Optical phase-gradient metasurfaces have garnered significant attention for enabling flexible light manipulation,with applications across diverse domains.In this work,we will demonstrate that the metasurfaces with phase gradient modulation can be used to achieve illusion optics,featuring the advantages of simple geometric structure and feasible implementation compared with the well-known transformation optics method.The underlying mechanism is the anomalous diffraction law caused by the phase gradient,which provides a theoretical basis for freely manipulating the propagation path of light.By considering a specific example,we will demonstrate that the phase gradient can transform spatial coordinates in real space into illusion space,thereby converting a plane in real space into a curved surface structure in illusion space to achieve the illusion effect.This approach provides a viable alternative to transformation optics for designing illusion devices. 展开更多

[Background]High harmonic cavities are widely used in electron storage rings to lengthen thebunch,lower the bunch peak current,thereby reducing the IBS effect,enhancing the Touschek lifetime,as well asproviding Landau damping,which is particularly important for storage rings operating with ultra-low emittance or atlow beam energy.[Purpose]To further increase the bunch length without additional hardware costs,the phasemodulation in a dual-RF system is considered.[Methods]In this paper,turn-by-turn simulations incorporating randomsynchrotron radiation excitation are conducted,and a brief analysis is presented to explain the bunch lengtheningmechanism.[Results]Simulation results reveal that the peak current can be further reduced,thereby mitigating IBSeffects and enhancing the Touschek lifetime.Although the energy spread increases,which tends to reduce thebrightness of higher-harmonic radiation from the undulator,the brightness of the fundamental harmonic can,in fact,beimproved. 展开更多

A dual-phase synergistic enhancement method was adopted to strengthen the Al-Mn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy fabricated by laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)by leveraging the unique advantages of Er and TiB_(2).Spherical powders of 0.5wt%Er-1wt%TiB_(2)/Al-Mn-Mg-Sc-Zr nanocomposite were prepared using vacuum homogenization technique,and the density of samples prepared through the LPBF process reached 99.8%.The strengthening and toughening mechanisms of Er-TiB_(2)were investigated.The results show that Al_(3)Er diffraction peaks are detected by X-ray diffraction analysis,and texture strength decreases according to electron backscatter diffraction results.The added Er and TiB_(2)nano-reinforcing phases act as heterogeneous nucleation sites during the LPBF forming process,hindering grain growth and effectively refining the grains.After incorporating the Er-TiB_(2)dual-phase nano-reinforcing phases,the tensile strength and elongation at break of the LPBF-deposited samples reach 550 MPa and 18.7%,which are 13.4%and 26.4%higher than those of the matrix material,respectively. 展开更多

目的:探讨头颈部CT血管造影(CTA)联合PHASES评分对颅内动脉瘤破裂导致动脉瘤性蛛网膜下腔出血(aSAH)预后的价值。方法:回顾性分析2022年1月—2024年10月在亳州市中医院接受诊疗的67例aSAH患者病例资料。根据格拉斯哥预后评分,将患者分... 目的:探讨头颈部CT血管造影(CTA)联合PHASES评分对颅内动脉瘤破裂导致动脉瘤性蛛网膜下腔出血(aSAH)预后的价值。方法:回顾性分析2022年1月—2024年10月在亳州市中医院接受诊疗的67例aSAH患者病例资料。根据格拉斯哥预后评分,将患者分为预后良好组(n=37)和预后不良组(n=30)。采用单因素及多因素Logistic回归分析比较组间临床、影像及PHASES评分,筛选aSAH患者预后的独立预测因素并构建回归模型。绘制受试者工作特征(ROC)曲线,评估各单一独立预测因素及回归模型预测aSAH患者预后的效能。结果:预后不良组患者Hunt-Hess分级Ⅳ~Ⅴ级的占比、AR值、SR值、入射夹角和PHASES评分均高于预后良好组,发病至治疗时间>3 d的占比高于预后良好组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。多因素Logistic回归分析结果显示,Hunt-Hess分级、入射夹角和PHASES评分为aSAH患者不良结局的影响因素(P<0.05),其曲线下面积(AUC)分别为0.613、0.658、0.761;以三者联合构建的回归模型预测患者预后的诊断灵敏度为0.733,特异度为0.919,AUC为0.898。结论:CTA联合PHASES评分能够有效提升对aSAH患者预后的预测效能,有助于临床进行预后判断。 展开更多

