An integrated laser diode driver(LDD) driving an edge-emitting laser diode was designed and fabricated by 0.35 μm BiCMOS technology. This paper proposes a scheme which combines the automatic power control loop and temperature com-pensation for modulation current in order to maintain constant extinction ratio and average optical power. To implement tem-perature compensation for modulation current,a novel circuit which generates a PTAT current by using the injecting base current of a bipolar transistor in saturation region,and alternates the amplifier feedback loop(closed or not) to control the state of the current path is presented. Simulation results showed that programmed by choice of external resistors,the IC can provide modu-lation current from 5 mA to 85 mA with temperature compensation adjustments and independent bias current from 4 mA to 100 mA. Optical test results showed that clear eye-diagrams can be obtained at 155 Mbps,with the output optical power being nearly constant,and the variation of extinction ratio being lower than 0.7 dB. 展开更多

This study presents the use of an innovative population-based algorithm called the Sine Cosine Algorithm and its metaheuristic form,Quasi Oppositional Sine Cosine Algorithm,to automatic generation control of a multiple-source-based interconnected power system that consists of thermal,gas,and hydro power plants.The Proportional-Integral-Derivative controller,which is utilized for automated generation control in an interconnected hybrid power systemwith aDClink connecting two regions,has been tuned using the proposed optimization technique.An Electric Vehicle is taken into consideration only as an electrical load.The Quasi Oppositional Sine Cosinemethod’s performance and efficacy have been compared to the Sine Cosine Algorithm and optimal output feedback controller tuning performance.Applying the QOSCA optimization technique,which has only been shown in this study in the context of an LFC research thus far,makes this paper unique.The main objective has been used to assess and compare the dynamic performances of the recommended controller along with QOSCA optimisation technic.The resilience of the controller is examined using two different system parameters:B(frequency bias parameter)and R(governor speed regulation).The sensitivity analysis results demonstrate the high reliability of the QOSCA algorithm-based controller.Once optimal controller gains are established for nominal conditions,step load perturbations up to±10%&±25%in the nominal values of the systemparameters and operational load condition do not require adjustment of the controller.Ultimately,a scenario is examined whereby EVs are used for area 1,and a single PID controller is used rather than three. 展开更多

Because of a network transmission delay inherent in the topology, synchronization between nodes has become a critical issue which needs to be studied. The existing synchronization methods largely depend on the complex communication protocol. Therefore, this paper has proposed a method of automatic measurement and compensation of synchronization delay, and analyzed its operating principle and implementation procedure in detail. Given the actual working of a fully mechanized plough at a mining face, we have proposed a formula for running constraints between powered supports and a coal plough under assumed geological conditions of the coal face and, on this basis, established an automatic control model of powered supports for the coal plough face. We introduced the working principle of the powered support control system of the plough at the mining face. We established three advanced characteristics of this control system: response speed, reliability and easy maintenance of the system. As well, we briefly introduced, the principal function of primary and subordinate controllers and the realization of the communication system by a Single Bus. Ten controllers were constructed and tested in our laboratorium. The results show that the control model is practical and meets actual conditions. It provides a theoretical basis for designing a comouter control system for a oowered support system of a plough at a mining face. 展开更多

The scheme is based on ultra-short-term wind power forecast. 维持系统频率质量是新型电力系统建设面临的关键挑战。高比例新能源电力系统的强源荷波动对自动发电控制(AGC)总体指令分配策略的合理性提出了更高要求。现有指令分配策略未考虑不同工况下调节电源对不同AGC指令的响应性能差异,AGC指令... 维持系统频率质量是新型电力系统建设面临的关键挑战。高比例新能源电力系统的强源荷波动对自动发电控制(AGC)总体指令分配策略的合理性提出了更高要求。现有指令分配策略未考虑不同工况下调节电源对不同AGC指令的响应性能差异,AGC指令与电源运行工况之间的不适配易导致电源调频响应性能不达标。针对上述问题,提出动态匹配电源实时运行工况的AGC调节需求分解策略。首先,构建了基于数据驱动的电源调频性能达标感知模型,可在给定运行工况及接收的AGC指令下,感知电源调频性能能否满足考核要求,并基于此反推了给定运行工况下电源能够有效响应的指令范围;然后,针对当前常用的超前分配和实时分配,分别提出了内嵌电源指令适配范围的AGC分配策略,以提升AGC指令分配结果与电源运行状态的匹配度;最后,基于中国某省级电网实际燃气机组和水电机组数据验证了所提方法的有效性。 展开更多

