A specific training sequence is first embedded in each data packet. Many monographs point out that differential encoding and decoding is necessary for ef- fectual information transmission against phase ambiguity while seldom discuss the reason why phase ambiguity will emerge inevitabl...Many monographs point out that differential encoding and decoding is necessary for ef- fectual information transmission against phase ambiguity while seldom discuss the reason why phase ambiguity will emerge inevitably.Available algorithms are specially designed for certain modulation scheme;these algorithms cannot satisfy the requirement of soft-defined radio,which perhaps demands a uniform algorithm for different modulations.This paper proposes a new opinion on phase ambiguity from the view of probability.This opinion believes that modulating symbol sequence can affect,at optimum sampling epoch,the modulated waveform as oscillating carrier has done,and so the stochastic sequence leads to phase ambiguity.Based on a general signal model,this paper also puts forward a novel universal algorithm,which is suitable for different signals,even some new ones,by configuring several parameters.展开更多
The microstructure of polymer electrolyte membranes plays a key role in ion conductivity and water transport.Herein,fluorinated poly(aryl ether)s with tetra-alkylsulfonate side chains(SFPAEs)have been successfully syn...The microstructure of polymer electrolyte membranes plays a key role in ion conductivity and water transport.Herein,fluorinated poly(aryl ether)s with tetra-alkylsulfonate side chains(SFPAEs)have been successfully synthesized from the copolymerization of a newly developed tetra-allyl-containing bisphenol(TABP)monomer,followed by the thiol-ene addition with sodium 3-mercapto-1-propanesulfonate to attach the ionic groups at the end of the flexible chains.Being the first of its kind,the densely distributed and lengthy alkylsulfonate group possesses the benefit of ease to self-assemble into hydrophilic domains during membrane preparation via solution casting.Indeed,the TEM characterizations revealed that distinct hydrophilic channels of 1-2 nm width had been formed,much larger than those of a home-made control sample where only di-alkylsulfonate side chains were attached.The SFPAE-4-45 with an IECw of 2.0 mmol g^-1 exhibited an enhanced proton conductivity of 143.7 m S cm^-1 at room temperature,which was superior to that of Nafion 212(91.0 m S cm^-1).Furthermore,the oxidative stabilities of SFPAEs were significantly higher than those of non-fluorinated analogs in literature.This study offered a new route to engineering the pendent structure of ionomers for well-defined microscopic morphologies.展开更多

The key components of the scheme are grating pair, Fourier transformation lens, phase filter etc. The results of design and calculation are shown that the spreading time of input pulse can be up to nanosecond duration and the phase filter can provide pseudo noise bursts in time domain. The requirements for Laser and optical detection equipment in the scheme are reduced. So the new scheme proposed by us is effective for OCDMA en /de coding of coherent ultra short pulses.展开更多

Based on the dual-metric,a Chase-type soft decoding algorithm,which is called erased-Chase algorithm,is developed for Reed-Solomon (RS) coded MPSK schemes. The proposed algorithm treats the unre-liable symbols with small maximum SEDI as erasures,and tests the non-erased unreliable symbols with small minimum SEDI as the Chase-2 algorithm does. By introducing optimality test into the decoding procedure,much more reduction in the decoding complexity can be achieved. Simulation results of the RS(63,42,22)-coded 8-PSK scheme over a Rayleigh fading channel show that the proposed algorithm provides a very efficient tradeoff between the decoding complexity and the error performance. Finally,an adaptive scheme for the number of erasures is introduced into the decoding algorithm.展开更多