Lubricant infused surface(LIS)always displays efficient anti-fouling performance.However,the inherent liquid properties of infused lubricants often lead to their rapid depletion in harsh conditions such as water flushing,thereby reducing the antifouling capability of LIS.Herein,we reported a thermal-responsive lubricant infused surface(TLIS)based on composite phase change materials(CPCMs),exhibiting durable and efficient anti-scaling performance.During multicycle scalingdescaling test,the anti-scaling efficiencies of TLIS based on paraffin and vaseline can be increased to 91.4%±0.5% for first cycle and 85.3%±3.3% for sixth cycle.The paraffin acts as solid scaffolds for structural stability while the vaseline acts as liquid lubricants for anti-scaling enhancement.The universality of this surface can be revealed by suppressing various scales(e.g.,CaCO_(3),CaSO_(4),CaC_(2)O_(4),and MgCO_(3))and varying CPCMs types(e.g.,n-alkanes,ionic liquids,and fatty acids).Therefore,this study presents a promising strategy that enhances the durability of anti-scaling capability and potentially applys in heat exchange systems. 展开更多

Efficient thermal management and electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding are critical challenges for the reliable operation of portable electronic devices.Herein,we report the design and fabrication of multifunctional layered composite phase change materials(CPCMs)comprising alternating cellulose nanofiber/phase change capsule/sodium alginate(CNF/PCC/SA)layers and MXene/sodium alginate(MXene/SA)layers.The strong interfacial adhesion and controlled multilayer architecture enable the CPCM to achieve high electrical conductivity(up to 279.8 S/cm)and excellent EMI shielding effectiveness(up to 57.6 dB in the X-band).The layered structure enhances electromagnetic wave attenuation via multiple internal reflections and polarization losses,outperforming homogeneous composites.Moreover,the CPCMs exhibit superior light absorption(maximum nearly 100% for the optimized 5-layer structure)and efficient light-to-thermal conversion,achieving rapid temperature increases and uniform heat distribution under light irradiation.Additionally,the phase change capsules enable latent heat storage,ensuring thermal buffering and prolonged temperature regulation.This work provides novel insights into the rational design of multifunctional composites integrating wireless thermal management and EMI shielding,with promising applications in wearable electronics and smart thermal regulation. 展开更多

The water-quenched(WQ)2195 Al−Li alloy was subjected to stretching at different temperatures,from room temperature(RT)to−196℃(CT),to investigate the effect of cryogenic deformation on the aging precipitation behaviors and mechanical properties.The precipitation kinetics of the T1 phase and the microstructures in peak aging state were investigated through the differential scanning calorimetric(DSC)tests and electron microscopy observation.The results show that−196℃deformation produces a high dislocation density,which promotes the precipitation of the T1 phase and refines its sizes significantly.In addition,the grain boundary precipitates(GBPs)of−196℃-stretched samples are suppressed considerably due to the high dislocation density in the grain interiors,which increases the ductility.In comparison,the strength remains nearly constant.Thus,it is indicated that cryogenic forming has the potential to provide the shape and property control for the manufacture of critical components of aluminum alloys. 展开更多

Beryllium-containing sludge(BCS)is a typical hazardous waste from Be smelting,which can cause serious harm to ecology and human health by releasing harmful Be if it is stored long-term in environment.Nonetheless,the occurrence of Be in BCS is unclear,which seriously hinders the development of pollution control technologies.In order to enhance the understanding of BCS,the occurrence of Be and the microscale interactions with coexisting phases were investigated for the first time.It was found that CaSO_(4)·2H_(2)O and amorphous SiO_(2) are the primary phases of BCS.The simulated experiments of purified materials showed that Be interacted with CaSO_(4)·2H_(2)O and amorphous SiO_(2).Be can enter into the lattice of CaSO_(4)·2H_(2)O mainly as free Be2+.Amorphous SiO_(2) can adsorb Be2+particularly at a pH range of 3–5.The dissolution behavior experiment of BCS shows that about 52%of the Be is readily extracted under acidic conditions,which refers to the Be of independent occurrence.In contrast,the remaining 48%of Be can be extracted only after the CaSO_(4)·2H_(2)O has completely dissolved.Hence,CaSO_(4)·2H_(2)O is identified as the key occurrence phase which determines the highly efficient dissolution of Be.As a result,this study enhances the understanding of BCS and lays the foundation for the development of Be separation technologies. 展开更多

Optical phase transfer via fiber optics is the most effective method for optical frequency standard comparison on the scale below thousands of kilometers.However,the monotonic phase discrimination range of conventional optical phase-locked loops is limited,and link delays restrict the control bandwidth,which makes it a challenge to achieve a continuously reliable optical link.This paper presents an event-timing-based phase detection method that overcomes the monotonic phase discrimination range limitation of conventional phase-locked loops through dual-edge timestamp recording,achieving an optical phase measurement resolution on the order of 10 attoseconds.With such a technique,we established a 7-segment-cascaded optical link over 1402km of commercial fiber while sharing dense wavelength division multiplexing(DWDM)channels with live telecom traffic.The system maintained continuous operation for 11.7 days without phase cycle slips despite encountering 15 km aerial fiber noise up to 21000 rad^(2)·Hz^(−1)·km^(−1)at 1 Hz.Relative instabilities of the link are 3.7×10^(−15)at 1 s and 3.9×10^(−20)at 100000 s. 展开更多

