Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a pressing global health problem and is the sixth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide.Despite continuous advances in treatment modalities,the 5-...Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a pressing global health problem and is the sixth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide.Despite continuous advances in treatment modalities,the 5-year survival rate is low with a high propensity for recurrence and metastasis1.This clinical challenge in treating HCC is largely attributed to the heterogeneity and intrinsic therapy resistance of cancer stem cells(CSCs),which are a subpopulation of cells with self-renewal capability and multidirectional differentiation potential to induce tumorigenicity2.The behavior and maintenance of CSCs are not autonomous but critically dependent on the complex bidirectional crosstalk between CSCs and the tumor immune microenvironment(TIME)1.In this review we first summarize the recent progress in characterizing CSCs and the interactions between CSCs and the TIME in HCC.Next,we discuss the emerging therapeutic strategies targeting CSC populations with the ongoing challenges.Finally,we give our perspectives on the future directions in HCC CSC research.展开更多

This paper reviews the current literature on the relationship between air pollution and food security from the perspective of food system. It highlights that agricultural emissions which substantially contribute to air pollution could happen at every stage along the food supply chain. Meanwhile, air pollution can not only affect plant growth and animal health but also shift market equilibrium of both agro-inputs and outputs in the food supply chain and thereby affect food security indirectly. Furthermore, this study evaluates the effects of agricultural policy and energy policy on food security and air pollution, respectively, and provides an overview of potential policy instruments to reduce air pollution while ensuring food security. Six DOTS providing centres were identified for the study and in each centre, three respondents were selected based on their profession, the Medical Officer, the Pharmacist and the Laboratory Technician totaling 18. The officers were interviewed for the purpose of the research. Semi structured Interviews were conducted in this research as a means of obtaining Health workers perspective. The Interview which was conducted in their respective work station was open ended and all questions are same for all respondents. During the course of the study, all respondents agreed that the sources of drugs supply to their respective centres was the Kaduna State Tuberculosis and leprosy control Program office from the state capital and that drugs are been supplied quarterly and are adequate with slight interruption due to Logistic while for Laboratory services the respondents were of the view that there is the need to improve on it as there are cases of shortage of reagents and erratic supply of Electricity for effective Laboratory functioning.展开更多

Many developing and underdeveloped countries have garnered little attention in rural studies and have even more complicated rural development problems.To clarify the intellectual contribution of rural studies and to integrate research into practice, in this study,we conducted a bibliometric analysis of the last 10 years of rural studies from a geographical perspective by comparing and integrating other related studies. CiteSpace was used to analyze the leading journals, keyword frequency and evolution, research hotspots, and research trends of 3530 articles. Our findings include four sections presented as main contents in details. In the end, we propose at least 10 elements to the rural geography framework based on the viewpoints of predecessors and future requirements.展开更多

Using a multi-systems life course (MSLC) perspective, this paper provides a conceptual explanation of the lived experience of college students by offering a better understanding of the unique challenges faced by this population. The important atmospheric forms are elemental Hg (Hg(0)), inorganic gas phase Hg (HgH gs ), and inorganic particulate Hg(HgIIp). Each form has different behavior depending on its chemical and physical properties. Generally, scientists have found with trace metal clean sampling and analytical techniques, that background Hg levels are 1—2 ng/m\+3 in air, 0.1—2 ng/L in surface waters, 5—25 ng/L in rainwater, and less than 0.1 μg/g in sediments remote from natural Hg minerals and wastewater sources. Values in excess of these concentrations generally indicate local anthropogenic influences or contaminated samples. Broad scale estimates of Hg inputs to the atmosphere suggest that annual anthropogenic fluxes to the atmosphere as Hg(0) are about 40 percent of the total global cycle, oceanic evasion is about 40 percent, and (by difference) the remaining input to the global cycle (20 percent) is evasion from terrestrial sources, largely via soils and vegetation. This paper summarizes recent data that will constrain estimates from these sources. For example, terrestrial sources could approach 40 percent and annual anthropogenic inputs be correspondingly less. Furthermore, a historic perspective is needed because Hg has cycled atmospherically over geologic time. In addition to the uncertainty in source quantification, methylation must be a focus of risk analysis, because this process is responsible for risks to human and ecosystem health for almost all modern day Hg exposures.展开更多

