A mechanical model for the whole body of a tracked vehicle, which is totally a fifteen-degree-of-freedom system, is established. The model includes the vertical motion, the pitch motion as well as the roll motion of the tracked vehicle. In contrast to most previous studies, the coupling effect among the vertical, the pitch and the roll motions of the suspension system of a tracked vehicle is considered simultaneously. The simulation of fuzzy logic control under road surface with random excitation shows that the acceleration, pitch angle and roll angle of suspension system can be efficiently controlled. 展开更多

The vibration caused by terrible road excitation affects the ride quality and safety of track vehicles. The vibration control of suspension systems is a very important factor for modern track vehicles. A fuzzy logic control for suspension system of a track vehicle is presented. A mechanical model and a system of difft, rential equations of motion taking account of the mass of loading wheel are established. Then the fuzzy logic control is applied to control the vibration of suspension system of track vehicles for sine signal and random road surfaces. Numerical simulation shows that the maximum acceleration of suspension system can be reduced to 44 % of the original value for sine signal road surface, and the mean square root of acceleration of suspension system can be reduced to 21% for random road surface. Therefore, the proposed fuzzy logic control is an efficient method for the suspension systems of track vehicles. 展开更多

The paper proposed an approach to study the power system voltage coordinated control using Linear Temporal Logic (LTL). First, the hybrid Automata model for power system voltage control was given, and a hierarchical coordinated voltage control framework was described in detail. In the hierarchical control structure, the high layer is the coordinated layer for global voltage control, and the low layer is the power system controlled. Then, the paper introduced the LTL language, its specification formula and basic method for control. In the high layer, global voltage coordinated control specification was defined by LTL specification formula. In order to implement system voltage coordinated control, the LTL specification formula was transformed into hybrid Automata model by the proposed algorithms. The hybrid Automata in high layer could coordinate the different distributed voltage controller, and have constituted a closed loop global voltage control system satisfied the LTL specification formula. Finally, a simple example of power system voltage control include the OLTC controller, the switched capacitor controller and the under-voltage shedding load controller was given for simulating analysis and verification by the proposed approach for power system coordinated voltage control. However, the daily... Drying is one of the most energy-intensive processes in agro-products industry. For this reason, using solar energy appears as an attractive not polluting alternative to be used in drying processes. However, the daily and seasonal fluctuations in the radiation level require using energy accumulators with phase change materials (paraffin wax), to have a continuous drying processes. In hybrid solar dryers with energy accumulation system, a control system is essential to coordinate the control valves that allow the income of air that comes from the solar panel or from the energy accumulator. In this work, we implemented an advances multivariable control system that uses fuzzy logic in the hybrid solar dryer. The dryer includes an energy accumulator panel with paraffin wax as phase change material. The input variables were ambient temperature and solar radiation, both not controllable. The controlled variables were the opening level of the solar panel and accumulator energy valves. The control program consisted in an algorithm implemented with the “Fuzzy” toolbox in Matlab. Data were acquired with OPTO 22. The control system performed adequately when used to dehydrate mushroom slices and plums. Closing or opening the respective valves as a response to the variations of solar radiation and ambient air temperature allowed optimizing the use of solar energy. 展开更多

Storage system is a part of the control strategy to reduce the diesel usage and to maintain the balance between generation and demand which might be disturbed due to the presence of PV system. Fuzzy logic control scheme has been chosen compared with conventional controller to be the main controller for both the diesel unit and storage system. The major objective of this paper is develop a control model (Fuzzy Logic Control Model) based on fuzzy logic rule to predict the maximum removal efficiency of COD,NH4-N,PO4-P and NO3-N and minimize hydraulic retention time in each step of SBR process where the controlled variables was the hydraulic retention times in the Anaerobic/Anoxic/Aerobic/Anoxic/Aerobic step respectively and the output variables was the COD, NH4-N, PO4-P and NO3-N removal efficiency at constant ratio of C/N/P and sludge age. As a results Fuzzy logic if-then rules were used and MIMO Model was built to control COD, NH4-Nand PO4-P and NO3-N removal efficiency based on hydraulic retention time in each tank of five step SBR process where the three dimension results show that the influence of hydraulic residence time at each step of SBR system on removal efficiency COD, NH4-N, PO4-P and NO3-N. Fuzzy control model provide a suitable tool for control and fast predict of Hydraulic residence time effects on biological nutrient removal efficiency in five-step sequencing batch reactor. 展开更多

The Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) is the optimum operating point of a photovoltaic module. It plays a very important role to obtain the maximum power of a solar panel as it allows an optimal use of a photovoltaic system, regardless of irradiation and temperature variations. In this research, we present a novel technique to improve the control’s performances optimization of the system consisting of a photovoltaic panel, a buck converter and a load. Simulations of different parts of the system are developed under Matlab/Simulink, thus allowing a comparison between the performances of the three studied controllers: “Fuzzy TS”, “P&O” and “PSO”. The three algorithms of MPPT associated with these techniques are tested in different meteorological conditions. The obtained results, in different operating conditions, reveal a clear improvement of controlling performances of MPPT of a photovoltaic system when the PSO tracking technique is used. 展开更多

In this paper, a robust adaptive fuzzy dynamic surface control for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems is proposed. A novel adaptive fuzzy dynamic surface model is built to approximate the uncertain nonlinear functions by only one fuzzy logic system. The approximation capability of this model is proved and the model is implemented to solve the problem that too many approximators are used in the controller design of uncertain nonlinear systems. The shortage of "explosion of complexity" in backstepping design procedure is overcome by using the proposed dynamic surface control method. It is proved by constructing appropriate Lyapunov candidates that all signals of closed-loop systems are semi-globally uniformly ultimate bounded. Also, this novel controller stabilizes the states of uncertain nonlinear systems faster than the adaptive sliding mode controller (SMC). Two simulation examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the control approach proposed in this paper. 展开更多

A novel probabilistic fuzzy control system is proposed to treat the congestion avoidance problem in transmission control protocol (TCP) networks. Studies on traffic measurement of TCP networks have shown that the packet traffic exhibits long range dependent properties called self-similarity, which degrades the network performance greatly. The probabilistic fuzzy control (PFC) system is used to handle the complex stochastic features of self-similar traffic and the modeling uncertainties in the network system. A three-dimensional (3-D) membership function (MF) is embedded in the PFC to express and describe the stochastic feature of network traffic. The 3-D MF has extended the traditional fuzzy planar mapping and further provides a spatial mapping among "fuzziness-randomness-state". The additional stochastic expression of 3-D MF provides the PFC an additional freedom to handle the stochastic features of self-similar traffic. Simulation experiments show that the proposed control method achieves superior performance compared to traditional control schemes in a stochastic environment. 展开更多

The feedforward controller provides only coarse control, whereas the feedback controller can generate on-line conditional proposition rule automatically to improve the overall control action. The control net, with a programmable logic controller (PLC) as its logic control master, an engineering control management station as its net server, and a timing control PC connected to a number of terminals, flexibly and freely transfers information among the nodes on it with the Ethernet transmission techniques. The PLC masters the field bus, which carries small pieces of information between PLC and the field sites reliably and quickly. The control net is connected into the data net, where Internet access and sharing of more experimental data are enabled. The communication in the MCS guarantees the digitalization, automation and centralization. In this study, a novel procedure is presented for control and analysis of a group of autonomous agents with point mass dynamics achieving flocking motion by using a fuzzy-logic-based attractive/repulsive function. Two cooperative control laws are proposed for a group of autonomous agents to achieve flocking formations related to two different centers (mass center and geometric center) of the flock. The first one is designed for flocking motion guided at mass center and the other for geometric center. A virtual agent is introduced to represent a group objective for tracking purposes. Smooth graph Laplacian is introduced to overcome the difficulties in theoretical analysis. A new fuzzy-logic-based attractive/repulsive function is proposed for separation and cohesion control among agents. The theoretical results are presented to indicate the stability (separation, collision avoidance and velocity matching) of the control systems. The main features of the proposed adaptive fuzzy control approach not only guarantees that all the signals of the closed-loop system are semiglobally uniformly ultimately bounded, but also contain less adaptation parameters to be updated on-line.
