文摘In this study,a new linear friction welding(LFW)process, embedded LFW process, was put forward, which was mainly applied to combination manufacturing of long or overlong loadcarrying titanium alloy structural components in aircraft. The interfacial plastic flow behavior and bonding mechanism of this process were investigated by a developed coupling EulerianLagrangian numerical model using software ABAQUS and a novel thermo-physical simulation method with designed embedded hot compression specimen. In addition, the formation mechanism and control method of welding defects caused by uneven plastic flow were discussed. The results reveal that the plastic flow along oscillating direction of this process is even and sufficient. In the direction perpendicular to oscillation,thermo-plastic metals mainly flow downward along welding interface under coupling of shear stress and interfacial pressure, resulting in the interfacial plastic zone shown as an inverted“V”shape. The upward plastic flow in this direction is relatively weak, and only a small amount of flash is extruded from top of joint. Moreover, the wedge block and welding components at top of joint are always in un-steady friction stage, leading to nonuniform temperature field distribution and un-welded defects.According to the results of numerical simulation, high oscillating frequency combined with low pressure and small amplitude is considered as appropriate parameter selection scheme to improve the upward interfacial plastic flow at top of joint and suppress the un-welded defects. The results of thermo-physical simulation illustrate that continuous dynamic recrystallization(CDRX)induces the bonding of interface, accompanying by intense dislocation movement and creation of many low-angle grain boundaries. In the interfacial bonding area, grain orientation is random with relatively low texture density(5.0 mud)owing to CDRX.

文摘Natural gas hydrate widely exists in the South China Sea as clean energy.A three-phase transition layer widely exists in low permeability Class I hydrates in the Shenhu offshore area. Therefore, taking into account the low-permeability characteristics with an average permeability of 5.5 mD and moderate heterogeneity,a 3-D geological model of heterogeneous Class I hydrate reservoirs with three-phase transition layers is established by Kriging interpolation and stochastic modeling method, and a numerical simulation model is used to describe the depressurization production performance of the reservoir. With the development of depressurization,a specific range of complete decomposition zones appear both in the hydrate and transition layers. The entire decomposition zone of the whole reservoir tends to outward and upward diffusion. There is apparent methane escape in the three-phase transition layer.Due to the improvement of local permeability caused by the phase transition of hydrate dissociation, some methane accumulation occurs at the bottom of the hydrate layer, forming a local methane enrichment zone. The methane migration trends in reservoirs are mainly characterized by movement toward production wells and hydrate layers under the influence of gravity. However, due to the permeability limitation of hydrate reservoirs, many fluids have not been effectively produced and remain in the reservoir. Therefore,to improve the effective pressure drop of the reservoir, the perforation method and pressure reduction method were optimized by analyzing the influencing factors based on the gas production rate. The comparative study demonstrates that perforating through the free gas layer combined with one-time depressurization can enhance the effective depressurization and improve production performance. The gas production rate from perforating through the free gas layer can be twice as high as that from perforating through the transition layer. This study can provide theoretical support for the utilization of marine energy.

文摘The phase-field method is used to study the free dendritic crystal growth under forced convection with hypergravity, the hypergravity term is introduced into the liquid-phase momentum equation to examine the dendritic growth. The paper focuses on the morphology of dendrite growth as well as the tip radius of the upstream dendritic arm and the average growth velocity of dendrite tips under different hypergravity levels. The results show that the morphology of dendrite changes significantly under represent simulation conditions when the hypergravity reaches 35_(g0),the upstream dendritic arm will bifurcate and the horizontal dendrite arms gradually tilt upwards. This change is mainly caused by the hypergravity and flow changing the temperature field near the dendrite interface. In addition, before the morphology of the dendrite is significantly altered, the radius of the tip of the dendrite upstream arm becomes larger with the increase in hypergravity, and the average growth velocity will increase linearly with it.The morphology of dendritic growth under different hypergravity and the changes in the tip radius along with the average growth velocity of the upstream dendritic tip with hypergravity are given in this paper. Finally, the reasons for these phenomena are analyzed.
文摘This study presents the results of a Monte Carlo simulation to compare the statistical power of Siegel-Tukey and Savage tests. The main purpose of the study is to evaluate the statistical power of both tests in scenarios involving Normal,Platykurtic and Skewed distributions over different sample sizes and standard deviation values. In the study, standard deviation ratios were set as 2,3,4,1/2,1/3 and 1/4 and power comparisons were made between small and large sample sizes. For equal sample sizes, small sample sizes of 5,8,10,12,16 and 20 and large sample sizes of 25,50,75 and 100 were used. For different sample sizes, the combinations of(4,16),(8,16),(10,20),(16,4),(16,8)and(20,10)small sample sizes and(10,30),(30,10),(50,75),(50,100),(75,50),(75,100),(100,50)and(100,75)large sample sizes were examined in detail.According to the findings, the power analysis under variance heterogeneity conditions shows that the Siegel-Tukey test has a higher statistical power than the other nonparametric Savage test at small and large sample sizes. In particular, the Siegel-Tukey test was reported to offer higher precision and power under variance heterogeneity, regardless of having equal or different sample sizes.

