Quantitative method for evaluating detailed volatility of wind power at multiple temporal-spatial scales 被引量:6

With the increasing proportion of wind power integration, the volatility of wind power brings huge challenges to the safe and stable operation of the electric power system. At present, the indexes commonly used to evaluate the volatility of wind power only consider its overall characteristics, such as the standard deviation of wind power, the average of power variables, etc., while ignoring the detailed volatility of wind power, that is, the features of the frequency distribution of power variables. However, how to accurately describe the detailed volatility of wind power is the key foundation to reduce its adverse influences. To address this, a quantitative method for evaluating the detailed volatility of wind power at multiple temporal-spatial scales is proposed. First, the volatility indexes which can evaluate the detailed fluctuation characteristics of wind power are presented, including the upper confidence limit, lower confidence limit and confidence interval of power variables under the certain confidence level. Then, the actual wind power data from a location in northern China is used to illustrate the application of the proposed indexes at multiple temporal(year–season–month–day) and spatial scales(wind turbine–wind turbines–wind farm–wind farms) using the calculation time windows of 10 min, 30 min, 1 h, and 4 h. Finally, the relationships between wind power forecasting accuracy and its corresponding detailed volatility are analyzed to further verify the effectiveness of the proposed indexes. The results show that the proposed volatility indexes can effectively characterize the detailed fluctuations of wind power at multiple temporal-spatial scales. It is anticipated that the results of this study will serve as an important reference for the reserve capacity planning and optimization dispatch in the electric power system which with a high proportion of renewable energy. 展开更多

In order to investigate the impact of channel model parameters on the channel capacity of a multipleinput multiple-output (MIMO) system, a novel method is proposed to explore the channel capacity under Rayleigh fiat fading with correlated transmit and receive antennas. The optimal transmitting direction which can achieve maximum channel capacity is derived using random matrices theory. In addition, the closed-form expression for the channel capacity of MIMO systems is given by utilizing the properties of Wishart distribution when SNR is high. Computer simulation results show that the channel capacity is maximized when the antenna spacing increases to a certain point, and furthermore, the larger the scattering angle is, the more quickly the channel capacity converges to its maximum. At high SNR (〉12 dB), the estimation of capacity is close to its true wlue. And, when the same array configuration is adopted both at the transmitter and the receiver, the UCA yields higher channel capacity than ULA. 展开更多

Modern cloud services are monitored by numerous multidomain and multivendor monitoring tools,which generate massive numbers of alerts and events that are not actionable.These alerts usually carry isolated messages that are missing service contexts.Administrators become inundated with tickets caused by such alert events when they are routed directly to incident management systems.Noisy alerts increase the risk of crucial warnings going undetected and leading to service outages.One of the feasible ways to cope with the above problems involves revealing the correlations behind a large number of alerts and then aggregating the related alerts according to their correlations.Based on these guidelines,AlertInsight,a framework for alert event reduction,is proposed in this paper.In AlertInsight,the correlations among event sources are found by mining a sequence of historical events.Then,event correlation knowledge is employed to build an online detector targeting the correlated events that are hidden in the event stream.Finally,the correlated events are aggregated into a single high-level event for alert reduction.Because of theweaknesses of the commonly used pairwise correlation analysis methods in complex environments,an innovative approach for multiple correlation mining,which overcomes computational complexity challenges by scanning panoramic views of historical episodes from the perspective of holism,is proposed in this paper.In addition,a neural network-based correlated event detector that can learn the event correlation knowledge generated from correlation mining and then detect the correlated events in a sequence online is proposed.Experiments are conducted to test the effectiveness of AlertInsight.The experimental results(precision=0.92,recall=0.93,and F1-score=0.93)demonstrate the performance of AlertInsight for the recognition of multiple correlated alerts and its competence for alert reduction. 展开更多

Compared to 3D object detection using a single camera,multiple cameras can overcome some limitations on field-of-view,occlusion,and low detection confidence.This study employs multiple surveillance cameras and develops a cooperative 3D object detection and tracking framework by incorporating temporal and spatial information.The framework consists of a 3D vehicle detection model,cooperatively spatial-temporal relation scheme,and heuristic camera constellation method.Specifically,the proposed cross-camera association scheme combines the geometric relationship between multiple cameras and objects in corresponding detections.The spatial-temporal method is designed to associate vehicles between different points of view at a single timestamp and fulfill vehicle tracking in the time aspect.The proposed framework is evaluated based on a synthetic cooperative dataset and shows high reliability,where the cooperative perception can recall more than 66%of the trajectory instead of 11%for single-point sensing.This could contribute to full-range surveillance for intelligent transportation systems. 展开更多

