Standardization is necessary for the early industrialization of the new materials and technology.It is achieved by having agreed practices for the measurement of properties and other characteristics.The promising use of graphene-based materials in fields like electronics,energy,and composites has resulted in standards for their nomenclature,the measurement of key characteristics,and their specification,etc.Among these,standards for measuring the key characteristics are crucial.The critical parameters are the number of layers,the type and concentration of defects and functional groups,elemental composition,sheet resistance,and carrier mobility.Standards for characterizing these have been analyzed by the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee in ISO/TC229 and the International Electrotechnical Commission Technical Committee in IEC/TC113.These give details of applicable or preferred samples,the fundamental principles of the techniques,specific precautions,and points for attention in the relevant standards.The pivotal role of the ISO/TC229 and IEC/TC113 standards is considered and challenges and future trends are outlined. 展开更多

[Objectives]This study was conducted to investigate the application time,concentrations,and combinations of plant growth regulators,aiming to screen suitable concentrations,combinations,and treatment periods for enhancing the commercial quality of the fruit.[Methods]‘Xiangfei’grape was selected as the experimental material.Treatments were applied at two stages:full bloom and 10-14 d after flowering.Three plant growth regulators,gibberellin(GA 3),forchlorfenuron(CPPU),and thidiazuron(TDZ),were used at different concentrations and in various combinations.The aim was to investigate the effects of different treatments on the seedless rate and fruit quality of‘Xiangfei’grape and to identify the optimal protocol for seedlessness induction in this cultivar.[Results]The optimal treatment protocol was the application of GA 350 mg/L+TDZ 4 mg/L at full bloom,followed by clear water 10-14 d after full bloom.After this combined pre-and post-flowering treatment,a seedless rate of 73%was achieved.The corresponding fruit quality parameters were as follows:single berry weight,17.64 g;longitudinal diameter,28.94 mm;transverse diameter,30.21 mm;fruit firmness,8.41 N/cm_(2);and soluble protein content,0.94 mg/g.Compared with other treatments,this protocol improved berry longitudinal and transverse diameters,fruit firmness,single berry weight,soluble solid content,and soluble protein content in‘Xiangfei’berries.It also altered the fruit shape index,reduced tannin content,and had a minimal impact on vitamin C content.[Conclusions]This study can provide a theoretical basis and technical reference for the seedlessness production of‘Xiangfei’grape. 展开更多

Ensuring the reliability of power transmission networks depends heavily on the early detection of faults in key components such as insulators,which serve both mechanical and electrical functions.Even a single defective insulator can lead to equipment breakdown,costly service interruptions,and increased maintenance demands.While unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)enable rapid and cost-effective collection of high-resolution imagery,accurate defect identification remains challenging due to cluttered backgrounds,variable lighting,and the diverse appearance of faults.To address these issues,we introduce a real-time inspection framework that integrates an enhanced YOLOv10 detector with a Hybrid Quantum-Enhanced Graph Neural Network(HQGNN).The YOLOv10 module,fine-tuned on domainspecific UAV datasets,improves detection precision,while the HQGNN ensures multi-object tracking and temporal consistency across video frames.This synergy enables reliable and efficient identification of faulty insulators under complex environmental conditions.Experimental results show that the proposed YOLOv10-HQGNN model surpasses existing methods across all metrics,achieving Recall of 0.85 and Average Precision(AP)of 0.83,with clear gains in both accuracy and throughput.These advancements support automated,proactive maintenance strategies that minimize downtime and contribute to a safer,smarter energy infrastructure. 展开更多

