Posterior Cramer-Rao lower bounds for multitarget bearings-only tracking

Usually, only the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) of single target is taken into consideration in the state estimate of passive tracking systems. As for the case of multitarget, there are few works done due to its complexity. The recursion formula of the posterior Cramer-Rao lower bound (PCRLB) in multitarget bearings-only tracking with the three kinds of data association is presented. Meanwhile, computer simulation is carried out for data association. The final result shows that the accuracy probability of data association has an important impact on the PCRLB. 展开更多

Under the background of passive tracking where the target's state can be seen as a time-varying random parameter, PCRB of the state estimate error is analyzed in this paper, and the relation between PCRB and varied condition is also fully in- vestigated using different simulation examples. Since the features of low energy consumption and limited power supply are very impor- tant for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), the problems of distributed state estimation with quan- tized innovations are investigated in this paper. In the first place, the assumptions of prior and posterior probability density function (PDF) with quantized innovations in the previous papers are analyzed. After that, an innovative Gaussian mixture estimator is proposed. On this basis, this paper presents a Gaussian mixture state estimation algorithm based on quantized innovations for WSNs. In order to evaluate and compare the performance of this kind of state estimation algo- rithms for WSNs, the posterior Cram6r-Rao lower bound (CRLB) with quantized innovations is put forward. Performance analysis and simulations show that the proposed Gaussian mixture state estimation algorithm is efficient than the others under the same number of quantization levels and the performance of these algorithms can be benchmarked by the theoretical lower bound. 展开更多

Firstly, three architectures of signal processing in the DCAR are introduced. Secondly, the closed-form Cramer-Rao bound (CRB) of the CPP estimation is derived and compared. Then, the closed-form CRB is verified by numerical simulations. First, the general form of Cramer-Rao bound (CRB) for joint estimation of target location and velocity is derived for coherent multiple input multiple output (MIMO) radars. To gain some insight into the behavior of the CRB, the CRB with a set of given orthogonal waveforms is studied as a specific case. Second, a maximum likelihood (ML) estimation algorithm is proposed. The mean square error (MSE) of the ML estimation of target location and velocity is obtained by Monte Carlo simulation and it approaches CRB in the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) region. 展开更多

This spread will make the parameters estimation accuracy degrade. The goal of this paper is to analytically assess this degradation when Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) and Doppler shift exist jointly. Then the finite-sample Cramer-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) is derived and close-form asymptotical expression is given for large-sample CRLB. These expressions give insights into the performance room for frequency estimation. Also the variance of Doppler shift estimator is simulated to illustrate the theoretical results. 展开更多

Time-delay and Doppler shift estimation is a basic task for pulse-Doppler radar processing. For low-rate sampling of echo signals, several kinds of compressive sampling(CS) pulse-Doppler(CSPD) radar are developed with different analog-to-information conversion(AIC) systems. However, a unified metric is absent to evaluate their parameter estimation performance. Towards this end, this paper derives the deterministic Cramer-Rao bound(CRB)for the joint delay-Doppler estimation of CSPD radar to quantitatively analyze the estimate performance. Theoretical results reveal that the CRBs of both time-delays and Doppler shifts are inversely proportional to the received target signal-to-noise ratio(SNR), the number of transmitted pulses and the sampling rate of AIC systems. The main difference is that the CRB of Doppler shifts also lies on the coherent processing interval. Numerical experiments validate these theoretical results. They also show that the structure of the AIC systems has weak influence on the CRBs, which implies that the AIC structures can be flexibly selected for the implementation of CSPD radar. 展开更多

Simplified and close form expressions of CRB are obtained through complicated derivation, and then are applied to evaluate the performance of the cyclic estimator.The results are accurate enough and serve well as benchmark for evaluating the performance of parameter estimation method. To achieve a high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) while maintaining moderate radar antenna, a target-based calibration manner is available to coherently combine multiple radars. The key to this calibration manner is to estimate coherence parameters(CPs), i.e., time and phase calibration values in transmission and reception estimation, by separating the target returns into monostatic and bistatic echoes. However, CPs estimations exist uncertainties, which will affect the performance gain after multiradar coherent combination. The principle of coherently combining multiple radars is elaborated and the signal probability model for CPs estimation is established. On this basis, CPs Cramer-Rao bound(CRB) is derived in the closed-form, according to which the non-tight and tight upper bounds for multiple radars coherent combination performance gain are derived in the closed-form and via Monte Carlo(MC) simulations, respectively. Simulations validate the correctness of the derived CRB and gain bounds. 展开更多

