Automation and intelligence have become the primary trends in the design of investment casting processes.However,the design of gating and riser systems still lacks precise quantitative evaluation criteria.Numerical simulation plays a significant role in quantitatively evaluating current processes and making targeted improvements,but its limitations lie in the inability to dynamically reflect the formation outcomes of castings under varying process conditions,making real-time adjustments to gating and riser designs challenging.In this study,an automated design model for gating and riser systems based on integrated parametric 3D modeling-simulation framework is proposed,which enhances the flexibility and usability of evaluating the casting process by simulation.Firstly,geometric feature extraction technology is employed to obtain the geometric information of the target casting.Based on this information,an automated design framework for gating and riser systems is established,incorporating multiple structural parameters for real-time process control.Subsequently,the simulation results for various structural parameters are analyzed,and the influence of these parameters on casting formation is thoroughly investigated.Finally,the optimal design scheme is generated and validated through experimental verification.Simulation analysis and experimental results show that using a larger gate neck(24 mm in side length) and external risers promotes a more uniform temperature distribution and a more stable flow state,effectively eliminating shrinkage cavities and enhancing process yield by 15%. 展开更多

This article investigates the dynamic characteristics of deflectable nose missiles with rotary single-channel control. After introduction of effective attack and sideslip angles as well as quasi-body coordinates based on the spin characteristics of the missile's body, an integrated rigid kinetic model of missile with deflectable nose control is set up in the quasi-body coordinates considering the interaction between the missile's nose and body by using rootless multi-rigid-body system dynamics and is linearized. Then an analysis with simulation is conducted to investigate the coupling characteristics between the channels, the influences of nose deflection on the body and the dynamic characteristics of missile's body. The results indicate that various channels of missiles with deflectable nose control are coupled cross-linked; the nose deflection tends to make the body move in the opposite direction and, finally, evidences the correctness and reasonability of the kinetic model proposed by this article. 展开更多

The epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)—tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs) monotherapies have limited efficacy in the treatment of EGFR mutation-negative non-small cell lung cancers(NSCLCs). In the present study, we aimed to investigate the combined effect of erlotinib(ER) and cabozantinib(CAB) on NSCLC cell lines harboring wild-type EGFR and to optimize the dosage regimens using pharmacodynamic(PD) modeling and simulation. Therefore, we examined the combined effect of ER and CAB on cell viability, cloning, apoptosis induction, migration and growth dynamics in H1299 and A549 cells. PD modeling and simulation were also performed to quantitatively describe the H1299 cells growth dynamics and to optimize the dosage regimens as well. Our results showed that CAB effectively enhanced the sensitivity of both cell lines to ER. The PD models fitted the data well, and some important parameters were obtained. The exponential(λ_0) and linear(λ_1) growth rates of H1299 cells were 0.0241 h^(–1) and 360 cells?h^(–1), respectively. The Emax of ER and CAB was 0.0091 h^(–1) and 0.0085 h^(–1), and the EC50 was 0.812 μM and 1.16 μM, respectively. The synergistic effect observed in the experiments was further confirmed by the estimated combination index φ(1.37),(95% confidence interval: 1.24–1.50), obtained from PD modeling. Furthermore, the dosage regimens were optimized using simulations. In summary, both the experimental and modeling results demonstrated the synergistic interaction between ER and CAB in NSCLCs without EGFR mutations. Sequential combinations of ER and CAB provided an option for the therapy of the NSCLCs with wild-type EGFR, which would provide some references for preclinical study and translational research as well. 展开更多

The flying-wing underwater glider (UG), shaped as a blended wing body, is a new type of underwater vehicle and still requires further research. The shape layout and the configuration of the internal actuators of the flying-wing UG are different from those of "legacy gliders" which have revolving bodies, and these two factors strongly affect the dynamic performance of the vehicle. Considering these differences, we propose a new configuration of the internal actuators for the flying-wing UG and treat the flying-wing UG as a multi-body system when establishing its dynamic model. In this paper, a detailed dynamic model is presented using the Newton-Euler method for the flying-wing UG. Based on the full dynamic model, the effect of the internal actuators on the steady gliding motion of vehicle is studied theoretically, and the relationship between the state parameters of the steady gliding motion and the controlled variables is obtained by solving a set of equilibrium equations. Finally, the behaviors of two classical motion modes of the glider are analyzed based on the simulation. The simulation results demonstrate that the motion performance of the proposed flying-wing UG is satisfactory. 展开更多

