Methods: Statistical methodology including the Plackett-Burman design (PBD) and the central composite design (CCD) was employed to investigate the individual crucial component of the medium that significantly affected the enzyme yield. Results: Firstly, NaNO3, yeast extract, urea, Na2CO3, MgSO4, peptone and (NH4)2SO4 were screened as the significant factors positively affecting the xylanase production by PBD. Secondly, by valuating the nitrogen sources effect, urea was proved to be the most effective and economic nitrogen source for xylanase production and used for further optimization. Finally, the CCD and response surface methodology (RSM) were applied to determine the optimal concentration of each sig-nificant variable, which included urea, Na2CO3 and MgSO4. Subsequently a second-order polynomial was determined by multiple regression analysis. The optimum values of the critical components for maximum xylanase production were obtained as follows: x1 (urea)=0.163 (41.63 g/L), x2 (Na2CO3)=?1.68 (2.64 g/L), x3 (MgSO4)=1.338 (10.68 g/L) and the predicted xylanase value was 14374.6 U/g dry substrate. Using the optimized condition, xylanase production by Aspergillus niger XY-1 after 48 h fermentation reached 14637 U/g dry substrate with wheat bran in the shake flask. Conclusion: By using PBD and CCD, we obtained the optimal composition for xylanase production by Aspergillus niger XY-1 in SSF, and the results of no additional expensive medium and shortened fermentation time for higher xylanase production show the potential for industrial utilization.展开更多

A two-factor 5-level central composite experimental design was employed. Responses of the Peppas correlation parameters n and K and the 10% release time (T0.1) were optimized by response surface methodology. Significant effect of the independent variables on the biphasic release parameters, n and K, was observed. N, K and T0.1 were well fitted with the second-order quadratic equations rather than linear equations. Moreover, the mathematic fitting and the response surfaces showed significant cross-interaction between the pectin/calcium chloride ratio and the overall matrix weight. The optimal formulation with larger n, longer T0.1 and smaller K consisted of medium pectin/calcium chloride ratio around 1.0 and medium matrix weight around 200 mg. Validation studies on the optimal formulations showed good predictability of the n, K and T0.1 values with biases within the range of-7.33% and 6.26%. Our results support that central composite design can be used to optimize drug release from HPMC/pectin/calcium matrix tablet with high predictability.展开更多

The most important factors influencing phenol degradation (p 〈 0.05), as identified by a two-level Plackett-Burman design with 11 variables, were yeast extract, phenol, inoculum size, and temperature. Steepest ascent method was undertaken to determine the optimal regions of these four significant factors. Central composite design (CCD) and response surface analysis were adopted to further investigate the mutual interactions between these variables and to identify their optimal values that would generate maximum phenol degradation. The analysis results indicated that interactions between yeast extract and temperature, phenol and temperature, inocuhim size and temperature affected the response variable (phenol degradation) significantly. The predicted results showed that the maximum removal efficiency of phenol (99.10%) could be obtained under the optimum conditions of yeast extract 0.41 g/L, phenol 1.03 g/L, inoculum size 1.43% (V/V) and temperature 30.04℃. These predicted values were further verified by validation experiments. The excellent correlation between predicted and experimental values confirmed the validity and practicability of this statistical optimum strategy. This study indicated the excellent ability of C. tropicalis Z-04 in degrading high-strength phenol. Optimal conditions obtained in this experiment laid a solid foundation for further use of this microorganism in the treatment of highstrength phenol effluents.展开更多

However, due to the existence of uncertainties in material properties and geometry, it is imperative to incorporate uncertainty analysis into the design optimization to obtain reliable results. In this paper, a six sigma robust design optimization based on Successive Response Surface Method(SRSM) is established for the TPS to improve the reliability and robustness with considering the uncertainties. The uncertain parameters related to material properties and thicknesses of insulation layers are considered and characterized by random variables following normal distributions. By employing SRSM, the values of objective function and constraints are approximated by the response surfaces to reduce computational cost. The optimization is an iterative process with response surfaces updating to find the true optimal solution. The optimization of the nose cone of hypersonic vehicle cabin is provided as an example to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多

The Orthotropic Experiment Method (OEM) is used to select the most appropriate design samples for network training. The trained response surfaces can either be objective function or constraint conditions. Together with other conven- tional constraints, an optimization model is then set up and can be solved by Genetic Algorithm (GA). This allows the separation between design analysis modeling and optimization searching. Through an example of a hat-stiffened composite plate design, the weight response surface is constructed to be objective function, and strength and buckling response surfaces as constraints; and all of them are trained through NASTRAN finite element analysis. The results of optimization study illustrate that the cycles of structural analysis ean be remarkably reduced or even eliminated during the optimization, thus greatly raising the efficiency of optimization process. It also observed that NNRS approximation can achieve equal or even better accuracy than conventional functional response surfaces.展开更多