The increasing use of renewable energy in the power system results in strong stochastic disturbances and degrades the control performance of the distributed power grids.In this paper,a novel multi-agent collaborative reinforcement learning algorithm is proposed with automatic optimization,namely,Dyna-DQL,to quickly achieve an optimal coordination solution for the multi-area distributed power grids.The proposed Dyna framework is combined with double Q-learning to collect and store the environmental samples.This can iteratively update the agents through buffer replay and real-time data.Thus the environmental data can be fully used to enhance the learning speed of the agents.This mitigates the negative impact of heavy stochastic disturbances caused by the integration of renewable energy on the control performance.Simulations are conducted on two different models to validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.The results demonstrate that the proposed Dyna-DQL algorithm exhibits superior stability and robustness compared to other reinforcement learning algorithms. 展开更多

An improved automatic voltage coordination control strategy (AVCCS) based on ;automatic voltage control (AVC) and battery energy storage control (BESC) is proposed for photovoltaic grid-connected system (PVGS) to mitigate the voltage fluctuations caused by environmental disturbances. Only AVC is used when small environ- mental disturbances happen, while BESC is incorporated with AVC to restrain the voltage fluctuations when large disturbances happen. An adjustable parameter determining the allowed amplitudes of voltage fluctuations is introduced to realize the above switching process. A benchmark low voltage distribution system including ]?VGS is established by using the commercial software Dig SILENT. Simulation results show that the voltage under AVCCS satisfies the IEEE Standard 1547, and the installed battery capacity is also reduced. Meanwhile, the battery's service life is ex- tended by avoiding frequent charges/discharges in the control process. 展开更多

This paper presents the design and implementation of a digitally calibrated CMOS wideband radio frequency(RF) root-mean-square(RMS) power detector for high accuracy RF automatic gain control(AGC).The proposed RMS power detector demonstrates accurate power detection in the presence of process,supply voltage, and temperature(PVT) variations by employing a digital calibration scheme.It also consumes low power and occupies a small chip area.The measurement results show that the scheme improves the accuracy of the detector to better than 0.3 dB over the PVT variations and wide operating frequency range from 0.2 to 0.8 GHz.Implemented in a 0.18μm CMOS process and occupying a small die area of 263×214μm^2,the proposed digitally calibrated CMOS RMS power detector only consumes 1.6 mA in power detection mode and 2.1 mA in digital calibration mode from a 1.8 V supply voltage. 展开更多

Quickly getting back the synchronism of a disturbed interconnected multi-area power system due to variations in loading condition is recognized as prominent issue related to automatic generation control(AGC).In this regard,AGC system based on fuzzy logic,i.e.,so-called FLAGC can introduce an effectual performance to suppress the dynamic oscillations of tie-line power exchanges and frequency in multi-area interconnected power system.Apart from that,simultaneous coordination scheme based on particle swarm optimization(PSO)along with real coded genetic algorithm(RCGA)is suggested to coordinate FLAGCs of the all areas.To clarify the high efficiency of aforementioned strategy,two different interconnected multi-area power systems,i.e.,three-area hydro-thermal power system and five-area thermal power system have been taken into account for relevant studies.The potency of this strategy has been thoroughly dealt with by considering the step load perturbation(SLP)in both the under study power systems.To sum up,the simulation results have plainly revealed dynamic performance of FLAGC as compared with conventional AGC(CAGC)in each power system in order to damp out the power system oscillations. 展开更多

This paper proposes a new structure to lower the power consumption of a variable gain amplifier(VGA) and keep the linearity of the VGA unchanged.The structure is used in a high rate amplitude-shift keying(ASK) based IF-stage.It includes an automatic gain control(AGC) loop and ASK demodulator.The AGC mainly consists of sixstage VGAs.The IF-stage is realized in 0.18μm CMOS technology.The measurement results show that the power consumption of the whole system is very low.The system consumes 730μA while operating at 1.8 V.The minimum ASK signal the system could detect is 0.7 mV(peak to peak amplitude). 展开更多
