However, conventional valve designs often struggle to maintain effective regulation across a wide range of systempressures. To address this limitation, this study introduces a novel Pilot hydraulic valves specificallyengineered for enhanced dynamic performance and precise regulation under variable pressure conditions.Building upon prior experimental findings, the proposed design integrates a high-fidelity simulationframework and a surrogate model-based optimization strategy. The study begins by formulating acomprehensive mathematical model of the pipeline system using electro-hydraulic simulation techniques, capturing the dynamic behavior of both the pilot valve and the broader urban water distribution network. Acoupled simulation platform is then developed, leveraging both one-dimensional (1D) and three-dimensional(3D) software tools to accurately analyze the valve’s transient response and operational characteristics. Toachieve optimal valve performance, a multi-objective optimization approach is proposed. This approachemploys a Levy-based Improved Tuna-InspiredWake-Up Optimization Algorithm (L-TIWOA) to refine aBackpropagation (BP) neural network, thereby constructing a highly accurate surrogate model. Compared tothe conventional BP neural network, the improved model demonstrates significantly reduced mean absoluteerror (MAE) and mean squared error (MSE), underscoring its superior predictive capability. The surrogatemodel serves as the objective function within an Improved Multi-Objective Mother Lode OptimizationAlgorithm (IMOMLOA), which is then used to fine-tune the key design parameters of the control valve.Validation through experimental testing reveals that the optimized valve achieves a maximum flow deviationof just 1.11 t/h, corresponding to a control accuracy of 3.7%, at a target flow rate of 30 t/h. Moreover, substantial improvements in dynamic response are observed, confirming the effectiveness of the proposeddesign and optimization strategy.展开更多

文摘The complexity of living environment system demands higher requirements for the sensitivity and selectivity of the probe. Therefore,it is of great importance to develop a universal strategy for highperformance probe optimization.Herein,we propose a novel“Enrichment-enhanced Detection”strategy and use carbon dots-dopamine detection system as a representative model to evaluate its feasibility. The composite probe carbon dots (CDs)-encapsulated in glycol-chitosan (GC)(i.e.,CDs@GC) was obtained by simply mixing GC and CDs through noncovalent interactions, including electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bonding.Dopamine (DA) could be detected through internal filter effect (IFE)-induced quenching of CDs.In the case of CDs@GC,noncovalent interactions (electrostatic interactions) between GC and the formed quinone (oxide of DA) could selectively extract and enrich the local concentration of DA,thus effectively improving the sensitivity and selectivity of the sensing system. The nanosensor had a low detection limit of 3.7 nmol/L,which was a 12-fold sensitivity improvement compared to the bare CDs probes with similar fluorescent profiles, proving the feasibility of the“Enrichment-enhanced Detection”strategy.Further,to examine this theory in real case,we designed a highly portable sensing platform to realize visual determination of DA.Overall, our work introduces a new strategy for accurately detecting DA and provides valuable insights for the universal design and optimization of superior nanoprobes.

文摘This paper introduces dynamic mode decomposition(DMD)as a novel approach to model the breakage kinetics of particulate systems.DMD provides a data-driven framework to identify a best-fit linear dynamics model from a sequence of system measurement snapshots, bypassing the nontrivial task of determining appropriate mathemat-ical forms for the breakage kernel functions.A key innovation of our method is the instilling of physics-informed constraints into the DMD eigenmodes and eigenvalues, ensuring they adhere to the physical structure of particle breakage processes even under sparse measurement data. The integration of eigen-constraints is computationally aided by a zeroth-order global optimizer for solving the nonlinear, nonconvex optimization problem that elicits system dynamics from data. Our method is evaluated against the state-of-the-art optimized DMD algorithm using both generated data and real-world data of a batch grinding mill, showcasing over an order of magnitude lower prediction errors in data reconstruction and forecasting.
文摘Fingerprint classification is a biometric method for crime prevention. For the successful completion of various tasks, such as official attendance, banking transactions, andmembership requirements, fingerprint classification methods require improvement in terms of accuracy, speed, and the interpretability of non-linear demographic features.Researchers have introduced several CNN-based fingerprint classification models with improved accuracy, but these models often lack effective feature extractionmechanisms and complex multineural architectures. In addition, existing literature primarily focuses on gender classification rather than accurately, efficiently, and confidently classifying hands and fingers through the interpretability of prominent features. This research seeks to improve a compact, robust, explainable, and non-linear feature extraction-based CNN model for robust fingerprint pattern analysis and accurate yet efficient fingerprint classification. The proposed model(a)recognizes gender, hands, and fingers correctly through an advanced channel-wise attention-based feature extraction procedure,(b)accelerates the fingerprints identification process by applying an innovative fractional optimizer within a simple, but effective classification architecture, and(c)interprets prominent features through an explainable artificial intelligence technique. The encapsulated dependencies among distinct complex features are captured through a non-linear activation operation within a customized CNN model. The proposed fractionally optimized convolutional neural network(FOCNN)model demonstrates improved performance compared to some existing models, achieving high accuracies of 97.85%,99.10%,and 99.29%for finger, gender, and hand classification, respectively, utilizing the benchmark Sokoto Coventry Fingerprint Dataset.

