The aim of this study is to investigate CO2 two-phase nozzle flow in terms of both experimental and analytical aspects for the optimum design of two-phase flow nozzle of CO2 two-phase flow ejector. In the experiment, it is measured that the temperature profile in the stream-wise direction of a divergent-convergent nozzle through which CO2 in the supercritical pressure condition is blown down into the atmosphere. In the analysis, a one-dimensional model which assumes steady, adiabatic, frictionless, and equilibrium is proposed. In the convergent part of the nozzle the flow is treated as single-phase flow of liquid, whereas in the divergent part the flow is treated as separated two-phase flow with saturated condition. The analytical results indicate that the temperature and the pressure decrease rapidly in the divergent part, and the void fraction increases immediately near the throat. Although this analysis is quite simple, the analytical results can follow the experimental results well within this study. 展开更多

In sub nanometer carbon nanotubes, water exhibits unique dynamic characteristics, and in the high-frequency region of the infrared spectrum, where the stretching vibrations of the internal oxygen-hydrogen(O-H)bonds are closely related to the hydrogen bonds(H-bonds)network between water molecules. Therefore,it is crucial to analyze the relationship between these two aspects. In this paper, the infrared spectrum and motion characteristics of the stretching vibrations of the O-H bonds in one-dimensional confined water(1DCW)and bulk water(BW)in(6,6)single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNT)are studied by molecular dynamics simulations. The results show that the stretching vibrations of the two O-H bonds in 1DCW exhibit different frequencies in the infrared spectrum, while the O-H bonds in BW display two identical main frequency peaks.Further analysis using the spring oscillator model reveals that the difference in the stretching amplitude of the O-H bonds is the main factor causing the change in vibration frequency, where an increase in stretching amplitude leads to a decrease in spring stiffness and, consequently,a lower vibration frequency.A more in-depth study found that the interaction of H-bonds between water molecules is the fundamental cause of the increased stretching amplitude and decreased vibration frequency of the O-H bonds. Finally,by analyzing the motion trajectory of the H atoms, the dynamic differences between 1DCW and BW are clearly revealed. These findings provide a new perspective for understanding the behavior of water molecules at the nanoscale and are of significant importance in advancing the development of infrared spectroscopy detection technology. 展开更多

An analytical model for describing the charged-particle transport in a wall-confined laser-induced decaying plasma is established under an external electrostatic field, focusing on the effects of the initial plasma-electrode gap(IPEG)that exists in applications such as laser isotope separation. This newly developed analytical model is validated by particle-in-cell simulations and the experimental scaling relation, and can also be reduced to its previously published counterpart that did not consider IPEGs.Based on this analytical model, the influences of different IPEG spacings on the characteristics of the whole ion extraction process are studied. The results show that the ion extraction ratios at the endpoints of the first and second stages both decrease with increasing IPEG spacing, while the corresponding time durations for the first two stages show a non-monotonous variation trend. The specific ion extraction time, defined as the ion extraction time per unit mass to comprehensively characterize the ion extraction efficiency, increases generally with the increase of IPEG spacing. This study not only provides further insight into the fundamental physical processes in a wall-bounded decaying plasma under an externally applied electrostatic field, but also offers useful theoretical guidance for optimal designs of geometrical and operating parameters in laser isotope separation processes. 展开更多

In this paper,we investigate the interfacial behavior of a thin,penny-shaped,one-dimensional(1D)hexagonal functionally graded(FG)piezoelectric quasicrystal(PQC)film bonded on a temperature-dependent elastic substrate under thermal and electrical loads. The problem is modeled as axisymmetric based on the membrane theory, with the peeling stress and bending moment being disregarded.A potential theory method, combined with the Hankel transform technique,is utilized to derive the displacement field on the substrate surface. With perfect interfacial bonding assumption,an integral equation governing the phonon interfacial shear stress is formulated and numerically solved by the Chebyshev polynomials.Explicit expressions are derived for the interfacial shear stress, the internal stresses within the PQC film and the substrate, the axial strain, and the stress intensity factors(SIFs).Numerical simulations are conducted to investigate the effects of the film's aspect ratio, material inhomogeneity, material mismatch, and temperature-dependent material properties on its mechanical response. The results provide insights for the functional design and reliability assessment of FG PQC film/substrate systems. 展开更多

