Five groups of 150×150 mm×mm plain square columns are ca...This paper aims to present an effective method to partial deteriorated strength columns,and to investigate the mechanical behavior of the defect part. Five groups of 150×150 mm×mm plain square columns are cast; each specimen has two different strengths,the lower strength in the middle segment and higher strength in both ends. The lower strength is to simulate the status of partial deteriorated region. Different layers of CFRP sheets have been wrapped just on the lower strength part to gain the reinforcement with CFRP sheets,and to verify the practicability of partial confinement. Specimens are subjected to monotonic axial compression until failure. Axial load,axial and transverse strains are measured to compare the different behaviors between the two parts. Experimental results show that partial confinement can significantly enhance the strength and the ductility of the deteriorated strength part,then,the load capacity of the whole column can be increased subsequently. Test data indicate that the ultimate load of the confined column is higher than that of the original column without deterioration; partial confinement on weakness is a feasible approach.展开更多

Quantum link models(QLMs)serve as experimentally accessible platforms for studying lattice gauge theories with finite-dimensional Hilbert spaces.In this work,we investigate information scrambling in the partially conf...Quantum link models(QLMs)serve as experimentally accessible platforms for studying lattice gauge theories with finite-dimensional Hilbert spaces.In this work,we investigate information scrambling in the partially confined phase of a spin-1 quantum link model by calculating the dynamics of out-of-time-ordered correlators(OTOCs)and entanglement entropy.We observe that,in the partially confined phase,information scrambling exhibits significant asymmetry,manifested as the unidirectional propagation of both OTOCs and entanglement entropy.This phenomenon stands in stark contrast to the isotropic spreading observed in the deconfined phase and the localization characteristic of the confined phase.Furthermore,the simultaneous occurrence of the unidirectional propagation of both OTOCs and entanglement entropy,together with the q-induced asymmetric excitation propagation,reveals a direct connection between information scrambling and charge confinement.展开更多

T...Measurements of the excitation power-dependence and temperature-dependence photoluminescence(PL) are performed to investigate the emission mechanisms of In Ga N/Ga N quantum wells(QWs) in laser diode structures. The PL spectral peak is blueshifted with increasing temperature over a certain temperature range. It is found that the blueshift range was larger when the PL excitation power is smaller. This particular behavior indicates that carriers are thermally activated from localized states and partially screen the piezoelectric field present in the QWs. The small blueshift range corresponds to a weak quantum-confined Stark effect(QCSE) and a relatively high internal quantum efficiency(IQE) of the QWs.展开更多