文摘Cyber-physical systems(CPS)represent a sophisticated integration of computational and physical components that power critical applications such as smart manufacturing, healthcare, and autonomous infrastructure. However, their extensive reliance on internet connectivity makes them increasingly susceptible to cyber threats, potentially leading to operational failures and data breaches.Furthermore,CPS faces significant threats related to unauthorized access, improper management, and tampering of the content it generates. In this paper,we propose an intrusion detection system(IDS)optimized for CPS environments using a hybrid approach by combining a natureinspired feature selection scheme, such as Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO),in connection with the emerging Light Gradient Boosting Machine(LightGBM)classifier, named as GWO-LightGBM.While gradient boosting methods have been explored in prior IDS research, our novelty lies in proposing a hybrid approach targeting CPS-specific operational constraints, such as low-latency response and accurate detection of rare and critical attack types. We evaluate GWO-LightGBM against GWO-XGBoost,GWO-CatBoost,and an artificial neural network(ANN)baseline using the NSL-KDD and CIC-IDS-2017 benchmark datasets. The proposed models are assessed across multiple metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score,with an emphasis on class-wise performance and training efficiency. The proposed GWO-LightGBM model achieves the highest overall accuracy(99.73%)for NSL-KDD and(99.61%)for CIC-IDS-2017,demonstrating superior performance in detecting minority classes such as Remote-to-Local(R2L)and Other attacks—commonly overlooked by other classifiers. Moreover, the proposed model consumes lower training time, highlighting its practical feasibility and scalability for real-time CPS deployment.

文摘Hydraulic control valves, positioned at the terminus of pipe networks, are critical for regulatingflow and pressure, thereby ensuring the operational safety and efficiency of pipeline systems. Moreover, substantial improvements in dynamic response are observed, confirming the effectiveness of the proposeddesign and optimization strategy.

文摘The Nelder-Mead simplex method is a well-known algorithm enabling the minimization of functions that are not available in closed-form and that need not be differentiable or convex.Furthermore,it is particularly parsimonious on the number of function evaluations, thus making it preferable to convex optimization paradigms in the case, common when dealing with control design problems, that the objective function of the optimization problem is non-differentiable,non-convex,and its closed-form is not available or difficult to be computed analytically. The main goal of this paper is to show how the joint use of the Nelder-Mead simplex method and the Morrison algorithm can be successfully used to solve relevant and challenging control problems that cannot be easily solved using analytic methods. In particular,it is shown how the problems of strong stabilization, static output feedback stabilization, and design of robust controllers having fixed structure can be framed as optimization problems, which,in turn, can be efficiently solved by coupling the two above mentioned algorithms. The performance of this procedure is compared with state-of-the-art techniques on dozens of static output feedback benchmark case studies, and its effectiveness is demonstrated by several examples.

