There is an increased interest in the extraction of nucleic acids from various environmental samples since culture-independent molecular techniques contribute to deepen and broaden the understanding of a greater porti...There is an increased interest in the extraction of nucleic acids from various environmental samples since culture-independent molecular techniques contribute to deepen and broaden the understanding of a greater portion of uncultivable microorganisms. Due to difficulties to select the optimum DNA extraction method in view of downstream molecular analyses, this article presents a straightforward mathematical framework for comparing some of the most commonly used methods. Four commercial DNA extraction kits and two physical-chemical methods (bead-beating and freeze-thaw) were compared for the extraction of DNA under several quantitative DNA analysis criteria: yield of extraction, purity of extracted DNA (A260/280 and A260/230 ratios), degradation degree of DNA, easiness of PCR amplification, duration of extraction, and cost per extraction. From a practical point of view, it is unlikely that a single DNA extraction strategy can be optimum for all selected criteria. Hence, a systematic Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) was employed to compare the methods. The PowerSoil? DNA Isolation Kit was systematically defined as the best performing method for extracting DNA from soil samples. More specifically, for soil:manure and soil:manure:biochar mixtures, the PowerSoil?DNA Isolation Kit method performed best, while for neat soil samples its alternative version gained the first rank.展开更多

A neutrosophic multi-valued set(NMVS)is a crucial representation for true,false,and indeterminate multivalued information.Then,a consistent single-valued neutrosophic set(CSVNS)can effectively reflect the mean and con...A neutrosophic multi-valued set(NMVS)is a crucial representation for true,false,and indeterminate multivalued information.Then,a consistent single-valued neutrosophic set(CSVNS)can effectively reflect the mean and consistency degree of true,false,and indeterminate multi-valued sequences and solve the operational issues between different multi-valued sequence lengths in NMVS.However,there has been no research on consistent single-valued neutrosophic similarity measures in the existing literature.This paper proposes cotangent similarity measures and weighted cotangent similarity measures between CSVNSs based on cotangent function in the neutrosophic multi-valued setting.The cosine similarity measures showthe cosine of the angle between two vectors projected into amultidimensional space,rather than their distance.The cotangent similaritymeasures in this study can alleviate several shortcomings of cosine similarity measures in vector space to a certain extent.Then,a decisionmaking approach is presented in viewof the established cotangent similarity measures in the case of NMVSs.Finally,the developed decision-making approach is applied to selection problems of potential cars.The proposed approach has obtained two different results,which have the same sort sequence as the compared literature.The decision results prove its validity and effectiveness.Meantime,it also provides a new manner for neutrosophic multi-valued decision-making issues.展开更多

Multiobjectives decision nonlinear programming (NLP) was employed to optimize the operation conditions of a chemical reaction process and reduce waste. A modeling language package-SPEEDUP was used to simulate the process. This paper presents a case study of the benzene production process. The flowsheet factors affecting the economics and waste generation were examined. Constraints were imposed to reduce the number of objectives and carry out optimal calculations easily. After comparisons of all possible solutions, best-compromise approach was applied to meet technological requirements and minimize waste.展开更多

An effective tracking method...An object model-based tracking method is useful for tracking multiple objects, but the main difficulties are modeling objects reliably and tracking objects via models in successive frames. An effective tracking method using the object models is proposed to track multiple objects in a real-time visual surveillance system. Firstly, for detecting objects, an adaptive kernel density estimation method is utilized, which uses an adaptive bandwidth and features combining colour and gradient. Secondly, some models of objects are built for describing motion, shape and colour features. Then, a matching matrix is formed to analyze tracking situations. If objects are tracked under occlusions, the optimal "visual" object is found to represent the occluded object, and the posterior probability of pixel is used to determine which pixel is utilized for updating object models. Extensive experiments show that this method improves the accuracy and validity of tracking objects even under occlusions and is used in real-time visual surveillance systems.展开更多

By modifying the Mach-Zehnder interferometer, the interference of the multiple objects beams and the one reference beam is used to simultaneously encrypt multiple objects into a ciphertext. During decryption, each three-dimensional object can be decrypted independently without having to decrypt other objects. Since the single- pixel digital holography based on compressive sensing theory is introduced, the encrypted data of this method is effectively reduced. In addition, recording fewer encrypted data can greatly reduce the bandwidth of network transmission. Moreover, the compressive sensing essentially serves as a secret key that makes an intruder attack invalid, which means that the system is more secure than the conventional encryption method. Simulation results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method and show that the system has good security performance.展开更多

To acquire the complete projection data for OFS objects, some scan modes have been developed for long objects and short but over-wide objects. However, these modes still cannot meet the requirements for both longitudinally long and transversely wide objects. In this paper, we propose a multiple helical scan mode and a corresponding reconstruction algorithm for both longitudinally long and transversely wide objects. The simulation results show that our model can deal with the problem and that the results are acceptable, while the OFS object is twice as long compared with the FOV in the same latitude.展开更多

