The results showed that the profound expression of HO-1 protein as well as HO activity was 1.8- and 2.0-fold increased respectively in the transfected cells compared to the non-transfected ones. The treatment of VSMC with different concentrations of H2O2 led to the remarkable cell damage as indicated by survival rate and LDH leakage. However, the resistance of the HO-1 transfected VSMC against H2O2 was significantly raised. This protective effect was dramatically diminished when the transfected VSMC were pretreated with ZnPP-IX, a specific inhibitor of HO, for 24 h. In addition, we found that the growth potential of the transfected cells was significantly inhibited directly by increased activity of HO-1, and this effect might be related to decreased phosphorylation of MAPK. These results suggest that the overexpression of introduced hHO-1 is potentially able to reduce the risk factors of atherosclerosis, partially due to its cellular protection against oxidative injury and to its inhibitory effect on cellular proliferation.展开更多

Hyodeoxycholic acid(HDCA) is a bioactive compound extracted from calculus bovis. When combined with cholic acid, baicalin and jas-minoidin, HDCA prevents hypoxia-reoxygenation-induced brain injury by suppressing endoplasmic reticulum stress-mediated apoptotic signaling. However, the effects of HDCA in ischemic stroke injury have not yet been studied. Neurovascular unit(NVU) dysfunction occurs in ischemic stroke. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the effects of HDCA on the NVU under ischemic conditions in vitro. We co-cultured primary brain microvascular endothelial cells, neurons and astrocytes using a transwell chamber co-culture system. The NVU was pre-treated with 10.16 or 2.54 μg/mL HDCA for 24 hours before exposure to oxygen-glucose deprivation for 1 hour. The cell counting kit-8 assay was used to detect cell activity. Flow cytometry and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling were used to assess apoptosis. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure the expression levels of inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-1β, interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α, and neurotrophic factors, including brain-derived neurotrophic factor and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor. Oxidative stress-related factors, such as superoxide dismutase, nitric oxide, malondialdehyde and γ-glutamyltransferase, were measured using kits. Pretreatment with HDCA significantly decreased blood-brain barrier permeability and neuronal apoptosis, significantly increased transendothelial electrical resistance and γ-glutamyltransferase activity, attenuated oxidative stress damage and the release of inflammatory cytokines, and increased brain-derived neurotrophic factor and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor expression. Our findings suggest that HDCA maintains NVU morphological integrity and function by modulating inflammation, oxidation stress, apoptosis, and the expression of neurotrophic factors. Therefore, HDCA may have therapeutic potential in the clinical management of ischemic stroke. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Experimental Animals of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine(approval No. BUCM-3-2016040201-2003) in April 2016.展开更多

Huwe1 is involved in the turnover of numerous substrates, including p53, Mcl-1, Cdc6 and N-myc, thereby playing a critical role in apoptosis and neurogenesis. However, the role of Huwe1 in brain ischemia and reperfusion injury remains unclear. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the role of Huwe1 in an in vitro model of ischemia and reperfusion injury. At 3 days in vitro, primary cortical neurons were transduced with a control or shRNA-Huwe1 lentiviral vector to silence expression of Huwe1. At 7 days in vitro, the cells were exposed to oxygen-glucose deprivation for 3 hours and reperfusion for 24 hours. To examine the role of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)/p38 pathway, cortical neurons were pretreated with a JNK inhibitor(SP600125) or a p38 MAPK inhibitor(SB203508) for 30 minutes at 7 days in vitro, followed by ischemia and reperfusion. Neuronal apoptosis was assessed by TUNEL assay. Protein expression levels of JNK and p38 MAPK and of apoptosis-related proteins(p53, Gadd45 a, cleaved caspase-3, Bax and Bcl-2) were measured by western blot assay. Immunofluorescence labeling for cleaved caspase-3 was performed. We observed a significant increase in neuronal apoptosis and Huwe1 expression after ischemia and reperfusion. Treatment with the shRNA-Huwe1 lentiviral vector markedly decreased Huwe1 levels, and significantly decreased the number of TUNEL-positive cells after ischemia and reperfusion. The silencing vector also downregulated the pro-apoptotic proteins Bax and cleaved caspase-3, and upregulated the anti-apoptotic proteins Gadd45 a and Bcl-2. Silencing Huwe1 also significantly reduced p-JNK levels and increased p-p38 levels. Our findings show that downregulating Huwe1 affects the JNK and p38 MAPK signaling pathways as well as the expression of apoptosis-related genes to provide neuroprotection during ischemia and reperfusion. All animal experiments and procedures were approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Sichuan University, China in January 2018(approval No. 2018013).展开更多