HAISHEN is a long-ranged and highly maneuverable AUV which has two operating modes: glider mode and flapping-foil propulsion mode. As part of the vehicle development, a three-dimensional mathematical model of the conceptual vehicle was developed on the assumption that HAISHEN has a rigid body with two independently controlled oscillating hydrofoils. A flapping-foil model was developed based on the work done by Georgiades et al. (2009). Effect of controllable hydrofoils on the vehicle stable motion performance was studied theoretically. Finally, a dynamics simulation of the vehicle in both operating modes is created in this paper. The simulation demonstrates that: (1) in the glider mode, owing to the independent control of the pitch angle of each hydrofoil, HAISHEN travels faster and more efficiently and has a smaller turning radius than conventional fix-winged gliders; (2) in the flapping-foil propulsion mode, HAISHEN has a high maneuverability with a turning radius smaller than 15 m and a forward motion velocity about 1.8 m/s; (3) the vehicle is stable under all expected operating conditions. 展开更多

The propagation and transformation of multi-directional and uni-directional random waves over a coast with complicated bathymetric and geometric features are studied experimentally and numerically. Laboratory investigation indicates that wave energy convergence and divergence cause strong coastal currents to develop and inversely modify the wave fields. A coastal spectral wave model, based on the wave action balance equation with diffraction effect (WABED), is used to simulate the transformation of random waves over the complicated bathymetry. The diffraction effect in the wave model is derived from a parabolic approximation of wave theory, and the mean energy dissipation rate per unit horizontal area due to wave breaking is parameterized by the bore-based formulation with a breaker index of 0.73. The numerically simulated wave field without considering coastal currents is different from that of experiments, whereas model results considering currents clearly reproduce the intensification of wave height in front of concave shorelines. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE To explain the high inter-individual variability and the frequency of exceeding the therapeutic reference range and the laboratory alert level of amisulpride,a popula⁃tion pharmacokinetic model in Chinese patients with schizophrenia was built based on therapeu⁃tic drug monitoring data to guide individualized therapy.METHODS Plasma concentration data(330 measurements from 121 patients)were ana⁃lyzed using a nonlinear mixed-effects model⁃ing approach with first-order conditional estima⁃tion with interaction(FOCE I).The concentra⁃tions of amisulpride were detected by HPLC-MS/MS.Age,weight,sex,combination medication history and renal function status were evaluated as main covariates.The model was internally val⁃idated using goodness-of-fit,bootstrap and nor⁃malized prediction distribution error.Recom⁃mended dosage regimens for patients with key covariates were estimated on the basis of Monte Carlo simulations and the established model.RESULTS A one-compartment model with first-order absorption and elimination was found to adequately characterize amisulpride concentra⁃tion in Chinese patients with schizophrenia.The population estimates of the apparent volume of distribution(V/F)and apparent clearance(CL/F)were 12.7 L and 1.12 L·h-1,respectively.Age sig⁃nificantly affected the clearance of amisulpride and the final model was as follow:CL/F=1.04×(AGE/32)-0.624(L·h-1).To avoid exceeding the lab⁃oratory alert level(640μg·L-1),the model-based simulation results showed that the recommended dose of amisulpride was no more than 600 mg per day for patients aged 60 years,800 mg per day for those aged 40 years and 1200 mg per day for those aged 20 years,respectively.CON⁃CLUSION Dosage optimization of amisulpride can be carried out according to age to reduce the risk of adverse reactions.The model can be used as a suitable tool for designing individual⁃ized therapy for Chinese patients with schizo⁃phrenia. 展开更多

Modeling and optimization of industrial Fischer–Tropsch synthesis with the slurry bubble column reactor and iron-based catalyst 被引量:7

