The system behavior of a MSMQ system is described using stochastic h...The problem of state space explosion is still ran outstanding challenge in Markovian performance analysis for multiserver multiqueue (MSMQ) systems. The system behavior of a MSMQ system is described using stochastic high-level Petri net (SHLPN) models, and an approximate performance analysis technique is proposed based on decomposition and refinement methods as well as iteration technique. A real MSMQ system, Web-server cluster, is investigated. The performance of an integrated scheme of request dispatching and scheduling is analyzed with both Poisson and self-similar request arrivals. The study shows that the approximate analysis technique significantly reduces the complexity of the model solution and is also efficient for accuracy of numerical results.展开更多

An augmented descriptor ...This paper addresses a problem of observer-based sensor fault reconstruction for continuous-time systems subject to sensor faults and measurement disturbances via a descriptor system approach. An augmented descriptor plant is first formulated, by assembling measurement disturbances and sensor faults into an auxiliary state vector. Then a novel descriptor state observer for the augmented plant is constructed such that simultaneous reconstruction of original system states, sensor faults and measurement disturbances are obtained readily. Sufficient conditions for the existence of the proposed observer are explicitly provided, and the application scope of the observer is further discussed. In addition, an extension of the proposed linear approach to a class of nonlinear systems with Lipschitz constraints is investigated. Finally, two numerical examples are simulated to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed fault-reconstructing approaches.展开更多

A 3D scene point cloud which stored on the server is reconstructed by (structure-from-motion) SfM technique in advance. On the other hand, the client system in tablets captures query images and sent them to the server to estimate the change area. In order to find region of change, an existing change detection method has been applied into our system. Then the server sends detection result image back to mobile device and visualize it. Two classes of units, priority and non-priority, arrive at the system in two independent Poisson streams. Under a non-preemptive priority rule, the server provides a general service to the priority units and a deterministic service to the non-priority units. We further assume that the server may take a vacation of random length just after serving the last priority unit present in the system. We obtain steady state queue size distribution at a random epoch. Corresponding results for some special cases, including the known results of the M/G/1 and the M/D/1 queues, have been derived.展开更多

As any eventuality with the system necessitates immediate presence of it (server) so the time point of arrival and treatment of server significantly affects the system performance. This paper works out the steady state behavior of a cold standby system equipped with two similar units and a server with elapsed arrival and treatment times following general probability distributions. It practices the theory of semi-Markov processes, regenerative point technique and Laplace transforms to derive the expressions for state transition probabilities, mean sojourn times, mean time to system failure, system availability, server busy period and expected frequencies of repairs and treatments. The profit function is also developed taking different costs and revenue in to account. For tracing wider applicability of the model for different reliability and cost-effective systems, a particular case study is also presented as an illustration.展开更多

Random process of system change-over is a Markovian process with continuous time and discrete states. Relations binding basic parameters and output characteristics of the system indicated are obtained as probabilities of system staying in the given moment in one of the possible states. The proposed model is the most generalized compared to some models known in literature which could be considered as special cases of the considered model.展开更多