However, the precise neuroprotective mechanism of Shuxuetong injection remains poorly understood. Here, cerebral microvascular endothelial cells(bEnd.3) were incubated in glucose-free Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium containing 95% N_2/5% CO_2 for 6 hours, followed by high-glucose medium containing 95% O_2 and 5% CO_2 for 18 hours to establish an oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion model. This in vitro cell model was administered Shuxuetong injection at 1/32, 1/64, and 1/128 concentrations(diluted 32-, 64-, and 128-times). Cell Counting Kit-8 assay was used to evaluate cell viability. A fluorescence method was used to measure lactate dehydrogenase, and a fluorescence microplate reader used to detect intracellular reactive oxygen species. A fluorescent probe was also used to measure mitochondrial superoxide production. A cell resistance meter was used to measure transepithelial resistance and examine integrity of monolayer cells. The fluorescein isothiocyanate-dextran test was performed to examine blood-brain barrier permeability. Real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction was performed to analyze mRNA expression levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-1β, interleukin-6, and inducible nitric oxide synthase. Western blot assay was performed to analyze expression of caspase-3, intercellular adhesion molecule 1, vascular cell adhesion molecule 1, occludin, vascular endothelial growth factor, cleaved caspase-3, B-cell lymphoma 2, phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase, extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase, nuclear factor-κB p65, I kappa B alpha, phosphorylated I kappa B alpha, I kappa B kinase, phosphorylated I kappa B kinase, claudin-5, and zonula occludens-1. Our results show that Shuxuetong injection increases bEnd.3 cell viability and B-cell lymphoma 2 expression, reduces cleaved caspase-3 expression, inhibits production of reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial superoxide, suppresses expression of tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-1β, interleukin-6, inducible nitric oxide synthase mRNA, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, markedly increases transepithelial resistance, decreases blood-brain barrier permeability, upregulates claudin-5, occludin, and zonula occludens-1 expression, reduces nuclear factor-κB p65 and vascular endothelial growth factor expression, and reduces I kappa B alpha, extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase 1/2, and I kappa B kinase phosphorylation levels. Overall, these findings suggest that Shuxuetong injection has protective effects on brain microvascular endothelial cells after oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion. Moreover, its protective effect is associated with reduction of mitochondrial superoxide production, inhibition of the inflammatory response, and inhibition of vascular endothelial growth factor, extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase 1/2, and the nuclear factor-κB p65 signaling pathway.展开更多

Method: This is a randomized study including 30 patients. Blood lactate and mixed venous oxygen saturation were measured in 4 groups of patients—number of grafts, presence or absence of left main coronary artery disease, ejection fraction and serum creatinine. Blood samples were taken before induction, after grafting, on intensive care unit admission, 24 hours and 48 hours after surgery. The measured blood lactate and mixed venous oxygen saturation are compared to assess the outcomes in terms of duration of ventilation and intensive care unit stay. Results: The blood lactate and mixed venous oxygen saturation values increased post operatively but no statistically significant difference in three groups— number of grafts, left main coronary artery disease and ejection fraction. In serum creatinine group, the blood lactate value was found to be statistically significant after grafting in patients with creatinine <1.5 mg/dl, however, there was a significant disparity in numbers. Conclusion: Mixed venous oxygen saturation is a better predictor of morbidity than blood lactate in terms of intensive care unit stay in patients undergoing off pump coronary artery bypass grafting.展开更多