In Taiwan,the low birth rate has become one of the most critical problems faced by the government and educational institutions at all levels.The enrolling student number of kindergartens perhaps is the most directly a...In Taiwan,the low birth rate has become one of the most critical problems faced by the government and educational institutions at all levels.The enrolling student number of kindergartens perhaps is the most directly affected by such trend.The purpose of this study aims at constructing a system dynamics model to depict the relationships between the preschool children and their stakeholders for deducing the evolutionary trends of,and the interactions of,governmental policies and the operations of the early childhood education institutions.Through the interpretation of policies and simulation analysis of the twenty-year growth trend related to the child population in Taiwan,this study found that governmental policies and the promotion of education and care services have a positive effect on the growth of all levels of kindergarten classes.Besides,the relationship between the education and care service staff and the kindergarten play a causal balancing role in our proposed model.We suggest that the system dynamics model proposed by this study can help to observe the dynamic relationships formed by the stakeholders in preschool education and care system based on the“joint responsibility”of Taiwan’s early childhood education.展开更多

文摘In Taiwan,the low birth rate has become one of the most critical problems faced by the government and educational institutions at all levels.The enrolling student number of kindergartens perhaps is the most directly affected by such trend.The purpose of this study aims at constructing a system dynamics model to depict the relationships between the preschool children and their stakeholders for deducing the evolutionary trends of,and the interactions of,governmental policies and the operations of the early childhood education institutions.Through the interpretation of policies and simulation analysis of the twenty-year growth trend related to the child population in Taiwan,this study found that governmental policies and the promotion of education and care services have a positive effect on the growth of all levels of kindergarten classes.Besides,the relationship between the education and care service staff and the kindergarten play a causal balancing role in our proposed model.We suggest that the system dynamics model proposed by this study can help to observe the dynamic relationships formed by the stakeholders in preschool education and care system based on the“joint responsibility”of Taiwan’s early childhood education.
文摘Motivation of learning English as a second language has been being paid much attention for many years.This critical review focuses on a research article,titled a self system perspective on young adolescents’motivation to learn English in urban and rural settings,written by Martin Lamb.This article is not a general analysis on motivation of learning English as a second language(ESL),but concentrates on two specific aspects:one is based on a self system perspective(D?rnyei’s,2009),and the other is to set the young adolescents in Indonesia as its target objects,and to compare the distinguish of young adolescents’motivation to learn English under the modern globalization context among three different regions.

文摘Allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation(allo-HCT) remains a cornerstone therapy for severe hematologic malignancies, offering a potential cure when conventional therapies are ineffective. However, not all patients are suitable recipients of allo-HCT, particularly the elderly patients and those with high comorbidity burdens.Furthermore, patients who develop relapse or graft failure after initial transplantation encounter additional challenges when evaluated for a second transplant.
文摘This case study presents different strategies that were explored by the patient’s mother (who is a researcher in music and medicine) when her 17-year-old daughter was diagnosed with ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). ME is not widely recognized in the Global as well as the Swedish population at large, and within healthcare, there are no standardized recommended treatments, partly due to the lack of published evidence-based studies. This case study aims to provide insights into how the Swedish healthcare system works, how different clinics and hospitals within it operate and interconnect;and how these contribute to health outcomes after 15 months of treatment.

文摘Innovation and entrepreneurship education is an essential content in the current teaching of colleges and universities and an important driving force to promote students’employment.Currently,colleges and universities continue to strengthen the innovation of innovation and entrepreneurship teaching,and the construction of the evaluation system of innovation and entrepreneurship education is lagging.The evaluation system is an important evaluation standard for innovation and entrepreneurship teaching and the basis for educational innovation,which is also a critical part of teaching that requires attention.This paper takes the construction of the evaluation index system of innovation and entrepreneurship education in vocational colleges as the research goal and understands the function of innovation and entrepreneurship evaluation as well as the evaluation principle through the literature analysis method.It also analyzes the evaluation index system of innovation and entrepreneurship teaching from students’perspective to provide an effective reference for the implementation of innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher vocational colleges.
文摘The market economy has effectively promoted the development of our society, but under the influence of the loss of state-owned resources and the shortage of resources, it may lead to the deterioration of the ecological environment, affecting the quality of the use of state-owned resources and the allocation of power and responsibility. Therefore, the staff should establish a systematic management system of state-owned resources, and determine a scientific market management model based on the allocation of property rights and the management requirements of property rights, in order to improve the utilization efficiency of natural resources and implement the policy requirements of sustainable development. Based on this, the article discusses the principles, problems and measures of Chinas resource-based state-owned assets management system innovation from the perspective of property rights.