To optimize industrial Fischer-Tropsch (IT) synthesis with the slurry bubble column reactor (SBCR) and iron- based catalyst, a comprehensive process model for IT synthesis that includes a detailed SBCR model, gas liquid separation model, simplified CO2 removal model and tail gas cycle model was developed. An effective iteration algorithm was proposed to solve this process model, and the model was validated by industrial demonstration experiments data (SBCR with 5.8 m diameter and 30 m height), with a maximum relative error 〈 10% for predicting the SBCR performances. Subsequently, the proposed model was adopted to optimize the industrial SBCR performances simultaneously considering process and reactor parameters variations. The results show that C5+yield increases as catalyst loading increases within 10-70 ton and syngas H2/CO value decreases within 1.3-1.6, but it doesn't increase obviously when the catalyst loading exceeds 45 ton (about 15 wt% concentration). Higher catalyst loading will result in higher difficulty for wax/catalyst separation and higher catalyst cost. There- fore, the catalyst loading (45 ton) is recommended for the industrial demonstration SBCR operation at syngas H2/ CO = 1.3, and the C5 + yield is about 402 ton" per day, which has an about 16% increase than the industrial dem- onstration run result. 展开更多

Ultra-wideband(UWB)technology is a prospective technology for high-rate transmission and accurate localization in the future communication systems.State-of-art channel modeling approaches usually divide the UWB channel into several sub-band channels and model them independently.By considering frequency-dependent channel parameters,a novel analytical UWB channel model with continuous frequency response is proposed.The composite effect of all frequency components within the UWB channel on the channel impulse response(CIR)of delay domain is derived based on the continuous channel transfer function(CTF)of frequency domain.On this basis,a closed-form simulation model for UWB channels and geometry-based parameter calculation method are developed,which can guarantee the continuity of channel characteristics on the frequency domain and greatly reduce the simulation complexity.Finally,the proposed method is applied to generate UWB channel with 2 GHz bandwidth at sub-6GHz and millimeter wave(mmWave)bands,respectively.The channel measurements are also carried out to validate the proposed method.The simulated CIR and power gain are shown to be in good agreement with the measurement data.Moreover,the comparison results of power gain and Doppler power spectral density(DPSD)show that the proposed UWB channel model Received:Apr.23,2022 Revised:Jun.09,2022 Editor:Wei Fan achieves a good balance between the simulation accuracy and efficiency. 展开更多

Recent years have witnessed the booming of online social network and social media platforms,which leads to a state of information explosion.Though extensive efforts have been made by publishers to struggle for the limited attention of audiences,still,only a few of information items will be received and digested.Therefore,for simulating the information propagation process,competition among propagating items should be considered,which has been largely ignored by prior works on propagation modeling.One possible reason may be that,it is almost impossible to identify the influence of propagation background from real diffusion data.To that end,in this paper,we design a comprehensive framework to simulate the propagation process with the characteristics of user behaviors and network topology.Specifically,we propose a propagation background simulating(PBS)algorithm to simulate the propagation background by using users′behavior dynamics and out-degree.Along this line,an ICPB(independent cascade with propagation background)model is adapted to relieve the impact of propagation background by using users′in-degree.Extensive experiments on kinds of synthetic and real networks have demonstrated the effectiveness of our methods. 展开更多

In order to simulate the dredging process accurately, a mathematical model for a swell compensator used in TSHD is proposed, and a friendly simulation model based on the Automated Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems (ADAMS) is built to test and validate the mathematical model for the swell compensator. The factors influencing the dynamic behavior of the TSHD suction pipe system, such as the mo-tion of the vessel in an unquiet situation with different water current velocities, seabed profiles, seabed soil hardness and the forces acting on the suction pipe system, have been taken into consideration. The application of new-designed levitation controller requires extensive validation prior to enter into commercial service. However, huge mounts of approximations and assumptions lead the theoretical analysis away from the engineering practice. The experimental methods are time-consuming and financial expensive, even unrealizable due to the lack of suitable sensors. Numerical simulations can bridge the gap between the theoretical analysis and experimental techniques. A complete overall dynamic model of maglev levitation system is derived in this work, which includes the simple-supported bridges, the calculation of electromagnetic force with more details, the stress of levitation modules and the cabin. Based on the aforementioned model, it shows that the inherent nonlinearity, inner coupling, misalignments between the sensors and actuators, and self-excited vibration are the main issues that should be considered during the design process of controller. Then, the backstepping controller based on the mathematical model of the module with reasonable simplifications is proposed, and the stability proofs are listed. To show the advantage of controller, two numerical simulation experiments are carried out. Finally, the results illustrating closed-loop performance are provided. 展开更多