This climatic phenomenon (formation of negative charge in that case) has long been considered as physical phenomena of very small space-time scales. Now we have good reasons to say that this perception of troposphere electrical status is totally meaningless. Indeed, it is now easy to show that significant numbers of electrons are provided to troposphere at each appearance of a thunderstorm (or a lightning flash). Thereafter, movement implemented in the troposphere by winds (e.g., West African aerojet) contributes to the formation of low altitudes Electrojets (e.g., West African Equatorial Aerojet gives birth to West African Equatorial Electrojet). The existence of Low Layers Equatorial Electrojets (LL-EEJ) was totally unknown by the first theorists who have studied the Earth’s Ionosphere Plasma Physics and Electrodynamics. This mistake has led their followers to many questions unanswered in their attempt to explain the longitudinal and seasonal variations of observed EEJ. In this paper, we will provide many useful explanations on the manner in which clouds provide oxygen to troposphere and thereafter trigger negative static charges (e-) throughout both troposphere and ionosphere. Indeed, this paper also explains how, opportunely, the ITF (inter tropical front) plays the role of the tap which facilitates oxygen transfer from troposphere to ionosphere. Detailed studies on the Earth’s troposphere plasma physics and electrodynamics are impatiently awaited.展开更多

Methods: We examined one patient each for NPPV and NHF. Polysomnography (PSG), review of the patient charts, and semi-structured interviews were used to collect the data for analysis. Results: Patients treated with NPPV or NHF demonstrated a noticeable reduction in deep sleep, with most of their sleep being shallow. Their sleep patterns varied greatly from those of healthy individuals. These results suggest that, in addition to experiencing extremely fragmented sleep, sleep in these patients was more likely to be interrupted by nursing interventions, such as during auscultation of breath sounds. Furthermore, it was revealed that “anxiety or discomfort that accompanies the mask or air pressure” in patients treated with NPPV and “discomfort that accompanies the nasal cannula or NHF circuit” in patients treated with NHF may be primary causes of disrupted sleep. Our results suggest a need for nursing care aimed at improving sleep quality in patients treated with NPPV or NHF.展开更多

This study investigates the effect of chronic in vitro ethanol exposure on the metabolism of immature rat cerebellar granular cells(CGCs) and on their response to oxygen-glucose deprivation(OGD). Primary CGC cultures were exposed to ethanol(100 mM in culture medium) or to control ethanol-free medium starting day one in vitro(DIV1). At DIV8, the expression of ATP synthase gene ATP5 g3 was quantified using real-time PCR, then cultures were exposed to 3 hours of OGD or normoxic conditions. Subsequently, cellular metabolism was assessed by a resazurin assay and by ATP level measurement. ATP5 g3 expression was reduced by 12-fold(P = 0.03) and resazurin metabolism and ATP level were decreased to 74.4 ± 4.6% and 55.5 ± 6.9%, respectively after chronic ethanol treatment compared to control values(P < 0.01). Additionally, after OGD exposure of ethanol-treated cultures, resazurin metabolism and ATP level were decreased to 12.7 ± 1.0% and 9.0 ± 2.0% from control values(P < 0.01). These results suggest that chronic ethanol exposure reduces the cellular ATP level, possibly through a gene expression down-regulation mechanism, and increases the vulnerability to oxygen-glucose deprivation. Thus, interventions which improve metabolic function and sustain ATP-levels could attenuate ethanol-induced neuronal dysfunction and should be addressed in future studies.展开更多

Tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia are the major symptoms of the disease. These motor impairments are often accompanied by affective and emotional dysfunctions which have been largely studied over the last decade. The aim of this study was to investigate emotional processing organization in the brain of patients with Parkinson's disease and to explore whether there are differences between recognition of different types of emotions in Parkinson's disease. We examined 18 patients with Parkinson's disease(8 men, 10 women) with no history of neurological or psychiatric comorbidities. All these patients underwent identical brain blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging for emotion evaluation. Blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging results revealed that the occipito-temporal cortices, insula, orbitofrontal cortex, basal ganglia, and parietal cortex which are involved in emotion processing, were activated during the functional control. Additionally, positive emotions activate larger volumes of the same anatomical entities than neutral and negative emotions. Results also revealed that Parkinson's disease associated with emotional disorders are increasingly recognized as disabling as classic motor symptoms. These findings help clinical physicians to recognize the emotional dysfunction of patients with Parkinson's disease.展开更多