文摘In view of the insufficient utilization of condition-monitoring information and the improper scheduling often observed in conventional maintenance strategies for photovoltaic(PV)modules, this study proposes a predictive maintenance(PdM)strategy based on Remaining Useful Life(RUL)estimation.First,a RUL prediction model is established using the Transformer architecture, which enables the effective processing of sequential degradation data.By employing the historical degradation data of PV modules, the proposed model provides accurate forecasts of the remaining useful life, thereby supplying essential inputs for maintenance decision-making.Subsequently,the RUL information obtained from the prediction process is integrated into the optimization of maintenance policies. An opposition-based learning Harris Hawks Optimization(OHHO)algorithm is introduced to jointly optimize two critical parameters:the maintenance threshold L,which specifies the degradation level at which maintenance should be performed, and the recovery factor r,which reflects the extent to which the system performance is restored after maintenance. The objective of this joint optimization is to minimize the overall operation and maintenance cost while maintaining system availability. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed PdM strategy. The results indicate that, compared with conventional corrective maintenance(CM)and periodic maintenance(PM)strategies, the RUL-driven PdM approach achieves a reduction in the average cost rate by approximately 20.7%and 17.9%,respectively,thereby demonstrating its potential effectiveness for practical PV maintenance applications.

文摘With the increasing complexity of logistics operations, traditional static vehicle routing models are no longer sufficient. In practice, customer demands often arise dynamically, and multi-depot systems are commonly used to improve efficiency. This paper first introduces a vehicle routing problem with the goal of minimizing operating costs in a multi-depot environment with dynamic demand.New customers appear in the delivery process at any time and are periodically optimized according to time slices. Then,we propose a scheduling system TS-DPU based on an improved ant colony algorithm TS-ACO to solve this problem. The classical ant colony algorithm uses spatial distance to select nodes, while TS-ACO considers the impact of both temporal and spatial distance on node selection.Meanwhile,we adopt Cordeau’s Multi-Depot Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows(MDVRPTW)dataset to evaluate the performance of our system.According to the experimental results,TS-ACO,which considers spatial and temporal distance,is more effective than the classical ACO,which only considers spatial distance.

文摘UAV-mounted intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)helps address the line-of-sight(LoS)blockage between sensor nodes(SNs)and the fusion center(FC)in Internet of Things(IoT).This paper considers an IoT assisted by multiple UAVs-mounted IRS(U-IRS),where the data from ground SNs are transmitted to the FC.In practice, energy efficiency(EE)and mission completion time are crucial metrics for evaluating system performance and operational costs.Recognizing their importance during data collection,we formulate a multi-objective optimization problem to maximize EE and minimize total mission completion time simultaneously. To characterize this tradeoff while considering optimization objective consistency,we construct an optimization problem that minimizes the weighted sum of the total mission completion time and the reciprocal of EE.Due to the non-convex nature of the formulated problem, obtaining optimal solutions is generally challenging. To tackle this issue,we decompose it into three subproblems:UAV-SN association, number of reflecting elements allocation, andUAVtrajectory optimization. An iterative algorithmcombining genetic algorithm,CS-BJ algorithm, and successive convex approximation technique is proposed to solve these sub-problems.Simulation results demonstrate that when the transmitted data amount is 10 and 30Mbits,compared to the static collection benchmark(the UAV hovers directly above each SN),the EE of the proposed method improves by more than 10.4% and 5.2%,while the total mission completion time is reduced by more than 5.4% and 3.3%,respectively.

文摘Trajectory tracking for nonlinear robotic systems remains a fundamental yet challenging problem in control engineering, particularly when both precision and efficiency must be ensured.Conventional control methods are often effective for stabilization but may not directly optimize long-term performance. To address this limitation, this study develops an integrated framework that combines optimal control principles with reinforcement learning for a single-link robotic manipulator. The proposed scheme adopts an actor–critic structure, where the critic network approximates the value function associated with the Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman equation, and the actor network generates near-optimal control signals in real time. This dual adaptation enables the controller to refine its policy online without explicit system knowledge.Stability of the closed-loop system is analyzed through Lyapunov theory, ensuring boundedness of the tracking error.Numerical simulations on the single-link manipulator demonstrate that themethod achieves accurate trajectory followingwhile maintaining lowcontrol effort. The results further showthat the actor–critic learning mechanism accelerates convergence of the control policy compared with conventional optimization-based strategies. This work highlights the potential of reinforcement learning integrated with optimal control for robotic manipulators and provides a foundation for future extensions to more complex multi-degree-of-freedom systems. The proposed controller is further validated in a physics-based virtual Gazebo environment, demonstrating stable adaptation and real-time feasibility.

