Objective:Estimate predictive associations of marital status with social dysfunction in schizophrenia patients.Methods:817 schizophrenia patients lived in the community of Dongguan,Guangdong province,China, were investigated with the Social Disability Screening Schedule(SDSS)during a three-month period(1.2010e3.2010).The demographic data were harvested. The c2 test,t test, and fisher's exact were used for comparisons between groups,as appropriate.Multinomial logistic regression(MLR)was used to analyze the predictive associations of demographic variables to the grading of social dysfunctions. Results:The study group consisted of male and female patients aged 16e59 years,407 females, and 410 males with the mean age(40.7±9.5)years.Analysis of the data revealed significant differences in course of disease and marital status among patients(with and without dysfunction). The married patient made a significant difference with divorced/widowed patient in mildlyemoderately social dysfunction. There was a significant difference in married and never-married patient with mildly and profoundly social dysfunction.Significant differences were noticed in the self care and occupational roles of the married patient with that of the never-married.Conclusion:This study confirmed that bad marital status is associated with higher odds of social dysfunction among patients with schizophrenia living in the community. These effects should be included in considerations of public health investments in preventing and treating mental disorders. 展开更多

In the international medical level to obtain sustainable development and the change of diagnosis and treatment concept, used to judge and rating schizophrenia patients can reach the standard of rehabilitation treatment is also in the continuous optimization, social function is one of the indispensable evaluation criteria, at the present stage has been gradually paid attention to by all mankind. Relevant experiments show that the probability of social dysfunction in schizophrenia has reached 75 to 95 percent. The treatment of schizophrenia patients has always been a thorny problem faced by clinical psychiatry, especially for the rehabilitation of such patients. Although the research data in this area are very right, there is still a lack of comprehensive rehabilitation measures. In this context, this paper will strengthen the clinical value of the social function of patients with schizophrenia, to analyze the factors that lead to the occurrence of social function defects. At the same time, the use of relevant nursing countermeasures for the intervention of patients with schizophrenia, the specific review is as follows. 展开更多

Autism spectrum disorder(ASD)is a range of neurodevelopmental diseases characterized by social dysfunction and stereotypic behaviors. The etiology of ASD remains largely unexplored, resulting in a diverse array of described clinical manifestations and varying degrees of severity.Currently, there are no drugs approved by a supervisory organization that can effectively treat the core symptoms of ASD.Childhood and adolescence are crucial stages for making significant achievements in ASD treatment, necessitating the development of drugs specifically for these periods.Based on the drug targets and mechanisms of action,it can be found that atypical psychotropic medications,anti-inflammatory and antioxidant medications, hormonal medications, ion channel medications, and gastrointestinal medications have shown significant improvement in treating the core symptoms of ASD in both children and adolescents. In addition, comparisons of drugs within the same category regarding efficacy and safety have been made to identify better alternatives and promote drug development. While further evaluation of the effectiveness and safety of these medications is needed, they hold great potential for widespread application in the clinical treatment of the principal symptoms of ASD. 展开更多

Background:The mechanisms underlying social dysfunction caused by repeated sevoflurane in early life remain unclear.Whether the gut microbiota-metabolite-brain axis is involved in the mechanism of sevoflurane developmental neurotoxicity still lacks report. Methods:Mice received 3%sevoflurane at postnatal day(PND)6,7,and 8 for 2 h per day.Metagenomic sequencing and untargeted metabolomic analysis were applied to investigate the effects of sevoflurane on gut microbiota and metabolism. The animal social behavior and the synaptic development were analyzed during PND 35.Subsequently,fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)from the control group and bile acid administration were performed to see the expected rescuing effect on socially related behaviors that were impaired by repeated sevoflurane exposure in the mice. Results:In the 3-chamber test,sevoflurane-exposed mice spent less time with stranger mice compared with the control group. The density of both the apical and basal spine decreased in mice exposed to sevoflurane. In addition, repeated sevoflurane exposure led to a notable alteration in the gut microbiota and metabolite synthesis, particularly bile acid.FMT reduced the production of intestinal bile acid and attenuated the effect of sevoflurane exposure on social function and synaptic development.Cholestyramine treatment mimics the protective effects of FMT.Conclusions:The gut microbiota-metabolite-brain axis underlies social dysfunction caused by sevoflurane exposure in early age,and bile acid regulation may be a promising intervention to this impairment. 展开更多
