Previously, a 4D variational (4D-Vat) data assimilation system was developed for an intermediate coupled model (ICM) and used to improve ENSO modeling through optimized initial conditions. In this paper, this system is further applied to optimize model parameters. In the ICM used, one important process for ENSO is related to the anomalous temperature of subsurface water entrained into the mixed layer (Te), which is empirically and explicitly related to sea level (SL) variation. The strength of the thermocline effect on SST (referred to simply as "the thermocline effect") is represented by an introduced parameter, (l'Te. A numerical procedure is developed to optimize this model parameter through the 4D-Var assimilation of SST data in a twin experiment context with an idealized setting. Experiments having their initial condition optimized only, and having their initial condition plus this additional model parameter optimized, are compared. It is shown that ENSO evolution can be more effectively recovered by including the additional optimization of this parameter in ENSO modeling. The demonstrated feasibility of optimizing model parameters and initial conditions together through the 4D-Var method provides a modeling platform for ENSO studies. Further applications of the 4D-Vat data assimilation system implemented in the ICM are also discussed.展开更多

In this paper we report the optimization of elastolysis conditions and analysis of elastolytic kinetics. Our results indicated that the hydrolyzing temperature and time are very important factors affecting elastolysis rate. The optimized conditions using central composite design were as follows: elastolysis temperature 50 ℃, elastase concentration 1 × 10^4 U/ml, elastin 80 mg, elastolytic time 4 h. Investigation of the effects of substrate content, elastase concentration and pH was also revealed that low or high elastin content inhibits the elastolysis process. Increasingelastase improves elastin degradation, but high elastase may change the kinetics characterization. Alkaline environment can decrease elastin degradation rate and pH may affect elastolysis by changing elastase reaction pH. To further elucidate the elastolysis process, the logistic model was used to elastolysis kinetics study showing clearly that the logistic model can reasonably explain the elastolysis process, especially under lower elastase concentration. However, there is still need for more investigations with the aid of other methods, such as biochemical and molecular methods.展开更多

The aim of this study is to propose a new control strategy and the optimal condition for sulfide elimination by intermittent nitrate dosing in sewer sediments. The study was carried out based on lab-scale experiments and batch tests using real sewer sediments. The intermittent nitrate dosing mode and the optimal control condition were investigated. The results indicated that the sulfide-intermittent-elimination strategy by nitrate dosing is advantageous for controlling sulfide accumulation in sewer sediment. The oxidation–reduction potential is a sensitive indicator parameter that can reflect the control effect and the minimum N/S(nitrate/sulfide)ratio with slight excess nitrate is necessary for optimal conditions of efficient sulfide control with lower carbon source loss. The optimal control condition is feasible for the sulfide elimination in sewer systems.展开更多

The multi-antenna users and the multi-antenna relay are considered in this work. Different from the existing works, the proposed algorithm is energy-efficient which is more applicable to the future green network. It considers both the sum-MSE problem and the power consumption problem for the users under the relay power constraint. Based on the optimal condition decomposition(OCD) method, the energy-efficient precoders at the users can be designed separately with limited information exchanged. The proposed relay beamforming algorithm is based on the alternative direction method of multipliers(ADMM) which has simpler iterative solution and enjoys good convergence. Simulation results demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithms in terms of power consumption and MSE performance.展开更多

文摘This paper studies a class of multiobjective generalized fractional programming problems, where the numerators of objective functions are the sum of differentiable function and convex function, while the denominators are the difference of differentiable function and convex function. Under the assumption of Calmness Constraint Qualification the Kuhn-Tucker type necessary conditions for efficient solution are given, and the Kuhn-Tucker type sufficient conditions for efficient solution are presented under the assumptions of (F, α, ρ, d)-V-convexity. Subsequently, the optimality conditions for two kinds of duality models are formulated and duality theorems are proved.

文摘In this paper, following the method of replacing the lower level problem with its Kuhn-Tucker optimality condition,we transform the nonlinear bilevel programming problem into a normal nonlinear programming problem with the complementary slackness constraint condition. Then,we get the penalized problem of the normal nonlinear programming problem by appending the complementary slackness condition to the upper level objective with a penalty. We prove that this penalty function is exact and the penalized problem and the nonlinear bilevel programming problem have the same global optimal solution set. Finally,we propose an algorithm for the nonlinear bilevel programming problem. The numerical results show that the algorithm is feasible and efficient.
文摘Quadratic 0-1 problems with linear inequality constraints are briefly considered in this paper.Global optimality conditions for these problems, including a necessary condition and some sufficient conditions, are presented. The necessary condition is expressed without dual variables. The relations between the global optimal solutions of nonconvex quadratic 0-1 problems and the associated relaxed convex problems are also studied.

文摘The formation of hydrogen sulfide in biofilms and sediments in sewer systems can cause severe pipe corrosions and health hazards, and requires expensive programs for its prevention. The optimal control condition is feasible for the sulfide elimination in sewer systems.

文摘Amphioxus, a cephalochordate, is an important model fish for studies in evolution and comparative biology. A successful cell culture from amphioxus tissues in vitro would help understanding some basic issues. To determine the optimal culture conditions for proliferation of amphioxus cells, primary cultures were initiated from buccal cirri, tail, gill, gut and metapleural fold of amphioxus Branchiostoma belcheri tsingtauense. The media tested were L-15, F-12, M 199, MEM, DMEM, PRMI 1640 and LDF, each was supplemented with 20% fetal bovine serum. The optimal conditions include tail tissue cultured in L-15 or F-12 with supplement of 20% FBS and 1.5% NaCl at about 25℃.

文摘In this paper, we focus on energy-efficient transceiver and relay beamforming design for multi-pair two-way relay system. Simulation results demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithms in terms of power consumption and MSE performance.