文摘Various velocity models have been built for Southeast Qinghai-Xizang Plateau with the purpose of revealing the internal dynamics and estimating local seismic hazards. In this study,we use a 3-D full-waveform modeling package to systematically validate three published continental-scale velocity models, that is,Shen2016,FWEA18,and USTClitho1.0,leveraging the ample datasets in Southeast Qinghai-Xizang Plateau region.Travel time residuals and waveform similarities are measured between observed empirical Green’s functions and synthetic waveforms. The results show that the Shen2016 model, derived from traditional surface wave tomography, performs best in fitting Rayleigh waves in the Southeast Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, followed by FWEA18,built from full-waveform inversion of long-period body and surface waves. The USTClitho1.0 model, although inverted from body wave datasets,is comparable with FWEA18 in fitting Rayleigh waves. The results also show that all the models are faster than the ground-truth model and show relatively large travel-time residuals and poor waveform similarities at shorter period bands, possibly caused by small-scale structural heterogeneities in the shallower crust. We further invert the time residuals for spatial velocity residuals and reveal that all three models underestimate the amplitudes of high-and low-velocity anomalies. The underestimated amplitude is up to 4%,which is non-negligible considering that the overall amplitude of anomalies is only 5%−10%in the crust. These results suggest that datasets and the inversion method are both essential to building accurate models and further refinements of these models are necessary.

文摘The finite-difference method(FDM)is an essential tool in exploration geophysics, particularly for simulating wave propagation in fluid-solid coupled media.Despite its widespread use,FDM faces significant challenges that affect its accuracy and efficiency.Firstly, the implicit handling of fluid-solid boundary conditions through parameter averaging strategy often results in low simulation accuracy.Secondly, surface topography can introduce staircase diffraction noise when grid spacing is large. To address these issues, this paper presents a novel approach. We derive an implicit expression for fluidsolid boundary conditions based on average medium theory, translating explicit boundary conditions into model parameter modification. This enables implicit handling of fluid-solid boundaries by modifying the parameters near the boundary.Furthermore,to mitigate staircase diffraction noise,we employ multiple interface discretization based on the superposition method. This effectively suppresses staircase diffraction noise without requiring grid refinement. The efficacy of our method in accurately modeling wave propagation phenomena in fluid-solid coupled media is demonstrated by numerical examples. Results align well with those obtained using the spectral element method(SEM),with significant reduction in staircase diffraction noise.

文摘Traditionally,a continuous-wave(CW)signal is used to simulate RF circuits during the design procedure, while the fabricated circuits are measured by modulated signals in the test phase, because modulated signals are used in reality. It is almost impossible to use a CW signal to predict system performances, such as error vector magnitude(EVM),bit error rate(BER),etc.,of a transceiver front-end when dealing with complex modulated signals. This paper develops an integrated system evaluation engine(ISEE)to evaluate the system performances of a transceiver front-end or its sub-circuits.This crossdomain simulation platform is based on Matlab, advanced design system(ADS),and Cadence simulators to link the baseband signals and transceiver frond-end.An orthogonal frequency division multiplex(OFDM)modem is implemented in Matlab for evaluating the system performances. The modulated baseband signal from Matlab is dynamically fed into ADS,which includes transceiver front-end for co-simulation.The sub-block circuits of the transceiver front-end can be implemented using ADS and Cadence simulators. After system-level circuit simulation in ADS,the output signal is dynamically delivered to Matlab for demodulation. To simplify the use of the co-simulation platform,a graphical user interface(GUI)is constructed using Matlab. The parameters of the OFDM signals can be easily reconfigured on the GUI to simulate RF circuits with different modulation schemes. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the ISEE,a 3.5 GHz power amplifier is simulated and characterized using 20 MHz 16-and 64-QAM OFDM signals.