Background Heat stress(HS)is posing as a tremendous threat to the swine industry,due to the thermos-sensitive gonads of boars.Testes are immune-privileged organs in which spermatogenesis needs to remain undisturbed,whereas immune cells are thermo-sensitive,especially macrophages,which are the most abundant testicular immune cells.Our study aimed to unveil the underlying immune responses and assess their consequences on the semen quality of boars under HS.The results will aid in addressing environmental temperature-related seasonal infertility and in selecting the best boar for use in artificial insemination.Methods The 3-week experiment assigned 268-week-old Rongchang male pigs into thermal neutral pair-feed(TN-PF)and HS groups.During the last 2 weeks,which served as the HS period,the HS group was subjected to 14-day 35±1℃,while the TN-PF group was kept at 26±1℃.Pig gonad tissues were sampled at the end of HS period for assessments and measurements.Results Our findings confirmed HS-related reactions such as elevated respiration rate(P<0.05)and elevated heat shock protein 60(HSP60;P<0.05)and heat shock protein 90(HSP90;P<0.05)expression levels.Sperm motility(P=0.06)and progressive sperms(P=0.08)were decreased under HS as was a significant reduction in average straight-line velocity(VSL;P<0.05).Additionally,total abnormality levels increased(P<0.05).Fibrosis,caspase-3 expression,and accumulations of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α;P<0.05)and interleukin-1β(IL-1β;P<0.05),along with an elevated macrophage composition(P<0.05)characterized the orchitis under HS.Single cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)revealed fluctuations in engulfing and inflammatory signals in testicular macrophages(TMs).In particular,the complement cascade was promoted by CD163+macrophages,resulting in membrane attack complex(C5b-9)assembly(P<0.05).Linear regressions further revealed a negative correlation between C5b-9 and sperm motility(P<0.05),as well as near-negative correlations between the C5b-9 and both progressive motility(P=0.08)and VSL(P=0.06).Conclusions Our findings highlighted the relationship between HS,the onset of orchitis,and the activation of the complement system,all of which decreased the boar semen quality. 展开更多

Background The deposition of intramuscular fat(IMF)in livestock can enhance the flavor and tenderness of meat products,significantly increasing consumer satisfaction.To achieve this industrial trait,this study investigated the regulatory effects of 20 dietary nutrients on sheep IMF deposition using a 3D organoid culture model.Results Key nutrients enhancing angiogenesis,adipocyte differentiation,and lipid accumulation were identified through assessments of capillary sprouts development,mRNA expression,and Oil Red O staining.Vitamins C(VC),E(VE),and K1(VK1),guanidinoacetic acid(GAA),leucine(Leu),lysine(Lys),methionine(Met),N-carbamylglutamate(NCG),tryptophan(Trp),α-linolenic acid(ALA),linoleic acid(LA),cis-9,trans-11 conjugated linoleic acid(c9,t11-CLA),acetic acid(HAc),and sodium acetate(NaAc)stimulated while vitamins B9(VB9),D(VD),K2(VK2),taurine(Tau),and sodium butyrate(NaBu)inhibited angiogenesis(P<0.05).Furthermore,VC,VE,VK1,VK2,GAA,Leu,NCG,Trp,ALA,LA,and HAc enhanced adipocyte differentiation,with VE,VK1,GAA,Leu,LA,and HAc additionally elevating lipid accumulation(P<0.05).Conclusions Various nutrients play distinct regulatory roles in angiogenesis,adipocyte differentiation,and lipid accumulation.These findings provide a roadmap for further optimizing the production of marbled meat through nutritional intervention in actual livestock breeding production. 展开更多

To address the issue of residual pollution caused by polyethylene mulch,this study explored the effects of different mulching methods on the soil environment of the yam field,as well as on yam yield and quality.The experiment comprised six treatments in total:one non-mulched treatment served as the control(CK),along with five different film-mulched treatments,namely PE,FZS12,FZS15,FC12,and FC15.The degradation of these films and their effects on soil physicochemical properties,microbial community,yam yield and quality were compared.The results showed that the FZS12 treatment achieved grade 5 degradation by the end of the planting period.Compared with PE treatment,the total soluble sugar content and yield of yam treated with FZS12 were significantly increased by 35.78%and 74.97%,respectively(p<0.05).Compared with CK and PE treatments,FZS12 significantly increased soil available nitrogen by 31.62%and 6.20%,respectively(p<0.05),and significantly increased soil available phosphorus by 8.58%and 4.45%,respectively(p<0.05).Soil pH,available nitrogen,and available phosphorus were the main environmental factors affecting the soil bacterial community.The FZS12 treatment significantly increased the relative abundances of soil bacteria phylum including Acidobacteriota,Myxococcota,Patescibacteria,and Proteobacteria compared with the CK and PE treatments.Functional prediction using Picrust2 revealed that the FZS12 treatment had significantly higher levels of signal transduction and amino acid metabolism than the CK and PE treatments.In conclusion,covering with 12μm PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable film enhances yam yield and total soluble sugar content by shaping beneficial soil microbial communities,activating soil nutrients. 展开更多