The one-dimensional calculation of the gas/particle flows of a supersonic two-stage high-velocity oxy-fuel(HVOF) thermal spray process was performed. The internal gas flow was solved by numerically integrating theequations of the quasi-one-dimensional flow including the effects of pipe friction and heat transfer. As for the supersonicjet flow, semi-empirical equations were used to obtain the gas velocity and temperature along the centerline. The velocity and temperature of the particle were obtained by an one-way coupling method. The material ofthe spray particle selected in this study is ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The temperaturedistributions in the spherical UHMWPE particles of 50 and 150 m accelerated and heated by the supersonic gasflow was clarified. 展开更多

Border-associated macrophages are located at the interface between the brain and the periphery, including the perivascular spaces, choroid plexus, and meninges. Until recently, the functions of border-associated macrophages have been poorly understood and largely overlooked. However, a recent study reported that border-associated macrophages participate in stroke-induced inflammation, although many details and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we performed a comprehensive single-cell analysis of mouse border-associated macrophages using sequencing data obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO) database(GSE174574 and GSE225948). Differentially expressed genes were identified, and enrichment analysis was performed to identify the transcription profile of border-associated macrophages. CellChat analysis was conducted to determine the cell communication network of border-associated macrophages. Transcription factors were predicted using the ‘pySCENIC' tool. We found that, in response to hypoxia, borderassociated macrophages underwent dynamic transcriptional changes and participated in the regulation of inflammatory-related pathways. Notably, the tumor necrosis factor pathway was activated by border-associated macrophages following ischemic stroke. The pySCENIC analysis indicated that the activity of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(Stat3) was obviously upregulated in stroke, suggesting that Stat3 inhibition may be a promising strategy for treating border-associated macrophages-induced neuroinflammation. Finally, we constructed an animal model to investigate the effects of border-associated macrophages depletion following a stroke. Treatment with liposomes containing clodronate significantly reduced infarct volume in the animals and improved neurological scores compared with untreated animals. Taken together, our results demonstrate comprehensive changes in border-associated macrophages following a stroke, providing a theoretical basis for targeting border-associated macrophages-induced neuroinflammation in stroke treatment. 展开更多

A symmetrical one-dimensional(1D)photonic crystal structure with a Dirac-emimetal-defected layer is proposed. The material properties of the Dirac semimetal are governed by three key parameters:Fermi level,Fermi velocity, and degeneracy factor.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed structure generates multiple photonic bandgaps within the THz frequency range. In the low-THz region, pronounced resonant transmission peaks emerge, enabling near-perfect filtering performance. The positions of these defect modes can be dynamically tuned by adjusting the Fermi level and degeneracy factor. In mid-and high-THz frequency bands, the Dirac semimetal begins to exhibit metallic behavior, leading to attenuation of the transmission peaks and the appearance of absorption. The elevation of the Fermi level delays the critical threshold for the transition from the dielectric state to the metallic state, while an increase in Fermi velocity suppresses metallic behavior. Therefore, enhancing both the Fermi level and Fermi velocity contributes to strengthening the defect peak intensity.Conversely, increasing the degeneracy factor strengthens the metallic characteristics, thereby disrupting the high-frequency photonic bandgap.Notably, the defect layer thickness and incident angle exert significant influence on the transmission behavior:a larger incident angle causes the defect peak to shift toward higher frequencies and reduces its intensity, whereas a thicker defect layer shifts the defect peak toward lower frequencies. The modulation effects of both parameters become more pronounced as frequency increases.Compared with conventional photonic crystals, our work can provide a tunable structure over transmission properties, offering novel strategies for designing tunable filters and optical sensors. 展开更多

The Savitzky-Golay(SG)filter,which employs polynomial least-squares approximations to smooth data and estimate derivatives,is widely used for processing noisy data. However, noise suppression by the SG filter is recognized to be limited at data boundaries and high frequencies, which can significantly reduce the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).To solve this problem,a novel method synergistically integrating Principal Component Analysis(PCA)with SG filtering is proposed in this paper. This approach avoids the is-sue of excessive smoothing associated with larger window sizes. The proposed PCA-SG filtering algorithm was applied to a CO gas sensing system based on Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy(CRDS).The perform-ance of the PCA-SG filtering algorithm is demonstrated through comparison with Moving Average Filtering(MAF),Wavelet Transformation(WT),Kalman Filtering(KF),and the SG filter. The results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm exhibits superior noise reduction capabilities compared to the other algorithms evaluated. The SNR of the ring-down signal was improved from 11.8612 dB to 29.0913 dB,and the stand-ard deviation of the extracted ring-down time constant was reduced from 0.037μs to 0.018μs.These results confirm that the proposed PCA-SG filtering algorithm effectively improves the smoothness of the ring-down curve data, demonstrating its feasibility. 展开更多