Computational modeling methods have been increasingly employed to quantify aortic hemodynamic parameters that are challenging to in vivo measurements but important for the diagnosis/treatment of aortic disease.Although the presence of turbulence-like behaviors of blood flow in normal or diseased aorta has long been confirmed,the majority of existing computational model studies adopted the laminar flow assumption(LFA)in the treatment of sub-grid flow variables.So far,it remains unclear whether LFA would significantly compromise the reliability of hemodynamic simulation.In the present study,we addressed the issue in the context of a specific aortopathy,namely aortic dilation,which is usually accompanied by disturbed flow patterns.Three patient-specific aortas with treated/untreated dilation of the ascending segment were investigated,and their geometrical models were reconstructed from computed tomography angiographic images,with the boundary conditions being prescribed based on flow velocity information measured in vivo with the phase contrast magnetic resonance imaging technique.For the modeling of blood flow,apart from the traditional LFA-based method in which sub-grid flow dynamics is ignored,the large eddy simulation(LES)method capable of incorporating the dissipative energy loss induced by turbulent eddies at the sub-grid level,was adopted and taken as a reference for examining the performance of the LFA-based method.Obtained results showed that the simulated large-scale flow patterns with the two methods had high similarity,both agreeing well with in vivo measurements,although locally large between-method discrepancies in computed hemodynamic quantities existed in regions with high intensity of flow turbulence.Quantitatively,a switch from the LES to the LFAbased modeling method led to mild(<6%)changes in computed space-averaged wall shear stress metrics(i.e.,SA-TAWSS,SA-OSI)in the ascending aortic segment where intensive vortex evolution accompanied by high statistical Reynolds stress was observed.In addition,comparisons among the three aortas revealed that the treatment status of aortic dilation or the concomitant presence of aortic valve disease,despite its remarkable influence on flow patterns in the ascending aortic segment,did not significantly affect the degrees of discrepancies between the two modeling methods in predicting SA-TAWSS and SA-OSI.These findings suggest that aortic dilation per se does not induce strong flow turbulence that substantially negates the validity of LFA-based modeling,especially in simulating macro-scale hemodynamic features. 展开更多

An optimized device structure for reducing the RESET current of phase-change random access memory (PCRAM) with blade-type like (BTL) phase change layer is proposed. The electrical thermal analysis of the BTL cell and the blade heater contactor structure by three-dimensional finite element modeling are compared with each other during RESET operation. The simulation results show that the programming region of the phase change layer in the BTL cell is much smaller, and thermal electrical distributions of the BTL cell are more concentrated on the TiN/GST interface. The results indicate that the BTL cell has the superiorities of increasing the heating efficiency, decreasing the power consumption and reducing the RESET current from 0.67mA to 0.32mA. Therefore, the BTL cell will be appropriate for high performance PCRAM device with lower power consumption and lower RESET current. 展开更多

To provide a simulation system platform for designing and debugging a small autonomous underwater vehicle's (AUV) motion controller, a six-degree of freedom (6-DOF) dynamic model for AUV controlled by thruster and fins with appendages is examined. Based on the dynamic model, a simulation system for the AUV's motion is established. The different kinds of typical motions are simulated to analyze the motion performance and the maneuverability of the AUV. In order to evaluate the influences of appendages on the motion performance of the AUV, simulations of the AUV with and without appendages are performed and compared. The results demonstrate the AUV has good maneuverability with and without appendages. 展开更多

