Construction of effective and recyclable non-noble metal coordination polymers and their multiple applications in water

Acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling of pyridinemethanol with ketones is one of the most reliable methodologies to access functionalized 1,8-naphthyridine derivatives.However,it is challenging to develop environmentally friendly catalytic systems,especially in constructing efficient and recyclable catalysts under water or solvent-free conditions.Here,we designed two novel coordination polymers Cd-CPs and Fe-CPs to investigate their catalytic performance in water.Gratifyingly,it was observed that Cd-CPs as a multifunctional catalyst was successfully applied to establish a universal pathway for direct fabrication of 1,8-naphthyridine derivatives under water conditions,while it was effective for the synthesis of1,3,5-triazines through acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling strategies.The features of broad substrate,high atom efficiency,and good catalyst reusability highlight the feasibility of this transformation.In additional,we demonstrated the spindle-like structures Fe-P,derived from the Fe-CPs via phosphorylation,which can be used as an efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction with good stability.This work provides two highly efficient non-noble metal catalysts for functionalized 1,8-naphthyridine derivatives production and oxygen evolution reaction,and opens a new avenue to further fabricate diverse metal catalysts with high catalytic performance in water. 展开更多

To address the underutilization of Chinese research materials in nonferrous metals,a method for constructing a domain of nonferrous metals knowledge graph(DNMKG)was established.Starting from a domain thesaurus,entities and relationships were mapped as resource description framework(RDF)triples to form the graph’s framework.Properties and related entities were extracted from open knowledge bases,enriching the graph.A large-scale,multi-source heterogeneous corpus of over 1×10^(9) words was compiled from recent literature to further expand DNMKG.Using the knowledge graph as prior knowledge,natural language processing techniques were applied to the corpus,generating word vectors.A novel entity evaluation algorithm was used to identify and extract real domain entities,which were added to DNMKG.A prototype system was developed to visualize the knowledge graph and support human−computer interaction.Results demonstrate that DNMKG can enhance knowledge discovery and improve research efficiency in the nonferrous metals field. 展开更多

Metal may affect maternal immune function,but few epidemiological studies have reported the associations between multiple-metal exposure and maternal immunoglobulin(Ig)levels.Based on the Hangzhou Birth Cohort Study,1059 participants were included,and eleven metals in whole blood samples and serum IgA,IgG,IgE and IgM levels were measured.Linear regression,quantile-based g-computation(QGC),and Bayesian kernel machine regression(BKMR)models were used to evaluate the associations.Compared with the first tertile of metal levels,arsenic(As)was negatively associated with IgE(β=-0.25,95%confidence interval(CI)=-0.48 to-0.02).Moreover,significant associations of manganese(Mn)with IgA,IgG and IgM were demonstrated(β=0.10,95%CI=0.04 to 0.18;β=0.07,95%CI=0.03 to 0.12;β=0.10,95%CI=0.03 to 0.18,respectively).Cadmium(Cd)were associated with higher levels of IgM.QGC models showed the positive association of the metalmixtures with IgA and IgG,with Mn playing amajor role.Mn and Cd had positive contributions to IgM,while As had negative contributions to IgE.In the BKMR models,the latent continuous outcomes of IgA and IgG showed a significant increase when all the metals were at their 60th percentile or above compared to those at their 50th percentile.Therefore,exposure to metals was associated with maternal Igs,and mainly showed that Mn was associated with increased levels of IgA,IgG and IgM,and As was associated with low IgE levels. 展开更多

Refractory metals,including tungsten(W),tantalum(Ta),molybdenum(Mo),and niobium(Nb),play a vital role in industries,such as nuclear energy and aerospace,owing to their exceptional melting temperatures,thermal durability,and corrosion resistance.These metals have body-centered cubic crystal structure,characterized by limited slip systems and impeded dislocation motion,resulting in significant low-temperature brittleness,which poses challenges for the conventional processing.Additive manufacturing technique provides an innovative approach,enabling the production of intricate parts without molds,which significantly improves the efficiency of material usage.This review provides a comprehensive overview of the advancements in additive manufacturing techniques for the production of refractory metals,such as W,Ta,Mo,and Nb,particularly the laser powder bed fusion.In this review,the influence mechanisms of key process parameters(laser power,scan strategy,and powder characteristics)on the evolution of material microstructure,the formation of metallurgical defects,and mechanical properties were discussed.Generally,optimizing powder characteristics,such as sphericity,implementing substrate preheating,and formulating alloying strategies can significantly improve the densification and crack resistance of manufactured parts.Meanwhile,strictly controlling the oxygen impurity content and optimizing the energy density input are also the key factors to achieve the simultaneous improvement in strength and ductility of refractory metals.Although additive manufacturing technique provides an innovative solution for processing refractory metals,critical issues,such as residual stress control,microstructure and performance anisotropy,and process stability,still need to be addressed.This review not only provides a theoretical basis for the additive manufacturing of high-performance refractory metals,but also proposes forward-looking directions for their industrial application. 展开更多

