Clustering-based temporal deep neural network denoising method for event-based sensors

To enhance the denoising performance of event-based sensors,we introduce a clustering-based temporal deep neural network denoising method(CBTDNN).Firstly,to cluster the sensor output data and obtain the respective cluster centers,a combination of density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN)and Kmeans++is utilized.Subsequently,long short-term memory(LSTM)is employed to fit and yield optimized cluster centers with temporal information.Lastly,based on the new cluster centers and denoising ratio,a radius threshold is set,and noise points beyond this threshold are removed.The comprehensive denoising metrics F1_score of CBTDNN have achieved 0.8931,0.7735,and 0.9215 on the traffic sequences dataset,pedestrian detection dataset,and turntable dataset,respectively.And these metrics demonstrate improvements of 49.90%,33.07%,19.31%,and 22.97%compared to four contrastive algorithms,namely nearest neighbor(NNb),nearest neighbor with polarity(NNp),Autoencoder,and multilayer perceptron denoising filter(MLPF).These results demonstrate that the proposed method enhances the denoising performance of event-based sensors. 展开更多

Aiming at the problem of mobile data traffic surge in 5G networks,this paper proposes an effective solution combining massive multiple-input multiple-output techniques with Ultra-Dense Network(UDN)and focuses on solving the resulting challenge of increased energy consumption.A base station control algorithm based on Multi-Agent Proximity Policy Optimization(MAPPO)is designed.In the constructed 5G UDN model,each base station is considered as an agent,and the MAPPO algorithm enables inter-base station collaboration and interference management to optimize the network performance.To reduce the extra power consumption due to frequent sleep mode switching of base stations,a sleep mode switching decision algorithm is proposed.The algorithm reduces unnecessary power consumption by evaluating the network state similarity and intelligently adjusting the agent’s action strategy.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm reduces the power consumption by 24.61% compared to the no-sleep strategy and further reduces the power consumption by 5.36% compared to the traditional MAPPO algorithm under the premise of guaranteeing the quality of service of users. 展开更多

Proper quality planning of limestone raw materials is an essential job of maintaining desired feed in cement plant. Rock-type identification is an integrated part of quality planning for limestone mine. In this paper, a computer vision-based rock-type classification algorithm is proposed for fast and reliable identification without human intervention. A laboratory scale vision-based model was developed using probabilistic neural network(PNN) where color histogram features are used as input. The color image histogram-based features that include weighted mean, skewness and kurtosis features are extracted for all three color space red, green, and blue. A total nine features are used as input for the PNN classification model. The smoothing parameter for PNN model is selected judicially to develop an optimal or close to the optimum classification model. The developed PPN is validated using the test data set and results reveal that the proposed vision-based model can perform satisfactorily for classifying limestone rocktypes. Overall the error of mis-classification is below 6%. When compared with other three classification algorithms, it is observed that the proposed method performs substantially better than all three classification algorithms. 展开更多

The traffic explosion and the rising of diverse requirements lead to many challenges for traditional mobile network architecture on flexibility, scalability, and deployability. To meet new requirements in the 5 G era, service based architecture is introduced into mobile networks. The monolithic network elements(e.g., MME, PGW, etc.) are split into smaller network functions to provide customized services. However, the management and deployment of network functions in service based 5 G core network are still big challenges. In this paper, we propose a novel management architecture for 5 G service based core network based on NFV and SDN. Combined with SDN, NFV and edge computing, the proposed framework can provide distributed and on-demand deployment of network functions, service guaranteed network slicing, flexible orchestration of network functions and optimal workload allocation. Simulations are conducted to show that the proposed framework and algorithm are effective in terms of reducing network operating cost. 展开更多

The handover decision algorithm is jointly determined by the angle of handover(AHO) and the time-tostay(TTS) to reduce the unnecessary handover numbers.First, the proposed AHO parameter is used to decrease the computation complexity in multiple candidate base stations(CBSs) scenario. Then, two types of TTS parameters are given for the fixed base stations and mobile base stations to make handover decisions among multiple CBSs. The simulation results show that the proposed LTBH algorithm can not only maintain the required transmission rate of users, but also effectively reduce the unnecessary numbers of handover in the dense macro-femto networks with the coexisting mobile BSs. 展开更多