A new flexible tether-net space robotic system used to capture space debris is presented in this paper. With a mass point assumption, a dynamic model of the tether-net system was established in orbital frame by applying Lagrange Equations. In order to investigate the net in-plane trajectories after being cast, the non-controlled R-bar and V-bar captures were simulated with ignoring the out-of-plane libration, and the effect of in-plane libration on the trajectories of the capture net was demonstrated by simulation results. With an effort to damp the in-plane libration, the control scheme based on tether tension was investigated, then an integrated control scheme was proposed by introducing thrusters into the system, and the nonlinear close-loop dynamics was linearised by feedforward strategy. Simulation results show that the feedforward controller is effective for in-plane libration damping and enables the capture net to track an expected trajectory. 展开更多

Usually a buffer layer of cadmium sulphide is used in high efficiency solar cells based on Cu(In,Ga)Se2(CIGS). Because of cadmium toxicity, many in-vestigations have been conducted to use Cd-free buffer layers. Our work focuses on this type of CIGS-based solar cells where CdS is replaced by a ZnS buffer layer. In this contribution, AFORS-HET software is used to simulate n-ZnO: Al/i-ZnO/n-ZnS/p-CIGS/Mo polycrystalline thin-film solar cell where the key parts are p-CIGS absorber layer and n-ZnS buffer layer. The characteristics of these key parts: thickness and Ga-content of the absorber layer, thickness of the buffer layer and doping concentrations of absorber and buffer layers have been investigated to optimize the conversion efficiency. We find a maximum conversion efficiency of 26% with a short-circuit current of 36.9 mA/cm2, an open circuit voltage of 824 mV, and a fill factor of 85.5%. 展开更多

深海液压锁作为深海液压锁紧系统的核心元件,其工作性能直接影响执行元件及系统的可靠性。为研究深海液压锁特性,首先,对深海工况下液压锁的结构与工作原理进行了详细阐述,对深海液压锁中阀芯阀套的受力及阀口流量进行了理论分析;然后,... 深海液压锁作为深海液压锁紧系统的核心元件,其工作性能直接影响执行元件及系统的可靠性。为研究深海液压锁特性,首先,对深海工况下液压锁的结构与工作原理进行了详细阐述,对深海液压锁中阀芯阀套的受力及阀口流量进行了理论分析;然后,基于AMESim仿真软件,建立了模拟深海工况下液压锁及系统的模型,通过模拟,分析在不同深海环境压力下,稳态液动力、油液温度、阀芯锥角半角等重要参数对阀芯前后压差和位移的影响。仿真结果表明:其阀芯位移与压差都随深海环境压力的增大而增大,且考虑稳态液动力时阀芯前后的压差,比不考虑时大0.25 MPa;油液温度在3℃,压差增大量明显大于50℃及位移变化在3℃时逐渐趋于平缓,在50℃时逐渐加剧,最大分别为0.740 mm和0.985 mm;阀芯锥角半角在45°时压差最小,相比30°和60°时均小于超过0.15 MPa,且阀芯位移最大,故深海液压锁优先考虑将阀芯锥阀半角设计为45°。为深海液压锁设计及后续参数优化提供了一定的理论指导。 展开更多

In this paper,we introduce a qualitative analysis in order to study the monotonicity and comparability properties of a single-server retrial queueing model with Bernoulli feedback and negative customers,relative to stochastic orderings.Performance measures of such a system are available explicitly,while their forms are cumbersome(these formulas include integrals of Laplace transform,solutions of functional equations,etc.).Therefore,they are not exploitable from the application point of view.To overcome these difficulties,we present stochastic comparison methods in order to get qualitative estimates of these measures.In particular,we prove the monotonicity of the transition operator of the embedded Markov chain.In addition,we establish conditions for which transition operators as well as stationary probabilities,associated with two embedded Markov chains,having the same structure but with different parameters,are comparable relative to the given stochastic orderings.Further,numerical examples are carried out to illustrate the theoretical results. 展开更多