To conduct marine surveys,multiple unmanned surface vessels(Multi-USV)with different capabilities perform collaborative mapping in multiple designated areas.This paper proposes a task allocation algorithm based on integer linear programming(ILP)with flow balance constraints,ensuring the fair and efficient distribution of sub-areas among USVs and maintaining strong connectivity of assigned regions.In the established gridmap,a search-based path planning algorithm is performed on the sub-areas according to the allocation scheme.It uses the greedy algorithm and the A*algorithm to achieve complete coverage of the barrier-free area and obtain an efficient trajectory of each USV.The greedy algorithm enables fast local traversal of unvisited grids,while the A*algorithm ensures navigation to escape from deadlock areas and maintains global path continuity.The comparison of task allocation results proves that the task allocation algorithm based on ILP improves the mapping efficiency and task distribution fairness.The proposed allocation method and result analysis provide a certain reference for the practical application ofMulti-USV to perform survey tasks collaboratively. 展开更多

Formation control of multiple spacecraft has attracted extensive research attention.However,achieving reliable performance under sensor failures remains a significant challenge.This paper develops an integrated framework that jointly designs distributed observers and local controllers to ensure robust formation control in the presence of external disturbances and sensor malfunctions.Treating the spacecraft formation as a single interconnected system,each spacecraft constructs a distributed observer that estimates the overall system state by incorporating both its own measurements and the predicted control information shared among the spacecraft.Based on the observer estimates,a local control law is synthesized to maintain the desired formation.Rigorous theoretical analysis and numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed integrated approach effectively guarantees formation stability and resilience against sensor failures and disturbances. 展开更多

This paper is dedicated to fixed-time passivity and synchronization for multi-weighted spatiotemporal directed networks.First,to achieve fixed-time passivity,a type of decentralized power-law controller is developed,in which only one parameter needs to be adjusted in the power-law terms;this greatly decreases the inconvenience of parameter adjustment.Second,several fixed-time passivity criteria with LMI forms are derived by using a Gauss divergence theorem to deal with the spatial diffusion of nodes and by applying the Hölder’s inequality to dispose rigorously the power-law term greater than one in the designed control scheme;this improves the previous theoretical analysis.Additionally,the fixed-time synchronization of spatiotemporal directed networks with multi-weights is addressed as a direct result of fixed-time strict passivity.Finally,a numerical example is presented in order to show the validity of the theoretical analysis. 展开更多

The surge in environmental pollution in recent years driven by numerous pollutants has necessitated the search for efficient removal methods.Phytoremediation is an eco-friendly technique that provides multiple benefits over conventional methods of removing contaminants.Despite the numerous benefits of this technique,it has certain limitations that can be addressed by incorporating nanoparticles to improve its effectiveness.This review paper aims to explore the impact of heavy metal pollution on plants and human health.It highlights the role and mechanism of nanoparticles in enhancing phytoremediation,their application in the detection of heavy metals,and the strategies for the safe disposal of phytoremediation biomass.Biosynthesized nanoparticles are eco-friendly and non-toxic,with applications in biomedical and environmental fields.Nanoparticles can be used in the form of nano biosensors like smartphone-operated wireless sensors made from Cinnamomum camphora,enabling efficient detection of heavy metal ions.According to the studies,nanoparticles remove 80%–97%of heavy metals by various methods like reduction,precipitation,adsorption,etc.The phytoremediation biomass disposal can be done by heat treatment,phytomining,and microbial treatment with some modifications to further enhance their results.Phytoremediation is an environmentally friendly technique but requires further research and integration with biomass energy production to overcome scalability challenges and ensure safe biomass disposal. 展开更多

Driven by the trend of device miniaturization and high-density integration,the interaction between adjacent electrodes has become a critical factor affecting the interfacial reliability of thermoelectric(TE)structures.This study investigates the influence of adjoining electrode interactions on the interfacial response of a multi-electrode/TE substrate structure,including interfacial stresses and stress intensity factors at the electrode ends.To solve the corresponding boundary-value problem,the Fourier transforms are adopted to derive a governing integro-differential equation for the interfacial shear stress in multi-electrode systems,incorporating the TE effects as generalized forces on the right-hand side.The results show that both the interfacial tension and transverse stress in the electrodes are significantly affected by the presence of adjacent electrodes.The interaction between neighboring electrodes diminishes as their spacing increases or when an adhesive interlayer is introduced.Furthermore,the softer and thinner electrodes,the softer and thicker adhesive interlayer,and the smaller TE loads are found to be beneficial for improving the interfacial performance.These findings may contribute to the accurate measurement in surface sensors and layout design of multi-point health monitoring systems for TE structures. 展开更多