针对弹道导弹集群攻击导致的防御系统跟踪容量不足、抗干扰能力弱等问题,传统组网雷达资源管理方法存在动态适配性差、多频段协同缺失等缺陷,亟需突破高密度目标环境下的实时资源优化瓶颈。本文提出基于后验克拉美罗下界(PCRLB)的联合任... 针对弹道导弹集群攻击导致的防御系统跟踪容量不足、抗干扰能力弱等问题,传统组网雷达资源管理方法存在动态适配性差、多频段协同缺失等缺陷,亟需突破高密度目标环境下的实时资源优化瓶颈。本文提出基于后验克拉美罗下界(PCRLB)的联合任务-资源优化框架,构建轻量化PCRLB预测模型,通过蒙特卡洛近似降低计算复杂度;设计二阶分解算法,将混合整数非线性规划(MINLP)问题解耦为离散雷达-目标指派与连续驻留时间分配两阶段;开发多频段抗干扰协同机制,联合优化阵列参数与频偏。仿真表明,在75个目标饱和攻击场景下,跟踪位置误差较传统方法降低了42.3%,均方根误差(RMSE)接近PCRLB理论下界;资源分配算法耗时仅18.7 ms,满足毫秒级实时性需求;多频段协同使信噪比提升15 dB,虚警率下降了60%。所提框架显著提升了密集目标跟踪精度与资源利用效率,为弹道导弹防御系统抗饱和、抗干扰提供理论与技术支撑。 展开更多

Electronic reconnaissance units commonly utilize an interferometer direction-finding system to measure the incoming direction of radar radiation signals.This approach enables the accurate determination of threat source locations,which is essential for devising route plans oriented toward flight path generation.When a frequency diverse array(FDA)system is adopted by ground radars,errors are introduced into the angle measurements of the passive direction finding system.To address this issue,this study starts with FDA model establishment and equiphasic surface characteristics analysis and analyzes the principles of FDA deception in identifying one-dimensional single-baseline interferometer directions.Additionally,the Cramer-Rao bounds of the signal carrier frequency estimation error and angle measurement error during the interferometer’s direction finding process are considered.The simulation results verify that the one-dimensional single-baseline interferometer direction finding system can be deceived by the FDA radar,and the FDA with a sine frequency offset exhibits the optimum deception effect. 展开更多

This paper delves into the problem of optimal placement conditions for a group of agents collaboratively localizing a target using range-only or bearing-only measurements.The challenge in this study stems from the uncertainty associated with the positions of the agents,which may experience drift or disturbances during the target localization process.Initially,we derive the Cramer-Rao lower bound(CRLB)of the target position as the primary analytical metric.Subsequently,we establish the necessary and sufficient conditions for the optimal placement of agents.Based on these conditions,we analyze the maximal allowable agent position error for an expected mean squared error(MSE),providing valuable guidance for the selection of agent positioning sensors.The analytical findings are further validated through simulation experiments. 展开更多

With the rapid development of commercial communications,the research on Radar-Communication Coexistence(RCC)systems is becoming a hot spot.The resource allocation techniques play a crucial role in the RCC systems.A performance-driven Joint Radar-target and Communication-user Assignment,along with Power and Subchannel Allocation(JRCAPSA)strategy,is proposed for an RCC network.The optimization model aims to minimize the sum of weighted Bayesian Cramer-Rao Lower Bounds(BCRLBs)of target state estimates for radar purpose.This is subject to constraints such as the Communication Data Rate(CDR)for communication purpose,the total power budget in each RCC system,assignment relationships,and the number of available subchannels.Considering that such a problem falls into the realm of Mixed Integer Programming(MIP),a Three-stage Iteratively Augment-based Optimization Method(TIAOM)is developed.The Communication-User Assignment(CUA),Communication Subchannel Allocation(SCA),and Radar-Target Assignment(RTA)feasible solution domains are iteratively expanded based on their importance,leading to the efficient acquisition of a suboptimal solution.Simulation results show the outperformance of the proposed JRCAPSA strategy,compared to the other benchmarks and the OPTI toolbox.The results also imply that the Bayesian Cramer-Rao Lower Bound(BCRLB)is a more stringent optimization metric for the achieved Mean Square Error(MSE),compared to Mutual Information(MI)and Signal-to-Interference-Noise Ratio(SINR). 展开更多