Background:Cyperi Rhizoma,derived from Cyperus rotundus L.,is a widely used medicinal herb in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),with Shandong Province recognized as its geo-authentic habitat.However,the quality of Cyperi Rhizoma varies significantly across different regions,potentially influencing its therapeutic efficacy.This study investigates the influence of geographic origin on the chemical composition and overall quality of Cyperi Rhizoma.Methods:A comprehensive approach,including traditional quality assessment,GC-MS(g as c hromatography-m ass s pectrometry),RP-HPLC(r everse p hase h igh-p erformance l iquid c hromatography),and FT-IR(f ourier t ransform i nfrared s pectroscopy)techniques,was employed to analyze Cyperi Rhizoma samples from Shandong Province.These methods examined the physical appearance,chemical profile,and content variations,particularly focusing onα-cyperone.Results:Traditional quality assessments revealed noticeable differences in the external characteristics of the samples.GC-MS analysis identified a variety of unique chemical constituents,while RP-HPLC and FT-IR showed significant variations inα-cyperone content,with higher levels found in Shandong samples.Conclusion:These results demonstrate that geographic origin is a critical determinant of Cyperi Rhizoma quality,with Shandong specimens exhibiting superiorα-cyperone levels and characteristic phytochemical profiles.This validates the geo-authenticity concept in TCM and provides actionable data for developing evidence-based quality standards,suggesting that provenance should be prioritized in medicinal material selection and pharmacopeial specifications. 展开更多

The present study investigated the effects of varying protein source combinations and feeding strategies on the growth,health and organoleptic quality of the large yellow croaker(Larimichthys crocea).Three iso-nitrogenous and iso-lipidic diets were formulated.The control diet was made with 62%fish meal(FM).The other two experimental diets were formulated by replacing 45%FM with 22.5%mealworm(TM)and 22.5%cottonseed protein concentrate(CPC),or with 22.5%TM and 22.5%Clostridium autoethanogenum protein(CAP),respectively.The three kinds of diet were named as A1,A2 and A3,respectively.Five groups of large yellow croaker were fed with two different strategies:the first three groups were continuously fed with A1,A2 and A3 diets,respectively.The fourth group was alternately fed with A1 and A2 diet every 5 days.The fifth group was alternately fed with A1 and A3diet every 5 days.The five groups were named D1,D2,D3,D1-2 and D1-3,respectively.Results showed that D2 and D3 groups exhibited significantly lower weight gain rate(WGR)and higher feed conversion ratios(FCR)compared to the D1 group.The D1-2 and D1-3 groups exhibited improved WGR and significantly reduced FCR compared to the D2 and D3 groups.The A2 and A3 diets significantly suppressed digestive enzymes'activities compared to A1,whereas alternate-feeding groups significantly enhanced the enzyme activities.Compared to the D1 group,D2 and D3 groups significantly downregulated mRNA expression levels of intestinal antiinflammatory cytokines and upregulated the expression of pro-inflammatory mediators.The anti-inflammatory abilities in the D1-2and D1-3 groups were significantly higher than those in the D2 and D3 groups.Additionally,diets containing TM+CAP and TM+CPC protein sources enhanced ventral redness and yellowness indices.Considering the growth,digestion,immunity and organoleptic quality of large yellow croaker,it is recommended to replace up to 45%of FM with TM+CPC and use an alternate-feeding strategy. 展开更多

Objectives:Loneliness among left-behind adolescents is the most frequently reported emotional problem because of parental neglect.The present study explored the relationship between maternal absence and adolescent loneliness as well as its mechanisms.Methods:The study included 305 participants(Meanage=15.99±0.81,48.9%females)in southeast China,and constructed a chain mediation model to test the roles of rejection sensitivity and friendship quality.Parent absence types,rejection sensitivity,friendship quality,and adolescent loneliness were all assessed with questionnaires.Results:The results showed that adolescents with a mother absent(both-parent absent,mother-only absent)experienced higher levels of loneliness than those with a mother not absent(father-only absent,non-parent absent)(β=0.3137,95%CI[0.0849,0.5425],p<0.01).Besides,the mediating roles of rejection sensitivity(β=0.0344,95%CI[0.0020,0.0808])and friendship quality(β=0.1198,95%CI[0.0049,0.2428])and their chain mediating role were found significant between maternal absence and loneliness(β=0.0245,95%CI[0.0015,0.0575]).Conclusions:These findings have revealed the significant impact of maternal absence on adolescent loneliness and provide important practical implications for educators to reduce adolescent loneliness. 展开更多