文摘To investigate whether the expression of exogenous heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) gene within vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) could protect the cells from free radical attack and inhibit cell proliferation, we established an in vitro transfection of human HO-1 gene into rat VSMC mediated by a retroviral vector. These results suggest that the overexpression of introduced hHO-1 is potentially able to reduce the risk factors of atherosclerosis, partially due to its cellular protection against oxidative injury and to its inhibitory effect on cellular proliferation.

文摘Calculus bovis is commonly used for the treatment of stroke in traditional Chinese medicine. 文摘HECT, UBA and WWE domain-containing 1(Huwe1), an E3 ubiquitin ligase involved in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, is widely expressed in brain tissue. 2018013).

文摘Shuxuetong injection composed of leech(Hirudo nipponica Whitman) and earthworm(Pheretima aspergillum) has been used for the clinical treatment of acute stroke for many years in China. However, the precise neuroprotective mechanism of Shuxuetong injection remains poorly understood. Here, cerebral microvascular endothelial cells(bEnd.3) were incubated in glucose-free Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium containing 95% N_2/5% CO_2 for 6 hours, followed by high-glucose medium containing 95% O_2 and 5% CO_2 for 18 hours to establish an oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion model. This in vitro cell model was administered Shuxuetong injection at 1/32, 1/64, and 1/128 concentrations(diluted 32-, 64-, and 128-times). Cell Counting Kit-8 assay was used to evaluate cell viability. A fluorescence method was used to measure lactate dehydrogenase, and a fluorescence microplate reader used to detect intracellular reactive oxygen species. A fluorescent probe was also used to measure mitochondrial superoxide production. A cell resistance meter was used to measure transepithelial resistance and examine integrity of monolayer cells. The fluorescein isothiocyanate-dextran test was performed to examine blood-brain barrier permeability. Real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction was performed to analyze mRNA expression levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-1β, interleukin-6, and inducible nitric oxide synthase. Western blot assay was performed to analyze expression of caspase-3, intercellular adhesion molecule 1, vascular cell adhesion molecule 1, occludin, vascular endothelial growth factor, cleaved caspase-3, B-cell lymphoma 2, phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase, extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase, nuclear factor-κB p65, I kappa B alpha, phosphorylated I kappa B alpha, I kappa B kinase, phosphorylated I kappa B kinase, claudin-5, and zonula occludens-1. Our results show that Shuxuetong injection increases bEnd.3 cell viability and B-cell lymphoma 2 expression, reduces cleaved caspase-3 expression, inhibits production of reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial superoxide, suppresses expression of tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-1β, interleukin-6, inducible nitric oxide synthase mRNA, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, markedly increases transepithelial resistance, decreases blood-brain barrier permeability, upregulates claudin-5, occludin, and zonula occludens-1 expression, reduces nuclear factor-κB p65 and vascular endothelial growth factor expression, and reduces I kappa B alpha, extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase 1/2, and I kappa B kinase phosphorylation levels. Overall, these findings suggest that Shuxuetong injection has protective effects on brain microvascular endothelial cells after oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion. Moreover, its protective effect is associated with reduction of mitochondrial superoxide production, inhibition of the inflammatory response, and inhibition of vascular endothelial growth factor, extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase 1/2, and the nuclear factor-κB p65 signaling pathway.

