Based on this technique, a new-type jet-flow pyrolysis reactor was designed, and then the fluid dynamics (pressure and velocity) inside the reactor was numerically simulated using a computational fluid dynamics method. The self-produced pressure (p) and the fuel inlet velocity (v) satisfied a quadratic function,p=0.06v2+0.23v?4.49. To fully utilize the combustion-generated heat in pyrolysis of rare earth chloride, an appropriate external pressure p=v2+3v?4.27 should be imposed at the feed inlet. The 1.25- and 1.5-fold increase of feed inlet diameter resulted in decline of adsorption dynamic pressure, but the intake of rare earth chloride increased by more than 30% and 60%, respectively. The fluid flow in the reactor was affected by the feeding rate; the fluid flow peaked near the throat of venturi and gradually smoothed down at the jet-flow reactor’s terminal along with the sharp decline of feeding rate.展开更多

Two sets of boundary conditions (BCs) axe analyzed, i.e., a constant (Case 1) and a linear streamwise variation of nanopaxticle volume fraction and wall temperature (Case 2). The governing equations and BCs axe reduced to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and the corresponding BCs, respectively. The dependencies of solutions on Prandtl number Pr, Lewis number Le, Brownian motion number Nb, and thermophoresis number Nt are studied in detail. The results show that the reduced Nusselt number and the reduced Sherwood number increase for the BCs of Case 2 compared with Case 1. The increases of Nb, Nt, and Le numbers cause a decrease of the reduced Nusselt number, while the reduced Sherwood number increases with the increase of Nb and Le numbers. For low Prandtl numbers, an increase of Nt number can cause to decrease in the reduced Sherwood number, while it increases for high Prandtl numbers.展开更多

This theory, with its assumptions, leads to a partial differential equation of second order in space and first order in time of pore water pressure. Analytical and numerical resolutions of this equation allow determining the water pressure variation before and after the application of a charge. Numerical modeling has enabled the simulation of the whole results obtained by the two methods of resolution (pressure, degree of consolidation, time factor, among others) to have a physical analysis and a lawful observation that lead to a suitable understanding of the phenomenon of Terzaghi one-dimensional consolidation.展开更多

The rate constants and the amplitudes associated with the growth process of the photoinduced birefringence are observed to display a linear dependence with the pump beam intensity. A new dynamic model of the photoinduced birefringence is presented taking into account the contributions of both the bans and cis isomers of azobenzene groups and the local polymer segments. The numerical treatment of this model shows good agreement with the experimental data in the whole writing-erasing processes of the photoinduced birefringence conducted in our polymer samples.
文摘Practical resolution of consolidation problems that we often face requires an extensive and solid knowledge of the different parameters highlighted by the Terzaghi one-dimensional consolidation theory. This theory, with its assumptions, leads to a partial differential equation of second order in space and first order in time of pore water pressure. Analytical and numerical resolutions of this equation allow determining the water pressure variation before and after the application of a charge. Numerical modeling has enabled the simulation of the whole results obtained by the two methods of resolution (pressure, degree of consolidation, time factor, among others) to have a physical analysis and a lawful observation that lead to a suitable understanding of the phenomenon of Terzaghi one-dimensional consolidation.

文摘A numerical solution of the weight function for a two-electrode electromagnetic flowmeter was proposed. The solution was obtained by using the finite element method based on the basic equation of a traditional two-electrode electromagnetic flowmeter. The two-dimensional distribution of the weight function of the electromagnetic flowmeter obtained was verified by the analytical solution. Three-dimensional distribution of the weight function was also presented in the paper. It can be employed to analyze the sensitivity and linearity of the electromagnetic flowmeter with non-uniform magnetic field, and even to assist the design of the excitation coil pair.