Many complex traits are highly correlated rather than independent. By taking the correlation structure of multiple traits into account, joint association analyses can achieve both higher statistical power and more accurate estimation. To develop a statistical approach to joint association analysis that includes allele detection and genetic effect estimation, we combined multivariate partial least squares regression with variable selection strategies and selected the optimal model using the Bayesian Information Criterion(BIC). We then performed extensive simulations under varying heritabilities and sample sizes to compare the performance achieved using our method with those obtained by single-trait multilocus methods. Joint association analysis has measurable advantages over single-trait methods, as it exhibits superior gene detection power, especially for pleiotropic genes. Sample size, heritability,polymorphic information content(PIC), and magnitude of gene effects influence the statistical power, accuracy and precision of effect estimation by the joint association analysis. 展开更多

Based on the major gene and polygene mixed inheritance model for multiple correlated quantitative traits, the authors proposed a new joint segregation analysis method of major gene controlling multiple correlated quantitative traits, which include major gene detection and its effect and variation estimation. The effect and variation of major gene are estimated by the maximum likelihood method implemented via expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm. Major gene is tested with the likelihood ratio (LR) test statistic. Extensive simulation studies showed that joint analysis not only increases the statistical power of major gene detection but also improves the precision and accuracy of major gene effect estimates. An example of the plant height and the number of tiller of F2 population in rice cross Duonieai x Zhonghua 11 was used in the illustration. The results indicated that the genetic difference of these two traits in this cross refers to only one pleiotropic major gene. The additive effect and dominance effect of the major gene are estimated as -21.3 and 40.6 cm on plant height, and 22.7 and -25.3 on number of tiller, respectively. The major gene shows overdominance for plant height and close to complete dominance for number of tillers. 展开更多

Mobile robots are often subject to multiplicative noise in the target tracking tasks,where the multiplicative measurement noise is correlated with additive measurement noise.In this paper,first,a correlation multiplicative measurement noise model is established.It is able to more accurately represent the measurement error caused by the distance sensor dependence state.Then,the estimated performance mismatch problem of Cubature Kalman Filter(CKF)under multiplicative noise is analyzed.An improved Gaussian filter algorithm is introduced to help obtain the CKF algorithm with correlated multiplicative noise.In practice,the model parameters are unknown or inaccurate,especially the correlation of noise is difficult to obtain,which can lead to a decrease in filtering accuracy or even divergence.To address this,an adaptive CKF algorithm is further provided to achieve reliable state estimation for the unknown noise correlation coefficient and thus the application of the CKF algorithm is extended.Finally,the estimated performance is analyzed theoretically,and the simulation study is conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

Urban energy systems(UESs)play a pivotal role in the consumption of clean energy and the promotion of energy cascade utilization.In the context of the construction and operation strategy of UESs with multiple complementary energy resources,a comprehensive assessment of the energy efficiency is of paramount importance.First,a multi-dimensional evaluation system with four primary indexes of energy utilization,environmental protection,system operation,and economic efficiency and 21 secondary indexes is constructed to comprehensively portray the UES.Considering that the evaluation system may contain a large number of indexes and that there is overlapping information among them,an energy efficiency evaluation method based on data processing,dimensionality reduction,integration of combined weights,and gray correlation analysis is proposed.This method can effectively reduce the number of calculations and improve the accuracy of energy efficiency assessments.Third,a demonstration project for a UES in China is presented.The energy efficiency of each scenario is assessed using six operational scenarios.The results show that Scenario 5,in which parks operate independently and investors build shared energy-storage equipment,has the best results and is best suited for green and low-carbon development.The results of the comparative assessment methods show that the proposed method provides a good energy efficiency assessment.This study provides a reference for the optimal planning,construction,and operation of UESs with multiple energy sources. 展开更多