文摘As the integration of electronic components in high-performance servers increases, heat generation significantly impacts performance and raises failure rates. Therefore, heat dissipation has become a critical concern in electronic circuit design. This study uses numerical simulations to investigate the heat dissipation characteristics of electronic components in air-cooled servers.By adjusting airflow speed, heat sink configurations, and the arrangement of straight-fin heat sinks,we optimize heat dissipation performance and analyze the mechanisms at different airflow speeds. The results show that,at the same airflow speed, the temperature of the heat sink is lower than that of the electronic components, creating a temperature gradient that enhances heat transfer.Compared to a front-to-back arrangement of two straight-fin heat sinks, placing the heat sinks parallel to each other results in a lower maximum component temperature and better temperature uniformity.Heat sinks with fins significantly improve heat dissipation. The heat sink with semicylindrical fins on the rib surface provides the best cooling performance. Moreover, compared to natural convection, the maximum temperature of the electronic components decreases by 56.17%and 61%when the incoming flow velocity is 6 m/s with two parallel flat ribbed heat sinks and front-to-back arrangement, respectively.

文摘The oceanic mixed layer in the Southern Ocean is characterized by numerous fronts due to the stirring of freshwater influxes arising from ice melting. The interaction of these fronts with winds modulates the evolution of the mixed layer and affects atmosphere−ocean energy exchanges. However, the underlying mechanism behind the wind-front interaction remains obscure due to a lack of three-dimensional observations of the ocean, particularly in terms of velocities. To address this issue, this study investigates the dynamics of fronts within the mixed layer during a storm by employing a subset of the global submesoscale-permitting simulation,Northeast Weddell Sea Pre-SWOT Level-4 Hourly MITgcm LLC4320 Native Grid 2km Oceanographic Dataset(ROAM_MIZ).We first compare the ROAM_MIZ data to glider data to assess the performance of the model simulation and find that the ROAM_MIZ can,to a large degree, capture sub-mesoscale features within a mixed layer.Subsequent analyses based on a subset of ROAM_MIZ show that lateral density gradients within the mixed layer rapidly decrease during high winds associated with the storm.Down-front winds accelerate this process as the Ekman buoyancy transport responsible for enhancing the instability of the fronts is primarily dominated by horizontal baroclinic components. After the storm, the fronts strengthen again in the presence of weaker winds due to the frontogenesis by the larger-scale strain. Moreover, the non-geostrophic turbulence induces a modification of the relative vorticity, affecting the instability within the mixed layer. These findings offer valuable guidance for the deployment of observational instruments and subsequent analysis,as well as deepen the understanding of air−sea interactions in the Southern Ocean.

文摘At low-Reynolds-number,the performance of airfoil is known to be greatly affected by the formation and burst of a laminar separation bubble(LSB),which requires a more precise simulation of the delicate flow structures.A framework based on the interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin method and large eddy simulation approach was adopted in the present study. The performances of various subgrid models, including the Smagorinsky(SM)model, the dynamic Smagorinsky(DSM)model, the wall-adapting local-eddy-viscosity(WALE)model,and the VREMAN model, have been analyzed through flow simulations of the SD7003 airfoil at a Reynolds number of 60000.It turns out that the SM model fails to predict the emergence of LSB,even modified by the Van-Driest damping function. On the contrary, the best agreement is generally achieved by the WALE model in terms of flow separation, reattachment, and transition locations, together with the aerodynamic loads.Furthermore, the influence of numerical dissipation has also been discussed through the comparison of skin friction and resolved Reynolds stresses. As numerical dissipation decreases, the prediction accuracy of the WALE model degrades.Meanwhile, nonlinear variation could be observed from the performances of the DSM model, which could be attributed to the interaction between the numerical dissipation and the subgrid model.