The phase equilibria relationship of the system RbCl-PEG6000-H2O were investigated at temperatures of 288.2,298.2,and 308.2 K,the compositions of solid-liquid equilibria(SLE)and liquid-liquid equilibria(LLE)were determined.The complete phase diagrams,binodal curve diagrams,and tie-line diagrams were all plotted.Results show that both solid-liquid equilibria and liquid-liquid equilibria relationships at each studied temperature.The complete phase diagrams at 288.2 K,298.2 K and 308.2 K consist of six phase regions:unsaturated liquid region(L),two saturated solutions with one solid phase of RbCl(L_S),one saturated liquid phase with two solid phases of PEG6000 and RbCl(2S+L),an aqueous two-phase region(2L),and a region with two liquids and one solid phase of RbCl(2L_S).With the increase in temperature,the layering ability of the aqueous two-phase system increases,and both regions(2L)and(2L_S)increase.The binodal curves were fitted using the nonlinear equations proposed by Mistry,Hu,and Jayapal.Additionally,the tie-line data were correlated with the Othmer-Tobias,Bancroft,Hand,and Bachman equations.The liquid-liquid equilibria at 288.2 K,298.2 K and 308.2 K were calculated using the NRTL model.The findings confirm that the experimental and calculated values are in close agreement,demonstrating the model’s effectiveness in representing the system’s behavior. 展开更多

The availability of a tremendous amount of seismic data demands seismological researchers to analyze seismic phases efficiently.Recently,deep learning algorithms exhibit a powerful capability of detecting and picking on P-and S-wave phases.However,it remains a challenge to effeciently process enormous teleseismic phases,which are crucial to probe Earth’s interior structures and their dynamics.In this study,we propose a scheme to detect and pick teleseismic phases,such as seismic phase that reflects off the core-mantle boundary(i.e.,PcP)and that reflects off the inner-core boundary(i.e.,PKiKP),from a seismic dataset in Japan.The scheme consists of three steps:1)latent phase traces are truncated from the whole seismogram with theoretical arrival times;2)latent phases are recognized and evaluated by convolutional neural network(CNN)models;3)arrivals of good or fair phase are picked with another CNN models.The testing detection result on 7386 seismograms shows that the scheme recognizes 92.15%and 94.13%of PcP and PKiKP phases.The testing picking result has a mean absolute error of 0.0742 s and 0.0636 s for the PcP and PKiKP phases,respectively.These seismograms were processed in just 5 min for phase detection and picking,demonstrating the efficiency of the proposed scheme in automatic teleseismic phase analysis. 展开更多

Active matter is a non-equilibrium condensed system consisting of self-propelled particles capable of converting stored or ambient energy into collective motion.Typical active matter systems include cytoskeleton biopolymers,swimming bacteria,artificial swimmers,and animal herds.In contrast to wet active matter,dry active matter is an active system characterized by the absence of significant hydrodynamic interactions and conserved momentum.In dry active matter,the role of surrounding fluids is providing viscous friction at low Reynolds numbers and can be neglected at high Reynolds numbers.This review offers a comprehensive overview of recent experimental,computational,and theoretical advances in understanding phase transitions and critical phenomena in dry aligning active matter,including polar particles,self-propelled rods,active nematics,and their chiral counterparts.Various ways of determining phase transition points as well as non-equilibrium phenomena,such as collective motion,cluster formation,and creation and annihilation of topological defects are reviewed. 展开更多

A phase-field model integrated with the thermodynamic databases was constructed to investigate the impact of Ni content on the precipitation kinetics and phase transformation of the Cu-rich phase in Fe-Cu-Ni alloy at 773 K.The results demonstrated that the Cu core-Ni shell structures form via the decomposition of Cu-Ni co-clusters,which is consistent with previous experimental results.As the Ni content increases,both the volume fraction and number density of Cu-rich precipitates increase,while their size decreases.With the increase in Ni content,the transformation from a Cu to 9R Cu is accelerated,which is the opposite to the result of increasing Mn content.Magnetic energy can increase the nucleation rate of the Cu-rich phase,but it does not affect the phase transformation driving force required for its crystal structure transformation. 展开更多