文摘Hafnia-based ferroelectrics have emerged as promising materials for next-generation nanoelectronics owing to their robust nanoscale properties and compatibility with metal-oxide-semiconductor technology. However, their metastable nature remains a key challenge for practical implementation.Utilizing scanning transmission electron microscopy,we investigated the atomic-scale mechanisms governing ferroelectric transitions and the metastability of polar phases in 10-nm-thick Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2)thin films. Our results demonstrate that oxygen vacancies, coupled with rhombohedral distortions of the cation lattice, facilitate ferroelectric phase transitions and enable robust polar switching through adaptive processes, including cell-by-cell oxygen displacement and domain-wall-mediated nucleation and growth. These findings underscore the pivotal role of oxygen vacancies and lattice distortions in stabilizing polar phases and provide detailed insights into the atomic structures and transition dynamics of polymorphic Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2-x),thereby advancing its potential for practical device applications.

文摘Abiotic oxygen formation predates photosynthesis, sustaining early chemical evolution, yet its elementary mechanisms remain contested. Here,we show the production pathways for molecular oxygen from doubly ionized carbon dioxide upon electron-impact.Through fragment ions and electron coincidence momentum imaging,we unambiguously determine the ionization mechanism by measuring the projectile energy loss in association with the C^(+) +O_(2)^(+) channel.Further potential energy and trajectory calculations enable us to elucidate the dynamical details of this fragmentation process,in which a bond rearrangement pathway is found to proceed via the structural deformation to a triangular intermediate. Moreover,we demonstrate a further roaming pathway for the formation of O_(2)^(+) from CO_(2)^(+) 2,in which a frustrated C-O bond cleavage leaves the O atom without sufficient energy to escape. The O atom then wanders around varied configuration spaces of the flat potential energy regions and forms a C-O-O_(2)^(+) intermediate prior to the final products C^(+) +O_(2)^(+).Considering the large quantities of free electrons in interstellar space, the processes revealed here are expected to be significant and should be incorporated into atmospheric evolution models.
文摘Aim: To evaluate the correlation of blood lactate and mixed venous oxygen saturation to predict outcome in off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting. Conclusion: Mixed venous oxygen saturation is a better predictor of morbidity than blood lactate in terms of intensive care unit stay in patients undergoing off pump coronary artery bypass grafting.
文摘Formation of negative static charges (e-) throughout troposphere is a natural phenomenon revealed by some weather events such as storms and lightning flashes that accompany thunderclouds. Detailed studies on the Earth’s troposphere plasma physics and electrodynamics are impatiently awaited.

文摘OBJECTIVE To investigate icariside(ICS)Ⅱ protects against PC12 cel damage induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation and reoxygenation and explore its mechanism.METHODS The oxidative stress injury model was induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation(OGD/R) 2 h/24 h in PC12 cells.N-acetyl-lcysteine(NAC),a classical anti-oxidant,was used as positive control.Pharmacodynamic experimental study groups as follows:control, control+ICS Ⅱ50 μmol·L^(-1),OGD/R,OGD/R+ICSⅡ 12.5 μmol·L^(-1),OGD/R + ICS Ⅱ 25 μmol·L^(-1),OGD/R + ICS Ⅱ50 μmol·L^(-1),and OGD/R+NAC 100 μmol·L^(-1) groups.Cell viability and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) leakage rate were measured by MTT assay and LDH ELISA kit, respectively. Moreover, reactive oxygen species(ROS) ELISA kit was used for detection of intracellular ROS generation,Mito-SOX fluorescence staining was used for detecting production of ROS in mitochondria and mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP)was detected by rhodamine 123 dye.In addition,PC12 cells apoptosis was detected by one-step TUNEL assay.Furthermore, the expressions of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factors(Nrf2),Keap1,HO^(-1),NQO^(-1),silent information regulator 3(SIRT3),IDH2,Bax,Bcl-2 and caspase 3 were detected by Western blotting analysis.RESULTS The results of MTT and LDH assay showed that OGD/R reduced the cell viability and improved LDH release compared with the control or ICSⅡ 50 μmol·L^(-1) alone(P<0.01).Meanwhile,OGD/R not only increased intracellular and mitochondrial ROS generation, but also elevated the fluorescence intensity of TUNEL staining,at the same time, the MMP was declined when challenged by OGD/R.Furthermore,the Western blotting results showed that OGD/R induced the increase in the expression of cytoplasm-Nrf2,Keap1,Bax and cleaved-caspase 3 level, while the decrease in the expression of nucleus-Nrf2,HO^(-1),NQO^(-1),SIRT3,IDH2 and Bcl-2(P<0.05).However,ICS Ⅱ significantly increased the viability of PC12 cells and reduced LDH leakage(P<0.01).Notably,ICS Ⅱ also suppressed ROS generation both in the intracellular and mitochondria,as well as restored MMP.It was also worthy to note that ICS Ⅱ decreased the expressions of cytoplasmNrf2,Keap1,Bax and the level of cleaved-caspase3,whereas,it increased the expressions of nucleus-Nrf2,HO^(-1),NQO^(-1),SIRT3,IDH2 and Bcl-2(P<0.05).CONCLUSION ICSⅡ reduced OGD/Rinduced oxidative damage in PC12 cells under the laboratory conditions, and its underlying mechanism may be related to the regulation of Nrf2/SIRT3 signaling pathway.
文摘Aim: The purpose of this case study was to examine the sleep quality of patients receiving noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NPPV) or nasal high-flow oxygen therapy (NHF) in an intensive care unit and to investigate what types of nursing support are offered to such patients. Our results suggest a need for nursing care aimed at improving sleep quality in patients treated with NPPV or NHF.