Urban energy systems(UESs)play a pivotal role in the consumption of clean energy and the promotion of energy cascade utilization.In the context of the construction and operation strategy of UESs with multiple compleme...Urban energy systems(UESs)play a pivotal role in the consumption of clean energy and the promotion of energy cascade utilization.In the context of the construction and operation strategy of UESs with multiple complementary energy resources,a comprehensive assessment of the energy efficiency is of paramount importance.First,a multi-dimensional evaluation system with four primary indexes of energy utilization,environmental protection,system operation,and economic efficiency and 21 secondary indexes is constructed to comprehensively portray the UES.Considering that the evaluation system may contain a large number of indexes and that there is overlapping information among them,an energy efficiency evaluation method based on data processing,dimensionality reduction,integration of combined weights,and gray correlation analysis is proposed.This method can effectively reduce the number of calculations and improve the accuracy of energy efficiency assessments.Third,a demonstration project for a UES in China is presented.The energy efficiency of each scenario is assessed using six operational scenarios.The results show that Scenario 5,in which parks operate independently and investors build shared energy-storage equipment,has the best results and is best suited for green and low-carbon development.The results of the comparative assessment methods show that the proposed method provides a good energy efficiency assessment.This study provides a reference for the optimal planning,construction,and operation of UESs with multiple energy sources.展开更多

The key factors of this method are to use depth information and different strategies to track objects under various occlusion scenarios. The foreground objects are detected and refined by background subtraction and shadow cancellation. The occlusion detection is based on information of foreground blobs in successive frames. The occlusion regions are projected to the projection plane XZ to analysis occlusion situation. According to the occlusion analysis results, different objects’ corresponding strategies are introduced to track objects under various occlusion scenarios including tracking occluded objects in similar depth layer and in different depth layers. The experimental results show that our proposed method can track the moving objects under the most typical and challenging occlusion scenarios.展开更多
Object tracking,an important technology in the field of image processing and computer vision,is used to continuously track a specific object or person in an image.This technology may be effective in identifying the sa...Object tracking,an important technology in the field of image processing and computer vision,is used to continuously track a specific object or person in an image.This technology may be effective in identifying the same person within one image,but it has limitations in handling multiple images owing to the difficulty in identifying whether the object appearing in other images is the same.When tracking the same object using two or more images,there must be a way to determine that objects existing in different images are the same object.Therefore,this paper attempts to determine the same object present in different images using color information among the unique information of the object.Thus,this study proposes a multiple-object-tracking method using histogram stamp extraction in closed-circuit television applications.The proposed method determines the presence or absence of a target object in an image by comparing the similarity between the image containing the target object and other images.To this end,a unique color value of the target object is extracted based on its color distribution in the image using three methods:mean,mode,and interquartile range.The Top-N accuracy method is used to analyze the accuracy of each method,and the results show that the mean method had an accuracy of 93.5%(Top-2).Furthermore,the positive prediction value experimental results show that the accuracy of the mean method was 65.7%.As a result of the analysis,it is possible to detect and track the same object present in different images using the unique color of the object.Through the results,it is possible to track the same object that can minimize manpower without using personal information when detecting objects in different images.In the last response speed experiment,it was shown that when the mean was used,the color extraction of the object was possible in real time with 0.016954 s.Through this,it is possible to detect and track the same object in real time when using the proposed method.展开更多

文摘Responsive orbits have exhibited advantages in emergencies for their excellent responsiveness and coverage to targets.Generally,there are several conflicting metrics to trade in the orbit design for responsive space.A special multiple-objective genetic algorithm,namely the Nondominated Sorting Genetic AlgorithmⅡ(NSGAⅡ),is used to design responsive orbits.This algorithm has considered the conflicting metrics of orbits to achieve the optimal solution,including the orbital elements and launch programs of responsive vehicles.Low-Earth fast access orbits and low-Earth repeat coverage orbits,two subtypes of responsive orbits,can be designed using NSGAI under given metric tradeoffs,number of vehicles,and launch mode.By selecting the optimal solution from the obtained Pareto fronts,a designer can process the metric tradeoffs conveniently in orbit design.Recurring to the flexibility of the algorithm,the NSGAI promotes the responsive orbit design further.

文摘An object model-based tracking method is useful for tracking multiple objects, but the main difficulties are modeling objects reliably and tracking objects via models in successive frames. An effective tracking method using the object models is proposed to track multiple objects in a real-time visual surveillance system. Firstly, for detecting objects, an adaptive kernel density estimation method is utilized, which uses an adaptive bandwidth and features combining colour and gradient. Secondly, some models of objects are built for describing motion, shape and colour features. Then, a matching matrix is formed to analyze tracking situations. If objects are tracked under occlusions, the optimal "visual" object is found to represent the occluded object, and the posterior probability of pixel is used to determine which pixel is utilized for updating object models. Extensive experiments show that this method improves the accuracy and validity of tracking objects even under occlusions and is used in real-time visual surveillance systems.