The experimental data on chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal (%) were fitted into a quadratic polynomial model using multiple regression analysis. The optimum process conditions were determined by analyzing response surface three-dimensional surface plot and contour plot and by solving the regression model equation with Design Expert software. Box-Behnken design technique under RSM was used to optimize their interactions, which showed that an incubation temperature of 32.5℃, agitation of 105 r/min, and pH of 5.5 were the best conditions. These optimum conditions were used to evaluate the trail experiment, and the maximum yield of COD removal was recorded as 98.5%.展开更多

文摘This study employed the Box-Behnken design in response surface methodology(RSM)to optimize predistillation and pressurized distillation column parameters in methanol distillation.Statistical and fittinganalyses demonstrated the effects of operational parameters and their interactions on product purity and operating costs. Results showed that for methanol mass fraction in the product, the top distillate of the predistillation column(D_(1)),the interaction between D_(1) and the top distillate of the pressurized distillation column(D_(2)),and the interaction between the theoretical plates of the pressurized distillation column(N_(2))and its refluxratio(R_(2))significantlyaffected the outcome,in addition to pressurized distillation column parameters.Acetone mass fraction was mainly influencedby predistillation column parameters and their interactions, with minimal relation to the pressurized distillation column.Operating costs were primarily affected by the refluxratio(R),withdrawal(D)of both columns, and their interactions.Optimization strategies involved increasing theoretical plates and reducing refluxratios compared to the initial plan, achieving energy-saving and consumption-reduction goals. The process required the pressurized distillation column‘s methanol mass fraction to exceed 99.80%,acetone mass fraction below 2×10^(-8),and formaldehyde mass fraction below 5×10^(-9),with a feed rate of 6100 kg·h^(-1).Plans A,B,and C achieved energy-savings of 29.80%,21.78%,and 25.50%respectively,while ensuring separation efficiencyand product quality. This research provides theoretical and practical guidance for optimizing the methanol distillation process, helping to reduce energy consumption and production costs, thereby enhancing corporate competitiveness.

文摘Traditional demand response(DR)programs for energy-intensive industries(EIIs)primarily rely on electricity price signals and often overlook carbon emission factors, limiting their effectiveness in supporting lowcarbon transitions. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an electricity–carbon integratedDR strategy based on a bi-level collaborative optimization framework that coordinates the interaction between the grid and EIIs.At the upper level, the grid operatorminimizes generation and curtailment costs by optimizing unit commitment while determining real-time electricity prices and dynamic carbon emission factors. At the lower level,EIIs respond to these dual signals by minimizing their combined electricity and carbon trading costs, considering their participation in medium-and long-term electricity markets,day-ahead spot markets, and carbon emissions trading schemes. The model accounts for direct and indirect carbon emissions, distributed photovoltaic(PV)generation, and battery energy storage systems. This interaction is structured as a Stackelberg game, where the grid acts as the leader and EIIs as followers, enabling dynamic feedback between pricing signals and load response.Simulation studies on an improved IEEE 30-bus system, with a cement plant as a representative user form EIIs,show that the proposed strategy reduces user-side carbon emissions by 7.95% and grid-side generation cost by 4.66%,though the user’s energy cost increases by 7.80% due to carbon trading.Theresults confirmthat the joint guidance of electricity and carbon prices effectively reshapes user load profiles, encourages peak shaving, and improves PV utilization. This coordinated approach not only achieves emission reduction and cost efficiency but also offers a theoretical and practical foundation for integrating carbon pricing into demand-side energy management in future low-carbon power systems.

文摘To solve the problems of deformation,micro-cracks,and residual tensile stress in laser cladding coatings, the technique of laser cladding with Fe-based memory alloy can be considered. However, the process of in-situ synthesis of Fe-based memory alloy coatings is extremely complex. At present, there is no clear guidance scheme for its preparation process, which limits its promotion and application to some extent. Therefore,in this study, response surface methodology(RSM)was used to model the response surface between the target values and the cladding process parameters. The NSGA-2 algorithm was employed to optimize the process parameters. The results indicate that the composite optimization method consisting of RSM and the NSGA-2 algorithm can establish a more accurate model, with an error of less than 4.5%between the predicted and actual values.Based on this established model, the optimal scheme for process parameters corresponding to different target results can be rapidly obtained. The prepared coating exhibits a uniform structure, with no defects such as pores, cracks, and deformation. The surface roughness and microhardness of the coating are enhanced, the shaping quality of the coating is effectively improved, and the electrochemical corrosion performance of the coating in 3.5%NaCl solution is obviously better than that of the substrate, providing an important guide for engineering applications.

