The effect of grain size and ordering of the parent phase on the critical points of thermoelastic martensitic transformation in Cu-25.62 Zn-3.97 Al-0.0018 B(wt-%)shape memory alloy has been investigated.Based on the t...The effect of grain size and ordering of the parent phase on the critical points of thermoelastic martensitic transformation in Cu-25.62 Zn-3.97 Al-0.0018 B(wt-%)shape memory alloy has been investigated.Based on the thermodynamics of phase transformation,a linear rela- tionship between the starting temperature of martensitic transformation and the reciprocal of the square root of grain size is obtained,i.e.M_s temperature rises with increasing grain size. It shows a good agreement with the results of electric resistance measurement.Applying the Landau's theory,a quantitative relationship between M_s and the ordering parameter of the parent phase is set up,which is well confirmed by the results of X-ray diffraction and electric resistance measurement.The activation energy of the ordering process in the parent phase of the alloy is calculated to be 46 kJ/mol.展开更多

Results show that the first-order hyperpolarizability P value per CdS partiele decreases as size is reduced to diameter of 31.5 A; however, as CdS size further decreases, this trend is reversed and (J value increases. Substantially, the normalized P value per CdS formula unit, β0, exhibits systematic enhancement with decreasing size. Ru nanoparticles were em...A series of 3 wt% Ru embedded on ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) catalysts with different pore sizes were prepared by autoreduction between ruthenium precursors and carbon sources at 1123 K. Ru nanoparticles were embedded on the carbon walls of OMC. Characterization technologies including power X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption-desorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR) were used to scrutinize the catalysts. The catalyst activity for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) was measured in a fixed bed reactor. It was revealed that 3 wt% Ru-OMC catalysts exhibited highly ordered mesoporous structure and large surface area. Compared with the catalysts with smaller pores, the catalysts with larger pores were inclined to form larger Ru particles. These 3 wt% Ru-OMC catalysts with different pore sizes were more stable than 3 wt% Ru/AC catalyst during the FTS reactions because Ru particles were embedded on the carbon walls, suppressing particles aggregation, movement and oxidation. The catalytic activity and C5+ selectivity were found to increase with the increasing pore size, however, CH4 selectivity showed the opposite trend. We investigated variation in egg and clutch size of the Black Redstart(Phoenicurus ochruros) on the northeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau in order to explore and test the relation between egg size and clutch size and the rules governing the variation in these two components with climate change.Methods: We monitored each located nest daily to determine the exact laying order of the eggs and measured their sizes. The variations in egg volume and clutch size between 2008 and 2009 were studied by independent sample t tests. The difference in egg volume in the sequence of the laying order was tested by Kendall's W test and we employed Pearson correlations to investigate the relation between egg size and laying order. All statistical analyses were performed with IBM SPSS Statistics, version 19.0Results: In 2008, the mean egg volume of the Black Redstart was 2.40 and clutch size wer± 0.20 cm^3(n e 2.26 = 50), and the mean clutch size 4.90 ± 0.57(n = 11). In 2009, the mean egg volumeation between eg± 0.18 cm^3(n g size and layin= 74) and 5.20 g order(r ± 0.26(n = 15) respectively. We found a significantly positive correl, while egg size was strongly and negatively correlated with clutch size(r = 0.397, p = 0.030) smaller eggs but a larger clutch in a brood in a resource-rich year, w= h-0.274, p ereas large= 0.002). Black Redstarts tend to layr eggs but smaller clutches are produced in a harsh year.Conclusions: The Black Redstart adopted a "brood survival strategy" to ensure that more offspring could survive.
