Evaluation and Improvement of an Organizational Resource Applying Strategy Patterns

For any software company that frequently performs quality assurance activities devoted to measurement, evaluation (ME) and change/improvement (MEC) projects, ME and MEC strategies can be valuable organizational assets. In this paper, we analyze the improvement of a ME strategy, which can be considered an organizational resource to be applied to quality assurance activities. This resource is called the GOCAME (Goal-Oriented Context-Aware Measurement and Evaluation) strategy. AME/MEC strategy embraces the next three integrated capabilities: 1) the ME/MEC domain conceptual base and framework;2) the process perspective specifications;and, 3) the method specifications. The improvement of GOCAME was performed instantiating two strategy patterns. A strategy pattern is a reusable solution to recurrent problems in ME/MEC projects. For an improvement goal, the selected MEC strategy pattern allows instantiating in a project a set of tailored activities and methods for measurement, evaluation, analysis and change. Particularly, we instantiate the GoME_1QV (Goal-oriented Measurement and Evaluation for One Quality View) strategy pattern to understand the GOCAME current quality state and compare it with the so-called GQM+ Strategies. First, this evaluation and analysis allows us to know the GOCAME strengths and weaknesses with regard to the quality of the three capabilities. Second, we instantiate the GoMEC_1QV (Goal-oriented Measurement, Evaluation and Change for One Quality View) strategy pattern to improve the GOCAME current state, producing as result a new version of the GOCAME strategy. 展开更多

As a typical rhythmic movement, human being's rhythmic gait movement can be generated by a central pattern generator (CPG) located in a spinal cord by self- oscillation. Some kinds of gait movements are caused by gait frequency and amplitude variances. As an important property of human being's motion vision, the attention selection mechanism plays a vital part in the regulation of gait movement. In this paper, the CPG model is amended under the condition of attention selection on the theoretical basis of Matsuoka neural oscillators. Regulation of attention selection signal for the CPG model parameters and structure is studied, which consequentially causes the frequency and amplitude changes of gait movement output. Further, the control strategy of the CPG model gait movement under the condition of attention selection is discussed, showing that the attention selection model can regulate the output model of CPG gait movement in three different ways. The realization of regulation on the gait movement frequency and amplitude shows a variety of regulation on the CPG gait movement made by attention selection and enriches the controllability of CPG gait movement, which demonstrates potential influence in engineering applications. 展开更多

Automated parallel manipulation of multiple micro-objects with optoelectronic tweezers(OET)has brought significant research interests recently.However,the parallel manipulation of multiple objects in complex obstacle-dense microenvironment using OET technology based on negative dielectrophoresis(nDEP)remain a big technical challenge.In this work,we proposed an adaptive light pattern design strategy to achieve automated parallel OET manipulation of multiple micro-objects and navigate them through obstacles to target positions with high precision and no collision.We first developed a multi-micro-object parallel manipulation OET system,capable of simultaneous image processing and microparticles path planning.To overcome microparticle collisions caused by overlapping light patterns,we employed a novel adaptive light pattern design that can dynamically adjust the layout of overlapping light patterns according to surrounding environment,ensuring enough space for each microparticle and preventing unintended escapes from the OET trap.The efficacy of this approach has been verified through systematic simulations and experiments.Utilizing this strategy,multiple polystyrene microparticles were autonomously navigated through obstacles and microchannels to their intended destinations,demonstrating the strategy’s effectiveness and potential for automated parallel micromanipulation of multiple microparticles in complex and confined microenvironments. 展开更多
