We evaluate the interferences among users by use of distances between row spaces spanned by users’ channel matrixes, then control frequency sharing according to the compatible user grouping algorithm. Results show that the row space distance algorithm outperforms others because it can fully utilize the information from users’ channel matrixes, especially the matrix structure information. The results also prove that the algorithm based on channel matrix structure analysis is a better candidate for spatial compatibility approximation.展开更多

Thus, the problem in MU-OFDM system is the adaptive allocation of the resources(subcarriers, bits and power) to different users subject to several restrictions to maximize the total system capacity. In this work, a proposed subcarrier allocation algorithm was presented to assign the subcarriers with highest channel gain to the users. After the subcarrier allocation, subcarrier gain-based power allocation(SGPA) was employed for power and bit loading. The simulation results show that the proposed subcarrier-power allocation scheme can achieve high total system capacity and good fairness in allocating the resources to the users with slightly high computational complexity compared to the existing subcarrier allocation algorithms.展开更多

In this paper, the Uniform Linear Array (ULA) is applied to the base station of macrocellular MC-CDMA systems in a frequency-selective fading channel environment. A joint space-frequency multiuser symbol sequence detector is developed for all active users within one macrocell without space-frequency channel estimation. Simultaneously, Directions-Of-Arrivals (DOAs) of all active users can also be estimated. By dividing the ULA into two identical overlapping subarrays, a specific auxiliary matrix is constructed, which includes both symbol sequence and DOA information of all active users. Then, based on the subspace method, performing the eigen decomposition on such auxiliary matrix, the closed-form solution of symbol sequences and DOAs for all active users can be obtained. In comparison with schemes based on channel estimation, our algorithm need not explicitly estimate the space-frequency channel for each active user,so it has lower computation complexity. Extensive computer simulations demonstrate the overall performance of this novel scheme.展开更多

A simple but new iterative multiuser detection framework is proposed, which consists of a message passing algorithm(MPA) based multiuser detector and a soft-input soft-output(SISO) successive cancellation(SC) polar decoder. In particular, the SISO polar decoding process is realized by a specifically designed soft re-encoder, which is concatenated to the original SC decoder. This soft re-encoder is capable of reconstructing the soft information of the entire polar codeword based on previously detected log-likelihood ratios(LLRs) of information bits. Benefiting from the soft re-encoding algorithm, the resultant iterative detection strategy is able to obtain a salient coding gain. Our simulation results demonstrate that significant improvement in error performance is achieved by the proposed polar-coded SCMA in additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channels, where the performance of the conventional SISO belief propagation(BP) polar decoder aided SCMA, the turbo coded SCMA and the low-density parity-check(LDPC) coded SCMA are employed as benchmarks.展开更多

A low complexity multiuser detection algorithm with recursively successive zero-forcing and successive interference cancellation(RSZF-SIC) based on nullspace is proposed. The RSZF process based on the block diagonalization(BD) technique eliminates the co-channel interference(CCI) by a recursive method based on the nullspace orthogonal theorem. The SIC process detects the user signals respectively with the reasonable user detection sequence based on the results of the RSZF process. The computational complexity of the proposed algorithm is effectively reduced by reducing the total number of singular value decomposition(SVD) operations and the dimension of the SVD matrix in the recursive procedure. The performance of the proposed algorithm is improved in terms of bit error rate and sum capacity of the system, especially in the highSNR regime.展开更多

Unlike the conventional linear minimum mean square error (MMSE) detector, which requires matrix inversion at each iteration, the soft-in soft-out (SISO) detector is simply a parallel interference cancellation (PIC)-matched filter (MF) operation. The probability density function (PDF) of PIC-MF detector output is approximated as Gaussian, whose variance is calculated with a priori information fed back from the channel decoder. With this approximation, the log likelihood ratios (LLRs) of transmitted bits are under-estimated. Then the LLRs are multiplied by a constant factor to achieve a performance gain. The constant factor is optimized according to extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) chart of the SISO detector. Simulation results show that the proposed iterative receiver can significantly improve the system performance and converge to the matched filter bound (MFB) with low computational complexity at high signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs).展开更多

文摘Two kinds of lattice-basis reduction precoding schemes based on successive interference cancellation are proposed. The successive interference cancellation(SIC) structure can be obtained by either orthogonal and a right triangular matrix(QR) decomposition,or the Vertical Bell Labs Layered Space Time(VBLAST) algorithm which provides optimal user ordering. Moreover, the extended channel approach is applied to the proposed SIC-based schemes.Simulation results show that the proposed schemes can achieve comparable BER performance to vector precoding(VP).