文摘Existing feature selection methods for intrusion detection systems in the Industrial Internet of Things often suffer from local optimality and high computational complexity. These challenges hinder traditional IDS from effectively extracting features while maintaining detection accuracy. This paper proposes an industrial Internet ofThings intrusion detection feature selection algorithm based on an improved whale optimization algorithm(GSLDWOA).The aim is to address the problems that feature selection algorithms under high-dimensional data are prone to,such as local optimality, long detection time, and reduced accuracy.First, the initial population’s diversity is increased using the Gaussian Mutation mechanism.Then,Non-linear Shrinking Factor balances global exploration and local development, avoiding premature convergence.Lastly,Variable-step Levy Flight operator and Dynamic Differential Evolution strategy are introduced to improve the algorithm’s search efficiency and convergence accuracy in highdimensional feature space.Experiments on the NSL-KDD and WUSTL-IIoT-2021 datasets demonstrate that the feature subset selected by GSLDWOA significantly improves detection performance.Compared to the traditional WOA algorithm, the detection rate and F1-score increased by 3.68%and 4.12%.On the WUSTL-IIoT-2021 dataset, accuracy, recall, and F1-score all exceed 99.9%.

文摘To enhance the low-carbon economic efficiency and increase the utilization of renewable energy within integrated energy systems(IES),this paper proposes a low-carbon dispatch model integrating power-to-gas(P2G),carbon capture and storage(CCS),hydrogen fuel cell(HFC),and combined heat and power(CHP).The P2G process is refined into a two-stage structure, and HFC is introduced to enhance hydrogen utilization.Together with CCS and CHP,these devices form a multi-energy conversion system coupling electricity, heat, cooling, and gas.A laddertype carbon trading approach is adopted to flexibly manage carbon output by leveraging marginal cost adjustments. To evaluate the resilience of the proposed low-carbon scheduling strategy involving multiple energy units under the variability of renewable energy,a two-level robust optimization framework is developed. This model captures the most adverse scenarios of wind and solar generation. The dispatch strategy is validated against these extreme conditions to demonstrate its flexibility and effectiveness. The problem is solved using the GUROBI optimization tool. Results from simulations indicate that themodel increases renewable energy integration by 39.1%,and achieves reductions of 15.96%in carbon emissions and 16.29%in operational expenditures. The results demonstrate that the strategy ensures both economic efficiency and environmental performance under uncertain conditions.Compared with existing studies that separately model two-stage P2G or CCS devices, this paper integrates HFC,CHP,and CCS into a unified dispatchable system, enabling refined hydrogen utilization and flexible carbon circulation.Furthermore, the introduction of a laddertype carbon pricing mechanism, combined with multi-energy storage participation in implicit demand response, creates a dynamic and cost-sensitive dispatch framework. These modeling strategies go beyond conventional linear IES formulations and provide more realistic system representations. The proposed approach not only deepens the coupling among electric, thermal, and gas systems, but also offers a feasible pathway for high-penetration renewable integration in low-carbon energy systems.

文摘The advent of sixth-generation(6G)networks introduces unprecedented challenges in achieving seamless connectivity,ultra-low latency, and efficient resource management in highly dynamic environments.Although fifth-generation(5G)networks transformed mobile broadband and machine-type communications at massive scales, their properties of scaling, interference management, and latency remain a limitation in dense high mobility settings. To overcome these limitations, artificial intelligence(AI)and unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)have emerged as potential solutions to develop versatile, dynamic, and energy-efficient communication systems. The study proposes an AI-based UAV architecture that utilizes cooperative reinforcement learning(CoRL)to manage an autonomous network. The UAVs collaborate by sharing local observations and real-time state exchanges to optimize user connectivity, movement directions, allocate power, and resource distribution.Unlike conventional centralized or autonomous methods,CoRL involves joint state sharing and conflict-sensitive reward shaping, which ensures fair coverage, less interference, and enhanced adaptability in a dynamic urban environment.Simulations conducted in smart city scenarios with 10 UAVs and 50 ground users demonstrate that the proposed CoRL-based UAV system increases user coverage by up to 10%,achieves convergence 40%faster,and reduces latency and energy consumption by 30%compared with centralized and decentralized baselines.Furthermore, the distributed nature of the algorithm ensures scalability and flexibility, making it well-suited for future large-scale 6G deployments. The results highlighted that AI-enabled UAV systems enhance connectivity, support ultra-reliable low-latency communications(URLLC),and improve 6G network efficiency.Future work will extend the framework with adaptive modulation,beamforming-aware positioning, and real-world testbed deployment.

