BACKGROUND Depression is a leading global health concern with high suicide rates and recurrence.Cognitive models suggest that mental pain and automatic thoughts are central to depression's impact.The hypothesis is...BACKGROUND Depression is a leading global health concern with high suicide rates and recurrence.Cognitive models suggest that mental pain and automatic thoughts are central to depression's impact.The hypothesis is that self-compassion will be negatively associated with mental pain,mediated by automatic thoughts.AIM To determine the mediating role of automatic thoughts in the relationship between self-compassion and mental pain in individuals with depression.METHODS This cross-sectional study included 389 inpatients with depression from Tianjin Anding Hospital.Participants completed the Self-Compassion Scale-Chinese Version(SCS-C),Automatic Thought Questionnaire(ATQ),and Orbach&Mikulincer Mental Pain Scale-Chinese Version(OMMP).Data were analyzed using Pearson correlations,multiple linear regressions,and mediation analysis.RESULTS The SCS-C total score was 68.95±14.89,ATQ was 87.02±28.91,and OMMP was 129.01±36.74.Correlation analysis showed mental pain was positively associated with automatic thoughts(r=0.802,P<0.001)and negatively with selfcompassion(r=-0.636,P<0.001).Regression analysis indicated automatic thoughts(β=0.623,P<0.001)and self-compassion(β=-0.301,P<0.001)significantly predicted mental pain.Mediation analysis confirmed automatic thoughts partially mediated the relationship between self-compassion and mental pain(ab=-0.269,95%CI:-0.363 to-0.212).CONCLUSION Self-compassion is inversely related to mental pain in depression,with automatic thoughts playing a mediating role.These findings suggest potential therapeutic targets for alleviating mental pain in depressed patients.展开更多

EVD, caused by Ebolavirus and previously known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is an acute infectious disease with fatality rates up to 90%. As of August 22, 2014, the number of suspected and confirmed cases was 2615, causing 1427 deaths[I]. On August 8, 2014, World Health Organization announced the current outbreak in West Africa as an international public health emergency. The global epidemic tendency remains ambiguous to date. In recent years, China closely collaborates with West Africa in labor, business, overseas education, and also sends aid medical team there. Thus, the risk of importing the disease cannot be ignored. Method: The Behavior Rating I...Objectives: Our aim was to compare the effects of an unwanted intrusive thought on executive function in a group of people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and in a healthy group. Method: The Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function Adult (BRIEF-A) was used to measure executive dysfunction in everyday life in people with OCD. The study participants underwent either an intrusive thought induction or neutral thought induction prior to the administration of three computer-based tests of executive function. Results: The BRIEF-A results confirmed the impairment of executive function in everyday life for patients with OCD. In the number-letter task, patients with OCD displayed a longer reaction time (relative to the controls). There were no intergroup differences in the local-global task. In the go/no-go task, there was a significant impairment (p = 0.03) in the OCD group (with more commission errors than controls). There was a non-significant trend towards an effect of thought induction in both groups in the number-letter task. However, intrusive thought induction did not have a greater effect than neutral thought induction on the OCD group in any of the tasks. Conclusions: Intrusive thought induction has no effect on executive function in the two groups. The two groups differed with regard to two executive tasks.展开更多

文摘This paper attempts to interpret Richard Powers' ecological thoughts in his sixth novel Gain. It mainly records the development of the corporate body's expansion and the individual body's declination to further analyze how the corporate organism becomes a lethal threat to the individual in the end. The two narrative lines reveals the worsening of industrial greedy and the increasing danger of human existence.Powers expresses his holistic ecological vision: Are big companies human's greatest hope or greatest threat?
文摘The standardization community need to recognize the nature of standards. In the 199os, I put forward that standards are restraints by nature. First of all, those restraints are imposed by humans to create order and obtain benefits rather than being formed naturally. Secondly, they are good for development; otherwise, there is no necessity for its existence. Furthermore, they can bring both economical and social benefits. Finally, those restraints are characterized by specific methods, such as simplification （including serialization and universalization）, unification, modularization, routinization and comprehensive standardization. Standardization is how such restraints are implemented.

文摘Objectives: Our aim was to compare the effects of an unwanted intrusive thought on executive function in a group of people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and in a healthy group. Method: The Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function Adult (BRIEF-A) was used to measure executive dysfunction in everyday life in people with OCD. The study participants underwent either an intrusive thought induction or neutral thought induction prior to the administration of three computer-based tests of executive function. Results: The BRIEF-A results confirmed the impairment of executive function in everyday life for patients with OCD. In the number-letter task, patients with OCD displayed a longer reaction time (relative to the controls). There were no intergroup differences in the local-global task. In the go/no-go task, there was a significant impairment (p = 0.03) in the OCD group (with more commission errors than controls). There was a non-significant trend towards an effect of thought induction in both groups in the number-letter task. However, intrusive thought induction did not have a greater effect than neutral thought induction on the OCD group in any of the tasks. Conclusions: Intrusive thought induction has no effect on executive function in the two groups. The two groups differed with regard to two executive tasks.
