The traditional method only focuses on the consistency of output response. It is not able to meet the needs of increasing development of electronic products. This paper researches the state of related fields and proposes a method of multi-objective reliability tolerance design. The characteristics of output response and operating stresses on critical components are both defined as design objectives. Critical components and their operating stresses are determined by failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and fault tree analysis (FTA). Sensitivity analysis is carried out to determine sensitive parameters that affect the design objectives significantly. Monte Carlo and worst-case analysis are utilized to explore the tolerance levels of sensitive parameters. Design of experiment and regression analysis are applied in this method. The optimal tolerance levels are selected in accord with a quality-cost model to improve consistency of output response and reduce failure rates of critical components synchronously. The application in light-emitting diode (LED) drivers indicates details and potential. It shows that the proposed method provides a more effective way to improve performance and reliability of electronic circuits.展开更多

Testability analysis, when done early in the software creation process, is a criterion of critical importance to software quality. Reusability is an important quality factor to testability. Its early measurement in object oriented software especially at design phase, allows a design to be reapplied to a new problem without much extra effort. This research paper proposes a research framework for quantification process and does an extensive review on reusability of object oriented software. A metrics based model “Reusability Quantification of Object Oriented Design” has been proposed by establishing the relationship among design properties and reusability and justifying the correlation with the help of statistical measures. Also, “Reusability Quantification Model” is empirically validated and contextual significance of the study shows the high correlation for model acceptance. This research paper facilitates to software developers and designer, the inclusion of reusability quantification model to access and quantify software reusability for quality product.展开更多

However, existing CAD modeling systems are not capable of providing enough information for subsequent manufacturing activities such as CAPP and CAM. A new design approach using feature technique and object oriented programming method is put forward in this paper in order to create the product information model of welding structure. With this approach, the product information model is able to effectively support computer aided welding process planning, fixturing, assembling, path planning of welding robot and other manufacturing activities. The feature classification and representing scheme of welding structure are discussed. A prototype system is developed based on feature and object oriented programming. Its structure and functions are given in detail.展开更多