BACKGROUND The accurate prediction of lymph node metastasis(LNM)is crucial for managing locally advanced(T3/T4)colorectal cancer(CRC).However,both traditional histopathology and standard slide-level deep learning often fail to capture the sparse and diagnostically critical features of metastatic potential.AIM To develop and validate a case-level multiple-instance learning(MIL)framework mimicking a pathologist's comprehensive review and improve T3/T4 CRC LNM prediction.METHODS The whole-slide images of 130 patients with T3/T4 CRC were retrospectively collected.A case-level MIL framework utilising the CONCH v1.5 and UNI2-h deep learning models was trained on features from all haematoxylin and eosinstained primary tumour slides for each patient.These pathological features were subsequently integrated with clinical data,and model performance was evaluated using the area under the curve(AUC).RESULTS The case-level framework demonstrated superior LNM prediction over slide-level training,with the CONCH v1.5 model achieving a mean AUC(±SD)of 0.899±0.033 vs 0.814±0.083,respectively.Integrating pathology features with clinical data further enhanced performance,yielding a top model with a mean AUC of 0.904±0.047,in sharp contrast to a clinical-only model(mean AUC 0.584±0.084).Crucially,a pathologist’s review confirmed that the model-identified high-attention regions correspond to known high-risk histopathological features.CONCLUSION A case-level MIL framework provides a superior approach for predicting LNM in advanced CRC.This method shows promise for risk stratification and therapy decisions,requiring further validation. 展开更多

The recovery of precious metals(PMs)from secondary resources is critical for addressing global supply-chain vulnerabilities and sustainable resource utilization.This review systematically examines the transformative potential of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)as next-generation adsorbents for PM recovery,focusing on their synthesis,functionalization,and multiscale adsorption mechanisms.We critically analyze conventional pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical methods and highlight their limitations in terms of selectivity,energy consumption,and secondary pollution.In contrast,MOFs offer tunable porosity,abundant active sites,and tunable surface chemistry,enabling efficient PM capture via synergistic physical and chemical adsorption.Advanced modification techniques,including direct synthesis and post-synthetic modification,are reviewed to propose strategies for enhancing the adsorption kinetics and selectivity for Au,Ag,Pt,and Pd.Key structure-property relationships are established through multiscale characterization and thermodynamic models,revealing the critical roles of hierarchical porosity,soft donor atoms,and framework stability.Industrial challenges,such as aqueous stability and scalability,are addressed via Zr-O bond strengthening,hydrophobic functionalization,and support immobilization.This study consolidates the experimental and theoretical advances in MOF-based PM recovery and provides a roadmap for translating laboratory innovations into practical applications within the circular-economy framework. 展开更多

AIM:To investigate the changes of retinal vascular parameters and retinal layer thickness in patients with multiple sclerosis(MS).METHODS:This single-centered case-control study was performed on a MS group of 42 patients diagnosed with MS and a control group of 43 healthy hospital staff matched in terms of age and sex at Iran University,department of neurology and ophthalmology from March 2020 to March 2021.The ophthalmic parameters of each patient were recorded,and optical coherence tomography was used to evaluate the retinal thickness in the layers.RESULTS:This study enrolled a total of 85 participants,with a mean age of 40.44±11.52 years,including 61 females(72%).The control group consisted of 43 individuals with a mean age of 39.49±11.07 years,while the MS group comprised 42 participants with a mean age of 41.40±12.01 years.The mean disease duration in the MS group was 8.45±6.04 a.The thickness of the ganglion cell layer in the right eye was significantly lower in the MS group compared to the control group(P=0.034).In addition,except for the left nasal sector(P=0.106),the mean peripapillary neurofibrillation in all examined sectors were significantly lower in the MS group than in the control group(P<0.05).The average vessel density in both the deep and superficial capillary plexuses across all regions of both eyes was lower in the MS group than in the control group,with all comparisons for the superficial capillary plexus showing statistical significance(P<0.05 for all except the left nasal sector).CONCLUSION:The thickness of the retina of patients with MS is significantly reduced.Therefore,optical coherence tomography results can be used as a reliable tool to evaluate disease progression and prognosis in MS patients. 展开更多

