From the perspective of historical geography,this study conducts an in-depth investigation into the heritage timeline,regional characteristics,and formative factors of Longsha medical school(龙砂医派Longsha medicine).Tracing its origin to the Song Dynasty,Longsha medicine has been handed down through successive generations,with numerous renowned physicians such as Xu Shuwei(许叔微)and Lu Wengui(陆文圭)making remarkable contributions to its development.A combination of favorable geographical location,superior ecological environment,an open cultural atmosphere,abundant local medicinal resources,and the unique physical constitutions of the local population comprehensively shaped the school’s distinct features and fueled its evolution.The core characteristics of Longsha medicine can be summarized as:emphasizing on inheritance and academic exploration,focusing on traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)classical theories and clinical practice,and embodying profound cultural connotations.As a regional and comprehensive TCM academic school,it originated in the Huashi area(historically known as Longsha)in Jiangyin County,Wuxi City,Jiangsu Province,gradually expanded to the areas surrounding Taihu Lake(太湖),and exerted far-reaching influence nationwide.Serving as a core representative of the TCM academic field in the Yangtze River Delta,Longsha medicine boasts a long history,solid cultural foundation,a galaxy of eminent physicians,classic works,distinct academic traits,unique diagnostic and therapeutic techniques,and vigorous dynamic inheritance.Contemporary in-depth research on Longsha medicine not only facilitates the dynamic inheritance of the core TCM theories such as Wu Yun Liu Qi(五运六气the five movements and six qi theory)in Huang Di Nei Jing(《黄帝内经》The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic)but also verifies the effectiveness and scientific validity of TCM classical theories in guiding the prevention and treatment of modern diseases.Thus,the study helps to protect regional medical-historical sources,enrich the doctrinal landscape of TCM,sustain distinctive academic techniques,catalyzes contemporary innovation,cultivates characteristic TCM talent,and enhances clinical service effectiveness. 展开更多

The Influence of Discrimination Perception on the Psychological Resilience among Vocational High School Students:Longitudinal Mediating Effect of Vocational Identity

Objectives:Psychological resilience is a critical resource for vocational high school students navigating social biases and fostering mental well-being.This six-month longitudinal study investigated the developmental trajectories of discrimination perception,vocational identity,and psychological resilience in this population.It further examined the longitudinal mediating role of vocational identity in the relationship between discrimination perception and psychological resilience.Methods:A total of 526 students from five vocational high schools in Guangdong,China,were assessed via convenience sampling at two time points:baseline(T1,September 2023)and six-month follow-up(T2,March 2024).Measures of discrimination perception,psychological resilience,and vocational identity were administered.Data were analyzed using a cross-lagged panel model to test for bidirectional relationships.Results:Over the six-month period,students showed significant decreases in discrimination perception and vocational identity,but a significant increase in psychological resilience.The cross-lagged model revealed significant bidirectional relationships:discrimination perception and psychological resilience negatively predicted each other over time(β=−0.124,p<0.01;β=−0.200,p<0.001),while psychological resilience and vocational identity positively predicted each other(β=0.084,p<0.05;β=0.076,p<0.05).The mediation analysis revealed a dual-pathway mechanism.T1 discrimination perception exerted both a significant direct negative effect on T2 psychological resilience(β=−0.332,p<0.001)and a significant indirect positive effect via T1 vocational identity(indirect effect=0.020,95%CI[0.001,0.046]).This confirms a partial mediating role,indicating that vocational identity functions as a compensatory mechanism,transforming the experience of discrimination perception into a potential source of psychological resilience.Conclusions:For vocational high school students,perception of discrimination directly undermines psychological resilience,but also indirectly fosters it through the positive development of vocational identity.These findings highlight vocational identity as a pivotal mechanism in the complex relationship between social adversity and mental resilience. 展开更多

The purpose of this study is to gain perspectives on introducing IBCTL(International Baccalaureate Certificate in Teaching and Learning)into graduate school of teacher education in Japan,which are currently providing advanced teacher training programs aimed at cultivating student agency,a comprehensive set of skills necessary for children living in the future,as advocated by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD)Education 2030 Project.To achieve this goal,I examined the curriculum and structure that are important for IB teacher training and the introduction of IBCTL.I attempted to achieve this goal by examining the curriculum being developed at a graduate school of teacher education attempting to implement IBCTL and the creation of a syllabus based on that curriculum through lesson planning.As a result,I examined the curriculum and structure as a perspective for introducing IBCTL into graduate school of teacher education in Japan,where advanced teacher training is required.I found that a core curriculum and structure that incorporates the core of the IBCTL into the core of graduate school of teacher education programs is important for implementing an IB education that is aligned with the advancement of teacher training and the development of student agency. 展开更多