Insomnia disorder negatively affects the quality of life of patients.Phototherapy has proven effective in treating sleep problems.This study aimed to summarize the impact of phototherapy on sleep quality in patients with insomnia disorder and the factors influencing its effectiveness.We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)guidelines and registered experiments on the PROSPERO website,retrieving 12 randomized controlled trials that included at least one sleep quality outcome measure available for analysis from the four databases.Meta-analysis was conducted using the RevMan software,using Mean Differences(MD)and its 95% Confidence Interval(CI)to evaluate treatment efficacy and the Cochrane bias risk assessment tool to assess bias risk.The results showed that phototherapy prolonged the total sleep time of patients,with the subgroup analysis indicating that this was related to the choice of phototherapy time and light intensity.Using high-intensity(≥2000l×)light in the morning may be more effective in improving sleep-related indicators.In summary,phototherapy improved the sleep quality of patients with insomnia disorder.However,owing to the limited sample size and heterogeneity of the included studies,more comprehensive experiments are needed to explore phototherapy conditions. 展开更多

Objectives This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the stepped self-care program on the self-care,self-efficacy,and quality of life of stroke survivors.Methods This quasi-experimental study allocated 110 stroke survivors from two neurology wards into an intervention group(n=55)who received the stepped self-care program and a control group(n=55)who received usual care from June to December 2023.The Self-Care of Stroke Inventory,Stroke Self-Efficacy Questionnaire,and the short version of the Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale were administered at baseline(T0),immediately post-intervention(T_(1)),and at 1-month(T_(2))and 3-month(T_(3))follow-ups.Data were analyzed using repeated measures analyses of variance,and generalized estimating equations.Results A total of 48 participants in the intervention group and 50 participants in the control group completed the study.No statistically significant differences were observed at T0 in any of the measured indicators(all P>0.05).The study showed significant group,time,and group×time interaction effects across the assessed outcomes(all P<0.05).Follow-up between-group comparisons at T_(1),T_(2),and T_(3) indicated that the intervention group had significantly higher scores in self-care maintenance,self-care monitoring,self-care management,self-efficacy,and quality of life than the control group(all P<0.001).Conclusions The stepped self-care program significantly improved self-care behaviors,self-efficacy,and quality of life among stroke survivors.These findings support the broader implementation of this approach in post-discharge home self-care. 展开更多

In the evolving global economy,China’s Outward Foreign Direct Investment(OFDI)holds increasing significance,specially within the context of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI).Despite earlier studies have acknowledged the role of governance quality in at-tracting Chinese OFDI,their explanatory capacity regarding human development has not received sufficient attention.This study ad-dresses this gap,investigating the relationship between Chinese OFDI and human development,emphasizing the governance quality’s moderating role.Using data from 122 BRI countries from 2004 to 2021,we employed the Panel Corrected Standard Error model through Prais-Winsten regression,complimented by robustness check via the Spatial Durbin Model.Our analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between Chinese OFDI and human development in BRI countries,indicating that Chinese investments act as cata-lysts for improved well-being.More importantly,governance quality plays a vital role in shaping this relationship,revealing that effect-ive governance enhanced the human development outcomes of OFDI.Post-hoc analysis of governance indicators,both as a composite index and individual dimensions,supported this finding.Regional heterogeneity analysis further showed that Chinese OFDI has stronger effects on Human Development Index(HDI)in Asia and Africa compared to Europe,Latin America,and Oceania.However,the moder-ating effect of governance quality seemed more prominent in Oceania and Latin America,indicating its role in fostering the benefits of Chinese investments in these regions.These findings hold implications for academia and policy,emphasizing the need for transparent,accountable,and effective governance to drive sustainable and inclusive human development within the BRI framework. 展开更多

