In this paper, we propose a control technique for PDF shape of the state variable in nonlinear stochastic systems. Firstly, we derive and prove the form of the controller by investigating the Fokker-PlanckKolmogorov(FPK) equation arising from the stochastic system. Secondly, an approach for getting approximate solution of the FPK equation is provided. A special function including some parameters is taken as the approximate stationary solution of the FPK equation. We use nonlinear least square method to solve the parameters in the function, and capture the approximate solution of the FPK equation. Substituting the approximate solution into the form of the controller, we can acquire the PDF shape controller. Lastly, some example simulations are conducted to verify the algorithm.展开更多

The Lie brackets generated by the vector fields which define the nonlinear system represent a remarkable mathematical instrument for the control of affine systems. We determine the optimal control which corresponds to the nilpotent operator of the first order. In particular, we obtain the control that minimizes the energy of the given nonlinear system. Applications of this control to bilinear systems with first order nilpotent operator are considered.展开更多

The nonlinear control is based on a Control Lyapunov Function (CLF) technique. The proposed stabilizing feedback law for the IPMSM drive is a damping control method and is shown to be globally asymptotically stable. The CLF method takes the system nonlinearities into account in the control system design stage. Such nonlinearities are due to the cross coupling between the q and the q currents in addition to the system parameters like the inductances and the flux linkages. The complete IPMSM drive incorporating the proposed CLF has been successfully simulated in a plant model for both motor and inverter. The performance of the proposed drive is investigated in simulation at different operating conditions. It is found that the proposed control technique provides a good torque control performance for the IPMSM drive ensuring the global stability. In later work, we are planning to investigate other phenomena such as magnetic saturation, nonlinear loads, mechanical friction and flexibilities.展开更多

Many previous works for hydraulic force control are based on their linearization equations, but hydraulic inherent nonlinear properties and uncertainties make the conven- tional feedback proportional-integral-derivative control not yield to high-performance requirements. In this paper, a nonlinear system model is derived and linear parameterization is made for adaptive control. Then a discontinuous projection-based nonlin- ear adaptive robust force controller is developed for hydraulic load simulator. The proposed controller constructs an asymptoti- cally stable adaptive controller and adaptation laws, which can compensate for the system nonlinearities and uncertain parame- ters. Meanwhile a well-designed robust controller is also developed to cope with the hydraulic system uncertain nonlinearities. The controller achieves a guaranteed transient performance and final tracking accuracy in the presence of both parametric uncer- tainties and uncertain nonlinearities; in the absence of uncertain nonlinearities, the scheme also achieves asymptotic tracking performance. Simulation and experiment comparative results are obtained to verify the high-performance nature of the proposed control strategy and the tracking accuracy is greatly improved.展开更多

Firstly, a novel approach to train the RBF is introduced, which employs an adaptive fuzzy generalized learning vector quantization (AFGLVQ) technique and recursive least squares algorithm with variable forgetting factor (VRLS). The AFGLVQ adjusts the centers of the RBF while the VRLS updates the connection weights of the network. The identification algorithm has the properties of rapid convergence and persistent adaptability that make it suitable for real-time control. Secondly, on the basis of the one-step ahead RBF predictor, the control law is optimized iteratively through a numerical stable Davidon's least squares-based (SDLS) minimization approach. The parameters of the fuzzy rules are tuned with adaptive schemes. To attenuate chattering effectively, the discontinuous control term is approximated by an adaptive PI control structure. The bound of the discontinuous control term is assumed to be unknown and estimated by an adaptive mechanism. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, an adaptive repetitive control law is proposed to guarantee the closed-loop stability and the tracking performance. By means of FBFNs, which avoid the nonlinear parameterization from entering into the adaptive repetitive control, the controller singularity problem is solved. The proposed approach does not require an exact structure of the system dynamics, and the proposed controller is utilized to control a model of permanent-magnet linear synchronous motor subject to significant disturbances and parameter uncertainties. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.展开更多

The paper starts by discussing the Duffing oscillator which features a second order non-linear differential equation describing complex motion whereas the second model is the Van der Pol oscillator with non-linear damping. A first order actuator is added to both models to expand on the chaotic behavior of the oscillators.