As an advanced device for observing atmospheric winds,the spaceborne Doppler Asymmetric Spatial Heterodyne(DASH)interferometer also encounters challenges associated with phase distortion,par-ticularly in limb sounding scenarios.This paper discusses interferogram modeling and phase distortion cor-rection techniques for spaceborne DASH interferometers.The modeling of phase distortion interferograms with and without Doppler shift for limb observation was conducted,and the effectiveness of the analytical expression was verified through numerical simulation.The simulation results indicate that errors propagate layer by layer while using the onion-peeling inversion algorithm to handle phase-distorted interferograms.In contrast,the phase distortion correction algorithm can achieve effective correction.This phase correction method can be successfully applied to correct phase distortions in the interferograms of the spaceborne DASH interferometer,providing a feasible solution to enhance its measurement accuracy. 展开更多

The grain boundary diffusion process(GBDP)has proven to be an effective method for enhancing the coercivity of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets.However,the limited diffusion depth and thicker shell struc-ture have impeded the further development of magnetic properties.Currently,the primary debates re-garding the mechanism of GBDP with Tb revolve around the dissolution-solidification mechanism and the atomic substitution mechanism.To clarify this mechanism,the microstructure evolution of sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets during the heating process of GBDP has been systematically studied by quenching at different tem peratures.In this study,it was found that the formation of TbFe_(2) phase is related to the dis-solution of _(2)Fe_(14)B grains during GBDP with Tb.The theory of mixing heat and phase separation further confirms that the Nd_(2)Fe_(14)B phase dissolves to form a mixed phase of Nd and TbFe_(2),which then solidifies into the(Nd,Tb)_(2)Fe_(14)B phase.Based on the discovery of the TbFe_(2) phase,the dissolution-solidification mechanism is considered the primary mechanism for GBDP.This is supported by the elemental content of the two typical core-shell structures observed. 展开更多

By utilizing phase field method combined with analysis on free energy and interatomic potentials, pre-precipitation phase formation and transformation process of Ni0.75Al0.05Fe0.2 alloy in early precipitation stage during the ageing process under 1 000 K were studied. And free energy, microstructures, compositions and volume fractions of pre-precipitation phase and equilibrium phase were analyzed. The simulation results indicate that nonstoichiometric Llo pre-precipitation phase formed first, and then would gradually transform into L12 equilibrium phase. It is discovered that the phase transformation process was closely related to free energy and interatomic potentials. Additionally, it is revealed that free energy of Llo pre-precipitation phase was higher and interatomic potential was smaller than that of L12 equilibrium phase. Therefore, it is concluded that Llo phase was unstable, and phase transformation would occur to L12 which was more stable. 展开更多

Organic ferroelastics with metal free features and intrinsically light weight are highly desirable for future applications in flexible,smart and biocompatible devices.However,organoferroelastics with plastic phase transition have rarely been reported yet.Herein,we discovered ferroelasticity in a pair of organic enantiomers,(1S and/or 1R)-2,10-camphorsultam(S-and R-CPS),which undergoes a high-T_(c)plastic phase transition.Both large entropies change of∼45 J mol^(-1)K^(-1)and evidently ductile deformation process confirm the plastic phase feature.Strip-like ferroelastic domain patterns and bidirectional domain movements have been observed via polarized light microscopy and nanoindentation technique,respectively.This work highlights the discovery of organic ferroelastic combining the features of enantiomers and plastic phase transition,which contributes insights into exploration of organic multifunctional materials. 展开更多

TiAl alloys with the(α2+γ)lamellar structure are highly valued for their excellent high-temperature strength and creep resistance.Understanding the formation mechanism of the lamellar structure is crucial for tuning the microstructure and properties.This work investigates the formation of lamellar structure in Ti-48AI-7Nb-2.5V-1Cr alloy,revealing the presence of hcp-based long-period superstructure(hcp-LPS)as a metastable phase during lamellar formation.The identification of hcp-LPS demonstrates that the necessary solute enrichment for the formation ofγlamellae occurs on the hexagonalαmatrix,implying that phase separation ofα→Al-richαlamellae+Al-depletedαlamellae is the first step of lamellar formation.Once phase separation is completed,all subsequent phase transitions occur within the Al-richαlamellae.Additionally,the formation of twin lamellae is further discussed.The formation of the twin lamellae occurs sequentially.Pre-existing lamella promotes the formation of later lamella by inducing so-lute enrichment in its surrounding region,and then the successive slip of Shockley partial dislocations with opposite Burgers vectors ensures special stacking of later lamellae.These findings not only con-tribute to the fundamental understanding of spinodal mechanisms in hexagonal crystals,but also provide novel insights into the formation of twin lamellae. 展开更多
