The linear simulation method is transformed based on a Hermite transformation model where the transformation is chosen to be a monotonic cubic polynomial and calibrated such that the first four moments of the transformed model match the moments of the true process. The proposed new approach is applied for calculating the wave trough distributions of a nonlinear sea state with the surface elevation data measured at the coast of Yura in the Japan Sea, and its accuracy and efficiency are convincingly validated by comparisons with the results from two theoretical distribution models, from a linear simulation model and a secondorder nonlinear simulation model. Finally, it is further demonstrated in this paper that the new approach can be applied to all the situations characterized by similar nondimensional spectrum.展开更多

The whole computational region Omega is divided into two subregions. In the near-field around a structure, Omega(2), the flow is governed by 2-D Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equations with a turbulence closure model of k-epsilon equations and numerically solved by the improved VOF method; whereas in the subregion Omega(1) (Omega(1) = Omega - Omega(2)) the flow is governed by one-D Boussinesq equations and numerically solved with the predictor-corrector algorithm. The velocity and the wave surface elevation are matched on the common boundary of the two subregions. Numerical tests have been conducted for the case of wave propagation and interaction with a wave barrier. It is shown that the composite model can help perform efficient computation of nonlinear waves in a large region with the complicated flow fields near structures taken into account.展开更多

The influence on nonlinear vibration with flexible rotor, bearing backlash is analyzed based on a virtual prototype. To validate the virtual prototype of nonlinear gear transmission system, the corresponding test platform is established. The consistency between simulation results and test results proves that the simulation results of the virtual prototype can be used to calculate the fatigue reliability life of key components. A new kind of fatigue reliability life prediction method of gear system considering multi-random parameter distribution is put forward based on the fativipatistic theory. Considering the periodicity of gear meshing, linear interpolation method is adopted to obtain the stress-time course of random load spectrum based on the gear's complicated torque provided by virtual prototype. The gear's P-Sa-Sm-N curved cluster can be simulated based on material's P-S-N curve. This method can provide the distribution function and the interval of fatigue reliability life of gear's danger region, and has a guide meaning for the gear maintenance periods determination and reliability evaluation.展开更多

The comparisons between the numerical results and linear theoretical results corresponding to Eq.(5) have been carried out to show that the numerical results have a better exhibition of nonlinear characteristics. Wavelet analysis method has been adopted to investigate the time-frequency energy spectrum of simulation freak waves and the results reveal strong nonlinear interaction enables energy to be transferred to high harmonics during the progress of its formation. Varying water depth can enhance the nonlinear interaction, making much more energy be transferred to high harmonics and freak waves with higher asymmetry be generated.展开更多

The velocity potentials at each time step are obtained through the FEM with 8-node quadratic shape functions. The finite element linear system is solved by the conjugate gradient (CG) method with a symmetric successive overelaxlation (SSOR) preconditioner. We determined the amplitude of the wave components of the focused wave group based on the JONSWAP wave spectrum. We discuss the effects of the presence of a surface-piercing structure on the characteristics of the focused wave group and find that the location of the structure does not evidently change the focal location or focal time of the focused wave group. The largest amplitudes of the run-up and horizontal force on the structure occur when the front surface of the structure is at the focal location. The critical draught and breadth of the structure occur when the wave run-up reaches its maximum along the structure.展开更多

For this method, the shear modulus and damping ratio of inelastic soil are supposed to be frequency independent. However, historical earthquake records and laboratory test results indicate that nonlinear soil behavior is frequency- dependent. Several frequency-dependent equivalent linear methods (FDEQL) related to the Fourier amplitude of shear strain time history have been developed to take into account the frequency-dependent soil behavior. Furthermore, the shear strain threshold plays an important role in soil behavior. For shear strains below the elastic shear strain threshold, soil behaves essentially as a linear elastic mate- rial. To consider the effect of elastic-shear-strain-threshold- and frequency-dependent soil behavior on wave propaga- tion, the shear-strain-threshold- and frequency-dependent equivalent linear method (TFDEQL) is proposed. A series of analyses is implemented for EQL, FDEQL, and TFDEQL methods. Results show that elastic-shear-strain-threshold- and frequency-dependent soil behavior plays a great influence on the computed site response, especially for the high- frequency band. Also, the effect of elastic-strain-threshold- and frequency-dependent soil behavior on the site response is analyzed from relatively weak to strong input motion, and results show that the effect is more pronounced as input motion goes from weak to strong.展开更多

In this study, a fourteen-dimensional nonlinear dynamic system is presented to describe the continuous culture and multiplicity analysis, in which two regulated negative-feedback mechanisms of repression and enzyme inhibition are investigated. The model describing the expression of gene-mRNA-enzyme-product was established according to the repression of the dha regulon by 3-hydroxypropionaldehy (3-HPA). Comparisons between simulated and experimental results indicate that the model can be used to describe the production of 1,3-PD under continuous fermentation. The new model is translated into the corresponding S-system version. The robustness of this model is discussed by using the S-system model and the sensitivity analysis shows that the model is sufficiently robust. The influences of initial glycerol concentration and dilution rate on the biosynthesis of 1,3-PD and the stability of the dha regulon model are investigated. The intracellular concentrations of glycerol, 1,3-PD, 3-HPA, repressor mRNA, repressor, mRNA and protein levels of glycerol dehydratase (GDHt) and 1,3-PD oxydoreductase (PDOR) can be predicted for continuous cultivation. The results of simulation and analysis indicate that 3-HPA accumulation will repress the expression of the dha regulon at the transcriptional level. This model gives new insights into the regulation of glycerol metabolism in K. pneumoniae and explain some of the experimental observations.展开更多

Comparisons are made in several cases with the results obtained from the second order solution in the time domain. It is found that the wave amplitude in the middle region of the array is larger than those in other places, and the hydrodynamic force on a cylinder increases with the cylinder closing to the middle of the array.
文摘Presents a phase compensation against the signal distortion mainly caused by TWTA to solve the problem of compensation and modelling of a nonlinear QPSK satellite channel assumed to be bandlimited and exhibit both amplitude and phase nonlinearities, and to lower the bit error probability of nonlinear channel, and concludes with simulation results that the compensation against phase distortion of TWTA can significantly improve the nonlinear performance of the channel.

文摘In this study, we numerically investigated the nonlinear focused wave group action on a truncated surface-piercing structure, and developed a two-dimensional fully nonlinear numerical tank using the higher-order boundary element method. The critical draught and breadth of the structure occur when the wave run-up reaches its maximum along the structure.

文摘A one-dimensional equivalent linear method (EQL) is widely used in estimating seismic ground response. Also, the effect of elastic-strain-threshold- and frequency-dependent soil behavior on the site response is analyzed from relatively weak to strong input motion, and results show that the effect is more pronounced as input motion goes from weak to strong.

文摘Glycerol may be converted to 1,3-propanediol (1,3-PD) by Klebsiella pneumoniae under anaerobic conditions and glycerol dismutation involves two parallel pathways controlled by the dha regulon. This model gives new insights into the regulation of glycerol metabolism in K. pneumoniae and explain some of the experimental observations.