文摘Intervention strategies to control non-point source nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)pollution in agriculture are expensive and there is a trade-off between engineering cost and treatment effectiveness.Implementing strategies often result in unsatisfactory outcomes and massive engineering costs when managing diffusive pollution in agricultural catchments. To address this issue, this paper proposes a robust, handy, catchment N&P decision support system(CNPDSS),an Android-based smartphone system integrated with a web-based geographic information system(GIS).The CNPDSS aims to provide artificial intelligence-driven decisions that minimize N&P loadings and engineering costs for mitigating pollution in agricultural catchments. It consists of four components:a general user interface(GUI),GIS,N&P pollution modeling(NPPM),and a DSS.The CNPDSS simplifies the GUI and integrates GIS modules to create a user-friendly interface, enabling non-professional users to operate the system easily through intuitive actions. The NPPM uses straightforward empirical models to predict N&P loadings, enhancing efficiency by avoiding excessive parameters.Taking into account the N&P movement pathway in the catchment, the DSS incorporates three control measures:source reduction in farmland(before migration stage),process retention by ecological ditch(midway transport stage),and down-end purification by constructed wetland(waterbody discharge stage),to formulate a comprehensive ternary controlling strategy. To optimize the cost-effectiveness of any proposed N&P control strategies for sub-catchments,a differential evolution algorithm(DEA)is employed in CNPDSS to carry out a dual-objective decision-making optimization computation. In this study, the CNPDSS is applied to a case study in an agricultural catchment in Central China to develop the most cost-effective ternary N&P control strategies that ensure the catchment water quality within Criterion Ⅲ of the Chinese Surface Water Quality Standard GB3838-2002 is met(total N concentration≤1.0 mg L^(-1)and total P concentration≤0.2 mg L^(-1)).Our results demonstrate that the CNPDSS is feasible and also possesses an adaptive design and flexible architecture to enable its generalization and extension to support strong hands-on applications in other catchments.

文摘Fluid dynamic research on rectangular and trapezoidal fins is aimed at increasing heat transfer by means of large surfaces. The trapezoidal cavity form is compared with its thermal and flow performance, and it is revealed that trapezoidal fins tend to be more efficient, particularly when material optimization is critical.Motivated by the increasing need for sustainable energy management, this work analyses the thermal performance of inclined trapezoidal and rectangular porous fins utilising a unique hybrid nanofluid. The effectiveness of nanoparticles in a working fluid is primarily determined by their thermophysical properties;hence, optimising these properties can significantly improve overall performance. This study considers the dispersion of Graphene Oxide(GO)and Molybdenum Disulfide in the base fluid, engine oil.Temperature profiles are analysed by altering the radiative, porosity, wet porous, and angle of inclination parameters.Surface and contour plots are constructed by using the Lobatto IIIa Collocation Method with BVP5C solver in MATLAB and Gradient Descent Optimisation to predict the combined heat transfer rate.According to the study, fluid temperature consistently decreases when the angle of inclination, wet porous parameter, porosity parameter, and radiative parameter increase, suggesting significantly improved heat dissipation. The trapezoidal fin consistently exhibits a superior heat transfer mechanism than a rectangular fin.It is found that the trapezoidal fin transmits heat at a rate that is 0.05%higher than that of the rectangular fin.Validation of the present study is done through the comparison of previous studies. This research provides useful design insights for sophisticated engineering uses, including electrical cooling devices, heat exchangers, radiators, and solar heaters.
