolithography technology for bending test. Beam specimens with trapezoidal section could be representatives of those with rectangle and square section, which are usually applied in MEMS. Nano indentation method used in bending test can be applied to both elastic and plastic materials. Also, some mechanical properties parameters such as the modulus of elasticity, hardness and the bending strength are obtained. The average modulus of elasticity of SCS is 170.295 0±2.485 0 GPa, showing no size effects, but the bending strength ranges from 3.24 GPa to 10.15 GPa, displaying strong size effects, and the average hardness is 9.496 7±1.753 3 GPa,in which no obvious size effects are observed.

文摘Nanocrystalline surface layers and gradient nanostructure in 5182 aluminum alloy have been produced through surface mechanical attrition treatment(SMAT). The stronger interaction between the dislocations and the nano precipitates is the main mechanism of postponed PLC effect.

文摘The influence of air pressure on mechanical effect of laser plasma shock wave in a vacuum chamber produced by a Nd:YAG laser has been studied. The mechanical effects of the plasma shock wave on the target are analysed at different distances from focus and the air pressure.

文摘Wood-based hydrogel with a unique anisotropic structure is an attractive soft material, but the presence of rigid crystalline cellulose in natural wood makes the hydrogel less flexible. In this study,an all-wood hydrogel was constructed by cross-linking cellulose fibers, polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)chains, and lignin molecules through the Hofmeister effect. The all-wood hydrogel shows a high tensile strength of 36.5 MPa and a strain up to~438%in the longitudinal direction, which is much higher than its tensile strength(~2.6 MPa)and strain(~198%)in the radial direction, respectively. The high mechanical strength of all-wood hydrogels is mainly attributed to the strong hydrogen bonding, physical entanglement, and van der Waals forces between lignin molecules, cellulose nanofibers, and PVA chains. Thanks to its excellent flexibility, good conductivity, and sensitivity, the all-wood hydrogel can accurately distinguish diverse macroscale or subtle human movements, including finger flexion, pulse, and swallowing behavior. In particular, when“An Qi”was called four times within 15 s,two variations of the pronunciation could be identified. With recyclable, biodegradable, and adjustable mechanical properties, the all-wood hydrogel is a multifunctional soft material with promising applications, such as human motion monitoring, tissue engineering, and robotics materials.
文摘BACKGROUND : Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) is always regarded as the golden standard for diagnosis of intracranial aneurysm; however, the procedure is complex, traumatic, expensive and easy to induce vascular complication. (2) 3D-CTA does not completely replace DSA on the diagnosis of intracranial aneurysm.