文摘In a CDMA communication network using conventional signal detection, system capacity is limited and its performance is degraded by the multi-access interference (MAI). Multiuser detection, which makes use of cross-correlation information between spread spectrum codes, can reduce or eliminate the MAI in a Gaussian channel so as to mitigate the near-far effects and increase the system capacity. This paper extends the multiuser detector to a flat Rayleigh fading CDMA environment, and discusses the bit error rate of typical multiuser detection algorithms in such a environment by combining theoretical analysis and computer simulation. It is shown that multiuser detection is superior to conventional detections in the flat Rayleigh fading channels.
文摘This paper addresses the problem of channel estimation in a multiuser multi-cell wireless communications system in which the base station(BS)is equipped with a very large number of antennas(also referred to as"massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)").We consider a time-division duplexing(TDD)scheme,in which reciprocity between the uplink and downlink channels can be assumed.Channel estimation is essential for downlink beamforming in massive MIMO,nevertheless, the pilot contamination effect hinders accurate channel estimation, which leads to overall performance degradation.Benefitted from the asymptotic orthogonality between signal and interference subspaces for non-overlapping angle-of arrivals(AOAs)in the large-scale antenna system,we propose a multiple signals classification(MUSIC)based channel estimation algorithm during the uplink transmission.Analytical and numerical results verify complete pilot decontamination and the effectiveness of the proposed channel estimation algorithm in the multiuser multi-cell massive MIMO system.
文摘Using the hypothesis that data transmitted by different users are statistically independent of each other, this paper proposes a fixed-point blind adaptive multiuser detection algorithm for Time-Hopping (TH) Impulse Radio (IR) Ultra Wide Band (UWB) systems in multipath channel, which is based on Independent Component Analysis (ICA) idea. The proposed algorithm employs maximizing negentropy criterion to separate the data packets of different users. Then the user characteristic se-quences are utilized to identify the data packet order of the desired user. This algorithm only needs the desired user’s characteristic sequence instead of channel information, power information and time-hoping code of any user. Due to using hypothesis of statistical independence among users, the proposed algorithm has the outstanding Bit Error Rate (BER) performance and the excellent ability of near-far resistance. Simulation results demonstrate that this algorithm has the performance close to that of Maximum-Likelihood (ML) algorithm and is a suboptimum blind adaptive multiuser detection algorithm of excellent near-far resistance and low complexity.
文摘It is necessary for an MC-CDMA uplink receiver to employ MUD (multiuser detection) in a frequency selective fading channel. After analyzing the algorithm of PIC(parallel interference cancellation) MUD, a novel MUD scheme, Soft-PIC (soft parallel interference cancellation) is proposed. Based on the reliability of each detected user signal in the former stage, this Soft-PIC detection scheme substitutes a soft decision of the variable for the hard decision in PIC scheme. Compared with the PIC scheme, it can reconstruct the interference signals more accurately and eliminate MAI(multiple access interference) in a more efficient way.PIC is one of the most practical schemes in numerous multiuser detection technologies. However, Soft-PIC as an improved PIC scheme deserves further study.

文摘By introducing the bit-level multi-stream coded Layered Space-Time (LST) transmitter along with a novel iterative MultiStage Decoding (MSD) at the receiver, the paper shows how to achieve the near-capacity performance of the Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems with square Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM). In the proposed iterative MSD scheme, the detection at each stage is equivalent to multiuser detection of synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) multiuser systems with the aid of the binary representation of the transmitted symbols. Therefore, the optimal Soft-Input Soft-Output (SISO) multiuser detection and low-complexity SISO multiuser detection can be utilized herein. And the proposed scheme with low-complexity SISO multiuser detection has polynomial complexity in the number of transmit antennas M, the number of receive antennas N, and the number of bits per constellation point Me. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme has similar Bit Error Rate (BER) performance to that of the known Iterative Tree Search (ITS) detection.