文摘Lithium-oxygen(Li-O2)batteries are perceived as a promising breakthrough in sustainable electrochemical energy storage, utilizing ambient air as an energy source, eliminating the need for costly cathode materials, and offering the highest theoretical energy density(~3.5 k Wh kg^(-1))among discussed candidates.Contributing to the poor cycle life of currently reported Li-O_(2)cells is singlet oxygen(1O_(2))formation,inducing parasitic reactions, degrading key components, and severely deteriorating cell performance. Here,we harness the chirality-induced spin selectivity effect of chiral cobalt oxide nanosheets(Co_(3)O_(4)NSs)as cathode materials to suppress 1O_(2)in Li-O_(2)batteries for the first time.Operando photoluminescence spectroscopy reveals a 3.7-fold and 3.23-fold reduction in 1O_(2)during discharge and charge, respectively, compared to conventional carbon paperbased cells, consistent with differential electrochemical mass spectrometry results, which indicate a near-theoretical charge-to-O_(2)ratio(2.04 e-/O_(2)).Density functional theory calculations demonstrate that chirality induces a peak shift near the Fermi level, enhancing Co 3d-O 2p hybridization, stabilizing reaction intermediates, and lowering activation barriers for Li_(2)O_(2)formation and decomposition. These findings establish a new strategy for improving the stability and energy efficiency of sustainable Li-O_(2)batteries,abridging the current gap to commercialization.

文摘The primary challenge in rechargeable Zn-air batteries lies in developing a catalyst capable of simultaneously improving performance for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)during discharge and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)during charge.Engineering spin configuration is essential for enhancing the intrinsic bifunctional activity and stability of spinel Co_(3)O_(4).Herein,Cr^(3+)is doped into Co_(3)O_(4),inducing directional distortion of CoO_6 octahedron to modify crystal field splitting energy, pushing Co_(Oh)toward intermediate-spin(IS)configuration(t_(2g)^(5)e_(g^(1)))with optimized eg occupancy of 1.04.As a result,9%Cr-Co_(3)O_(4)demonstrates an excellent bifunctional activity and remarkable rechargeable Zn-air battery performance that even outperforms Pt/C+RuO_(2).Density functional theory(DFT)studies reveal that IS Co_(Oh)not only regulates the adsorption energy of ORR/OER species but also transform the O_(2)adsorption configuration from end-on to Griffith configuration, thus modifies the mechanisms of both ORR and OER process and optimize bifunctional activity and selectivity. This work provides mechanistic insight into the spin origin of ORR/OER catalysis and highlights a promising strategy for developing robust bifunctional electrocatalysts.