文摘Addressing climate change and facilitating the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources(RESs)have driven the development of hydrogen-coupled integrated energy systems(HIES),which enhance energy sustainability through coordinated electricity, thermal, natural gas,and hydrogen utilization. This study proposes a two-stage distributionally robust optimization(DRO)-based scheduling method to improve the economic efficiency and reduce carbon emissions of HIES.The framework incorporates a ladder-type carbon trading mechanism to regulate emissions and implements a demand response(DR)program to adjustflexible multi-energy loads, thereby prioritizing RES consumption.Uncertainties from RES generation and load demand are addressed through an ambiguity set, enabling robust decision-making.The column-and-constraint generation(C&CG)algorithm efficiently solves the two-stage DRO model.Case studies demonstrate that the proposed method reduces operational costs by 3.56%,increases photovoltaic consumption rates by 5.44%,and significantly lowers carbon emissions compared to conventional approaches.Furthermore, the DRO framework achieves a superior balance between conservativeness and robustness over conventional stochastic and robust optimization methods, highlighting its potential to advance cost-effective,low-carbon energy systems while ensuring grid stability under uncertainty.

文摘Objective: To study the optimal medium composition for xylanase production by Aspergillus niger XY-1 in solid-state fermentation (SSF). Conclusion: By using PBD and CCD, we obtained the optimal composition for xylanase production by Aspergillus niger XY-1 in SSF, and the results of no additional expensive medium and shortened fermentation time for higher xylanase production show the potential for industrial utilization.
文摘An effective optimization method for the shape/sizing design of composite wing structures is presented with satisfying weight-cutting results. After decoupling, a kind of two-layer cycled optimization strategy suitable for these integrated shape/sizing optimization is obtained. The uniform design method is used to provide sample points, and approximation models for shape design variables. And the results of sizing optimization are construct- ed with the quadratic response surface method (QRSM). The complex method based on QRSM is used to opti- mize the shape design variables and the criteria method is adopted to optimize the sizing design variables. Compared with the conventional method, the proposed algorithm is more effective and feasible for solving complex composite optimization problems and has good efficiency in weight cutting.
文摘In many practical structures, physical parameters of material and applied loads have random property. To optimize this kind of structures,an optimum mathematical model was built. This model has reliability constraints on dynamic stress and displacement and upper & lower limits of the design variables. The numerical characteristic of dynamic response and sensitivity of dynamic response based on probability of structure were deduced respectively. By equivalent disposing, the reliability constraints were changed into conventional forms. The SUMT method was used in the optimization process. Two examples illustrate the correctness and practicability of the optimum model and solving approach.
文摘The uniform design and response surface methodology (RSM) are applied to the multi-objective optimization of a 2-D mixed compression scramjet inlet. The set of experimental design points on the design space is selected by the uniform design, and the inlet performance is analyzed by computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Then complete quadratic polynomial response surface approximation models are constructed based on the performance analysis results and then used to replace theoriginal complex inlet performance model. The optimization is conducted using a multi-objective genetic algorithm NSGA-Ⅱ, and the Pareto optimal solution set is obtained. Results show that the uniform design and RSM can reduce the computational complexity of numerical simulation and improve the optimization efficiency.

文摘We studied the effect of two independent variables, the pectin/calcium chloride weight ratio and the overall matrix weight in HPMC/pectin/calcium matrix tablet, on the release of indomethacin. Our results support that central composite design can be used to optimize drug release from HPMC/pectin/calcium matrix tablet with high predictability.

文摘Statistical experimental designs were used to optimize the process of phenol degradation by Candida tropicalis Z-04, isolated from phenol-degrading aerobic granules. Optimal conditions obtained in this experiment laid a solid foundation for further use of this microorganism in the treatment of highstrength phenol effluents.

文摘Lightweight design is important for the Thermal Protection System(TPS) of hypersonic vehicles in that it protects the inner structure from severe heating environment. The optimization of the nose cone of hypersonic vehicle cabin is provided as an example to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
文摘Neural-Network Response Surfaces (NNRS) is applied to replace the actual expensive finite element analysis during the composite structural optimization process. It also observed that NNRS approximation can achieve equal or even better accuracy than conventional functional response surfaces.

文摘The optimization of process parameters for the bioconversion of activated sludge by Penicillium corylophilum was investigated using response surface methodology (RSM). The three parameters namely temperature of 33℃, agitation of 150 r/min, and pH of 5 were chosen as center point from the previous study of fungal treatment. Under these conditions, the maximum predicted yield of COD removal was 98.43%. These optimum conditions were used to evaluate the trail experiment, and the maximum yield of COD removal was recorded as 98.5%.

文摘In this paper, adaptive genetic algorithm (AGA) is applied to topology optimization of truss structure with frequency domain excitations. The optimization constraints include fundamental frequency, displacement responses under force excitations and acceleration responses under foundation acceleration excitations. The roulette wheel selection operator, adaptive crossover and mutation operators are used as genetic operators. Some heuristic strategies are put forward to direct the deletion of the extra bars and nodes on truss structures. Three examples demonstrate that the proposed method can yield the optimum structure form and the lightest weight of the given ground structure while satisfying dynamic response constraints.