文摘We present an optical encryption method of multiple three-dimensional objects based on multiple interferences and single-pixel digital holography. By modifying the Mach-Zehnder interferometer, the interference of the multiple objects beams and the one reference beam is used to simultaneously encrypt multiple objects into a ciphertext. During decryption, each three-dimensional object can be decrypted independently without having to decrypt other objects. Since the single- pixel digital holography based on compressive sensing theory is introduced, the encrypted data of this method is effectively reduced. In addition, recording fewer encrypted data can greatly reduce the bandwidth of network transmission. Moreover, the compressive sensing essentially serves as a secret key that makes an intruder attack invalid, which means that the system is more secure than the conventional encryption method. Simulation results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method and show that the system has good security performance.

文摘In cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), there are often cases where the size of the specimen is larger than the field of view (FOV) (referred to as over FOV-sized (OFS)). To acquire the complete projection data for OFS objects, some scan modes have been developed for long objects and short but over-wide objects. However, these modes still cannot meet the requirements for both longitudinally long and transversely wide objects. In this paper, we propose a multiple helical scan mode and a corresponding reconstruction algorithm for both longitudinally long and transversely wide objects. The simulation results show that our model can deal with the problem and that the results are acceptable, while the OFS object is twice as long compared with the FOV in the same latitude.
文摘Multiple objects decision is used widely in many complex fields. In this paper an idea is provided to construct a train diagram intelligent multiple objects decision support system (TDIMODSS). And the reference point method is used to solve the complicated and large scale problems of making and adjusting train schedule. This paper focuses on the principle and framework of the model base, knowledge base of train diagram. It is shown that the TDIMODSS can solve the problems and their uncertainty in making train diagram, and can combine the expert knowledge, experience and judgement of a decision maker into the system. In addition to that, a friendly working environment is also presented, which brings together the human judgement, the adaptability to environment and the computerised information.

文摘Urban energy systems(UESs)play a pivotal role in the consumption of clean energy and the promotion of energy cascade utilization.In the context of the construction and operation strategy of UESs with multiple complementary energy resources,a comprehensive assessment of the energy efficiency is of paramount importance.First,a multi-dimensional evaluation system with four primary indexes of energy utilization,environmental protection,system operation,and economic efficiency and 21 secondary indexes is constructed to comprehensively portray the UES.Considering that the evaluation system may contain a large number of indexes and that there is overlapping information among them,an energy efficiency evaluation method based on data processing,dimensionality reduction,integration of combined weights,and gray correlation analysis is proposed.This method can effectively reduce the number of calculations and improve the accuracy of energy efficiency assessments.Third,a demonstration project for a UES in China is presented.The energy efficiency of each scenario is assessed using six operational scenarios.The results show that Scenario 5,in which parks operate independently and investors build shared energy-storage equipment,has the best results and is best suited for green and low-carbon development.The results of the comparative assessment methods show that the proposed method provides a good energy efficiency assessment.This study provides a reference for the optimal planning,construction,and operation of UESs with multiple energy sources.
文摘In this paper, we have presented a novel tracking method aiming at detecting objects and maintaining their la-bel/identification over the time. The key factors of this method are to use depth information and different strategies to track objects under various occlusion scenarios. The foreground objects are detected and refined by background subtraction and shadow cancellation. The occlusion detection is based on information of foreground blobs in successive frames. The occlusion regions are projected to the projection plane XZ to analysis occlusion situation. According to the occlusion analysis results, different objects’ corresponding strategies are introduced to track objects under various occlusion scenarios including tracking occluded objects in similar depth layer and in different depth layers. The experimental results show that our proposed method can track the moving objects under the most typical and challenging occlusion scenarios.

文摘Object tracking,an important technology in the field of image processing and computer vision,is used to continuously track a specific object or person in an image.This technology may be effective in identifying the same person within one image,but it has limitations in handling multiple images owing to the difficulty in identifying whether the object appearing in other images is the same.When tracking the same object using two or more images,there must be a way to determine that objects existing in different images are the same object.Therefore,this paper attempts to determine the same object present in different images using color information among the unique information of the object.Thus,this study proposes a multiple-object-tracking method using histogram stamp extraction in closed-circuit television applications.The proposed method determines the presence or absence of a target object in an image by comparing the similarity between the image containing the target object and other images.To this end,a unique color value of the target object is extracted based on its color distribution in the image using three methods:mean,mode,and interquartile range.The Top-N accuracy method is used to analyze the accuracy of each method,and the results show that the mean method had an accuracy of 93.5%(Top-2).Furthermore,the positive prediction value experimental results show that the accuracy of the mean method was 65.7%.As a result of the analysis,it is possible to detect and track the same object present in different images using the unique color of the object.Through the results,it is possible to track the same object that can minimize manpower without using personal information when detecting objects in different images.In the last response speed experiment,it was shown that when the mean was used,the color extraction of the object was possible in real time with 0.016954 s.Through this,it is possible to detect and track the same object in real time when using the proposed method.