文摘The oxygen evolution reaction(OER)suffers from sluggish kinetics, necessitating efficient electrocatalysts to reduce overpotentials in water splitting.Currently recognized OER mechanisms primarily include the adsorbate evolution mechanism(AEM),lattice oxygen mechanism(LOM),and oxide path mechanism(OPM).Compared to AEM,limited by scaling relationships, and LOM,constrained by stability issues, the OPM offers a promising alternative by enabling direct O-O bond formation via dual active sites, thus bypassing^(*)OOH intermediates and lattice O involvement and achieving a balance between activity and durability. However, activating the OPM process requires precise control over the spatial and electronic structure of active sites, making the design of OPM-based catalysts challenging. While previous reviews have focused on homo/heteronuclear diatomic perspectives of OPM-based catalysts,it is urgent to systematically summarize design strategies to provide a rational reference for their development.Herein,a review of design strategies for OPM-based OER catalysts across three scales is comprehensively presented, including in-situ engineering,doping-enabled sites reconstruction, and introducing new sites for nanoparticles, direct synthesis or post-treatments for molecular catalysts, and doping or template strategies for atom pairs or arrays. The unique advantage of atom arrays is also highlighted, and their future research directions and possible strategies are discussed. This review provides a systematic summary and forward-looking perspectives for rationally designing high-performance OPM-based OER catalysts.

文摘Water electrolysis is pivotal for converting renewable energy into clean hydrogen fuel, addressing global energy demand sustainably. However, the development of highly efficient and cost-effective catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)remains a significant challenge, particularly at the industrial scale. This report explores a newly discovered pathway, the oxide path mechanism(OPM) for OER-mechanism involving the oxide formation and evolution during the reaction, emphasizing its potential to overcome existing limitations.OPM enables direct O-O coupling without oxygen vacancies, offering superior stability. We detail both classical and innovative in-situ characterization techniques that are central to unraveling the OER mechanism. The advanced in-situ electrochemical techniques, such as inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Mössbauer spectroscopy, coupled with in-situ structural analyses, provide crucial insights into the catalyst surface, the electrode-electrolyte interface and the kinetics of OER.This review provides a systematic analysis integrating classical electrochemical methods with advanced in-situ/operando techniques, specifically focusing on understanding OPM.While numerous studies have examined individual characterization methods, this study systematically integrates traditional electrochemical approaches with in-situ and operando techniques, offering critical insights into their complementary roles in elucidating reaction pathways. The integration of these methodologies provides unprecedented understanding of catalyst behavior under operational conditions, guiding the rational design of next-generation OER catalysts.Furthermore,we discuss essential standardized test toolkits and protocols, such as those for rotating disk electrode and membrane electrode assembly, which are vital for ensuring reproducibility and scalability in OER catalyst research.

文摘Alcohol, a widely abused drug, has deleterious effects on the immature nervous system. Thus, interventions which improve metabolic function and sustain ATP-levels could attenuate ethanol-induced neuronal dysfunction and should be addressed in future studies.
文摘We have formulated 3 permissible levels of respiratory resistance for aircraft oxygen equipment in China based on a comprehensive analysis of the results of human pkysiological experiments and feasibility of technological design and performance with reference to existing standards and data. The ideal level can be used as a basic human physiological criterion. The applied permissible level is a criterion that must be followed in the process of design and production. The permissible level during maximum flow rate is presented as an extended allowable criterion for possible exceeding of the stable level for a short time.

The ethereal bond at the β(2)-position of 1-monoaroylated 2,7-dimethoxynaphthalene is cleaved readily and predominantly against the β(7)-position, whereas scission of β-ethereal bonds of 1,8-diaroylated 2,7-dimethoxynaphthalene hardly undergoes like the non-aroylated mother frame compound of 2,7-dimethoxynaphthalene.
文摘Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by loss of dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta. These findings help clinical physicians to recognize the emotional dysfunction of patients with Parkinson's disease.
