When the system is in a healthy state, the output residual signal decays exponentially. Due to the existence of external disturbance, the residual is not zero in the state without fault. Therefore, we further design a reasonable threshold which is based on the upper bound of the residual dynamics and external disturbance to reduce the influence of external disturbance and determine whether the system fault occurs. The convergence properties of partial differential equation (PDE) observer and residual signal are analyzed by Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, the effectiveness of this fault diagnosis is illustrated by simulation and we can judge whether this overhead crane system fails by this fault diagnosis scheme.展开更多

A special propagation region, which is an island-shaped zone surrounded by the defect turbulence in the system parameter space, is observed in our numerical experiment. The wave signal spreads in the whole space with a novel amplitude wave pattern in the area. The relevant factors of the pattern formation, such as the wave speed, the maximum propagating distance and the oscillatory frequency, are studied in detail. The stability and the generality of the region are testified by adopting various initial conditions. This finding of the amplitude pattern extends the wave propagation region in the parameter space and presents a new signal transmission mode, and is therefore expected to be of much importance.展开更多

The field distribution and reflectance spectra are numerically calculated by the transverse magnetic method under transfer-matrix polarization, while the sensitivity is analyzed and compared with those of the surface plasmon resonance sensing method. It is found that the intensity of magnetic field is considerably enhanced in the region of the terminated layer of the multilayer stacks, and that BSW resonance appears only in the interface of the graphene and solution. Influences of the graphene layers and the thickness of a unit cell in Ph Cs on the reflectance are studied as well. In particular, by analyzing the performance of BSW sensors with the graphene monolayer, the wavelength sensitivity of the proposed sensor is 1040 nm/RIU whereas the angular sensitivity is 25.1°/RIU. In addition, the maximum of figure of merit can reach as high as 3000 RIU^-1. Thus, by integrating graphene in a simple Kretschmann structure, one can obtain an enhancement of the light–graphene interaction, which is prospective for creating label-free,low-cost and high-sensitivity optical biosensors.展开更多

From simulation and analysis, there are one, two, and three peak points on the first, second and third band gaps respectively with the changes of filling ratio un- der fixed dielectric constant ratio. When filling ratio is fixed, the bandwidth of the first band gap consistently increases with dielectric constant ratio. However, no similar trend is observed in the second and the third band gaps. Because of scaling properties, varying periodic width does not alter the relative bandwidth.展开更多

Line defects are created by the re- placement of PE or PM constituent layer. The defect modes existing in the first gap are considered and the influences on defect modes of the material properties and volume fraction of the defect layers, the type of incident waves, the location of defect layer and the number of structural layers are discussed in detail. Numerical results indicate that defect modes are the most obvious when the defect layers are inserted in the middle of the perfect PCs; the types of incidence wave and material properties of the defect layers have important effects on the numbers, the location of frequencies and the peaks of defect modes, and the defect modes are strongly de- pendent on volume fraction of the defect layers. We hope this paper will be found useful for the design of PE/PM acoustic filters or acoustic transducer with PCs structures.展开更多

文摘Bloch surface waves(BSWs) are excited in one-dimensional photonic crystals(Ph Cs) terminated by a graphene monolayer under the Kretschmann configuration. Thus, by integrating graphene in a simple Kretschmann structure, one can obtain an enhancement of the light–graphene interaction, which is prospective for creating label-free,low-cost and high-sensitivity optical biosensors.

文摘The head on collision between two opposite propagating solitary waves is studied in the present paper both numerically and analytically. The interesting result is that no phase shift is observed which is different from that found in other branches of physics. It is found that the maximum amplitude in the process of the head on collision is close to the linear sum of two colliding solitary waves.

文摘A theoretical analysis is made, using plane wave expansion, on how the width of the first three band gaps is influenced by filling ratio, dielectric constant ratio, and periodic width in one-dimensional photonic crystals (PhCs). Because of scaling properties, varying periodic width does not alter the relative bandwidth.

文摘Using a stiffness matrix method, we in- vestigate the propagation behaviors of elastic waves in one-dimensional (1D) piezoelectric/piezomagnetic (PE/PM) phononic crystals (PCs) with line defects by calculating energy reflection/transmittion coefficients of quasi-pressure and quasi-shear waves. We hope this paper will be found useful for the design of PE/PM acoustic filters or acoustic transducer with PCs structures.