With the explosive growth of highspeed wireless data demand and the number of mobile devices, fog radio access networks(F-RAN) with multi-layer network structure becomes a hot topic in recent research. Meanwhile, due to the rapid growth of mobile communication traffic, high cost and the scarcity of wireless resources, it is especially important to develop an efficient radio resource management mechanism. In this paper, we focus on the shortcomings of resource waste, and we consider the actual situation of base station dynamic coverage and user requirements. We propose a spectrum pricing and allocation scheme based on Stackelberg game model under F-RAN framework, realizing the allocation of resource on demand. This scheme studies the double game between the users and the operators, as well as between the traditional operators and the virtual operators, maximizing the profits of the operators. At the same time, spectrum reuse technology is adopted to improve the utilization of network resource. By analyzing the simulation results, it is verified that our proposed scheme can not only avoid resource waste, but also effectively improve the operator's revenue efficiency and overall network resource utilization. 展开更多

This paper reviews the research work done on the Reliability Analysis of Controller Area Network (CAN) based systems. During the last couple of decades, real-time researchers have extended schedulability analysis to a mature technique which for nontrivial systems can be used to determine whether a set of tasks executing on a single CPU or in a distributed system will meet their deadlines or not [1-3]. The main focus of the real-time research community is on hard real-time systems, and the essence of analyzing such systems is to investigate if deadlines are met in a worst case scenario. Whether this worst case actually will occur during execution, or if it is likely to occur, is not normally considered. Reliability modeling, on the other hand, involves study of fault models, characterization of distribution functions of faults and development of methods and tools for composing these distributions and models in estimating an overall reliability figure for the system [4]. Dynamic spectrum sharing and cognitive radio networks were proposed to enhance the Radio Frequency(RF)spectrum utilization.However,there are several challenges to realize them in real systems,such as sensing uncertainty causing issues to licensed users,business models for licensed service providers.Wireless virtualization is regarded as a technology that leverages service level agreements to sublease unused or underutilized RF spectrum that addresses aforementioned issues and helps to significantly enhance the utilization of the RF spectrum,offer improved coverage and capacity of networks,enhance network security and reduce energy consumption.With wireless virtualization,wireless networks'physical substrate is shared and reconfigured dynamically between virtual wireless networks through Mobile Virtual Network Operations(MVNOs).Wireless virtualization with dynamic configurable features of Wireless Infrastructure Providers(WIPs),virtualized wireless networks are vulnerable to a multitude of attacks,including jamming attacks and eavesdropping attacks.This paper investigates a means of defense through the employment of coalition game theory when jammers try to degrade the signal quality of legitimate users,and eavesdroppers aim to reduce secrecy rates.Specifically,we consider a virtual wireless network where MVNO users'job is to improve their Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio(SINR)while the jammers target to collectively enhance their Jammer Received Signal Strength(JRSS),and an eavesdropper's goal is to reduce the overall secrecy rate.Numerical results have demonstrated that the proposed game strategies are effective(in terms of data rate,secrecy rate and latency)against such attackers compared to the traditional approaches. 展开更多

Besides these, the key methodologies of simulating the inter-satellite link features in the data transmissions are also discussed. Sensor nodes in a wireless sensor network (WSN) are typically powered by batteries, thus the energy is constrained. It is our design goal to efficiently utilize the energy of each sensor node to extend its lifetime, so as to prolong the lifetime of the whole WSN. In this paper, we propose a path-based data aggregation scheme (PBDAS) for grid-based wireless sensor networks. In order to extend the lifetime of a WSN, we construct a grid infrastructure by partitioning the whole sensor field into a grid of cells. Each cell has a head responsible for aggregating its own data with the data sensed by the others in the same cell and then transmitting out. In order to efficiently and rapidly transmit the data to the base station (BS), we link each cell head to form a chain. Each cell head on the chain takes turn becoming the chain leader responsible for transmitting data to the BS. Aggregated data moves from head to head along the chain, and finally the chain leader transmits to the BS. In PBDAS, only the cell heads need to transmit data toward the BS. Therefore, the data transmissions to the BS substantially decrease. Besides, the cell heads and chain leader are designated in turn according to the energy level so that the energy depletion of nodes is evenly distributed. Simulation results show that the proposed PBDAS extends the lifetime of sensor nodes, so as to make the lifetime of the whole network longer. 展开更多

This paper describes an adaptive swarm-based routing algorithm that increases convergence speed, reduces routing instabilities and oscillations by using a novel variation of reinforcement learning and a technique called momentum.Experiment on the dynamic network showed that adaptive swarm-based routing learns the optimum routing in terms of convergence speed and average packet latency. 展开更多