Exact estimation of space object attitude parameters is a great challenge.The effectiveness of conventional attitude estimation approaches based on target sizes suffers a significant reduction when occlusion exists.This paper proposes an innovative approach to estimate the attitude parameters for space objects based on inverse synthetic aperture radar(ISAR)image sequences.The formulation for nonlinear size constraints(NSC)is developed by accounting for the characteristics of object size variation in ISAR image sequences.The multi-start framework for global optimization and the Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno(BFGS)based quasi-Newton iterative method are combined with and used for more accurate estimation of space object’s attitude parameters.Furthermore,the Cramer-Rao lower bound(CRLB)of attitude parameter estimates is derived.Comparative experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method. 展开更多

位置信息是物体的基本属性之一.随着无线传感器网络(wireless sensor network,WSN)的蓬勃发展,传感器网络中节点位置信息的获取变得尤为重要.超宽带(ultra-wideband,UWB)和惯性测量单元(inertial measurement units,IMU)以其高定位精度,... 位置信息是物体的基本属性之一.随着无线传感器网络(wireless sensor network,WSN)的蓬勃发展,传感器网络中节点位置信息的获取变得尤为重要.超宽带(ultra-wideband,UWB)和惯性测量单元(inertial measurement units,IMU)以其高定位精度,在WSN中得到了广泛应用.UWB精度高,但容易受多径效应和节点间的相对几何位置关系影响.IMU惯性测量单元能够提供连续的惯性信息,但累积误差问题难以解决.基于IMU和UWB结合的融合定位方法,能够在提高定位精度的同时补偿UWB的多径效应影响和IMU的误差累积问题.因此,提出一种新的基于UWB和IMU的融合定位方法,实现传感网中目标节点的高精度位置追踪,并通过计算克拉美罗下限(Cramer-Rao lower bound,CRLB)表征融合定位方法的空间定位性能验证其在解决多径和几何拓扑问题上的有效性,通过计算后验克拉美罗下限(posterior Cramer-Rao lower bound,PCRLB)表征融合定位方法的时间定位性能验证其在累积误差纠正上的有效性,为基于UWB和IMU融合定位算法的设计和仿真提供理论支持.实验结果表明:融合定位方法具有更好的时空定位性能,更能接近实际应用的理论精度下限. 展开更多

实时可靠的导航定位是无线传感器网络的关键技术。在实际的应用环境中,定位系统误差模型一般是非线性非高斯的,传统的卡尔曼滤波算法无法提供长时间高精度的定位服务。现有研究中,粒子滤波可以处理复杂的系统模型和测量模型,但在实际应... 实时可靠的导航定位是无线传感器网络的关键技术。在实际的应用环境中,定位系统误差模型一般是非线性非高斯的,传统的卡尔曼滤波算法无法提供长时间高精度的定位服务。现有研究中,粒子滤波可以处理复杂的系统模型和测量模型,但在实际应用中往往面临粒子退化和贫化问题。针对这一问题,提出了一种基于误差椭圆重采样的粒子滤波算法,用于无线传感器网络的目标定位跟踪问题。为提高粒子滤波算法在状态估计中的有效精度,在重采样过程中根据粒子的误差协方差矩阵建立不同置信水平的误差椭圆,按照粒子的几何位置进行分层,进而对不同层级的粒子进行筛选与优化,并对比计算后验克拉美罗下界性能验证该方法在累积误差优化中的有效性。实验结果表明,误差椭圆重采样粒子滤波算法精度达到1.05 m,有效改善了粒子退化和贫化问题。 展开更多