The calculated multiplicity and pseudorapidity distribution of the final state charged hadrons are well compared with the experimental data. It is found that the final state charged hadron pseudorapidity distribution is different from the initial state charged partons. The parton rescattering effect on the charged hadron forward-backward multiplicity correlation increases with the increasing parton rescattering strength in the center pseudorapidity region (|η| 〈 1). However, this effect becomes weaker in the outer pseudorapidity region (|η| 〉 1). 展开更多

In this paper, we are proposing a compression-based multiple color target detection for practical near real-time optical pattern recognition applications. By reducing the size of the color images to its utmost compression, the speed and the storage of the system are greatly increased. We have used the powerful Fringe-adjusted joint transform correlation technique to successfully detect compression-based multiple targets in colored images. The colored image is decomposed into three fundamental color components images (Red, Green, Blue) and they are separately processed by three-channel correlators. The outputs of the three channels are then combined into a single correlation output. To eliminate the false alarms and zero-order terms due to multiple desired and undesired targets in a scene, we have used the reference shifted phase-encoded and the reference phase-encoded techniques. The performance of the proposed compression-based technique is assessed through many computer simulation tests for images polluted by strong additive Gaussian and Salt & Pepper noises as well as reference occluded images. The robustness of the scheme is demonstrated for severely compressed images (up to 94% ratio), strong noise densities (up to 0.5), and large reference occlusion images (up to 75%). 展开更多

Starting from the configuration of the optical prime code, a kind of key signature code for the optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA) system, based on the linear congruence theory in the finite Galois field, the correlation properties of the basic prime code, the extended prime code and the modified prime code are mathematically analyzed, the distribution of cross-correlation values is given and the overlap area of "1"s in the case of periodically circularly shifting is indicated. It is mathematically demonstrated that the maximum cross-correlation of the basic prime code is 2, and that of the extended prime code and the modified prime code is 1. The integrated correlation analysis process is proposed. The signal-interfere ratio (SIR) and the BER performance of the systems employing different signature codes are calculated, respectively, and the performances of OCDMA systems employing different signature codes mode are compared. 展开更多

In this scheme, multiple antennas are employed to strengthen the robustness in transmission, and to get more diversity gain. The bit error rate (BER) of the MIMO-CDSK is studied analytically in AWGN channel model and multipath fading channel model. The theory and simulation results show that, the performance gain can be obtained with multiple antennas allocated in the transmitter and receiver. The algorithm is mainly based on Kalman filter and interacting multiple model(IMM). It processes crosscorrelated sensor noises by using augmented fusion before model interacting. And eigenvalue decomposition is utilized to reduce calculation complexity and implement parallel computing. In simulation part, the feasibility of the algorithm was tested and verified, and the relationship between sensor number and the estimation precision was studied. Results show that simply increasing the number of sensor cannot always improve the performance of the estimation. Type and number of sensors should be optimized in practical applications. 展开更多

A system model is constructed based on the channel estimation error at receiver side. Using the properties of Wishart distribution, the lower bound of the channel capacity is derived when the MIMO channel is of full rank. Then a method is proposed to select the optimum set of transmit antennas based on the lower bound of the mean channel capacity. The novel method can be easily implemented with low computational complexity. The simulation results show that the channel capacity of MIMO system is sensitive to channel estimation error, and is maximized when the signal-to-noise ratio increases to a certain point. Proper selection of transmit antennas can increase the channel capacity of MIMO system by about 1 bit/s in a flat fading environment with deficient rank of channel matrix. 展开更多

The mode switching between spatial multiplexing (SM) and space-time block code (STBC) diversity is investigated for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) automatic repeat request (ARQ) system. Five important practical factors are considered in the proposed switching scheme: transmit correlation, ARQ technique, packet loss probability (PLP) constraint, discrete rate transmission (DRT) and channel coding. Under the spatially correlated channel, the distributions of the post signal-to-interference-plus- noise ratio (SiNR) for the SM mode and the STBC mode are obtained by using Gamma approximations. Then this paper derives the closed-form expressions of the PLP and the throughput for different modes when the ARQ technique is employed, based on which the mode switching algorithm is proposed to improve the spectral efficency. In the simulation, the correction of the expressions is first verified. Then, the significant gain observed by the proposed algorithm is presented. Since the switching point is the key parameter to implement the mode switching, this paper also shows how the switching point is affected by the practical factors considered. 展开更多