[Objectives]This study was conducted to establish a quantitative assessment method for the textural quality of chieh-qua fruit.[Methods]Using two modes of a texture analyzer,namely TPA(texture profile analysis)and puncture,the index data of the fruit were obtained by setting different trigger forces,deformation levels,test speeds,as well as puncture speeds and puncture depths.The data included TPA hardness,adhesiveness,springiness,cohesiveness,gumminess,chewiness,resilience,as well as skin hardness,skin toughness,flesh hardness,fracturability,and compactness.[Results]Different deformation levels had a significant impact on all parameters.Hardness,adhesiveness,gumminess and chewiness showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing with the deformation level increasing.When the deformation level was 30%,the adhesiveness,gumminess and chewiness reached their maximum values.When the deformation level was 50%,TPA hardness reached its maximum.When the compression speed was 3 mm/s,the measured values of TPA hardness,adhesiveness,chewiness,and resilience were at their maximums.The skin hardness varied significantly under different trigger forces.When the trigger force was 15 g,the skin hardness reached a maximum value of 944.63 g,and the skin toughness,flesh hardness,fracturability,and compactness also reach their maximum values respectively.When the puncture depth was 12 mm,the flesh hardness and skin toughness reached their maximums of 682.51 g and 1.82 mm,respectively.In the TPA mode,the flesh hardness of chieh-qua showed an extremely significant negative correlation with springiness,cohesiveness,and resilience(P<0.01).The fruit fracturability detected by puncture had an extremely significant positive correlation with compactness(P<0.01).[Conclusions]The evaluation method for measuring chieh-qua texture by combining TPA and the puncture mode could accurately and quantitatively reflect the differences in the flesh texture quality of chieh-qua.The optimal parameters for texture measurement of chieh-qua fruit were determined as a 15 g trigger force with 50%deformation and a 3 mm/s compression speed in TPA mode,and a 15 g trigger force with a 12 mm puncture depth in puncture mode.Puncture speed was found to have no significant effect on the texture indices of chieh-qua. 展开更多

Cyprus has an extensive record in grape production and winemaking.Grapevine is essential for the economic and environmental sustainability of the agricultural sector,as it is in other Mediterranean regions.Intensive agriculture can overuse and exhaust natural resources,including soil and water.The current study evaluated how conservation strategies,including no tillage and semi-tillage(as a variation of strip tillage),affected grapevine growth and grape quality when compared to conventional tillage application.Two cultivars were used:Chardonnay and Maratheftiko(indigenous).Soil pH decreased,and EC increased after tillage applications,in both vineyards.Tillage lowered soil N levels through mineralization,but the vineyard with Maratheftiko cultivar had higher soil N and K levels than the vineyard with Chardonnay cultivar.No tillage reduced yield in Chardonnay;however,semi-tillage enhanced yield in Maratheftiko.There were no major changes in plant physiology,even though Maratheftiko had less variation in stomatal conductance values under the various tillage practices than Chardonnay.Tillage enhanced N and K content in Chardonnay vines during flowering,and increased N in Maratheftiko.Total phenols and antioxidant status of leaves varied,with tillage stimulating them,especially at the harvest stage.Furthermore,tillage raised grape juice total soluble solids,pH,and total phenols in both cultivars,while anthocyanins and tannins content were increased in Maratheftiko under no tillage.The results of this study may aid in the development of cultivation strategies to enable viticulture to address various environmental challenges due to climate change. 展开更多

Excessive levels of Fluoride(F−)and Cadmium(Cd)in drinking groundwater may pose health risks.This study assessed the health risks associated with F−and Cd contamination in rural drinking groundwater sources in Wutai County,Shanxi Province,China,to support population health protection,water resource management,and environmental decision-making.Groundwater samples were collected and analyzed,and a Human Health Risk Model(HHRA)was applied to evaluate groundwater quality.The results showed that both contents of F−and Cd in groundwater exceeded the Class III limits of China's national groundwater quality standard(GB/T 14848—2024).Fluoride levels met the Class V threshold,with enrichment area mainly located in the east part of the study area.Cadmium levels reached Class IV,with elevated concentrations primarily observed in the western and northwestern regions.Correlation analysis revealed that F−showed weak or no correlation with other measured substances,indicating independent sources.Health risk assessment results indicated that F−poses potential health risks to rural residents,while cadmium,due to its relatively low concentrations,does not currently present a significant health risk.Among different demographic groups,the health risk levels of F−exposure followed the order:Infants>children>adult females>adult males.The findings highlight that fluoride is the primary contributor to health risks associated with groundwater consumption in the study area.Strengthened monitoring and prevention of F−contamination are urgently needed.This research provides a scientific basis for the prevention and control of fluoride pollution in groundwater and offers practical guidance for safeguarding drinking water safety in rural China. 展开更多
