The parallel FP+FI+FD controller is actually a non-linear adaptive controller whose gain changes continuously with output of the process under control. Two non-stationary processes, whose characteristics change with time, are considered for simulation study. Simulation is performed using software LabVIEW TM . The set-point tracking response of parallel FP+FI+FD is compared with conventional parallel proportional plus integral plus derivative (PID) controller, tuned with the Ziegler-Nichols (Z-N) tuning technique. Simulation results show that conventional PID controller fails to track the set-point and becomes unstable as the process changes its characteristic with time. But the parallel FP+FI+FD controller shows considerably much better set-point tracking response and does not deviate from steady state. Also, a huge spike is observed in the output of PID controller as the reference set-point and process parameters are changed, while the FP+FI+FD controller gives spike free control signal.展开更多

Most weigh feeders employed in industry are controlled by proportional and integral (PI) compensation, and the control performance is decided by the selection of parameters. To attain advanced control performance by PI control, the PI parameters are designed on the basis of generalized minimum variance control (GMVC). In this study, to achieve user-specified control performance by GMVC-based PI control, the design parameters of GMVC are automatically adjusted using a performance-adaptive method. The control performance discussed in this study consists of the variance of the control error and that of the difference in the control input. In a conventional performance-adaptive method, the variance of the control error is reduced. In this study, to reduce energy consumption and to achieve user-specified control performance, the variance of the difference in the control input is specified and the design parameter is determined. To demonstrate its effectiveness, the proposed method is applied to an actual weigh feeder.展开更多

文摘PI (proportional-integral) control algorithm is applied to control WlP (work-in-progress) in a discrete manufacturing system, where the cascade control of PI controllers is presented. It is in the frequency domain that the PI controller is designed with constraints on sensitivity options to ensure the stability and robustness of its parameters. A case is evaluated on a motorcycle engine crankcase production system, whose simulation results confirm that demand fluctuations can be compensated by PI controllers under a normal demand. PI controllers also possess low sensitivity to the distribution of production times.

文摘Pneumatic artificial muscles(PAMs) have properties similar to biological muscles, which are widely used in robotics as actuators. It is difficult to achieve high-precision position control for robotics system driven by PAMs.A 3-DOF musculoskeletal bionic leg mechanism is presented, which is driven by PAMs for quadruped robots.PAM is used to simulate the compliance of biological muscle. The kinematics of the leg swing is derived, and the foot desired trajectory is planned as the sinusoidal functions. The swing experiments of the musculoskeletal leg mechanism are conducted to analyse the extension and flexion of joints.A proportional integral derivative(PID) algorithm is presented for controlling the flexion/extension of the joint. The trajectory tracking results of joints and the PAM gas pressure are obtained.Experimental results show that the developed leg mechanism exhibits good biological properties.

文摘To measure the performance of high precision air-pressure sensors in below normal pressure,an automatic measurement instrument has been designed and implemented. It can simulate environment of low pressure from 300hPa to 1 000hPa with high accuracy by proportional-integral-derivative(PID)control quickly, and it can also generate various relative humidity by two-pressure control. The results show that this instrument can reach controlled pressure quickly. And it works well with the minimum average pressure difference, and the fluctuation is±0.02hPa at 500hPa.And it can keep in a stable status for a long time.It works well in performance testing of pressure sensors. The structure of the system is simple, takes small investment, and can be operated conveniently.
文摘Dynamic analysis of scissor hydraulic lift platform has been performed to invest/gate the key factors which determine size and shape of the platfolan. By using MATLAB, the position of hydraulic cylinder has been optimized to reduce jacking force of piston and the whole system. Thus structure deformation decreases which is beneficial to control accuracy. Additionally, a new proportion integration differentiation (PID) control mode based on BP neural network has been developed to improve the stability and accuracy for the pasitio^L control in this system. Compared with existing PID tuning meth~~ls and fuzzy self-adjusted PID controllers, the proposed back propagation (BP) based PID controller can achieve better performance for a wide range of complex processes and realize self-tuning of parameters. It was confirmed that the performance of the lift platform regarding the force variation and position accuracy was greatly enhanced by optimizing of the system both in structure and control. Considerable economic benefit can also be achieved thrangh the application of this intelligent PID system.
文摘This paper discusses a design method for the control system of a weigh feeder that supplies powder and granular material at a constant rate. To demonstrate its effectiveness, the proposed method is applied to an actual weigh feeder.
文摘A boiler drum BDT921 that is installed in the Control Laboratory, Department of Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, Faculty of Electric and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) is being used as a model plant to achieve the digital control system since its analog. Implementing a digital system to boiler quite a though work. This paper covers analysis from the experiment done to match with digital design that will be implemented to the real system. The digital control design will come up with the mathematical model and will be analyzed with MATLAB and SIMULINK software named as "Discrete Analysis ofBDT921 Simulation". A proportional integral and derivative (PID) controller is being chosen as the control element in discrete form as the real system is using the same control element. The output responses behave as the second order system with a bit difference in rise times and peak times compared with data obtained from experiment. With regarding to the analysis done, the digital control can be implemented and for further viewing, to be controlled digitally with computer in the control room.