[Objective]This study aims to investigate the multi-body hydrodynamic interaction mechanisms during offshore lifting operations of aquaculture net cages in wind-fishery integration systems.By integrating numerical simulations and dynamic analysis methods, this study systematically investigates the coupled dynamic response characteristics during the cage-carrier vessel separation process to reveal its dynamic evolution patterns and key influence mechanisms.[Method]Based on potential flow theory,a fully coupled dynamic analysis model of crane vessel-net cage-semi-submersible barge was established for a marine ranch project in Guangdong. The complete lifting process was dynamically simulated using SESAM software.Five typical operating sea states were configured to investigate the influence of wave parameters on the system's motion response under combined wave-current-wind actions.[Result]The results demonstrate that wave period dominates the system stability.Under short-period conditions, the system maintains stable motion with relatively small horizontal relative displacements, while long-period conditions excite low-frequency resonance, leading to significant slow-drift motions.Vertical response analysis reveals that long-period waves cause severe relative displacement fluctuations between the cage and semi-submersible vessel, with actual displacement amplitudes doubling the preset safety target of 2.045 m.Quantitative analysis further indicates that when significant wave height increases from 1.0 m to 1.5 m,the actual displacement amplitude increases by approximately 20%relative to the target displacement of 2.045 m,demonstrating that its influence is significantly weaker than the displacement variations induced by wave period changes. The complete dynamic simulation successfully captures the continuous dynamic response characteristics during the lifting process.[Conclusion]This research clarifies the influence mechanisms of wave parameters on the cage lifting process, identifying wave period as the crucial factor for operational safety. An operation window assessment method incorporating multi-body coupling effects is established, proposing a safety criterion with peak period not exceeding six seconds as the core requirement. The findings provide theoretical foundation for safe installation of marine ranch net cages and offer valuable references for similar offshore lifting operations. 展开更多

The sulfation and decomposition process has proven effective in selectively extracting lithium from lepidolite. It is essential to clarify the thermochemical behavior and kinetic parameters of decomposition reactions.Accordingly, comprehensive kinetic study by employing thermalgravimetric analysis at various heating rates was presented in this paper. Two main weight loss regions were observed during heating. The initial region corresponded to the dehydration of crystal water, whereas the subsequent region with overlapping peaks involved complex decomposition reactions. The overlapping peaks were separated into two individual reaction peaks and the activation energy of each peak was calculated using isoconversional kinetics methods. The activation energy of peak 1 exhibited a continual increase as the reaction conversion progressed, while that of peak 2 steadily decreased. The optimal kinetic models, identified as belonging to the random nucleation and subsequent growth category, provided valuable insights into the mechanism of the decomposition reactions.Furthermore, the adjustment factor was introduced to reconstruct the kinetic mechanism models, and the reconstructed models described the kinetic mechanism model more accurately for the decomposition reactions. This study enhanced the understanding of the thermochemical behavior and kinetic parameters of the lepidolite sulfation product decomposition reactions, further providing theoretical basis for promoting the selective extraction of lithium. 展开更多

Underground hydrogen storage has gained interest in recent years due to the enormous demand for clean energy.Hydrogen is more diffusive than air, with a smaller density and lower viscosity. These unique properties introduce distinctive hydrodynamic phenomena in hydrogen storage, one of which is fingering.Fingering could induce the fluid trapped in small clusters of pores, leading to a dramatic decrease in hydrogen saturation and a lower recovery rate.In this study, numerical simulations are performed at the microscopic scale to understand the evolution of hydrogen saturation and the impacts of injection and withdrawal cycles. Two sets of micromodels with different porosity(0.362 and 0.426)and minimum sizes of pore throats(0.362 mm and 0.181 mm)are developed in the numerical model.A parameter analysis is then conducted to understand the influence of injection velocity(in the range of 10^(-2)m/s to 10^(-5)m/s)and porous structure on the fingering pattern, followed by an image analysis to capture the evolution of the fingering pattern.Viscous fingering, capillary fingering, and crossover fingering are observed and identified under different boundary conditions. The fractal dimension, specific area, mean angle, and entropy of fingers are proposed as geometric descriptors to characterize the shape of the fingering pattern. When porosity increases from 0.362 to 0.426,the saturation of hydrogen increases by 26.2%.Narrower pore throats elevate capillary resistance, which hinders fluid invasion. These results underscore the importance of pore structures and the interaction between viscous and capillary forces for hydrogen recovery efficiency. This work illuminates the influence of the pore structures and the fluid properties on the immiscible displacement of hydrogen and can be further extended to optimize the injection strategy of hydrogen in underground hydrogen storage. 展开更多

