In this paper, the generalized nonlinear Schrodinger equation (GNLSE) is solved by an adaptive split-step Fourier method (ASSFM). It is found that ASSFM must be used to solve GNLSE to ensure precision when the soliton selffrequency shift is remarkable and the photonic crystal fibre (PCF) parameters vary with the frequency considerably. The precision of numerical simulation by using ASSFM is higher than that by using split-step Fourier method in the process of laser pulse propagation in PCFs due to the fact that the variation of fibre parameters with the peak frequency in the pulse spectrum can be taken into account fully. 展开更多

In this paper,a double-effect DNN-based Digital Back-Propagation(DBP)scheme is proposed and studied to achieve the Integrated Communication and Sensing(ICS)ability,which can not only realize nonlinear damage mitigation but also monitor the optical power and dispersion profile over multi-span links.The link status information can be extracted by the characteristics of the learned optical fiber parameters without any other measuring instruments.The efficiency and feasibility of this method have been investigated in different fiber link conditions,including various launch power,transmission distance,and the location and the amount of the abnormal losses.A good monitoring performance can be obtained while the launch optical power is 2 dBm which does not affect the normal operation of the optical communication system and the step size of DBP is 20 km which can provide a better distance resolution.This scheme successfully detects the location of single or multiple optical attenuators in long-distance multi-span fiber links,including different abnormal losses of 2 dB,4 dB,and 6 dB in 360 km and serval combinations of abnormal losses of(1 dB,5 dB),(3 dB,3 dB),(5 dB,1 dB)in 360 km and 760 km.Meanwhile,the transfer relationship of the estimated coefficient values with different step sizes is further investigated to reduce the complexity of the fiber nonlinear damage compensation.These results provide an attractive approach for precisely sensing the optical fiber link status information and making correct strategies timely to ensure optical communication system operations. 展开更多

磺胺甲噁唑(sulfamethoxazole,SMX)常用于动物和人类疾病治疗,导致其在多种环境介质中广泛检出。绿藻作为水生生态系统中的初级生产者,因其灵敏度较高而常用作毒性评估的模式生物。然而,目前关于SMX对绿藻的毒性研究普遍以传统毒性测试... 磺胺甲噁唑(sulfamethoxazole,SMX)常用于动物和人类疾病治疗,导致其在多种环境介质中广泛检出。绿藻作为水生生态系统中的初级生产者,因其灵敏度较高而常用作毒性评估的模式生物。然而,目前关于SMX对绿藻的毒性研究普遍以传统毒性测试为主,缺乏对其生物大分子水平毒性效应的深入认识。本研究结合藻类生长抑制实验和傅里叶变换红外光谱(Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,FTIR)分析深入探究SMX对绿藻生物大分子水平的毒性作用机制。藻类生长抑制实验结果表明,SMX对3株绿藻的EC 50(置信度95%)依次为斜生栅藻(8.53 mg·L^(-1))<四尾栅藻(14.30 mg·L^(-1))<尖细栅藻(90.45 mg·L^(-1))。基于FTIR分析发现,SMX暴露引起绿藻生物大分子发生变化且存在明显的剂量效应关系。脂质水平上,脂质发生过氧化、改变脂肪酸烷基链长度,进而影响细胞膜的流动性和通透性。蛋白质水平上,酰胺Ⅰ和酰胺Ⅱ的变化揭示蛋白质二级结构发生变化。DNA水平上,DNA构型发生变化,由常见的B-DNA型转换为能抵御外界干扰A-DNA型。3株绿藻在生物大分子水平对SMX暴露的响应差异可能与其细胞壁结构组成差异有关。 展开更多

Starting from the extended nonlinear Schrodinger equation in which the self-steepening effect is included, the evolution and the splitting processes of continuous optical wave whose amplitude is perturbed into time related ultra-short optical pulse trains in an optical fibre are numerically simulated by adopting the split-step Fourier algorithm. The results show that the self-steepening effect can cause the characteristic of the pulse trains to vary with time, which is different from the self-steepening-free case where the generated pulse trains consist of single pulses which are identical in width, intensity, and interval, namely when pulses move a certain distance, they turn into the pulse trains within a certain time range. Moreover, each single pulse may split into several sub-pulses. And as time goes on, the number of the sub-pulses will decrease gradually and the pulse width and the pulse intensity will change too. With the increase of the self-steepening parameter, the distance needed to generate time-dependent pulse trains will shorten. In addition, for a large self-steepening parameter and at the distance where more sub-pulses appear, the corresponding frequency spectra of pulse trains are also wider. 展开更多

Based on the equation satisfied by optical pulse that is a slowly varying function, the higher-order nonlinear Schr o¨dinger equation(NLSE) including Raman gain and self-steepening effect is deduced in detail, and a new Raman gain function is defined. By using the split-step Fourier method, the influence of the combined effect between Raman gain and self-steepening on the propagation characteristic of dark solitons is simulated in the isotropic fiber. The results show that gray solitons can be symmetrically formed by high order dark soliton, however self-steepening effect will inhibit the formation mechanism through the phenomenon that gray solitons are produced only in the trailing edge of the central black soliton. Meanwhile, the Raman gain changes the propagation characteristic of optical soliton and inhibits the self-steepening effect, resulting in the broadening of pulse width and the decreasing of pulse offset. 展开更多

In this paper the propagation of elegant Hermite-cosh-Gaussian, elegant Laguerre Gaussian, and Bessel Gaussian beams through a Kerr left-handed metamaterial (LHM) slab have been studied. A split-step Fourier method is used to investigate the propagation of laser beams through this media. Numerical simulation shows that Gaussian beams have different focusing behaviors in a Kerr LHM slab with positive or negative nonlinearity. Beam focusing happens in slabs with positive nonlinearity and not in slabs with negative nonlinearity; however, negative nonlinearity is required for a Kerr LHM slab to act like a lens. Additionally, the focusing properties of beams can be controlled by controlling the thickness of the slab or the input power of the incident beam. A multilayer structure is also proposed to have beam focusing by thinner slabs and passing longer distances. 展开更多