The ectomycorrhizal fungus Paxillus involutus was inoculated onto tissue-cultures of the hybrid poplar,Populus davidiana×P.bolleana,to evaluate the elemental defense effect to heavy metals copper and cadmium at different concentrations by simulating Alternaria alternata fungus infection.The enrichment capacity of Populus davidiana×P.bolleana for Cu and Cd was closely associated with the degree of heavy metal stress.There was a significant positive interaction of applying Cu and Cd and the inoculation with P.involutus on A.alternata leaf blight disease index.The incidence rate and disease index of leaf blight underwent a significant reduction compared with the controls.Similarly,the ratio of the area of disease spot to leaf area,incidence rate,and disease index for Populus davidiana×P.bolleana leaves inoculated with Paxillus involutus(Batsch)Fr.were significantly lower than those of their nonmycorrhizal counterparts.With increasing the degree of Cu and Cd stress,a gradual increase in the average value of the membership function for the incidence rate and disease index was observed,indicating the weakened pathogen's ability to cause infection and the improved resistance of Populus davidiana×P.bolleana to leaf blight disease under Cu and Cd stress.Moreover,superoxide dismutase enzyme activity in Populus davidiana×P.bolleana increased significantly,reaching levels of 411.0 U/g FW and 421.6 U/g FW under Cu and Cd treatments,respectively.These changes in metabolic products and antioxidant enzyme activities suggest that P.involutus may enhance the resistance of Populus davidiana×P.bolleana to the fungus,Alternaria alternata Fr.Keissel under heavy metal stress by modulating these physiological indicators. 展开更多

Two strains of Fe/Mn oxidizing bacteria tolerant to high concentrations of multiple heavy metal(loid)s and efficient decontamination for them were screened.The surface of the bio-Fe/Mn oxides produced by the oxidation of Fe(II)and Mn(II)by Pseudomonas taiwanensis(marked as P4)and Pseudomonas plecoglossicida(marked as G1)contains rich reactive oxygen functional groups,which play critical roles in the removal efficiency and immobilization of heavymetal(loid)s in co-contamination system.The isolated strains P4 and G1 can growwell in the following environments:pH 5-9,NaCl 0-4%,and temperature 20-30℃.The removal efficiencies of Fe,Pb,As,Zn,Cd,Cu,and Mn are effective after inoculation of the strains P4 and G1 in the simulated water system(the initial concentrations of heavy metal(loid)were 1 mg/L),approximately reaching 96%,92%,85%,67%,70%,54%and 15%,respectively.The exchangeable and carbonate bound As,Cd,Pb and Cu are more inclined to convert to the Fe-Mn oxide bound fractions in P4 and G1 treated soil,thereby reducing the phytoavailability and bioaccessible of heavy metal(loid)s.This research provides alternatives method to treat water and soil containing high concentrations of multi-heavy metal(loid)s. 展开更多

The design and preparation of economic and efficient electrolysis water catalysts is an important part in effectively developing and utilizing hydrogen energy.In this work,novel N-doped carbon nanospheres supported multiple transition metal sulfides(NiWCoS/NC)electrocatalysts were prepared by combining the radiation oxidation synthesis and synchronous carbonization-sulfurization.Initially,the precursor material(NiWCoS/OANI,here OANI refers to oligoaniline)containing sulfurand multiple transition metal(Ni,W,and Co)ions loaded on oligoaniline nanospheres was directly one-pot synthesized at room temperature under γ-ray radiation.Subsequently,NiWCoS/NC electrocatalysts were successfully prepared by calcining the NiWCoS/OANI precursor at 800℃.The electrocatalytic performance of NiWCoS/NC for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)was characterized by electrochemical analysis methods including linear sweep voltammetry,cyclic voltammetry,chronoamperometry,and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.The influence of the relative content of the loaded transition metals on the electrocatalytic performance was also investigated.The results indicate that the novel NiWCoS/NC electrocatalyst can significantly reduce the overpotential and Tafel slope for both HER and OER compared to corresponding electrocatalysts with single metal or metal sulfide component.When NiWCoS/NC with a molar ratio of 3:6:10 for W,Co,and S elements was used as electrode material,the overpotentials for HER in 0.5 mol/L H_(2)SO_(4) and OER in 1 mol/L KOH are only 161 mV and 243 mV at a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2),respectively.The Tafel slopes are 74 mV/dec and 88 mV/dec,respectively.The work provides a new direction and method for the design and green facile preparation of high-efficiency overall water splitting catalysts. 展开更多

Three monomers,namely A2,B2,and GH,were designed and synthesized.By utilizing double host-vip interactions,the monomers A2+B2+GH underwent self-assembly to form a supramolecular linear polymer(SLP)at high concentrations.Long fibers could be pulled from the concentrated SLP solution.Upon the addition of PdCl_(2)(PhCN)_(2)into the SLP solution,a structural transformation occurred from SLP to a supramolecular crosslinked polymer(SCP)through metal coordination interaction.This transformation induced fluorescence quenching,test paper strips for ion detection experiment confirmed that the SLP had good detection ability for Pd^(2+).Furthermore,the SCP underwent a transformation into a gel when the concentration exceeded 145 mmol/L.The SCP gel demonstrated sensitivity to different stimuli,such as K^(+)ions and changes in temperature,accompanied by a reversible transition between sol and gel states.Additionally,rheological analyses indicated that the gel possessed favorable self-healing properties. 展开更多