An Exploration of the Relation between Hunting and Aggressiveness: Using Inmates Networks at Prison Secondary School as an Illustration 被引量:6

Aim of this research is to explore the relation of hunting with aggressiveness. For this purpose, two samples of prison inmates (who were students of the prison secondary school) were collected (class A = 23, class B = 12). The network indicators for superficial, idiosyncratic and strategic behavior (particularly, aggressiveness), applied in Bekiari and Hasanagas (2016), which were based on the primary network variables (outdegree, indegree, Katz status, pagerank, authority) were used. Non-network variables were also used for the criminal profile of the inmates. The data were sampled with questionnaire. Spearman test was conducted for detecting correlation between aggressiveness and hunting and Principal Component Analysis was used for formulating a typology. The following results were produced: The criminal profile seems hardly to be related with hunting experience or attitude. The relation of hunting experience and attitude with the superficial, idiosyncratic and strategic aggressiveness was examined. These three occasions of aggressiveness are expected to describe the incidental reaction, impulsive and adaptive reaction, respectively. The hunting is quite irrelevant to the incidental reaction. The impulsiveness seems to be more strongly correlated with hunting. In case of adaptiveness, there are many similarities with impulsiveness. The typology which is based on the existence (or not) of hunting experience seems to be more insightful, as it reveals a gradual involvement of aggressiveness dimensions, from incidentality to impulsiveness and further to adaptiveness. The following behavioral patterns of gradually enhanced aggressiveness appear: incidentally just provoking, impulsively being aggressive but without harming, and adaptively being aggressive and harming. 展开更多

Focusing on the peculiarities of urban construction resulting from specific mountain terrains, the purpose of this study is to find out a suitable method based on a Spatial Network Comprehensive Model(SNCM) to reasonably plan and distribute primary schools in low-income mountain cities. The construction principles and advantages of the SNCM method are proposed and the method tested in Wanyuan city of Qinba Mountain area(Southwest China) to verify its feasibility and optimization. Taking account of the mountain terrain and its influence on user behavior, we used the SNCM method to build a comprehensive model which integrates the road slope and the walking speed of pupils into the basic spatial model. The model is used to calculate a reasonable layout of the primary schools and to validate the rationale. The results show that the SNCM method can be effectively applied in low-income mountainous cities. It can not only improve the accessibility and service efficiency of primary schools using as little capital-investment as possible, but also help the city grow in an intensive and efficient way. 展开更多

The EuroLifeNet Study: How Different Microenvironments Influence Personal Exposure to PM<sub>2.5</sub>among High-School Students in Milan

Epidemiological studies show that long-term exposure to PM is associated with an increased risk of cancer. The EuroLifeNet study measured the personal exposure to PM2.5 in 90 pupils attending three schools in Milan, using a portable nephelometer, over a three-week period spanning November and December 2006. Background levels explained 40% of the variability of the exposure. Methods: As a second part of that study we analyzed the role of different microenvironments as determinants of personal exposure to PM2.5. Results: Exposure was influenced by the time of day, zone of the city and different microenvironments. Exposure was higher indoors than out, and indoors it was higher in the kitchen, particularly during cooking. In outdoor environments exposure was higher at bus stops where road traffic was heavy. Conclusions: Even though background concentration can be a good predictor of personal exposure to PM, students’ personal exposure is strongly influenced by different microenvironments and should be considered in population studies. The EuroLifeNet experience gives a contribution to personal exposure measure methodology. 展开更多

Enabling Proactive Management of School Dropouts Using Neural Network

One particular persisting challenge, which can be addressed by AI, is school dropouts whereby hundreds of thousands of children drop annually in Africa. This article presents a data-driven approach to proactively predict likelihood of dropping from schools and enable effective management of dropouts. The approach is guided by a carefully crafted conceptual framework and new concepts of average absenteeism, current cumulative absenteeism and dropout risk appetite. In this study, a typical scenario of missing quality data is considered and for which synthetic data is generated to enable development of a functioning prediction model using neural network. The results show that, using the proposed approach, the levels of risk of dropping out of schools can be practically determined using data that is largely available in schools. Potentially, the study will inspire further research, encourage deployment of the technologies in real life, and inform processes of formulating or improving policies.</span> </div> 展开更多