Rock slope instability is a prevalent geological hazard that imposes significant adverse impacts on engineering activities.Although existing studies have focused on homogeneous rock slopes, the theoretical models for quantifying the stability of softhard interbedded anti-inclined slopes remain underdeveloped, primarily due to the complex force transfer mechanisms involved. This study proposed a novel theoretical model for the stability analysis of soft-hard interbedded anti-inclined slopes under rainfall conditions. The framework models stratified rock layers as layered cantilever beams with material heterogeneity.Based on the principle of deformation compatibility,it comprehensively accounted for interlayer force transfer and strength degradation resulting from differential deformations among rock layers.Furthermore,it integrated the critical instability length induced by the self-weight of rock layers to determine the fracture depth. The proposed method was validated against engineering case studies and physical model tests, with error falling within an acceptable range.Compared to existing theoretical methods, the proposed method provided a more realistic representation of the slope's stress field. The analysis results demonstrate that rainfall not only reduces the inclination angle of the failure surface but also leads to an approximate 30%decrease in the safety factor. The proposed theoretical model is particularly useful for quickly calculating the stability of soft-hard interbedded anti-inclined rock slope under rainfall conditions, compared to complex and time-consuming numerical simulation calculations. 展开更多

For red pear, the anthocyanin content is a crucial factor determining the fruit skin color, which affects consumer preferences.Low overnight temperatures promote anthocyanin accumulation, but the molecular mechanism responsible is unclear. In this study,‘Hongzaosu’pear(Pyrus pyrifolia×Pyrus communis)fruit were treated with a low nighttime temperature(LNT,16℃)or a warm nighttime temperature(WNT,26℃),with sampling conducted within two diurnal cycles. The results showed that LNT promoted anthocyanin accumulation in the fruit skin. The structural anthocyanin biosynthetic genes PpCHS,PpF3H,and PpUFGT exhibited a rhythmic increase in expression at night under LNT.To examine the underlying mechanism,RNA sequencing was conducted using pear calli exposed to LNT and WNT for different durations(24,48,72,or 96 h).Transcriptome analysis revealed 285 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)common to all pairwise comparisons of LNT-and WNT-treated calli of‘Clapp's Favorite’(P.communis)at the sampling time points.KEGG pathway and gene ontology enrichment analyses indicated that the common DEGs were enriched in secondary metabolic processes and phenylpropanoid metabolic processes, which are associated with anthocyanin biosynthesis. The transcription factor PpCDF5,which was responsive to LNT,was selected for further study.Dual-luciferase assays showed that PpCDF5 activated the transcription of anthocyanin biosynthetic genes PpMYB10,PpCHS,PpF3H,PpDFR,PpANS,and PpUFGT.The yeast one-hybrid and EMSA assays demonstrated that PpCDF5 directly binds to the PpF3H promoter, which contains an AAAG motif.Overexpression of PpCDF5 in pear calli and transient overexpression in pear fruit both increased anthocyanin accumulation. The results indicate that PpCDF5 is involved in LNT-induced anthocyanin biosynthesis in pear fruit and provide insights into the molecular regulation of commercial fruit coloration. 展开更多

Multichannel signals have the characteristics of information diversity and information consistency. To better explore and utilize the affinity relationship within multichannel signals,a new graph learning technique based on low rank tensor approximation is proposed for multichannel monitoring signal processing and utilization.Firstly, the affinity relationship of multichannel signals can be acquired based on the clustering results of each channel signal.Wherein an affinity tensor is constructed to integrate the diverse and consistent information of the clustering information among multichannel signals.Secondly,a low-rank tensor optimization model is built and the joint affinity matrix is optimized with the assistance of the strong confidence affinity matrix.Through solving the optimization model, the fused affinity relationship graph of multichannel signals can be obtained. Finally, the multichannel fused clustering results can be acquired though the updated joint affinity relationship graph. The multichannel signal utilization examples in health state assessment with public datasets and microwave detection with actual echoes verify the advantages and effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多