This scheme can effectively overcome the large time delay, inertia of the export steam and the influencee of object in varying operational parameters. Thus excellent control quality is obtaitud. The present paper describes the development and application of neural network based controller to control the temperature of the boiler's export steam. Dynamic spectrum access technologies based on Cognitive Radio(CR) is under intensive research carried out by the wireless communication society and is expected to solve the problem of spectrum scarcity.However,most enabling technologies related to dynamic spectrum access are con-sidered individually.In this paper,we consider these key technologies jointly and introduce a new implementation scheme for a Dynamic Spectrum Access Network Based on Cognitive Radio(DSAN-BCR).We start with a flexible hardware platform for DSAN-BCR,as well as a flexible protocol structure that dominates the operation of DSAN-BCR.We then focus on the state of the art of key technologies such as spectrum sensing,spectrum resources management,dynamic spectrum access,and routing that are below the network layer in DSAN-BCR,as well as the development of technologies related to higher layers.Last but not the least,we analyze the challenges confronted by these men-tioned technologies in DSAN-BCR,and give the perspectives on the future development of these technologies.The DSAN-BCR introduced is expected to provide a system level guidance to alleviate the problem of spectrum scarcity. 展开更多

The serious environmental threat caused by petroleum-based plastics has spurred more researches in developing substitutes from renewable sources.Starch is desirable for fabricating bioplastic due to its abundance and renewable nature.However,limitations such as brittleness,hydrophilicity,and thermal properties restrict its widespread application.To overcome these issues,covalent adaptable network was constructed to fabricate a fully bio-based starch plastic with multiple advantages via Schiff base reactions.This strategy endowed starch plastic with excellent thermal processability,as evidenced by a low glass transition temperature(T_(g)=20.15℃).Through introducing Priamine with long carbon chains,the starch plastic demonstrated superior flexibility(elongation at break=45.2%)and waterproof capability(water contact angle=109.2°).Besides,it possessed a good thermal stability and self-adaptability,as well as solvent resistance and chemical degradability.This work provides a promising method to fabricate fully bio-based plastics as alternative to petroleum-based plastics. 展开更多

The IoT expands the existing common concepts, anytime and anyplace to the connectivity for anything. The proliferation in IoT offers opportunities but may also bear risks. A hitherto neglected aspect is the possible increase in power consumption as smart devices in IoT applications are expected to be reachable by other devices at all times. This implies that the device is consuming electrical energy even when it is not in use for its primary function. Many researchers’ communities have started addressing storage ability like cache memory of smart devices using the concept called—Named Data Networking (NDN) to achieve better energy efficient communication model. In NDN, memory or buffer overflow is the common challenge especially when internal memory of node exceeds its limit and data with highest degree of freshness may not be accommodated and entire scenarios behaves like a traditional network. In such case, Data Caching is not performed by intermediate nodes to guarantee highest degree of freshness. On the periodical updates sent from data producers, it is exceedingly demanded that data consumers must get up to date information at cost of lease energy. Consequently, there is challenge in maintaining tradeoff between freshness energy consumption during Publisher-Subscriber interaction. In our work, we proposed the architecture to overcome cache strategy issue by Smart Caching Algorithm for improvement in memory management and data freshness. The smart caching strategy updates the data at precise interval by keeping garbage data into consideration. It is also observed from experiment that data redundancy can be easily obtained by ignoring/dropping data packets for the information which is not of interest by other participating nodes in network, ultimately leading to optimizing tradeoff between freshness and energy required. 展开更多

A control scheme that integrates control technology with communication technology to solve the delay problem is introduced for a class of networked control systems: Networked Half-Link Systems (NHLS). Concretely, we use the master-slave clock synchronization technology to evaluate the delays online, and then the LQ optimal control based on delays is adopted to stabilize the controlled plant. During the clock synchronization process, the error of evaluated delays is inevitably induced from the clock synchronization error, which will deteriorate the system performances, and even make system unstable in certain cases. Hence, the discussions about the clock error, and the related control analysis and design are also developed. Specifically, we present the sufficient conditions of controller parameters that guarantee the system stability, and a controller design method based on the error of delays is addressed thereafter. The experiments based on a CANbus platform are fulfilled, and the experimental results verify the previous analytic results finally. 展开更多

A dense heterogeneous cellular network can effectively increase the system capacity and enhance the network coverage.It is a key technology for the new generation of the mobile communication system.The dense deployment of small base stations not only improves the quality of network service,but also brings about a significant increase in network energy consumption.This paper mainly studies the energy efficiency optimization of the Macro-Femto heterogeneous cellular network.Considering the dynamic random changes of the access users in the network,the sleep process of the Femto Base Stations(FBSs)is modeled as a Semi-Markov Decision Process(SMDP)model in order to save the network energy consumption.And further,this paper gives the dynamic sleep algorithm of the FBS based on the value iteration.The simulation results show that the proposed SMDP-based adaptive sleep strategy of the FBS can effectively reduce the network energy consumption. 展开更多
